It's time for the yearly Tayuya birthday fic, this time combined with a Valentine's special
"Valen-what Day?!"
In a middle of a busy district in the Leaf Village, stands three young women, Tayuya, Sakura, and Ino walking through the area and chatting with themselves
" Valentines Day. What? Don't tell me that you don't know Valentine's Day?", Ino said in a shocked expression from Tayuya's reply
"Nope. Never heard of it", Tayuya smeared back
"I don't believe it. Damn, is the Sound really that lame?", Ino murmerred
"Be quiet Ino-pig! I'm sorry Tayuya, this fool shouldn't have said that" Sakura said as she hits Ino
"Eh, I don't really mind about that, Pinkie. I mean they really do suck, like totally ass", Tayuya replied, pretty nonchalantly unlike what Sakura expected
"See, no need to get all riled up about it, forehead. You need to learn how to take jokes, ya know", Ino said
"Ugh, you win this round. Anyways, Tayuya. Since you don't know about it, would you like me to explain it to you?", Sakura said
"Eh, I don't think it would hurt to know, so yeah go ahead", Tayuya said
"So basically the day Valentine's Day occur on the 14th of February, and people will celebrate the day with various events such as dinner or parties usually with a romantic partner", Sakura said
"That's it? What's so special about that to have a special day for? Like surely you can choose any fucking day for a lousy dinner", Tayuya replied
"But still, everyone's celebrating it so it's gonna be pretty fun to take part, you know", Ino said happily. "By the way, forehead, have you got a date already? Or are you that dried up that no one asks you out?", Ino remarkably said in front of Sakura's face
"Oh, are you afraid to admit that you're the dried up one and haven't got a date yet? Why don't you tell us yours first?", Sakura challenged back to Ino
"Trying to good old reverse psychology it seems, well sorry to burst your bubble forehead, but I happen to have a date already, heehee. And it's Sai!", Ino says confidently while laughing hysterically. "Now that I've told you mine, why don't you tell us yours?", Ino challenges Sakura again
"Damn!", Sakura mumbles to herself. "I uhh… Of course I have one! But uhh… it's a secret! Yeah, I wanna surprise all of you with my date so you'll have to wait until tomorrow!", Sakura claims while looking obviously sheepish
"Hmph, I expected as much coming from you", Ino said to Sakura "By the way Tayuya, who's gonna be your date for Valentine's?", Ino then asks Tayuya
"I literally just knew what it meant 5 seconds ago. How would you expect me to have one already?", Tayuya said
"Oh right, how silly of me", Ino said while slapping her hand to her forehead. "But surely a hottie like you is gonna have one", Ino continues
"Yeah and I don't think there's one fucking guy that I would accept anyways, at least ones that are available", Tayuya said
"What about Naruto? I mean you two are very close no?", Sakura points out
"Uh… well… It's not like that with me and him. I mean yeah he's the one who approached me first when I first arrived and helps me get settled, b..but.., we…we're just friends, ya know",Tayuya said, a bit stutteringly as Ino and Sakura noticed
"Oh fine, I guess he'll ask Hinata out then", Ino teasingly said with a light laugh
As hard as Tayuya tries to conceive it, it's quite noticeable to notice her obvious negative reaction to what Ino just said.
Meanwhile, in another side of the Leaf Village, specifically in the Nara Clan compound, a group of 4 guys, Naruto, Sasuke, Shikamaru, and Choji, can be seen hanging out in one of the houses. Naruto and Shikamaru are playing a game of shogi while Choji calmly watches them while enjoying a bag of chips and Sasuke resting his back on one of the walls surrounding the house, but still calmly paying attention to the other guys
"What! I lost again?!", Naruto said furiously while smacking the floor
"Heheh! And that's another pack of cigarettes for me", Shikamaru said happily after winning another round
"Gyahh, I can't believe this! I demand another rematch!", Naruto challenges Shikamaru
"Oh just stop it, idiot. We all know you'll just lose again", Sasuke said
"Oh is that so? Why don't you play this with me then, or are you afraid that I'll beat you instead?", Naruto bounced back to Sasuke
"Hmph, I refuse to play this game with you. Besides, we all know who's gonna win", Sasuke said
Naruto grins his teeth and clenched his fist as he's trying to jump on to Sasuke, however Shikamaru noticed this and immediately defused the situation
"Calm down you two. If you two are gonna be fighting, then get out of here and do it outside", Shikamaru said
Naruto immediately calms his fists and breathes a sigh of disappointment, while Sasuke simply continues leaning back into the wall
In an attempt to lighten up the mood much further, Shikamaru proceeds to bring out a new topic to discuss
"Anyway guys, I heard Valentine's Day is coming soon. Any chance you guys have dates already?", Shikamaru asks
"Valentine's Day? I forgot about that, what is it?", Naruto asked
"It's a day where people perform acts of appreciation to their loved ones, usually romantic partners", Shikamaru explains
"Oh that Valentine's Day, yeah I remember. Wait, Acts of appreciation? What are those?", Naruto keeps asking
"You can't possibly be that thick to not know such things. What do you usually do for girls you like?", Sasuke asked rhetorically
"I don't know, give flowers maybe? Ask them out for dinner?", Naruto answered
"Huh, I'm impressed you've put up the right answers", Sasuke said
"Dammit enough of it you two", Shikamaru interrupts before further tension can rise. "Anyways back to my question, have you guys got a date already", Shikamaru asked
"I literally just remembered what it meant 5 seconds ago", Naruto said
"Oh brother, how troublesome", Shikamaru mumbles to himself. "Anyways you two, have you got any dates yet?", Shikamaru points out to Sasuke and Choji
"Hmph, I'm not particularly interested in participating such frivolous events. I don't need a specific day to show appreciation", Sasuke answered
"Of fucking course, he'll answer like that. Troublesome pair these two are", Shikamaru mumbles
"I don't know, man. I don't think I have anyone to celebrate it. Besides, if I had a date that means I havr to share my food, and I would prefer to keep them for myself", Choji claims. "By the way Shikamaru, who's gonna be your date?", Choji asks
"No one. Hell I have a freaking mission tomorrow. I'm bound for the Sand Village to help set up the Chunin Exams there", Shikamaru said
"Ah, so that means you do have a date for Valentine's. It's Temari isn't it? Don't be shy Shikamaru", Naruto teases
"Heh, it isn't like that at all. Besides, strong headed women like her isn't my type", Shikamaru claims. "Speaking of strong headed women, why don't you go ask Tayuya on a date? Highly doubt any guys will be brave enough to ask her out", Shikamaru then continues
"Yeah, she'll strangle any guys going for her, but she seems to have a soft spot for you", Sasuke adds
"Well, heheh… I mean it's not like that between us. I mean yeah I approached her first when she first arrived and helps her get settled, but we're just friends", Naruto said
"Yeah and fire is wet. Everyone totally believes that", Sasuke said
"Huh, what does that mean?", Naruto asked
"Nevermind"
14th February
It was a lively scene on Valentine's Day at the Leaf. The streets are crowded with people celebrating it with their loved ones with various decorations adorned in the walls and houses of the villagers. People are feasting, playing games, watching shows or just sitting together and looking at the sky beside their significant other. Among these people, there can be seen some of our familiar faces celebrating this special day
Yakiniku Q
In one of the tables in this restaurant, there can be seen one Choji enjoying the meals this establishment prepares all by himself. However the fact that he celebrates this day alone doesn't remove any enjoyment he
"One more plate, please", Choji kindly asked the servers
While Choji is busy stuffing his face full of delicious food, a young couple then enters the establishment while holding hands with each other. The couple in question is none other than Ino Yamanaka, along with her date Sai
"Now for out next activity we will be eating right here! Believe me, this place has the best Yakiniku in town!", Ino claims
"As you wish, my princess", Sai replies
While Ino is getting huge tingles from Sai's affections, an older couple mistakenly bumps into them, causing Ino to fall but Sai swiftly picks her up.
"Hey! What's the big deal you…", before Ino can finish her sentences, the couple in question was none other than a certain couple Ino's very familiar with.
"Uhh… I'm so very sorry, we'll be on our..", the older man says before Ino interrupts him
"ASUMA-SENSEI AND KURENAI-SENSEI?!!!", Ino shouts
"Uhh.. hi Ino… L..Lovely to see you here", Kurenai replies sheepishly
"Oh my god what a coincidence! Well Sai, I guess we are having a double date then!", Ino excitingly said
"Hahaha…", both Asuma and Kurenai sheepishly laughs
In another table in the establishment, another couple is enjoying dinner with each other, at least the guy would. The girl in question while isn't exactly not enjoying herself and being ashamed or whatsoever, but a keen eye will spot a whiff of disappointment in her. This couple is the unexpected pair of Rock Lee and Sakura Haruno
"Thank you, for accepting my invitation, Sakura-san. I shall do my best to keep you happy!", Lee said
"You're welcome, Lee. I say it's nice to hang out with you once in a while", Sakura replied
"Now while we're here you can order as many things as you like! I will gladly pay for you however much is the cost!", Lee said
Sakura simply replies with a slightly held back light laughter
Sake Bar
Meanwhile, in a Sake Bar located near the outskirts of the village, two elderly couple.. ehem… friends, can be seen hanging out with each other getting drunk as high as the sky. The elderly friends in question are none other than the Hokage Tsunade along with her old colleague The Gallant Jiraiya.
"More!", Tsunade demanded as she held a glass
"Why isn't that enough already, Lord Hokage? You've had nearly 15 bottles already", the barman said
"Are you disobeying the command of the Hokage? When I say more you give me more!", Tsunade said
"Right away, m'lady!", the barman said frightened
While Tsunade is exchanging interactions with the barman, Jiraiya can't help but laugh at her antics
"Classic old Tsunade. What better way to spend Valentine's Day with a lovely lady such as you, right?", Jiraiya said
His words are immediately replied with a swift punch to his chin that sends him flying hundreds of meters from where he sat
Memorial Stone
Whilst everyone's busy celebrating this fine day with their loved ones, a certain man decides to visit the graves of his lost loved ones in the past. This man is none other than Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi doesn't have many words to say to them. He merely stares at their graves reminiscing the memories he shares with them. Even though he has found new friends to share his time with, the pain of losing the ones he has is still stuck with him all these years
"I just wish that all of you are here to celebrate this day"
Sand Village
As the exam planning structures are nearing it's final decisions, the team ends the planning for the day and the participants of the meeting are leaving the room. One of them specifically Shikamaru, heads outside and takes his usual smoke before being approached by a woman
"Hey what's up, there. Long time no see", the woman, Temari said
"Oh it's you, we literally just spoke with each other during the meeting", Shikamaru replied
"Yeah but it was merely a business exchange. We haven't spoke in a more personal matter. You knw, as a friend to a friend", Temari said
"Yeah I guess so. Well I'm doing just fine. Nothing out of the ordinary", Shikamaru said
"Is that so? You've been smoking quite a lot, and that usually means something is going on", Temari said
"Nah, it's just the damn nicotine starting to spread more in me. It's usual with smokers", Shikamaru said
"I see. Still it seems you're not really in the mood for much talk though, I guess I'll leave you to your own thoughts", Temari said as she starts to walk away
Before she walks too far though, Shikamaru turns around and approaches Temari again
"Wait, Temari. I have something to ask you", Shikamaru said
"Huh, that's so unlike you. Alright, ask away", Temari said
"You wouldn't happen to be going to a Valentine's date would you?", Shikamaru said
Temari laughs lightly before responding to him. "Well, it may surprise you but I actually don't have a date for today. Why, is something the matter?", Temari said
"Say, would you like to go on a dinner with me then? You know, since we both don't have a date?", Shikamaru said as she tries to hide the blush in his face
Temari was slightly shocked by his question and blushed a bit herself. "Oh my, so you trying to say that you're asking me out on a date for Valentine's?", Temari said
"Yeah, I guess I really meant that. So, shall we?", Shikamaru said as he reaches out his hand while still trying to hide his blush
Temari accepts the offer and proceeds to hold Shikamaru's hands
Leaf Village
As it approaches midnight in the Leaf Village, the streets are starting to get quieter as people went home after their celebrations. Among these people, we can see Lee walking Sakura to her home
"That was a great day wasn't it Sakura-san?", Lee asks her
"Yeah it was a pretty fun day. Thank you Lee-san. I really enjoy it"- Sakura said, clearly with a half-heart that Lee fail to notice
"I'm glad to hear that. Well I suppose I'll be leaving now, see you next time, good friend!", Lee said as he quickly exits the scene
As Sakura walks to the front of her her door, she was immediately approached by another man
"Sakura", he said
Sakura was slightly shocked by the voice but still turns her back to see who it was. Much to her relief, it was just Sasuke
"Sasuke-kun? Boy you had me nearly shocked there", Sakura said in relief. "Wait, why are you here though?", Sakura then asks Sasuke
"Nothing, I was just passing by and then noticed you", Sasuke said
"Oh.. okay then", Sakura replied
At this point the two in a pretty awkward situation with each other where both are just struggling what they're trying to say to the other, before Sasuke breaks the ice first
"So uhh, I heard you were on a date with Lee today?", Sasuke asked
Sakura was slightly confused by the question Sasuke chose but she replies it anyways "Uhh.. yeah. He asked me to on a date and since I'm available I said yes"
"Great. I bet it's wonderful" Sasuke said awkwardly
"Yeah. I had a pretty nice day today", Sakura replied. "So, how about you Sasuke-kun? Did you go on a date?", Sakura asked
"Ahh, no. I… don't know who to ask. I never actually thought I wanna go out anyways", Sasuke replied
"Well that's such a shame, I guess", Sakura said.
The two are met with yet again another awkward silence
"Well then I guess I'll be going inside then. Bye, Sasuke-kun", Sakura said
"Uhh.. yeah.. Bye, Sakura", Sasuke replied
Before Sakura open the door to her house though, Sasuke calls her out again
"Sakura", Sasuke said
"Yes, Sasuke-kun?", Sakura said as she turns her face towards Sasuke
"I uhh… I was meaning to say but first… Like are you and Lee a thing now or not?", Sasuke said as he, on a rare occasion is blushing
Sakura was immediately shocked by Sasuke's question, but again she proceeds to answer him anyways
"Oh no.. I mean we had a date yeah but it's just as friends", Sakura replied
"Ahh, that's a relief.. Wait.. uhh..", Sasuke said again still holding his blush
"Excuse me?", Sakura asked as she was shocked by Sasuke's behaviour
Without much thought, Sasuke confessed to Sakura what he has been feeling for her
"Well you see… I…. Was intending to ask you out on a date today", Sasuke said
"Huh?! Really?!", Sakura shockingly replied, also blushing
"Yeah.. It's just.. I don't know how to express it, you know. And… I'm afraid I'll ruin the moment", Sasuke said
Sakura was definitely shocked that Sasuke would confess to her, if even at all. She is simply lost for words to say to him
"But.. then.. I tried to ask you but Lee asked first and you said yes to him. I… regret that and I was afraid that you two became a thing after. But then you said that you weren't and I… am pretty glad about it", Sasuke said even further, this time closing on Sakura
As he approaches her, Sakura's brain have gone off and she simply can't muster anything to react to anything Sasuke said
"So, in an attempt to salvage the moment this day brings before it ends… I just wanna say… Happy Valentine's Day", Sasuke said as he handed over Sakura a bouquet of flowers and a neatly wrapped package
Sakura then accepts the gifts given to her and as she opens the wrapped package he gave, she was surprised to see the contents inside of it
"Syrup-coated anko dumplings?", Sakura said in a huge shock
"Yeah, it's your favourite right?", Sasuke replied
Sasuke then proceeds to hold his hand up Sakura's chin and softly pulls her face closer to his
"Sasuke-kun…", Sakura said
The pair then proceeds to share a kiss with each other

Meanwhile, in another part of the village, Tayuya is gracefully playing her flute below a tree and is joined by a bunch of animals from the forest nearby. Unlike other people spending time with their significant others, she merely spends her time here sleeping and playing her flute alone. Her flute playing are often described as "heavenly" by her friends, a feat easily proven by seeing the animals around her dancing around whenever she's playing it. As the night approaches her, she then proceeds to stop her playing and prepares to head home, much to the animals chagrin
"Hey don't be sad. You know I'll come back here often", she said to the animals enjoying her music
Much to anyone's surprise, the animals seems to understand her and happily returns to their own homes
As Tayuya heads home, she saw the aftermath of the celebration previously held in the day. She saw people heading home, stores closing, and decorations being removed
"Damn, I bet the day was a blast", she murmurs to herself
She likes to think that she's fine with spending her time alone, but deep down she feels pretty sad by it and wished that someone would take her out on the day like her other friends did during the day.
In a rather bit of coincidence, she cross paths with a very close friend down the road, which was none other than dear old Naruto Uzumaki
"Hey! Tayuya-chan!", he shouted
"Shithead? What the hell are you doing here?", she asked
"I was just heading home, then I saw you so I had to call you out, ya know?", he said
"Yeah you could shout more fucking harder, you know. I can barely hear your voice" Tayuya replied sarcastically
"Oh, okay then. T…", Naruto tries to shout before Tayuya shuts his lips
"God fucking damnit, you never understand sarcasm do you?!", Tayuya said annoyingly
"Heheh, I guess I have to learn about that more", Naruto said sheepishly. Before the both of them went on their separate way, Naruto then proceeds to ask Tayuya about something. "Oh by the way Tayuya-chan, since you're here already, let's go for a bit of a walk. Whaddya say?"
"Hmm.. Well I haven't done anything and I'm pretty bored anyways, so yeah, why not?", Tayuya replied
"Cool", Naruto said
The pair then walks around the village looking at the sight of the day's aftermath of events. As they walk together, they proceed to chat with each other
"So, how was your day?", Naruto asked
"Eh, it's nothing special. I just woke up at noon, eat a brunch, and then walked over to my favourite pond with a book. Then I slept a bit and played the flute to a bunch of animals", Tayuya replied. "How about you then? How was your day?", Tayuya asked
"Me? It's nothing special as well. I woke up, ate a cup ramen, watch TV, went to Ichiraku, and I just went from the store from buying ramen", Naruto said
"Huh, that's boring as fuck man. You don't try to at least hang out with your friends or something?", Tayuya asked
"I mean I would if any of them are available. Shikamaru is off to Sand and Sasuke has disappeared again", Naruto said. "Say, what about you? Why didn't you hang out with your friends?", Naruto then asked
"Well I would if those idiots aren't going on their Valentine's date. Apparently they treat it as some special day or something", Tayuya replied
"Oh yeah, Valentine's Day. Man I keep forgetting about that, ya know", Naruto said
"Yeah. Wait, I thought you too are on a date today? So you're saying that you don't?", Tayuya asked again
"Nah, like I said I always forgot about it. I mean every one still celebrates it the previous years as well, but I can't seem to remember it like the others", Naruto said
"Man you really are a Shithead", Tayuya comments
"Hey, what about you then? You said that your friends are busy on their dates, so that means you don't date anyone?", Naruto asked as well
"No, of course not. I literally learnt about Valentine's just yesterday", Tayuya said
"Huh, really? You're weird", Naruto said
"Says the guys who forgets it every goddamn year", Tayuya said
"Yeah hehehe, well you know me", Naruto said
"Yeah, you're an absolute Shithead", Tayuya replied
The pair continues to walk around the village, slowly getting darker as the night keeps approaching. Eventually the pair reached the front of Naruto's apartment
"Huh, we're here already? Damn time flies by pretty fast when you're talking", Tayuya exclaims
"Yeah, I barely realized I'm already near my home", Naruto said
"Hmph, well I guess I better head to my home then. See you later?", Tayuya said as she went the other way
Before she can go much further, Naruto suddenly grabs hold of her hand
"Tayuya-chan, wait", he said
Tayuya was slightly surprised by Naruto and she gave him a little confused stare which startled him a bit
"Huh, oh. Sorry-sorry", Naruto said as he released her arm. "I was just trying to say, umm, would you like to come in and have a cup of tea first?", Naruto said
"Damn, that was one fucking commotion for just a simple question. You okay or something?", Tayuya said
"I know, hell I'm kinda confused why I suddenly did that. But still, would you like a cup of tea?", Naruto said
"I don't know man, I think I'm good. I'm pretty tired too so I'd rather just sleep immediately", Tayuya said
"Hey wait", Naruto said as she grabs her again. "It's already near midnight, the streets aren't safe, you know", Naruto said
Tayuya is pretty annoyed this time around. Something is pretty fishy going with Shithead here. But she srill tries to calm down a bit and be the bigger person in this situation
"Alright, Shithead. What's going on here, why are you so suddenly concerned about the safety of the streets. You know I can handle little thugs and bandits", Tayuya said
"I know it's just, I don't know I'm just pretty concerned about you. Anything can happen in the dark", Naruto said
"What, you're afraid ghosts are gonna get me?", Tayuya said as she laughs quite a bit. "C'mon Shithead I'll be fine. I'll see you tomorrow", Tayuya said as she softly released her hand from Naruto's grip, only for Naruto to immediately grab it again
Tayuya was patient enough for the 1st and 2nd time around, but now it's starting to piss her off and she finally confronts Naruto
"Okay, Shithead. What the actual fuck is wrong with you, let me go.", Tayuya said furiously
"I.. Okay..", Naruto said as he releases Tayuya's hand
"Okay, now. Tell me what the fuck is happening with you!", Tayuya said
"I… uhh… I just want you to come inside for a bit", Naruto said
"Why?", Tayuya asked
"Coz, I wanna talk to you for a bit more", Naruto admits
"Really, all that trouble about tea and danger at night just for that?!", Tayuya said
"Yeah. I just need to talk to you about something. Very important", Naruto said
"And what is that? We can talk about it here outside", Tayuya said
"I know, I'm just more comfortable talking about it inside", Naruto said
"Fucking hell, what is it that's so important that we have to talk inside?", Tayuya said
"It's something personal alright. I need some advice on something and since you're very smart I wanna ask you for it. But it's also personal so I'm more comfortable talking about it inside, ya know?", Naruto said.
Tayuya felt a bit of pride from Naruto's word and she's flattered enough to bite into Naruto's game
"Okay Shithead, I'll bite. But lemme tell you, this better be quick since I don't wanna linger around here long, got it?", Tayuya said
"Of course. Got it!", Naruto said
The pair then walked inside Naruto's apartment room, before entering the room, Naruto then kindly insists Tayuya to enter first
"Ladies first", Naruto said
"Not this crap again. Explain before, I get pissed and leave", Tayuya said
"This is just a simple gentlemanly gesture", Naruto said
"Seriously, Shithead. What's going on?", Tayuya said with her voice getting higher in tone
"Look, just, go inside okay", Naruto said as he lightly pushes Tayuya inside
"Hey, Shithead! What the fuck is this! You fucking…", Tayuya shouts furiously towards Naruto, before getting surprised at the sight in front of her as she enters the apartment
The dining room was well lit, along with the table filled with various food and candles like in a restaurant. A bunch of flowers is placed along the walls as decoration and up in the ceiling are the words Happy Valentine's (Birth)Day attached.
"Sh… Naruto… what the hell is this??", Tayuya asked very confusingly
"Well, you remember what I said about forgetting Valentine's Day every year? Well when the guys remind me again yesterday, I realized how I always forgot because I never had someone special to celebrate it with. But recently, I also realized that there is now someone special whom I can celebrate this wonderful day with today, and I also realized that the day after is her birthday",Naruto said
"B-birthday? Who's birthday is tomo…", Tayuya stutteringly asked before realizing who Naruto meant
"Yeah. Anyways, since Valentine's and the birthday so happen to occur only one day apart, I just devised a plan to celebrate both special events at the same time", Naruto said
"So today is 14th rjght, a… and tomorrow's 15th that means…", Tayuya said before Naruto interrupts her by saying, "Yes, it's you, Tayuya-chan"
Tayuya is in extreme shock for everything that's happening right in front of her. She struggles to process everything immediately and fell on her knees. Seeing Tayuya falling like that, Naruto panicked and went straight to her
"Tayuya-chan, Tayuya-chan, hey, speak to me", Naruto said as she holds her in his hand
What follows soon after, is a surprising reaction that Naruto didn't expect coming from her. She hugs Naruto pretty tightly and squeezed her face right in his chest
"Hey, Tayuya-chan, you okay?", Naruto asked
Naruto then felt a sort of wet sensation coming from his chest. As it turns out, Tayuya is crying on his chest while hugging his back pretty tightly.
"Tayuya-chan, did I do something wrong?", Naruto asked
Tayuya still cries on Naruto's chest for a few minutes before she stopped. After that, Tayuya then pulls her face back from Naruto's chest, still with her eyes watery.
"Are you alright, Tayuya-chan?", Naruto asked
Tayuya simply answered his question by pressing her lips onto his
