"I vote no."
Everyone looks at Kazuma.
"I'm actually happier here then my home world, so I have no incentive to win."
There was a quiet giggle in the background, but nobody noticed it as they were watching team Konosuba argue.
"That's so typical of you, of course you would say that we want to go home."
The chuckling was getting louder and some in the back started to notice.
"Yeah Kazuma, have you forgotten that we need to go back home to defeat the demon king?"
Before Kazuma could respond, someone interrupted him.
"No."
Everyone turned to Subaru who was the person laughing in the background until now.
Ram looked at Subaru with annoyance.
"What did you just say Barusu?"
"I said no."
"Subaru, I don't think you understand that we are doing this to go back to our old worlds." Ainz spoke as he was confused as of why the two wanted to stay.
"I do get why you guys are doing this. Hence, why I am saying no."
"Subaru stop acting like a nincompoop." Emilia said nervously chuckling thinking that Subaru was just joking.
"Subaru, I expected better of you. What about us who want to go back?" Tanya barked to Subaru who didn't give a shit.
"That's your problem, not mine."
"Subaru, You. Are. In. Front. Of. Lord. Ainz. Do. Not.-"
"Yeah I understand, and I don't care anymore." Subaru looked at Cocytus with an emotionless stare.
Before anything could happen, Subaru continued speaking.
"I know for a fact that me and Kazuma hate our old worlds. I don't know the reason for Kazuma not wanting to stay. But for me, I just can't deal with any of my camp anymore. I'm tired of dealing with Emilia allowing a monster like Puck to be her father, I'm tired of rescuing Emilia every time she is in danger, I'm tired of hearing Ram insult me and even at one point told me to kill myself. The only people I tolerate would be Beatrice since she acts like a normal little girl and Rem as she actually gives a shit about me."
Subaru then pointed to the windows outside.
"I don't think any of you know this but there are houses near this 'school'. I checked around the neighborhood and I found something shocking."
Subaru ignored all the glares and terrified looks around him, besides for Kazuma and Roswaal who showed no emotion whatsoever, and decided to drop the bombshell.
"There is a tunnel back to Japan.
"WHAT?" Kazuma's eyes widened in a cartoonish way.
"Wait, how do you know as I thought there was a barrier blocking us from checking outside?"
"I was strolling around after classes ended for the day as I wanted to take a walk, as it turns out, I noticed a tiny bit of sparkles near one of the houses nearby. When I checked it, I couldn't believe what I saw. It was a tunnel that apparently leads back to me and Kazuma's world. However, I decided to withhold this information until it was the right time. Which of course, is now."
"Wait, why didn't you just leave for good?" Kazuma asked.
"That tunnel only opens after two months so I couldn't escape at that point. It's also because I wanted to see if I could tolerate everyone from my isekai world one last time. Turns out, I can't take it anymore."
Subaru then looked at all the glares and looks he was receiving with a glare of his own.
"You guys can try to go back to your old worlds if you want but I'm done. I want to live in peace, I want to go back to my parents who are most likely worried sick about me, I want to live life as a normal fucking person instead of living with these people where all I do is suffer and die over and over again."
Subaru at this point knew RBD had no consequences anymore as the witch didn't make it through with him when he was transported to this weird realm.
"I'm going to find a house and live in it until two months have passed. I will come back to school to 'learn', but if you think I'm going help you guys get back to your old worlds, then you are mistaken as it may be selfish of me but I can't take it anymore."
Subaru got up from his chair and decided to go through the door. However, he wasn't alone as Kazuma stood up as well.
"I want to confront my parents about what they did to me, I want to get revenge on all those who laughed at my death, I want to live life to the fullest. I have died nearly 7 times while trying to work together with three obnoxious girls. The only one I could somewhat tolerate was Megumin but besides that, they were all embarrassments to be with. So if you don't mind I'm going with you as well and stay with you until the tunnel can be used."
Subaru nodded in agreement of having Kazuma live with him. They both left the room with no regrets.
Until they were grabbed by an invisible force.
Ainz was trying to stop Tanya but she ignored the skeleton and kept hold on the two runaways.
"YOU CAN'T DISOBEY AINZ AND MYSELF, STAY HERE OR ELSE—"
"OR ELSE WHAT? YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T KILL ME IN THIS WORLD. IF YOU TRY ANYTHING I WILL NOT HESITATE TO KILL MYSELF AS YOU DON'T SCARE ME."
Subaru looked into Tanya's eyes with absolute malice and no fear directed towards the leader.
"Now, drop us or I will not hesitate to end my life right in front of you."
"You're bluffing."
"I have a knife in my left pocket. I will cut my own throat right now. You can check if you want to but I am dead serious when I say that I will do it."
Tanya begrudgingly let go of the two.
Kazuma was a bit spooked of what Subaru said but at the same time understood what he was feeling.
"Now we are going to our house. We will go to class like always, you will not harm us, none of you scare me. You cannot kill us, you can torture us if you want, but nothing and I mean nothing will get me to help you guys."
Subaru turned around towards the door.
"We are leaving. Let's go Kazuma."
Kazuma nodded albeit a bit nervous but also glad that Subaru defended him.
