Okay, coming back for chapter five. Once I finish writing this, the entire first five chapters will be uploaded to my discord, and then a day later, to , AO3, and a few other websites.

While FFN and AO3 are very prominent story platforms with many different incredible stories, I want to post on other sites like Wattpad, strictly because of the few "Diamond in the rough" Stories you can find, and beyond that, I don't want anyone to steal my work and take credit on another site for it.

Now, let's begin with our underdog heroes.

Almost Twelve Years Ago:

Nezu and his team stood upon the stage of the Heroic Ranking Ceremony. As the awards were counted up from one hundred, Nezu took in the scene.

Hundreds of hero fans and followers milled about, eyes focused upon the stage.

One of the newest heroes, a young man who went by "Hawks" Was placed high on the list at number 30. Nezu was sure he'd climb the ranks, especially as he had only been operating for a few months.

"And now at number three, We have the Foresight Hero, Sir Nighteye! Sir Nighteye has split from his friends at All Mights agency, and will be working on building his own team. With his high rate of success in the past, we are certain he will continue to impress!"

Nezu clapped politely, despite his feelings toward the man. The entire ground zero tragedy could have been avoided if the man used his quirk properly, but at that time he was afraid of what he might see.

It could have been stopped.

"Rising from number five to number two, with the most recorded villain arrests made in one year, we have the Flame Hero, Endeavor! Certainly a force to be reckoned with in the field, keep bringing those baddies in!"

Nezu clapped again. He had no reason to hate Endeavor, although he could see the beginnings of a one sided rivalry between him and All Might. Hopefully that was to be avoided.

"And finally, the number one hero in Japan, and the world! We have-"

"HAHAHAHA!"

All Might landed upon the stage, his face stretched into his signature smile. His eyes glowed with the power of his quirk as he regarded the entire crowd.

"Good evening, fine citizens! I AM HERE!"

The crowd roared and All Might gave a quick bow.

"From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. Each and every one of you for your unending support. Because of your smiles, I have been able to see the world I have been fighting for emerge from what it used to be. We have faced many hardships, the ground zero incident weighs heavy upon our minds… I would like to have a moment to honor each of the fallen from that tragedy."

Everyone bowed their heads for a few minutes. The moment was staggering, as for all the people gathered, none of them made a peep. All Might gave a thank you, and it was on to group ranks.

Several groups were announced, along with their accomplishments. Nezu smirked as the ranks ticked away.

"Er… Nezu. Did you tell us what rank we were placed at?" Nemuri whispered.

"You're up on stage now Midnight, no running from it at this point."

"And at our number one spot, the Blind Mice! Led by Nezu, one of the most intelligent creatures on earth, this team of heroes has worked tirelessly to keep the streets safe. Each hero works on their own, but on higher grade missions, they utilize each others strengths to go above and beyond. During the ground zero tragedy, Nezu and his team saved a staggering one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven civilians, apprehended twelve villains of varying threat, and recaptured the S class villain Moonfish. Their work has gone beyond that of normal heroes. We wish each new hero team were as precise and quick as theirs, and because of that, we are offering the entire team an opportunity to be the new staff at UA university, to teach the heroes of the future!"

Nezu was shocked at the reward. His team passed out at the offer, leaving him to deal with the decision.

'Of course…'

Nezu sat at the head of the staff table twelve years later. He and his team had become teachers after that day, and these positions weren't tiny little jobs. Each teacher had political power, and answered directly to the hero commission. Nezu sighed as he looked outside.

'A beautiful day… limitless freedom for my classes, and yet, I feel like it won't ever be enough…'

Nezu sighed as he looked at the roster of students before him.

'Touya Todoroki… Black Hero. Guess Endeavor hopes for a high paying career that won't last too long. Next, Kayuga Korrode. Regular hero course… His family is suspected of quirkless trafficking… next…'

Nezu ticked off each of the students and sorted them into classes.

"Izuka Midoriya… Labeled by the Hero Commission as 'under surveillance'… interesting."

"What's interesting Nezu?"

"Ah! Aizawa." Nezu smiled at the overtired hero. "Glad you could join me to look through the applicants. It's just been a while since I've seen an applicant under surveillance by the commission."

"Really? Who is it?"

"Izuka Midoriya. Age Nineteen. Quirk, None. Name brought up in the ground zero incident by All Might and Sir Nighteye. Mother, Deceased. Currently living with her Aunt in Musutafu."

"Quirkless huh? Perhaps she was a concern because of All Mights mention… maybe a civilian he told to wait for help?"

"It would be rare… Perhaps you're right, and it is nothing."

Aizawa nodded, looking down at the girl's picture. "Perhaps…

"Hey there my little bomber guy! How ya doin'?"

"Hey Auntie Kaka."

Izuka chuckled as her nephew greeted her in his Katsuki Bakugo Fashion. She had stopped to pick him up, as Mitsuki and Masaru were busy at work. Since she turned fifteen, it had been her responsibility to walk the boy home.

"You're always so excited you silly kid!" Izuka joked.

"OI! WHO YOU CALLIN' A KID?"

"I know I know." Izuka chuckled, ruffling the boys hair.

"Hey HEY! Don't treat me like a child you scheming tinkerer!"

Izuka feigned a shocked look, before laughing at Katsuki's worried face. The boy blushed in embarrassment.

"H-HEY! It's not fair to make me think I went too far!"

Izuka chuckled as she walked out with the younger boy. "I know I know. Come on, tell me about your day."

As the two walked out of Aldera Central School, Katsuki puffed out his chest.

"Our class took mock hero tests today."

"Oh? Did you guys do it at the school or outside?"

Katsuki rolled his eyes. "We go to this gym a few blocks away. They mainly tested our quirks though…"

Izuka nodded. "They do that. I remember them telling me to go and work on something else. I just treated any quirk side effects."

Katsuki turned to Izuka. "Tell me one!"

Izuka rolled her eyes. "We've already gone through my entire old class."

"I know I know, but you never told me their weaknesses!"

Izuka mussed up Katsuki's hair. "Fine then you goob, I'll tell you a few. You know the kid with the squid hair?"

"Oh yeah, he can throw his tentacles around, right?"

"Yeah, but they can dry up if he doesn't stay hydrated, and if he overworks himself, he starts to spit ink."

"Gross!"

Izuka laughed. "Maybe, but I told him he should make it into a tool that he could use, blind an enemy with an ink shot, or make them slip on a glob of it."

"Huh… good point. Any others?"

"Ah ah, you know how it goes. Every time I tell you something about my class, you tell me something about yours."

Katsuki grunted. "Fine. You know the girl with blue hair? She can make it grow or shrink, as well as control its thickness and tensile strength, pretty versatile, but she can only grow out to ten feet, and she's very vulnerable to fire."

"And probably scissors." Izuka laughed, making Katsuki snort.

"Okay, I told you my classmates weakness, back to you."

Izuka smiled. "There's a kid with a really strong quirk. He can change his diet to project three aspects of laser vision. One will be a laser. One will be a ray of frost, and the third lets him shock anyone he looks at."

"Laser kid has that much power?"

"Yeah. Only, when he uses his quirk, he goes blind. Until, of course, he turns it off." Izuka said.

"Glad I don't have that drawback." Katsuki breathed. "Not being able to see must suck."

"You have your own weaknesses." Izuka shrugged.

"OH YEAH? LIKE WHAT?"

Izuka procured a book of matches and lit one. "Need I say more?"

"I don't really… understand where you're going with this." Katsuki blinked.

Izuka rolled her eyes and dropped the match on his hand, igniting his sweat and causing a moderately sized explosion.

Katsuki hissed as stinging pain covered his hand. "Damn! You're kaka Kaka! That hurts!"

Iuka nodded and procured a bottle of skin lotion from her backpack before taking Katsuki's smoking hand.

"Your quirk works off of your sweat. When you create sparks to ignite it, your muscles tense in order to defend against the blowback. Your skin is resistant to explosions and fire as a result of your quirk as well, meaning that in terms of your quirk's weaknesses it's built your body to resist many of them. However, if someone else ignites your sweat, the result is muscle shock. Beyond that, sweating so much can dry out your skin, and your explosions being so close to you can eventually lead to you going deaf."

Bakugo's eyes sparked with fear as Izuka applied the lotion to his hand.

"But, there are a lot of ways you can reduce your drawbacks." Izuka said, massaging over the boys hand and unknotting several tightened muscles. "You can integrate a piece of support gear into your suit that would reduce the hearing damage when you use your explosions, and develop a fighting style that utilizes martial arts. Using your explosions to speed up your punches, instead of making them bigger and more destructive. More targeted strikes, instead of smokescreen opportunities for enemies."

Katsuki nodded silently as he looked at his other hand, his entire world turned upside down.

'One match… even a minor sparking quirk could do that to me… I never thought about my own weaknesses…'

"Kaka, what are your weaknesses?"

Izuka blinked. "Me? I'm only human Kacchan. I don't have a quirk."

"Mom always said you did. Used to be able to borrow quirks or something, but something happened to it."

Izuka chuckled. "A power like that could be cool, and sure, I could cover a lot of scenarios with it, but even then, I would only be as good as the power I had."

"So… your weakness is that you're normal? I mean, then you can lie!"

"Lie?"

"No villain would ever know! You can kill anything you want, but you don't like to kill. You can instantly heal someone, but it takes a massive amount of energy. Just lie."

Izuka chuckled. "Deception huh? It could work. I guess my weakness is myself."

"Yourself?"

"I hold myself back a lot. I get nervous, and whenever I find myself facing someone stronger than myself. I kneel."

"You're stronger than you think Kaka." Katsuki said. "I bet you could be the best hero in the world."

"Better than you?"

"HEY! Don't get too cocky! I still have a few years before I make my debut."

"Okay! Okay! Don't get too heated. You're mom and dad have a late night tonight, something with Mituki showing off Masaru's latest designs. You know what that means?"

Katsuki grinned. "Fuck yea! Kaka Katsudon night!"

"LANGUAGE MISTER!"

"I'M NOT A KID YOU SUPPORT WITCH!"

"ASS BLASTER!"

"BROCCOLI HAIR!"

Izuka chased her nephew inside and watched as he dashed up the stairs.

"OI! YOU BETTER GET YOUR HOMEWORK DONE!" She called after him. "I'LL BE STARTING DINNER IN TWO HOURS! BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!"

The boy popped his head out from the second floor.

"If you must know auntie, I'm grabbing my notebook so that I can record new findings on my quirk."

Izuka chuckled at the dynamic change.

"Well then my nephew, when you are finished with your quirk notes, you should complete your homework and help me cook."

Katsuki raised his eyebrows. "Will we make it extra spicy?"

"Don't I always?"

Katsuki ducked back into his room, before flitting down the stairs a few minutes later. With a stack of two textbooks, a notebook, and his laptop.

"So, what'cha have to work on?"

"Some math and science bullshit, english hag wanted us to write an essay by friday, so I have to finish that. History dude didn't give us work because he's chill like that."

Izuka snorted. "Do you even know your teachers names?"

Bakugo rolled his eyes.

"I'll take that as you just like giving attitude."

"They chose to become extras." The boy grunted. "I just have to deal with 'em until I'm given the choice."

"The choice for what?"

"To be an extra, or to be the best. I know what I'm gonna do when I get that chance."

Izuka nodded. "Just make sure that you don't go deaf kid. Now, you do your work, I have a few phone calls to make."

"You never call people, unless you're cancelling something."

Izuka nodded. "UA entrance exams are in three months. I gotta double down on my martial arts classes, and my gym visits. Then I gotta set aside a week to do the exam."

"A week?"

"Mainly for studying. It's a lot easier without a bunch of meatheads around."

Katsuki nodded. "Huh… well, when you get the chance, could you call my mom and ask if I can invite a few friends over?"

Izuka blinked. "Uh… say that again?"

"OH COME ON YOU BROCCOLI HEADED SHE DEVIL! I HAVE FRIENDS!"

Izuka cackled and set her phone down.

"Tell me."

"Tell you what?"

"You know exactly what I mean."

Katsuki grunted. "Fine… I met 'em a few weeks ago at the first quirk tests… They're all aiming to go to UA. One's got shitty hair, the other has bubblegum pink skin, and this other guy is a tape dispenser."

Izuka laughed. "Really, you call them friends, and refer to them like that?"

"OI! IT'S HOW I REMEMBER PEOPLE!"

Izuka giggled as Bakugo continued to yap.

"YOU BETTER NOT EMBARRASS ME IF YOU'RE AROUND THOSE DAYS!"

Izuka raised a finger. "If, your mom does say yes. Although, I'm certain she'll be fine with it."

Katsuki nodded. "Good. We were talking about meeting up next week, after the next quirk tests."

Izuka nodded. "I'll be picking you up then. Sorry if I smell from my workout."

Katsuki turned to his work and grumbled on about his young aunt. Izuka smiled and picked up her phone, dialing his parents first so she could catch them before the fashion show.

)=(

Okay, shorter chapter, but I really like this dynamic with Izuka as the wacky aunt. Writing the dynamic between the two is really fun, and I cannot wait to make the next chapter.

The whole story is re-mapped out, with multiple sections before Izuka even makes it to the streets. So a little bit of OC action, along with exercises in the school as they start out their hero student careers.

The full list of sections would be as follows

Ground Zero

Training

Entrance Exam

First Days

Apprenticeships

The Burning

And finally

Off Grid

These sections are set up to have each of the characters develop a bit more before they become villains, or, anti heroes.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy reading

Sushui Out.
