Birds chirped softly as the sun peeked out from its cradle behind the horizon. Light glanced off of the morning dew in a beautiful display of shining gold hues. It was a beauty that remained unmatched in the eyes of principal Nezu.

Nezu was an intelligent creature. Animals with quirks were quite rare, but rarer were animals with quirks that allowed them to function at the same level as humans.

With all of those factors, it would be sufficient to say that Nezu was an anomaly. With an IQ that was counted among the top five worldwide, and a position of power that allowed him to weaponize that intellect, it was a wonder that he wasn't on every government hit list out there.

Perhaps one reason was that he had already been tormented by humans. They may have decided that he deserved a decent life. Perhaps another was how close he was to the symbol of peace. No country wanted to risk losing the number one hero's support.

Regardless of those reasons, Nezu enjoyed believing that the world needed his intellect. He was too useful to get rid of.

And so the same sunrise would rise and fall, greeting the chimera.

Except for today.

Nezu sighed as he sipped his 'Eraser Head Strength Coffee'. The hero was going on eighty six hours with no sleep. A new record for him.

Smoke and dust continued to rise from ground zero as Nezu ran a scan of yet another downed building.

"Thirteen, I'm getting a read on seventy three civilians on building alpha."

Thirteen, a hero clad in a space suit, began using her quirk to vacuum away boulders and debris.

The pro hero Ectoplasm deployed clones to retrieve the civilians as they were uncovered.

The pro hero Midnight put those with severe injuries to sleep, allowing pain relief as they were transported to the medical tents.

Nezu sighed, before taking a long swig of coffee and returning to his work.

"Eraser, any movement around?"

"We're still in the yellow sector. Most villains are in red areas. After we get done here we'll want to keep our guard up."

"Excellent. Contact Power Loader and see if he can scout ahead."

"Yes sir."

Nezu returned to guiding thirteen and the extractors.

"Ectoplasm, on your left, five paces. Midnight, Three with breaks or fractures have been located. Thirteen, that chunk is unstable, I'm calling Cementoss to help you."

The crew of heroes made good progress carving through the rubble. Nezu numbered the civilians and counted each off until they were done.

"Alright everybody. Keep your guard up. We're headed to a red zone."

The hero's steeled themselves, preparing to traverse into the worst of the disaster area.

The fight between All Might and his nemesis had destroyed a massive part of the city. While the heroes saved those who survived, villains searched destroyed buildings for money, drugs, anything they could get their hands on.

Nezu's group made their way into the epicenter, each ready to respond at a moment's notice. As the group arrived at the next block, they all took a deep breath and began working.

The red zones were incredibly dangerous. They were filled with bigger buildings that held dangerous equipment. Pistons and pressurized gasses, electronics and fuel. Individually they were okay, but in situations like this, they could be deadly.

Forget live wires and water. Pools of car battery acid needed to be avoided. Gasoline that got too close to a spark could spell doom for everyone in the area. A broken piston on it's own could easily kill a hero.

"Nezu, I've captured five villains, but there are still three in the area. Keep your guard up. One of the downed buildings was an S rank containment facility."

Nezu's eyes narrowed. This changed the sectors danger level.

"Aizawa, I'm sending word to the other heroes that Sector seventy three has been changed to a danger rating of black. None of us will be allowed out of the area until the threat is neutralized.

"Isn't that pushing it? I mean they could be easily taken care of, right?"

"If they are still here, it means whatever S rank villain we're dealing with is looking for a fight."

Thirteen vacuumed away another pile of rubble, only to recoil in horror when she found the skinned and filleted bodies of three women.

Ectoplasm ran over to help, but stopped as he saw the bodies.

"Nezu… We have a situation. Three bodies here. Cut up and bones removed."

Nezu's brow furrowed. "Everyone, keep your guard up… There is a dangerous villain in the area."

"Nezu, we're only a B rank rescue group. Even individually we're not on the level of whatever did this."

"Well Midnight…" Nezu said, running a satellite sca of the area. "I think today's a great day for a promotion."

"Nezu, I found the other two villains. They're dead."

Nezu's face remained still as he observed the satellite feed. The chimera zoomed in to the top of a downed building as what looked like a black worm slithered out, before pushing itself upright with long insectile legs and climbing to a viewpoint.

'Black sectors… areas where the chance of survival is fifty percent… a dangerous villain roams the area, hunting us heroes.'

The rescue squad turned as a hoarse yell tore through the air. A battle cry that chilled them to the bone. For it wasn't a cry for glory, but a cry for food.

Nezu zoomed in the satellite image as he heard the cry, wishing the hero's luck as he ran the villains image through the database.

"FLEEEEESHHHHHH!"

"I need bandages over at medical tent C!"

"IV BAGS? WE NEED IV BAGS!"

"Another gone. Add another to the graves list."

First responders flooded the safe area. Fire fighters carried the injured on stretchers. Nurses and Doctors rushed between tents, doing what they could for those in bad condition.

The Captain trudged closer to the medical area, the little girl in his arms. He had passed Echo and Sealer, who had begun to walk slower in order to keep the civilian woman stable.

As The Captain made it closer to the medical tents, he heard the chaos and panic beginning to set in.

They were running out of supplies.

The hero grit his teeth as he was bumped into by a nurse.

"Watch it."

"Y-yes… Sorry sir."

The nurse ran into the nearest tent as The Captain continued on.

"I'VE GOT TWO CIVILIANS IN NEED OF CARE!" The hero shouted as Echo and Sealer made it to the zone.

"Sir, please. This way." A firefighter said.

The woman led the hero into a tent with two open beds. Three doctors zoomed around the room, maintaining the stability of patients.

"Over here, I need an IV and some gauze."

"Do we have any antivenom? This man was struck by a poison quirk."

The Captain set the girl down on a medical bed, before turning to the doctor that had requested antivenom.

"I have a quick acting antidote that I keep on my belt. Can you care for this girl and her mother?"

"As soon as he's stable, I can move to them. All I need is that antivenom."

The hero nodded and procured the antidote, handing it to the nurse before aiding Sealer and Echo, who had just arrived.

The doctor that The Captain had spoken to immediately rushed over to the woman that had been rescued. "What the hell happened?"

"We found these two in a downed apartment complex. They were the only survivors." Echo said. "We stopped the bleeding on the woman's leg as best we could, but she needs help."

"Well I can see that." The doctor said. "I'll do my best. It'll take some time."

"Momma?"

The heroes and doctor turned to see that the little girl had awakened.

"Momma… Where's Momma?"

The girl was beautiful. There were no other words to describe her. The doctor looked at her in awe. This girl was young, no older than the age of seven. Yet her features were more striking than any she'd seen. Viridian hair and almost snow white skin. Symmetrical freckles on her cheeks.

The girl's eyes were a beautiful green color. They seemed to glow as they looked around the medical tent.

"Momma?"

The doctor quickly closed the curtain between mother and daughter, before stepping over to talk to the girl.

"Hi sweetheart. Are you okay?"

The little girl nodded. "The bump on my head hurts… but I feel fine! Is momma okay?"

'Regression from psychological trauma…

The doctor bit her lip. "There was a big villain attack sweetie…"

The girl nodded again. "Momma covered me before the building fell. She hurt her leg, and that's all I remember…"

The doctor smiled, patting the girl on the head. "It's good that you remember. Your momma is hurt, but I'm going to do my best to help her, okay?"

The little girl smiled, her bright face causing the doctor to feel as though everything would be okay. This smile conveyed so much good that it was impossible to feel as though she was the greatest person in the world.

"Okay! Thank you Mrs Doctor!"

The woman smiled back, before returning to the girl's mother to begin treatment.

"Everything okay Sara?"

The woman looked up to see her associates staring.

"Yeah. We can do this!"

"FLESH!"

Thirteen dodged the rampaging villain's attack. Metal blades creaked through the air, stabbing into the ground where the hero had been standing.

The villain pulled himself towards where the blades were as they retracted back into his teeth.

"Ugh, gross…" Midnight gagged.

The villain turned and gave a disgusting grin, his teeth wiggling at her with twisted glee.

"EVEN MORE GROSS! YUCK!" Midnight jumped out of the way as the villain lunged, his straightjacket and blindfold doing little to hinder him.

Cementoss quickly used his quirk to fold cement over the villain, but to no avail. The metal blade-teeth sliced through the material as if it were paper.

"We can't even slow him down!"

"Maybe I can use my mist to knock him out." Midnight suggested, raising her arm.

"Don't. From what his file says he's built an immunity to sedatives. All you'll do is obscure your own vision and put our allies at risk."

Ectoplasm got into a ready stance. "Nezu, who are we dealing with here?"

"His name is Moonfish. He's a serial killer with the deaths of more than three hundred on his hands."

"THREE HUNDRED? NEZU-"

"Shhhhh, none of them had me on their side. He can only use his teeth, so that means he's incredibly reliant on his quirk. Aizawa and Mic are on standby. You need to get him into a position where Aizawa can focus on him until capture."

"FLESH!"

"GET DOWN!"

Midnight dove to the side as Moonfish created a storm of metal with his teeth. Blades whirled through the air, before they latched onto a position near Midnight. Moonfish pulled himself towards the hero, his teeth grinding as he moved.

"Flesh…Flesh… give me FLESH!"

Midnight rolled back and kicked away a barrage of teeth, before stepping in for an uppercut.

The metal blades of Moonfish twisted and wriggled, before wrapping around Midnight's arm and pulling the hero in.

"Fleshhhhh…"

Midnight shuddered as the villain ran his tongue up her cheek, before he was smacked away by a barrage of cement.

Midnight scrambled back to the sides of her comrades. "Is there any way we can make this easier?"

Ectoplasm grunted, his jaw unhinging.

"Clone Tide…"

A wave of clones poured from the hero's mouth, before leaping at the villain. Cementoss put his hands to the ground and caused the earth to rumble.

A massive wall of cement shot up around the villain, trapping him in an open area.

"Cement Playground!"

The hero kept his hands on the wall, causing a relentless barrage of cement hammers, bullets, and spikes. Moonfish dodged or blocked each attack, leaping in ways that seemed impossible.

Pebbles and boulders fell on the ground, only to be reabsorbed and sent at the villain again.

"That's amazing Ishiyama!" Thirteen blinked. "How long have you had that under your sleeve?"

The hero grunted out a response as he continued to attack the villain.

"Work in… progress. Takes… Effort."

"Good job Cementoss. Mic and I are going in for the capture."

The group barely had time to respond as two shadows flew past. Eraserhead and Present Mic leapt down into the chaos as Moonfish delivered another whirlwind of blades, clearing the area he was trapped in.

Aizawa grabbed his scarf as the villain attacked, using it to block and redirect the dangerous attacks.

"Show us what you can do, pretty boy!" Midnight smirked.

"I'm an underground hero, Kayama. I don't do flashy combat." Aizawa grumbled, wrapping moonfish in his scarf. The hero hurled the serial killer away as they launched a barrage of blades from their maw.

Present Mic flashed a grin. "But I am!"

Moonfish flew towards the hero, saliva dripping from his grinning teeth as he activated his quirk.

"FLESH!"

"YEAAAAAAAAAH!"

Moonfish was blasted away by a wave of sound. The villain gave out a scream as blood spewed from his gums. The rescue team blinked as the villain struggled back into the fight.

"Does Mic's quirk normally do that?"

"Quirk type. Moonfish has a quirk that makes his teeth metal blades. When Mic hits him at the right frequency, those blades resonate and cause more damage. It also gives Eraserhead more of an edge, he'll have an easier time with the killer's quirk."

The hero's watched as Aizawa was having an easier time dodging the villain's attacks.

Mic ran forward and swapped positions with Aizawa, working on close combat as his ally fell back to use his quirk.

"Whenever I see them fight, it gives me chills." Thirteen said. "Their fighting styles mesh perfectly to each other, and their quirks."

"What's really crazy is how Mic uses his quirk in close combat. Look."

Present Mic rolled back onto his head, delivering three kicks in rapid succession.

"OH YEAH!"

Moonfish gagged on his quirk as the blast hit his legs, making him fall face first into a chunk of metal debris.

"Aizawa!"

"Already on it."

The hero's eyes turned red as the villain went still. Aizawa kept his eyes on Moonfish as he called Powerloader. "We got him. Got any quirk canceling equipment?"

A yellow exoskeleton burrowed out from beneath the rubble, slapping a collar on the villain.

"I whipped it up as I watched your fight. Got it done just in time too."

The capture team strapped the villain into Powerloaders mobile containment cell, before turning to the rescue team.

"YOU'RE ALL SET TO GO!"

Cementoss lowered the wall and began checking for civilians. Thirteen began freeing those who had survived from the area. Midnight began helping Ectoplasm move everyone.

Nezu sighed in his seat, a weight feeling as though it had been lifted from his shoulders.

"Nezu!"

The chimera jolted in his seat. "Yes Thirteen?"

"Make sure we have the information on the next red zones. We can't go in blind like that again."

Nezu smiled. 'This team is going places.'

"Of course Thirteen. I'm going over the next zone now."
