Episode 1: The Burst Warrior and the Psychic Loner
Michael is inside his cabin on a cruise ship heading for Kanto as he's sleeping in his bed with his Vaporeon named Mandy is sitting on the bed with her napping peacefully. Soon the redhead can hear a whisper in his head making him wake up from his sleep. "Damn it that was pretty bizarre," he said.
He looks over to Mandy seeing his pretty water fox yawning with her stretching out her limb for she goes up and licks him in the face. "Hey stop it. Good Morning Mandy," He yawned as he rubs the back fins making her coo in happiness.
Michael gets out of bed only in his boxers for him to head inside the bathroom with a pair of clothing. He quickly finishes up and sits on the bed for Michael to see a box his mother gave him. He lifts it to look at a clear gem with a mini image of a Gallade inside it. He can remember what his mother said about this.
-Flashback Begins-
Michael is in his room packing up his things with his Pokemon helping out as his mother Lily comes in. "Michael, you got everything you need?" she asked as he nods his head. "Wow, time does fly, your 18 years old and heading off," Lily said feeling sad for her son leaving her.
"Hey mom, I need to fly like a Dragonite and seek out the world, and besides I'll be back before you know it," Michael said.
"Of course, you're a man now. You need to make your mark on the world," Lily said as she goes back into the kitchen to grab a box and handed it to him when he gets out of the room. "Since you are going to Kanto, I want you to have this," Lily said.
"This was the thing dad grabbed from his last journey," Michael said as she sees him have a frown on his face.
"Before he disappeared he wanted you to use it when you're grown up and he said you need to go to Vermillion Museum where our old friend Professor Bane can assist you," she said as she also gives him his ticket for the cruise.
"I'll check it out, I'll call you when I get there," he said as he hugs his mother. She returns it by kissing him on the forehead.
"Be careful, keep your Pokemon close, and say hi to Leaf for me," Lily said as Michael heads off with a bag on his back, a suitcase filled with supplies and clothes, and his trusty Vaporeon by his side for his life is open to new beginnings.
-Flashback Ends-
Michael thanks fondly of his mother as he wonders what happened with his dad, "Wonder what's so important about this thing?" he said as he tosses the gem up in the air repeatedly out of boredom as his mother mentions his best friend Leaf who now lives in Kanto.
"Been months, I can't wait to see you again," Michael said as Vaporeon hops onto his lap caressing her moist face on his cheek. "Glad you're as happy as I am to see her," he said.
The cruise line is in the middle of the ocean heading for the Kanto Region, "A day to go before landfall." Michael and Mandy walk through the ship enjoying the sights.
Meanwhile, deep in the night in the city of Vermilion City, a Pokemon Center is filled with people healing up their Pokemon and Nurse Joy helping them out. "Okay everyone, one at a time," she said as a group of 6 people enter the building with trench coats with the leader going towards the security guard.
"Sir, what do you want?" he asked as the leader gives him a smirk.
"Pokemon, can you let us have some?" he asked as the guard laughs at this.
"Is this a joke, if you want Pokemon? Go catch some yourself," the guard said as he places a hand on his shoulder.
"I asked nicely but you are too stubborn," the leader can see the man suddenly have a deep pain on his face. The guard sees the leader with a pistol for he's been shot in the stomach. Nurse Joy cries out in terror for the squad leader blasts the guard in the head with blood and brain matter escaping out of the exit wound.
The other five pull out SMGs and start mowing everyone down leaving a massive amount of carnage with the remaining guards trying to fire back. One of them calls out a Beedrill and it fires a bunch of stingers for them piercing through their heads leaving the place defenseless.
The Leader walks up to the Nurse, she presses a button under the desk but the Leader smirks at this. "Sorry sweetheart we got that covered but we need your Pokemon for experiments," the Leader said shoving his pistol onto her forehead for she feels defenseless with her body paralyzed in fear.
"No, I can't let you do that," Joy said with each of her words filled with fright as they look at her crouching down.
"Look at you, like you're going to piss yourself," the 6 grunts laugh at her with her feeling completely humiliated.
"No witnesses?" a grunt said as the Leader has a grim smile.
"Of course," he quickly fires a couple of rounds into her skull ending her existence with her fresh corpse slowly sliding against the wall until it hits the floor. "Grab what we can and then the real fun begins later," the leader ordered for them to raid the Pokemon's center's vast treasures. "Another victory for Cipher," the leader said like a motto.
Meanwhile, morning has hit as Michael is sitting on the deck watching the wondrous view of Vermilion City with the ship about to dock at the port. Michael goes down the ramps to see the city is strangely empty. He looks around as if it looks like a ghost town.
"What the hell happened here?" Michael said as he can hear a loud voice for him to turn around seeing a female friend Leaf.
"Hey Mike, what's up," the young woman said looking about the same age as Michael. She reaches him as she kneels catching her breath. "I'm so glad I caught up with you," she said.
"Yeah, did you get taller?" Michael said which is he sees the brunette is about 5'6 tall and her brown hair has gotten to her shoulders.
"Looking good there Michael," Leaf said spotting Michael's spiky red hair, green eyes, and standing 5'9 tall. "I bet there is a girl in this port waiting for you," Leaf taunted him making him blush.
"Stop being silly," Michael said as Leaf giggled. "I'm heading for the museum, you want to come along?" he asked as she happily nods her head.
"Sure, we can catch up," Leaf said as they walk through the city.
"Hey Leaf, what's going on here? Why does the city look dead?" he asked confused by this.
"You didn't hear there was a robbery at a Pokemon Center. It was completely awful, even Nurse Joy got popped in the head," Leaf said having sympathy in her voice as Michael understands the situation.
"How many people died?" he asked.
"About over 200 people, stole every Pokemon in the center even the ones left on the corpses," Leaf said feeling disgusted at the mere thought.
"Do they know who's behind it?" he asked.
"On the news, they showed footage of six guys but it's unknown who they are," Leaf said as they manage to find the Vermilion Museum for them to enter the building.
They get greeted inside the lobby by a desk recipient. "Mr. Aria, Professor Bane is expecting you. Meet him in the Museum Archives. It's up on the second floor to your left," she said.
Michael and Leaf go upstairs as Leaf is getting curious, "Why does Bane want to meet you?" Leaf wondered.
He takes the box out of his bag and shows her the gem with the mini Pokemon inside it. "My mother wanted me to have this check out to see what it is," Mike said.
"Wow, it's very pretty and it has a mini Pokemon inside of it," Leaf gets handed the gem to inspect it looking at the Gallade. "Quite nice, what does it do?" Leaf hands him back his gem.
"It's something my father wanted me to have and I'm here to ask the Professor about it," Michael enters the main library to see Bane on top of a ladder looking for some books. "Hey Professor, I'm here," Michael shouted noticing a 40 years old man with black hair, tall stature, and a tanned skin tone.
"Michael, glad to see your face," Bane slides down the ladder to give the young man. "Good to see you here safe and sound my boy; after what happened the town is on alert," Bane said looking at Leaf with her waving her hand.
"Hey Doc Bane, what's up," Leaf greeted him.
"Good to see you too Leaf, you are turning to quite the young lady," Bane said as he sees Mike holding the box with the gem Bane is quite fascinated by this.
"Do you know what that is?" Mike asked.
"Of course, it's what we call a Burst Heart. Your father has found something very rare," Bane said as the two are quite interested.
"Why is it so rare and why I was told to use it?" Mike asked.
"Well, there are only 6 gems like these in existence and this can allow you to merge with a Pokemon within the gemstone," Bane said as the two young adults looked at the professor with a mix of confusion and amusement.
"Doc, are you jerking around with us," Leaf said with hints of skepticism. Bane chuckles at them understanding their confusion.
"I'm not joking around; these Burst Hearts are rare pieces of technology and have the capabilities like a Poke ball but instead of releasing Pokemon for batting. You use it to morph with it to turn into a Pokemon-Hybrid able to use all the Pokemon's abilities and powers," Bane explained as the two are quite impressed.
"That's amazing," Mike said awestruck by the gem with Leaf having mutual feelings about it.
"Is there any limit to what kind of Pokemon it can store?" Leaf asked curiously.
"Nope, from tiny Caterpie to massive legends like Kyogre; it can hold anyone within its crystal prism," Bane said as he goes fetched something from his desk.
"Wow, this is amazing I'm so jealous," she said as she is happy for her friend. Mike is quite confused by this.
"Why does my father want me to do this?" Mike said as he feels a comforting hand on his shoulder with Leaf giving him a caring stare.
"Quite perplexing isn't it?" Leaf said. "The power of a Pokemon in your fingertips," Leaf keeps him at ease.
"Yeah," Michael whispered as Bane has a glove in his hands with a slot on top.
"Your father wanted me to give you this in the event you have the gem with you," Bane said as he gives him the glove. "It's very old; it'll allow you to use the gem's power. I want you to try it out to see how it works," Bane said as he can see Mike slip on the glove in his right hand putting the small gem in the slot. "To use it, shout out Burst to voice activate it," he said.
Mike takes a deep breath and raises his hand in the air. "Burst," he said at the top of his lungs as the gem glows brightly. Michael kneels on the ground having pain pouring through his very being with his DNA shifting.
Leaf is staring in wonder and also worry. "Mike, are you okay?" Leaf said with deep concern.
Bane waves his hand to let her know to not worry. "Don't worry. He's okay, his body is just bonding with the Pokemon inside the gem" he said as Michael's body is molding to look like a Gallade with his arms having elbow blades, his head having a teal-colored head crest, and spikes on the sides of his face. "Remarkable, you made it with flying colors," the professor said as he is truly impressed by this.
Michael rises with power flowing through his body and his senses being overwhelmed. "This is incredible," he said as he can hear whispers from the minds around him hearing Leaf's mind.
"Wow, he's almost like a superhero," Leaf thought thinking Michael looks pretty cool in his new form as Mike grins at the comment.
"Thanks, Leaf," he said impulsively as Leaf is quite shocked by this.
"Oh yeah, you have psychic powers now," Leaf said as she is laughing feeling awkward in the process.
"Through it, you will grow through every battle. So, use it when things get pretty tough," Bane said. "I had made agreements with a hotel for you to stay. Enjoy okay," the professor said as Michael reverts to his normal state.
Michael is on his knees with Leaf helping him up, "Thanks Doc. We'll see you in the morning." The duo goes out into the main lobby to head out the door. "We should rest up at the hotel and try to enjoy ourselves," Leaf trying to be upbeat with Michael agreeing with her.
"Yeah, do you have your Switch with you Leaf?" he asked as she pulls out her blue Switch with a smile on her face.
"Yep and I'm going to kick your ass in Mario Kart," Leaf gives him a goofy grin.
"You're on Leaf," Mike said as he puts the gem away in his backpack for them to head off.
A man is looking from the shadows watching the two go away with him looking over the museum. "Sergeant Evan, we got the target in our sights," the grunt said.
"Good, survey the area. We'll attack in the dead of night," the sergeant said on the radio,
"What about the Gym Leader Surge?" the grunt asked.
"I'll handle the jerk off soon and this town will be defenseless," Evan remarked for Cipher's forces to get ready for an attack.
Leaf and Michael are having a blast with Mike in the lead in the race as Mario and Leaf as Yoshi coming in at 2nd place. "I'm going to win, I'm so close," Leaf focusing on winning the course.
Mick noticed he was dragging behind and kept going until Leaf passed by him with a Golden Mushroom hitting the finish line making her first place. "Tada," Leaf raises her hands in triumph.
"Damn it," Michael is defeated as Leaf gives him a big smirk.
"Not bad for a girl right?" she said.
"I was distracted," Michael remarked as Leaf nudged him in the arm.
"Yeah right," Leaf said. "How's your mom doing?" she asked.
"Doing fine, still working in the lab," Michael said as Mandy brushes up against his leg petting her head. "She is working on perfecting the purifying process since Shadows still poke out here and there," Mike said. "Hey Mandy, are you hungry?" he asked as she nods her moist little head.
"Mandy is getting big," Leaf said as Mandy leaps onto her leap. "Who is a good girl?" Leaf said as she petted the Vaporeon's back. Michael hands her a treat as the water fox looks excited. She takes it by the paws and chews on it. "How is the Orre region? Still dusty as ever?" she asked.
"Yeah, it's pretty peaceful since Wes took out Cipher 4 years ago; no trace of them since," he said.
"Interesting, does anyone know where Wes went off to?" she asked.
"No, he just disappeared after the event and he has been gone for so long. People treat him like a legend, a hero that saved the Orre region and even the world from Cipher's wraith," Michael said. He always wondered about the young man as he vanished without any warning.
"Well, I bet, he is looking for remains of Cipher," Leaf said.
As it begins to get dark, suddenly the room shakes with a glass of water crashing onto the floor. "What the hell," Mike goes over to the window seeing explosions ripping apart the building. "It's like a war going on out there," Michael feeling worried about the professor goes out with Leaf and Mandy following behind.
Cipher forces appeared launching a surprise attack armed with machine guns and vicious Pokemon under their command. Sergeant Evan is shouting orders as the Cipher grunts aka Peons are spreading terror. "Head for the museum, we need to grab that gemstone for the boss," the leader said.
"Sir," Peon soldiers rush towards the museum but a shower of lightning zaps them into oblivion.
"You think I'm going to let you run through my town? Not a chance in hell," Lt Surge appears standing on top of his Magnezone.
"Serge, it's the Gym Leader Surge," a grunt said on the radio.
"Take him down once this guy is down, this town is defenseless," the Serge said.
They fire their rifles as the bullets bounce off the electromagnetic shield of the Pokemon protecting Surge and Magnezone. A few Beedrills launch themselves at Surge but his Pokemon easily blows them away with a powerful Thunderbolt leaving them severely burned. The machine Pokemon sends arcs of electricity from its magnets torching the rest of the villains.
"Raichu, clean house for me," Surge tosses his Pokeball to reveal his Raichu using his speed to knock out the soldiers.
"I'm tired of this," the Serge tosses out his Pokeball calling forth Steelix. Surge noticed something weird about this Steel Pokemon as Steelix is consumed in rage with an unseen black aura empowering Steelix. "Prepare Surge for the byproduct of Cipher's might," the sergeant said as the Pokemon roared in anger at the Gym Leader.
Michael, Mandy, and Leaf appear outside the hotel seeing Pokemon and troopers wreaking the whole city. "Oh, this is not good," Michael said as he equips the Burst Glove for they are approached by several Cipher Peon soldiers.
Leaf tosses her Pokeball and summons a Castform onto the field. "Back us up," Leaf commanded as the Pokemon summoned streams of fireballs setting the soldiers on fire while Mandy spits out water beams knocking the soldiers into the harbor.
"Burst Gallade," Michael said as he transforms into his Burst form as he pulls out his elbow blades. He uses his newfound speed to evade the Peons shots and shoves a fist into the chest of the enemy sending him flying across the pavement. Mike is looking at his hand feeling the power flowing through his body. "Fucking awesome," Michael said with his voice filled with excitement.
"A Burst Warrior, kill him in the name of Cipher," the Peon calls out a Beedrill ordering it to attack Michael. He moves his palm aiming it at the giant bee and stops it in mid-air with his new psychic powers. He pulls it in closer and uses his forearm blade to slice it in half spewing green blood across the ground.
He lifts the trooper and flings him into the water. "Cipher here. I can't believe this. Leaf I'm going ahead," Michael said as he goes ahead trying to find the museum with Leaf following behind.
Soon Surge is having trouble fighting the Steelix for the metal snake slams its tail against the Raichu making it crash into a building. The Steelix smashes its tail on the ground causing a pillar of stone to hit Magnezone knocking both it and Surge onto the ground.
"Our Shadow Pokemon once again proved to be superior to yours," the Serge ordered the Steelix to attack as the snake gripped onto the Surge's Pokemon with its massive jaw continuing to put pressure onto the Magnezone until hearing the cracks in the armor. The Steelix tosses the broken Pokemon with Surge feeling saddened both his Pokemon are dying.
"Damn it, you sick bastard," Surge cursed at him as Serge pulls out a pump action shotgun blowing off his legs with slugs. Surge's severed limbs spread lots of blood onto the streets.
"Guess all that training isn't worth a damn now huh," the sergeant draws his firearm and aims it right for his head. "Say hello to the Digletts for you," Serge said as he is about to pull the trigger but suddenly a blast of Psychic energy knocks the Peon commander away.
"Back off asshole," Mike shouted as Leaf checked the Surge's body to see if he was okay. "How is he?" he asked.
"He is badly wounded and currently knockout," Leaf said as the commander appear again with his Steelix ready to kill.
Michael notices a black aura surrounding the beast. "It's the same aura that a Shadow Pokemon has, no doubt about it," Mike said as his new psychic senses are kicking in.
"Interesting, how did a brat like you get a Burst stone? No problem, my beast will kill you and I'll take the stone back to the boss," Evan said as he orders his Steelix to lunge at the group.
"Castform, Fire Blast," Leaf said as the little teardrop spits a large fireball hitting the Steelix doing barely any damage.
"Pathetic," Evan said as the iron snake swings his tail scoring a hit on Castform for the little guy bounced across the ground getting injured. Leaf takes her Pokeball and recalls Castform back inside.
Michael rushes at the Steelix as he dodges the incoming strikes from his tail. He focuses as he gathers energy into his right fist, he barely avoids another swing. He leaps up and gives the creature a powerful uppercut making him jerk back onto his back. Mandy follows up with a strong Hydro Pump as the force of the water beam causes the Steelix to recoil back even further.
Leaf notices more Peons heading their way as she calls out her Masquerain. "Use Aqua Jet," Leaf ordered as the water bug covers her in an orb of water and tackled them at high speed gravely injuring the men.
The Steelix bashes Masquerain, Mandy, and Michael away with his tail as Mike charges up his elbow blade with energy. He rushes in bashing the Pokemon with his fists knocking it back with each blow and then swiftly slicing him with his blade. Steelix's iron face gets a large cut across the eye causing great pain to surge through the large beast.
"Now's my chance," Mike flings balls of psychic energy at a rapid pace knocking the Steelix backward making the male feel distorted. "Psycho Cut," Michael charges up energy into his forearm blades.
He swings his arms letting out several energy crescents slicing into the weakened Shadow Steelix. He then releases the last energy attack shaped like an X hitting its mark. Steelix feels a sharp pain going through his body until suddenly he violently burst apart piece by piece leaving him dead.
"Damn it," Evan draws out his weapon but Mike quickly disables him and punches him in the jaw hard enough to launch him into the streets.
"The Sergeant is down, let's get out of here," the few remaining Cipher forces retreated as the police begin to arrive with Michael reverting to normal.
"Glad that is over but man that was crazy with your psychic powers," Leaf said as the professor arrives thankful they are alright.
"Thank goodness, you are okay. Come back to my lab and tell me everything that happened," Bane said as he takes them to the museum with the police securing the area while medical teams pick up the dead and wounded including Lt. Surge.
They are within the archive area with the two tell him everything. "As I feared, Cipher has returned but why now after four years," he said.
"Must be payback time but they were interested in the Burst stone I have now," Michael said.
"Very interesting and the Shadow Pokemon have come back as well. Very troubling, I need you two to go to Saffron City and meet with a friend of mine. She works in Silph Co. HQ, she helped developed the purification machine along with your mother. We will need that, so we can help those Pokemon who are now enslaved by the Cipher," Bane said.
"Of course," Michael said as Bane hands him some cash.
"Hey my boy, I think your father had this in mind when he gave that stone to you. Using it to protect the balance that people like Cipher are more than willing to break," Bane said as Michael looks at the glove staring into the gem.
"Thanks, dad, still looking out for me," Michael said thinking fondly of him as he and Leaf go on their trip toward Saffron City.
"So, we are on a quest huh?" Leaf said.
"Yeah, Wes can't be here to stop them. Might as well be us dealing with these guys," Michael said showing her the glove.
"Well, I'm up for a little adventure. Ever since I help beaten Team Rocket years ago, it has gotten quite boring," Leaf said feeling excited at their new goal.
"That's the spirit," Michael said looking at the gem embedded within the glove. "Guess this trip is getting quite interesting," he thought as they head for the underground train station.
Meanwhile, in a disclosed location, a pink-haired woman is working within the labs seeing over testing tubes filled with water and Pokemon eggs. "Lovrina, what is the status of your work?" the Cipher boss asked through the speakers.
"Going quite well, Lord Greevil; the cloning process is a big success we have a few subjects that can be used for combat," Lovrina said.
"Good, we need to spread across the other regions and find our precious prizes. They along with the Burst Hearts are the keys to our domination over this world," Greevil said as Cipher's plans are in full swing.
Elsewhere in the dead of night on a hill far off from the city stands a mansion lit up against the backdrop of the dark shadows. A single person closes the door and heads for the road toward the brightly lit city with a cloak over her body to cover up her appearance.
She enters the city with the people on the street who recognize her as they are very uncomfortable around her. The young woman can sense their thoughts as every time she peeks inside their minds, all she hears is contempt for her existence. "What a freak," a woman thought.
"Her kind shouldn't exist," a guy said holding his child closer to him.
"She should just leave here forever," a teenager said as the young woman manages to head into the bookstore.
The cloaked girl goes through the lanes trying to look for a book she wanted. A guy out of town looks at the woman acting like he's looking for a book to look at her face under the hood of her cloak. He witnesses his piercing dark eyes, very white skin, and traces of black hair.
"Hey sweet cakes, how about you show me more of that pretty face," the guy said flirting with her but then another guy takes him away from her. "What's the deal, I was checking her out," the guy protested.
"Do you know who that is? She is the girl from on top of the hill living in the abandoned mansion," the man said as the guy is shocked by this.
"Wow, that's the girl from the rumors. I didn't know," the two guys creep away as the young woman goes on without notifying their existence. She picks up a book only displaying a small smile for it quickly disappears.
She goes up to the cashier and places it on the smooth wooden table. "This please," the young woman said in a monotone voice as the female cashier notices her blue eyes as she quickly rings up her purchase.
"Come again soon," the cashier lied as the young psychic picked this up and probe her mind. "As if, I hope she leaves forever," the cashier's voice echoed like inside a cave within her head.
"Typical," the woman goes out of the bookstore and goes out into the night holding the bag. "It's so tiresome," she said with a low pitch. She goes straight back to her house and begins crossing the street. Then a pulsing headache overwhelms her brain as she kneels in the middle of the street with a car about to hit her.
"Move out of the way," the driver shouted as the psychic's mind is racing with her emotions running high. She tosses an energy orb as it hits the car causing it to stop suddenly leaving a large dent with everyone looking in horror.
"What was that feeling just now," the girl said as she can see the image of a young man around her age becoming a Pokémon fighting a vicious Steelix. "That can't be real, I must be crazy," the girl thought as she sees everyone bombarding her mind with negative thoughts. she is still having heightened emotions unable to shield her mind from the assault of mental negativity.
She goes off in a hurry with her mind pulsing with pain as she reaches the outskirts of the city as her mind is at ease. "Master are you close by?" a Psychic Pokémon touches the woman's mind.
"Yes Lily, I am coming back," she said through their mental link.
"Which book did you get Kendra?" she asked.
"I got the one with the history of Pokémon legends, it finally came in. I'm looking forward to reading it," Kendra said having a small smile on her pale face.
"Oh good, what's wrong? I felt you were in pain?" Lily asked.
"I had a vision of a young man who was a Pokémon: a Gallade," Kendra said.
"Impossible, Kendra are you sure it was you having an episode?" Lily asked feeling worried about her.
"No, I'm fine," Kendra said as she feels it was too real. "That guy is a fantasy I made up in my mind but it was too real," Kendra said as she heads down the street trying to avoid contact with anyone going back to her mansion on top of the hill in the south.
In the middle of the night, Leaf and Michael are going underground right by the ticket kiosk. Mike inserts the coins and grabs their tickets. "Looks like the train for Saffron will be here in 5 minutes," he said looking over the platform to see if the train was inbound.
"Man, this is crazy. Cipher is back and hell is breaking loss," Leaf said.
"Yeah, but we need to meet with Professor Swan in the main Silph CO. building. I hope her purification chamber works," Michael said as the bullet train arrives quickly with people exiting out of it with everyone else going inside.
The two stand in their spots as the train is crowded. "Watch it Leaf, there could be perverts on this train," Michael said as he remembers his younger sister always being hit on by the high school boys and in some cases getting peeked under her skirt.
"That's pretty sweet but you don't have to worry about me," Leaf said as an older man looks over at Leaf checking her slender frame forming around her white tank top and green miniskirt.
"Hmm, what a lovely girl," the man said as he licks his lips getting himself into position wanting to grope her.
Michael is a few inches away as he ponders over what happened today. "These Burst Hearts, what did my dad find out there? And this is supposed to be ancient tech, in our modern society we couldn't make. What did I get myself in too?" Mike thought staring at the glove with the jewel in the middle.
The train is underground under the ocean fast heading for Saffron. Leaf pulls up her smartphone and puts sound buds in her ears as the pervy man approaches right behind her. He notices she isn't paying attention as he lifts her skirt looking at her panties. "Mmm blue, so good against her ass," the man thought lustfully wanting to touch her.
Leaf is enjoying the music until she feels something on her butt. "What the hell?" she thought as she turns around seeing the man groping her ass with her grasping in shock.
"Such a nice soft butt, you got there. How about you come with me further back," the man whispered in her unplugged ear sending a chill up her spine.
She gives out a massive shriek bringing attention to them as she knees him in the poke balls. "You asshole, this isn't some porno you sicko," Leaf scolded him as she got closer to Mike with the people silently condemning his actions.
"Never wear miniskirts on a crowded train, Sis always gets them from old assholes," Mike said.
"She's 16 now; of course, some perverts would want panty shots or grope her butt. Bunch of old farts," Leaf said as she fixes her skirt. "Not like you want to look down a girl's cleavage," Leaf said slyly.
"Well yeah but I don't act upon it if it makes her uncomfortable," Michael said.
"Oh, how gentlemanly of you," Leaf teased him as he has a blush on his face.
"Knock it off," Mike said as Leaf giggled at his face.
"Relax, when you get a girlfriend. You can go treat her like a dainty little flower," she teased as they go toward Saffron city.
Soon they made it to the vast metropolis as they walk up the steps seeing the people looking stressed out. "They must have got word of the attacks, I can't blame them for feeling like that," Michael said.
"We should go to the corporate building," Leaf said as they go through the streets to see the large skyscraper in the distance.
Mike and Leaf can go up to the front door to see a clerk at the desk beside the door in the lobby. "Oh, are you Michael and Leaf right?" she asked.
"Yes," he said.
"Good, Professor Swan is waiting for you. Take the lift up to the 34 floors and she'll be in her lab," she said pointing to the elevator.
"Thanks," Leaf said as they enter the lift and head up the floors for them to see the city through the elevator's window to see the bright light of the buildings lighting in the nighttime. "It looks beautiful, does it?" Leaf asked.
"Yeah, it's a true sight to behold," Mike said enjoying the view as they got onto the desired floor. They enter a lab where several scientists are walking around with a bright red-haired woman on top of a ladder checking her files.
"Hey kids, you finally got here," Swan appears to jump off the ladder wearing her lab coat. "Glad you made it in one piece," Swan said.
"Of course, Doc Bane mentions you have a purification chamber we can use?" Mike said.
"Yes, come with me," Swan leads them into a room where a large glass chamber is in the middle of the room. "This will come in handy in your adventures," Swan said as he grabs an item from the crate to show it to Mike.
"Hey, is that a Snag machine?" Michael asked as he remembers it was used by Wes 4 years ago to cleanse the Pokémon.
"Yep, you will need to take back the Shadow Pokémon and bring them here to be cleaned. Then I will send them to the Pokémon Center to be taken care of," Swan said as Mike grabs the machine to put it onto his right arm to put it in place.
"Like a glove," Michael said with a grin on his face as Leaf shakes her head at this.
"Well, you two should be off. You can rest at the hotel nearby, I will contact you when I find Shadow Pokémon," Swan said.
"Of course," Michael said as they went outside to head for the hotel to see a crime scene where there seems to be a car crash with everyone looking shocked and horrified.
"What happened here?" Leaf asked one of the bystanders.
"It's that girl Kendra, she was causing havoc again. I don't know why the police just kick her out of here and put her in a mental ward," the man said.
"Kendra, I haven't seen her in a long time ever since the accident at the Gym," Leaf said.
"You mean that Saffron Gym you fought some years back," Michael said.
"Yes, she used to be one of her followers. She seems pretty creepy but is a quiet reserved girl. I don't think she would do this with malicious intent. Hey, do you know where she is?" Leaf asked.
"She is in her mansion on the outskirts of the city. Don't bother, a powerful Gardevoir is guarding the place," the guy said moving away.
"We are going there," Michael said.
"Yep, we need to know from the Ponyta's mouth. You scared?" Leaf asked teasing him.
"No, I am not, so she isn't a Gym Trainer anymore?" he asked.
"Four years ago, just around the time, I got my Marsh Badge. There was an accident where Kendra was fighting in a Pokémon battle, Kendra got caught in the blast of the opposing Pokémon's attack. She got launched into a wall and then she lost control of her powers to flatten the entire building almost killing everyone," Leaf said remembering the news reports and the image of the Saffron City gym in total ruins.
"Really, why would they get mad over an accident," Michael said.
"They are afraid of her power, there are very few psychics within this world. Kendra seems like one of the strongest around Kanto and people fear the unknown," Leaf said.
"Damn Kendra got it rough," Michael said having sympathy for the young woman. "Hope we can lend a hand for her," Mike said.
"Always being the nice guy, come on," Leaf said as the duo go down the road with them checking their poke balls. They each have six on their belts to be ready if the guardian Pokémon would be a problem.
"I wonder what she would look like?" Michael wondered as he never saw Kendra's face before but he did know about her from Leaf when she was on her journey to become a Pokémon Champion and stop Team Rocket's plans.
"She's pretty but a bit of a gloomy person," Leaf said as they go out of the city to go down the dirt road leading to Kendra's mansion with the moon high in the sky beaming down light onto the surrounding areas.
They go down the road until they see a looming mansion in the distance within a grove of trees. "Man, that place has seen better days," Michael said.
"Indeed, we need to look out for Kendra's personal Gardevoir," Leaf said as they approach the grounds to see a gate that looks very rusty and old. They draw out a poke ball readying for the opponent to show up.
They suddenly felt a gust of wind as they roll away from an energy blast to blow apart a tree into pieces. "Leave this place at once," a strong refined voice echoed within their minds.
"This must be the welcoming wagon," Leaf said.
"Look, we just want to talk to Kendra and clear some things up," Michael said as they see a slender form floating down from a tree to land on the grass.
"Liars, you want to harm Mistress Kendra. I will not allow it," the Gardevoir said within their minds to get into combat stance with her hands glowing green beginning to use her telekinesis.
Leaf tosses down her poke ball to summon Castform onto the field with Mike getting Mandy onto the grass. "Guess we have to beat her down to calm her nerves," Leaf said as her Castform is resting on her head.
"Let's do this," he said as the enemy Pokémon is grabbing trees with her mind to uproot them and throw them at the duo trying to crush them. They dodge out of the way as Castform is shooting bubbles colliding into the Gardevoir as she waves her hand to brush them away with a slight psychic gesture.
The Vaporeon is spiting several water beams trying to keep Gardevoir on her toes as she is using her graceful footwork and light psychic pulls to dodge her attacks. "You have to do better than that," Gardevoir said as she is firing psybeams with Vaporeon and Mike dodging them as Castform is putting up a wall of flames to protect himself and his trainer.
"Thanks, little guy," Leaf said as the duo gave each other a look. Castform is casting his power onto the multiple puddles of water surrounding Gardevoir to become water orbs to slam into the psychic Pokémon catching her off guard.
Mandy jumps up and swings her muscular tail to knock the hostile Pokémon backward to follow up with a powerful Hydro Pump to send her flying onto a tree.
"Castform, use Rain Dance now," Leaf said as Castform fired a ball of energy into the dark sky to summon a bunch of rain clouds above the mansion. Leaf's partner changes into his water form as her Castform is firing bubbles and water beams with Vapereon jumping into a puddle to melt away within the water-soaked grass.
"Foolish," Gardevoir said as she is reflecting his attacks away with her psychic waves with her striking Castform with a telekinetic shove and grabbing Leaf by the throat with her power ready to choke her out. "You will not hurt my Mistress, she will not suffer anymore as long as I live," Gardevoir said as Leaf is holding her throat trying in vain to stop the invisible hand.
Michael tackles her to knock her away as he brings up his Burst Glove. "Burst Gallade," Michael said to be surrounded by a bright light to merge with his Pokémon within the Burst Heart to strike the Gardevoir to send her across the grass.
The hostile Pokémon uses her telekinesis to stop herself and land back on her feet to see something quite off-putting. "Wait what?" Gardevoir questioned to see Michael looking much like a Gallade/human hybrid with the elbow blades and a green crescent on his head giving it away quite easily.
"I will not let you hurt my friend," Michael said as he connects with Leaf with his newfound psychic powers. "You alright?" he asked giving a comforting sense to her mind.
"Yes, I am fine. Thanks, I thought I was a goner," Leaf said trying to laugh it off.
"Good, let's push this," Michael said as he goes onto the attack launching energy crescents and psychic shoves with Gardevoir blocking with her powers and dodging using her dance-like footwork.
"A human who can become a Pokémon," Gardevoir said as she recalls her Mistress's visions of this but brushes it off thinking it was nonsense. "Is this some kind of trick boy with a ghost or other psychic type," she said as they trade beams of psychic energy with them canceling each other out.
"Nope, all heart and guts," Michael said as he fires a beam with Gardevoir using her Psybeam as well. The two attacks cancel each other out causing a big shockwave to blow back the trees as this causes Kendra who is deep in her sleep to wake up sensing a spike of psychic power from outside.
"What is going out there, hope Lily is okay," she said letting out a yawn to get into her nightgown to check out the window to see Lily battling a group of Pokémon with it suddenly raining.
"Time to get serious," Michael said as he mentally calls Mandy as she emerges out of the wet grass to swing her tail to knock back Lily catching her off guard to fall into the wet grass to vanish from sight.
"Indeed, Squirt come out to the party," Leaf tosses out a poke ball to summon her first partner to be a Blastoise sitting beside her. "Okay Squirt, use Withdrew," she commanded as he pulls into his shell and hardens his shell. "Time to play whack a Pokémon," Leaf said as Michael lifts the big turtle shell with telekinesis and launch it at Lily with her blocking the impact with a psychic barrier.
Michael slams down the Blastoise's shell making a strong impact and causing the Gardevoir to lose her footing. Mandy leaps out of one of the puddles to tackle Gardevoir and fires a close-range Hydro Pump making Lily recoil across the ground to hit the gate.
Lily bounces off the gate with Michael engaging her in close-range combat with him exchanging punches, slashes, and kicks while Lily is using barriers and psychic influences to evade his strikes. Lily strikes his mind as she stuns him making Mike get onto his knees.
"Damn it," Michael said as Lily is creeping into his mind.
"You will not hurt my Mistress," Lily said as Kendra looks on to see the young man from her vision.
"Wait a minute, he was in my vision. The young man who can become a Pokémon," Kendra said as she begins to go outside to see the duo fighting each other.
"You are strong," Michael said as he whips up his arm and blast her with a strong psychic burst knocking her away and shaking off her mental probe.
"How are you so strong?" Lily asked sounding very confused as she is Kendra's most powerful and skilled Pokémon.
"The bond between me and Gallade is why. It fuels the power of the Burst Heart," Michael said. Lily is confused by this as she lifts her hand to blast the clouds to part them away letting moonlight shine onto her thin frame letting her heal the wounds and power herself up.
"Nonsense," Lily said as she begins conjuring lots of orbs of moonlight circling her.
"She got a lot of fight in her," Leaf said as Blastoise and Castform are bracing for a fight.
"You got that right, we just want to talk with Kendra," Michael said.
"You will not get to her," Lily said as she felt a powerful presence within her mind.
"That is enough," Kendra said with a soft yet commanding voice making Lily stop in her tracks.
"But Mistress…" Lily is about to protest but Kendra stays firm with her command. "As you wish," she said as she obeyed and goes to the side to rest against the gate still guarding her master. She steps outside the gate to see Michael's form. She is pleasantly surprised to see him.
"So, he was from my vision. He is real," Kendra said as Michael looks upon the young woman to see she is quite beautiful and about a year older than him.
"Leaf is right, she is kind of creepy but pretty cute," he thought as she was pretty tall at 5'8 tall with her cool blue eyes matched with her pale white skin and long raven black hair that reaches her rear and dark bangs covering her forehead. His eyes wandered to see Kendra's shapely hourglass frame fitting her silk black gown that reaches just about her tiny feet.
Kendra felt his eyes and mind on her figure feeling quite bashful with Michael reverting to his human form.
"Oh, I am sorry Kendra," he said as they put their Pokémon away.
"It's okay, it's nice to not be looked at like a freak. Why are you here?" Kendra asked with a neutral frown on her face.
"Well, we passed by the car accident that the people said you caused. We wanted to know if it was a mistake," Leaf said.
"Yes; it was, I was having an episode and I manage to stop the car in its track hurting someone in the process," Kendra said.
"So, it's like an accident," Michael said as they didn't think she was a bad person.
"Well, those people don't care about that," Kendra said sounding bitter.
"It must be hard," Michael said as she senses deep sympathy for her for this comforts her.
"I wonder if there is a purpose for him being here," she thought. "Do you want to come inside?" she asked as Lily is confused by this as well as the duo.
"Mistress why?" Lily asked.
"I would like the company, let's head inside," Kendra said as they let the duo comes in with Lily guarding outside.
"She is quite protective," Leaf said.
"That is a gross understatement," Michael said.
"Yes, we had rough occasions in the past. She is on her sharp guard of our home against strangers," Kendra said. "What is your name?" Kendra asked.
"I am Michael," he said sounding friendly.
"Michael huh," she said putting the name to the face within her vision. "Leaf, I remember you from four years ago when you were challenging the Gym Leaders," Kendra said.
"Yeah, seems like your Pokémon got way stronger than before," Leaf said.
"Of course, Lily has been guarding my home for the past four years from multiple people who want to do me harm," she said. The duo comes in to see a wide-open lobby area filled with lots of junk and stuff on the walls and floors. "Forgive the mess, I didn't bother to clean that up," she said switching on the lights.
She guides them to a very fancy but dusty-looking living room to see a nice red couch for them to sit down on.
"Do you need anything?" she asked.
"Some tea and cookies would be nice," Leaf said.
"Excellent, I will bring it at once," Kendra said as she goes to the kitchen to fetch some snacks.
"Man, this place feels so empty," Michael said as the stillness is quite unsetting within the vast mansion.
"Indeed, her parents were killed in a car crash several years ago making her the only one of her family to own the place," Leaf said.
"Seems very sad," Michael said looking at the doorway to remember her voice before sounding very lonely.
Kendra is gathering snacks to feel a bit of warmth within her heart. "These people seem to want to help me rather than treat me like something they can toss aside," she said as she remembers Michael giving her a suggestive look which made her face feel warm. "He seems nice," she thought as she senses no ill will but only curiosity from him.
She comes in to place the food and drinks onto the table to sit on the couch beside Michael for they see lemon tea and strawberry cookies on a silver platter.
"Please enjoy the snacks," she said as the duo thought the cookies look pretty good.
"These are tasty," Leaf said as she took a bite out of one with Mike agreeing with her.
"There are homemade, I made them yesterday. I still have enough left, so enjoy," Kendra said as she takes a bite out of one. Michael sees her sporting a sweet, reserved smile enjoying her treat for he thought it was quite cute to see.
"So good," Kendra thought as she felt something in Michael's presence for he felt happy to see her smile and she felt good about that. "So why are you in Saffron City?" she asked.
"We are here to grab a tool that will be useful for our mission," Michael said.
"What kind of mission?" Kendra asked sounding interested.
"You heard of Cipher?" he asked.
"Oh yes, I heard from the international news a few years back. They were a big criminal group within Orre Region. They were turning Pokémon into killing machines, such terrible people," Kendra said having empathy for the poor Pokémon that were transformed.
"Yes, and Wes the local hero and personal hero of mine managed to beat them but he and his partner disappeared," Mike said.
"Oh, you are from the Orre Region?" Kendra asked.
"Yep, born and raised there," he said.
"Interesting," Kendra said as he wants him to continue.
"Now they have returned stronger than ever and they started showing up here in the Kanto region. They are up to something and have something to do with this stone," Mike said showing Kendra the gauntlet with the Burst Heart within it.
"What is that?" Kendra asked as she has a deep feeling of familiarity with the stone with a small Gallade within the center.
"It's a Burst Heart, its old technology that allows a Human and Pokémon to become one. A hybrid," he said as Kendra for her vision is making sense now.
"That's how you are doing it," Kendra said sounding very interested in this.
"Yes, the bond between Pokémon and Humans must be strong to make the fusion powerful. As they both work together in harmony, the fusion grows in power and skill," Mike said.
"I see, the gem's power grows from the bond of the Human and Pokémon. Sounds wonderful but I can only imagine Cipher wants to use it for terrible purposes," she said as she slips her tea.
"Indeed, that's why we are here to find out about the gem and what Cipher wants with it," Mike said.
"I see, I have something of interest. Follow me," Kendra said as they take them to her basement to see even more junk everywhere.
"You are quite the packrat Kendra," Leaf said.
"Indeed, my parents collected a lot of things over the years but this is one item that is quite the find," Kendra said as she finds a small chest to open it to reveal the contents. The duo was quite shocked by this.
"That is a Burst Heart, where did you find it?" Mike asked.
"My parents found it on one of their trips overseas and brought it back. They never knew what it was," Kendra said.
"This is awesome, we need to get it to check out at the Sylph Co HQ," Michael said.
"It's a sounded idea, me and Lily safeguard it here," Kendra said.
"Sounds good," Leaf said as she noticed Kendra is looking quite fondly at Mike.
"Hey Michael, can we talk in private for a moment?" she asked.
"Sure," he said as they go into the guest room with them sitting on the bed. "What do you need to tell me?" he asked as Kendra looks very nervous.
"I had a vision about you and it was you fighting in your hybrid form against a mad Steelix," she said as Michael's eyes widen at this.
"That happened not too long ago. You have a cool gift," Mike said. This made Kendra drop her guard against his kind comment making them feel a bit meek.
"That is a new one, some other person would think it's weird," Kendra said as he suddenly takes her small hands into his own to look into her cool blue eyes. She can feel the focused gaze as its making her flush from both his gaze and his firm grip on her hands.
"I think it's cool and you're not weird Kendra, those people are the weird ones," Michael said as his kind words are seeping into her heart.
"Oh Michael," Kendra thought as she lowers her head. "Hey Michael, do you believe in fate?" she asked.
Strangely enough, he ponders this for a moment to give her the answer as he looks at the glove with the bright gemstone on top. "You know my father found this on one of his trips. He wanted to give this to me when I was old enough but he disappears before he saw that happened," he said as Kendra feels sympathy for him to show him a soft smile.
"Sorry for your loss, I can relate to that," Kendra said.
"Thank you, anyway I was given this and its connection with Cipher. My dad wanted me to use this to help people and stop Cipher not just within our home region but the world at large. In short, I believe in fate because I was meant to do this and continue the work Wes started," he said as she felt the deep passion in his voice which moved her lonely heart.
"Very interesting, with this Burst Heart along with your being in the same place and it made me realize something," Kendra said as her soft voice is becoming more animated. Lily detects this within her flaring aura feeling like a bright star within Michael's presence.
"What is it?" he asked as they remember they are still holding hands for he pulls them away to not make her feel uncomfortable but strangely enough Kendra didn't mean the brief gesture at all.
"Ever since I was born and given these powers, my life was hard. I lost a lot of things in my life and I am living the life of a reclusive shielding myself from the outside world. You are a blessing Michael, the fire you have shown reminds me of when I was driven in the past. I want to correct this by helping you defeat Cipher," Kendra said as her voice is still gentle yet firm with a conviction for this impressed Michael quite a bit.
"Are you sure about this?" he asked as her face is filled with understanding to nod her head.
"Yes, I want to prove these people wrong. I am not a monster," Kendra said as she felt him putting his hand on her skinny shoulder to look her in the eyes.
"That is what I am talking about," Mike said with a big grin which Kendra made very happy.
"So, I can go with you?" she asked with the cutest smile Michael laid eyes on for he can't resist the gentle expression she was making.
"Of course, I don't think Leaf wouldn't mind another strong trainer on our side," Mike said as Kendra bowed her head in gratitude.
"Thank you so much, you will not regret this," she said.
"Trust me, with a face like that. Only a fool would be regretful," he said with a low tone for this made Kendra's cheeks blush from his sweet comments.
"Well, it's settled then, do you have a place to sleep?" she asked.
"Nope, we were going to head for the hotel," he said.
"Don't, you will be my guests here in the mansion," she said as he shows a big grin.
"Thanks, that's sweet of you. I will tell Leaf about this," Michael said as he goes out the door with Kendra holding her breath for she was so nervous within his presence. She flops onto the bed with her heart beating against her chest and her mind feeling lightheaded from his warmth.
"This feeling, I don't know what it is but it feels very good. I didn't feel this good in a long time," Kendra said sporting a smile. Lily felt this as she is quite happy as well.
"So, my Mistress is smitten with this human male and he manages to light the passion within her again. I guess I was wrong on that vision of hers," Lily said as she is under a tree to look at the window where Kendra's room to smile at it. "You deserve it, Mistress," Lily said as she watches to protect her master and her new friends.
Meanwhile, a disguised Cipher ship is docked within Vermillion City's harbor with the lieutenant checking his peons to get a call from Lovrina. "Hello there, my merry men and women, how is the operation on the Sylph Co. HQ building?" she asked.
"Madam, we are doing some recon on the main building and see if we can find anything useful," the lieutenant said.
"Good, keep me posted soldiers. We have a world to conquer," Lovrina said with a sweet smile as she cuts off the phone line.
Elsewhere within Kendra's mansion as Kendra is coming into one of the guest rooms to check up on Michael who is sounded asleep. "Oh, he is still asleep," she said as she looks on to watch him peacefully sleep for she grins at this.
"His hair is messy," Kendra said brushing aside a lock of his red hair from his face as she got close to him just wanting to see him sleep which is quite pleasant to look at. "You are so strange but I guess we are birds of a feather," Kendra whispered.
"Hello Mistress, what are you doing in our guest's room?" Lily asked as this made Kendra turn around to her Pokémon at the doorway with the young psychic looking quite embarrassed.
"Oh, I wanted to wake him up," Kendra said as Lily shakes her head.
"You can't hide anything from me," Lily said as Kendra frowns.
"Okay, I wanted to see him sleep, that's all," Kendra said.
"Gotten a crush on him huh?" she teased her making Kendra's blush grow redder and showing a meek expression.
"I guess, it's new to me and it's confusing," Kendra said as she was never interested in a guy before until she meets this strange yet kindhearted redhead.
"Just let it develop naturally and you two will be closer," Lily said as Kendra sighs at this. "What is wrong Mistress?" she asked.
"I am taking romance tips from a Pokémon, I am so pathetic," Kendra said as Lily pats her on the back.
"Okay Mistress, you should show that boy your good cooking skills," Lily said.
"Alright," Kendra said going into the kitchen as she puts on an apron and wipe up a good meal for her new friends.
The duo comes into the dining room in their PJs to get a nice smell filling up their noses. "Wow this smells great," Leaf said as they see three plates of waffles topped with butter, strawberries, and maple syrup with some bacon on the side.
"I hope you like it. I made them myself," Kendra said.
"Really?" Mike asked.
"Yes, it's better to eat something homemade. Feels more wholesome," Kendra said as she sits beside Michael. "How does it taste?" she asked.
"It's pretty yummy," Leaf said.
"It's good, you are a great cook Kendra," Michael said as she glows in the face from his nice comment.
"Thank you, enjoy," Kendra said.
"I wonder your Gardevoir's name is Lily?" Mike asked.
"Yes, after the flower," Kendra said.
"I think it suits me fine," Lily said.
"That is my mom's name, small world," Michael said.
"Indeed, it seems," Kendra said as she changes the subject. "So, when are we going to meet your contact?" she asked.
"Well within two hours," Mike said as within two hours Mike and Leaf are dressed up in the lobby waiting for Kendra.
"I am ready to go," Kendra said as she steps down the stairs for Michael looks floored by the young woman.
"Wow," he said sounding speechless to see Kendra wearing a nice dark blue knee-length dress with a black jacket over it and brown knee-high travel boots. Her tall curvy frame especially her ample 38H bust, ample bottom, and slender waist fit well against her outfit.
"Hey Michael, how do I look?" she asked looking bashful to notice his mouth is hanging out with his eyes staring at her bountiful bust.
"Hey Kendra, I think you broke him and you didn't need your psychic powers to do it," Leaf said as Mike sighs to look at her pretty blue eyes.
"You look like a true lady Kendra," he said trying not to look at her chest again.
"Thank you, should we be going?" she said as she has a purple messenger bag by her side with a pouch in the back holding her poke balls.
"Right," Michael said as they go out of Kendra's mansion with her holding the Burst Heart in her bag.
"You look nice as well Michael," Kendra said as Michael's travel outfit consisted of a yellow shirt, blue pants, red sneakers, black fingerless gloves, and a blue bandanna on top of his hair. He has a backpack and his portable snag machine on his right arm.
"I got to look super cool when I am fighting evil," Mike said striking a silly pose as Kendra smiles at this for his goofy act is amusing.
"I like your dress Kendra," Leaf said.
"Oh, you look nice as well Leaf," Kendra said as Leaf's travel outfit is made of a green top, white skirt, green sneakers, and a white hat.
"Yeah I look pretty cool," Leaf said giving a friendly wink.
"Hey Kendra, you got a disguise that helps you not draw attention?" Mike asked as Kendra grabs a pair of dark-tinted sunglasses to put into her face and pulls her long hair into a bun to use hairpins to hold it up while pulling up her hood.
"Perfect," she said.
"Indeed, let's go into the city," Leaf said as the trio head within the metropolis to see it's as busy as ever with the sun high in the sky beaming down warmth into the streets.
Kendra is beside Michael as she sees the people are not looking at her with scornful eyes. "You are feeling okay Kendra?" he asked with his voice filled with concern.
"It's nice to walk out here without being hounded," she said.
"Time to meet with Professor Swan," Michael said as they reach the main Sylph Co HQ building to enter the lobby to talk with the desk clerk.
"Mrs. Swan is willing to see you," she said as they go into the lift to get to the floor where the professor's lab is located.
"Michael and Leaf good to see you again and so soon. Lady Kendra is here as well," Prof. Swan said as she noticed the raven-haired noblewoman hiding under her dark sunglasses.
"You got me," Kendra said as the Professor has sympathy for the young woman.
"Don't worry, you are safe here," Swan said.
"Thank you, madam. I am grateful," Kendra said bowing her head in respect.
"So, you found another Burst Heart?" she asked as Kendra takes the stone out of her bag and hands it to her. "Wow, Lady Kendra, you got one alright," she said to see nothing is within the gem. "Interesting unless Michael's gem, yours is empty," Swan said.
"How do you put a Pokémon inside?" Leaf asked.
"It's like a Poke ball, just point it and a Pokémon will go into the gem but it's a one-way street and will be locked in stasis. You must pick your Pokémon wisely, Kendra you will keep it since it's yours," Swan said.
"I can become like Michael," she said as the thought is quite exciting for she kept this feeling within and nods with a faint smile.
"Good but you need to use a glove like Michael in other for you to make it work," Prof. Swan said as she takes the gem to begin doing some research on the gem with the trio within the lab.
Outside on top of a nearby roof, one of the Cipher grunts is looking through his binoculars to spot the gem within the professor's hands.
"Boss, they got another Burst Heart within the labs," the grunt said.
"Good, we need to capture it and deny them an edge against us. Prepare to capture the building," the lieutenant said on the radio.
Back within the building, Kendra is sitting on a chair with Mike beside her. "Hey Michael, I have to ask you something?" Kendra asked as he looks into her blue eyes through the dark-shaded glasses.
"What is it?" he asked.
"What was it like merging with your Gallade?" Kendra asked having a look of curiosity for Mike thought is quite cute.
"When I first merged with him, I was deep within the gem and talking with him directly," Mike said.
"That's very interesting. Can you tell me how it turns out?" Kendra asked with her gloomy frown turning into a sweet, reserved smile as Mike can't resist that cute expression.
"Well, it was strange but comforting. When I first merge I saw the Gallade within the Burst Heart and he shared my will to help protect the world against evil like Cipher. Then we bond together and became the fusion," Mike said as Kendra is wide-eyed amazed by this.
"I wish I can do that," Kendra said as she looks over at the gem in the corner.
"You just need a glove and Pokémon willing to go into the Burst Heart. You will be set to go," Mike said.
"Okay," Kendra said as she goes up from her chair to head off to look at some of the research.
"Hey there," Leaf said sitting by a chair nearby.
"So, you two are getting cozy," Leaf said.
"Oh, it's nothing," Mike said acting coy.
"Oh, come on, you were giving each other the goggling eyes," Leaf said teasing him as he blushes.
"Quit it," he said as Leaf giggled at this.
"You were sneaking peeks at her chest when we were walking down the road right?" she asked as Michael looked meek as he was staring at Kendra's big bouncing chest as they move with the sway of her shapely body.
"They were so big and bouncy," Mike said blushing from Kendra's ample chest teasing him within his mind as Leaf sighed at this.
"Oh Mike, what am I going to do with you," Leaf said as they hear popping sounds in the hallway outside.
"What was that?" Michael asked as the door is blown open with a few Cinder grunts appearing with guns and hostile Pokémon.
"Okay lady, hand over the Burst Heart," the grunt said as they all get shoved onto the wall with Kendra's and Lily's psychic powers to knock them out with three Muks rushing at the duo.
Kendra tosses another poke ball to summon her Swoobat as she commands it to release a blast of sonic waves to stun the three enemy Pokémon with powerful noises. Michael brings out his Vaporeon and Leaf summons Lucario onto the field with Mandy firing a beam of water to knock the Muk onto the wall knocking it out. Lily strikes down the second Muk with a telekinetic blast to see its body blow into a ton of wet pieces. Leaf's Lucario rushes in to tackle the last Muk to let out a close-range energy blast to scatter its body across the floor.
"Are you okay Professor Swan?" Kendra asked sounding concerned.
"I am fine along with the rest of the staff here," Swan said as the alarms go off in the whole building going into lockdown mode. "Cipher, they are trying to take over the building and the Burst Heart is the target," she said getting reports in her earpiece.
"Well, we need to take out the trash. I am going to guard this room and you two help security contain the situation," Leaf said as she summons the rest of her Pokémon into the room like her Castform, Blastoise, Togekiss, Golem, and Drifblim along with her Lucario forming a defensive circle around the room.
"Okay, let's go, Michael," Kendra said as Lily and her Swoobat are beside her with Michael coming ahead with Mandy guarding his rear.
"We need to take out the leader and the whole thing goes to pieces," Michael said as several Beedrills swarmed at them. Michael shouts Burst as she transforms before Kendra for she thought it was quite awesome seeing it take place before her very eyes.
"Wonderful," Kendra thought as Michael transforms into his hybrid form to slice down several Pokémon leaving behind corpses covered in green blood. He goes headfirst into a Machamp to grapple each other but he headbutts the muscular creature to let out a powerful psychic blast Vaporeon, Swoobat, and Lily unleash their range attacks to slam the fighting type Pokémon onto a wall breaking its back and killing it instantly.
A trio of Grunts wielding rifles as Kendra uses telekinesis to disarm them of their weapon to crush them with her mind. "Impressive," he said as Kendra smiles at this.
"I can handle myself in combat, it will be a great aid to you," Kendra said telekinetically shoving the three peons onto the ground.
"Of course, I am glad you are having my back," Michael said as she felt her cheek getting rosy.
"You can count on me," Kendra said as Mandy is unleashing explosive bubbles to tear through groups of Pokémon and grunts clearing a path for them.
Suddenly Kendra's Swoobat got hit in the wing by a bullet with red liquid dripping from her wound. "Oh, my poor Swoobat," Kendra said as she connects with the Pokémon's mind to make an air of calm within her mind easing her pain as Lily is healing the bat's wounds.
"Oh, we got the troublemaker from Vermillion City and the town freak," the lieutenant said as Kendra flinched at the insult with her disguise being exposed.
"You want the Burst Heart, you have to go through us," Mike said as he senses Kendra's thought to put her at ease.
"Of course, my name is Will. I will do that kid," Will tosses his poke ball to summon a Golurk onto the hallway for the looming ghostly golem appears.
"Great," he said as Kendra felt a deep void within the Pokémon with a mix of rage and hatred buried deep within its presence.
"What is this?" Kendra asked dumbfounded by its aura which is a deep shade of purple around it. "It's so empty," she said shaken by this.
"Oh yeah, you are sensing a Shadow Pokémon," Mike said as Kendra understands the full weight of the Cipher's evil as a knot formed within her heart.
"I had no idea of the depths they would go," Kendra said as this got under her skin for the Golurk slams its metal foot onto the foot causing a mini quake making them lose their balance.
"Kendra, these Shadow Pokémon will show no mercy. They turn them into soulless machines and they will not hesitate to kill you, are you ready?" Mike asked.
"Yes, Lily and Swoobat time to fight," Kendra ordered.
"As you wish mistress," Lily said as they are ready for a fight.
"I will equal your Hybrid with my own," Will said as he pulls up a hand to show a glove with a gem on top as the duo are quite shocked by this.
"Wait a minute, you have a Burst Heart too?" Michael questioned but he noticed the Burst Hearts are red gems but the one within Will's glove is a green gem.
"Our great leader has one of the six Burst Hearts. This is a copy but it's just as good, Burst!" Will shouted the word as he activates his Burst form to merge with Charizard.
Will appears with scales all over his brawny frame with large sharp dragon wings and a long strong tail appearing out of his back, talons are on his hands and feet, horns are on his head, and long fangs are out of his mouth.
"Prepare to die kids," Will opens his mouth to fire a ball of flames with Lily summoning a barrier to defend and deflect back at the two causing a big explosion that rips the hallway apart.
Will pops out of the dust cloud to tackle Michael sending him flying across the hall. "Michael?" Kendra said sounding worried.
"I am fine, I will take care of the Golurk while you fight Will's Burst form," Michael said.
"You want me to fight him in that form?" Kendra asked.
"Yeah, you were a strong Gym trainer. I have faith in you to beat his ass into the ground," he said.
"Yes, I will," Kendra said as she tosses a poke ball to conjure a Starmine as it fires a barrage of water beams.
"Oh please," Will said dodging the water beams as he flips his wings to unleash a big gust of wind to knock back Kendra, Lily, Swoobat, and Starmie. They all use their psychic powers to plant themselves onto the floor holding off the incoming flare ball with a wall of psychic energy.
They bounce back the attack with Lily grabbing Starmie via telekinesis. "Starmie use Harden," Kendra ordered as her starfish Pokémon hardens its body to make its edges razor-sharp. Lily tosses it with her mind to aim it at Will's left-wing barely managing to nick it leaving a bloody cut.
"Damn it," Will said as his body felt that blow as Starmie is behind the enemy hybrid to freeze him in place with telekinesis. Swoobat lets out a powerful sonic blast to knock Will off balance. Starmie uses a Hydro Pump to blast Will through a wall and into a large warehouse area.
"Follow him," Kendra said as they all follow the villain as Michael and Mandy are engaging the hulking Pokémon weaving through its punches. Mike slashes an incoming punch to cause some damage. He slides backward to see a rising black smoke coming out of the cracked armored fist.
"We need to make it flinch and snag it away," Mike thought as the Pokémon goes into a hard-pressed assault trying to hit them both. He rolls away with Mandy leaping onto his back to fire an Aurora Beam to freeze the damaged fist in a covering of ice.
Michael strikes the weak hand to make it scatter to pieces to strike it with telekinesis to pull it back toward him. He comes into mule kicking the armored shell and launching it across the hallway to crash into a wall.
The ghostly golem gets off the wall to transform into a ball to start rolling towards the duo. "Oh crap," Michael said as he braces himself to use his psychic grip to hold the ghost in place but its strength is overwhelming Mike's psychic grip with him slowly losing it.
Mike got an idea as he gives his Vaporeon the command as she shoots ice beams onto the floor cloaking it with a solid sheet of frost. Michael lets go of his psychic grip as the Pokémon is rolling uncontrollably into another wall to get stuck unable to pull out of the deep dent it made.
Michael moves towards his target with his elbow blades glowing green to close the gap. "Leaf Blade," he brings down his blades to cut deep into the Pokémon's armored shell leaving severe damage with lots of dark smoke coming out of its wounds.
"It's done," he said as he goes back to his human form to activate his snug machine to convert a poke ball into a snug ball and toss it at the wounded Pokémon. The ball connects and sucks the creature inside the ball to drop onto the floor. It shakes three times and it settles catching the Shadow Pokémon with no struggle.
"Yes, we did it," he said grabbing the ball and putting it away. "Okay time to help Kendra," he said as they go down the hallways. Kendra avoided streams of fire with her using her powers to knock them away along with her Pokémon attacking and defending.
"Why would you do this, turning innocent Pokémon into killing machines?" Kendra demanded as their actions disgust her beyond belief.
"We are going to change this world and these Shadow Pokémon are the keys to that," Will said as he charges up the energy to crash onto the floor as Kendra is bringing up a barrier to protect against passing fires tearing up the floors.
"You are all shameful, always with these pointless power struggles," Kendra said as she gets behind a crate with them all tossing heavy objects with telekinesis hitting the evil hybrid.
"Enough," Will lets out a massive roar that blows back everyone and everything within the vast warehouse. He rushes at Starmie to slash at it cracking the gem in the center and kicking it into a wall.
Will grabs Kendra's Swoobat to toss her onto the floor and stomps onto it knocking it out while it's bleeding from her wounds. Both Kendra and Lily pin him to the wall to strike at his mind causing intense amounts of pain trying to overwhelm him.
"Not on my watch," Will said as he opens his mouth to gather flames within it.
"Oh no," Lily said as she leaps onto Kendra for them both to fall onto the floor. A passing fireball hits the floor causing a big blast and knocking them both onto the ground. Another fireball comes in and Lily deflects it with a wave of her hand. "He is very strong," Lily said.
"Indeed," Kendra said as she felt a smile on her face as they both pin the man to the wall again via a mental lock.
"Not a smart idea," Will said as he felt a massive amount of pain coming from his back to see his wings were severed with blood gushing out of the open wounds. "What the hell?!" he shouted in agony and then got impaled in the stomach by an arm blade.
"Wow, that was fast," Kendra said feeling impressed as red is pouring down Will's chest.
"I manage to take down the Shadow Pokémon and captured it. Time to take out the trash," Michael said as he kicks the evil hybrid at the girls with Kendra and Lily combining their psychic blasts to enough force to knock him down and revert to his human form.
"We did it," Kendra said feeling triumph at her victory.
"See you still got it," Mike said as Kendra feels happy about him putting faith in her.
"I guess I do," Kendra said as Will is on the floor looking bruised and bloodied to see him wearing the Burst Heart glove which has a cracked gem on top.
"The glove looks fine but the Burst Heart lookalike is busted. Better have Professor Swan look at it," Mike said as he pulls out the gem to see the Charizard still inside unharmed. "At least he wouldn't be used like a tool anymore," Michael said as he hands Kendra the glove.
"Why are you giving me this?" she asked.
"It seems fine and it can fit the original Burst Heart too. All you need to do is find a good Pokémon and you can use a Burst form like my own," Michael said as Kendra holds the glove tightly.
"Fate seems to be pushing me in this direction," Kendra said as they see the lockdown has been finished. They went back into the lab area with Leaf giving Michael a friendly hug.
"Oh goodness, this is so crazy. Are you hurt?" she asked.
"No, but we managed. Kendra was amazing out there," Michael said giving her praise. Kendra felt her pale white cheeks get red from his sweet comment.
"I am just doing what I need to do," Kendra said sounding humble about it for them to go back to the lab area where Swan is safe and sound.
"Good work kids, Cipher is fleeing and the rest were tied up for the police to take in," she said as Mike hands her the fake Burst Heart. "Oh wow, this is very unexpected," Swan puts the cracked gem onto a scanner to see something that confirms her thoughts. "It has a similar energy signal but it's imperfect. They manage to copy the properties of the Burst Heart but it's very inferior," Swan said.
"So, Cipher got their own Burst Hearts. This will be terrible," Mike said as they prepare to leave to begin their quest to stop Cipher.
