Chapter 2: Days of Saffron
After the assault on the Sylph Co HQ building, Kendra and the others rest up at her mansion where she allows the others to stay in their guest rooms. Kendra takes off her outfit to put it to the side to be in her underwear to look in the mirror.
"Man, Leaf, and Mike went through a lot. These Cipher guys are quite serious unlike Team Rocket of recent years. Full on terrorism in their tactics and using poor Pokemon turning them into living weapons," she said as she presses her fingers onto her forehead to feel the pain of the Pokemon and the deep emptiness within its heart.
"It's insane along with Michael's great power to merge with his Pokemon. Now I can do it as well," Kendra said as she looks over to her desk to see the glove and Burst gem. She takes the gem to feel the cool texture of it as she thinks to wield great power and become something more.
"I need to think about this. Who do I want to choose to bond with," Kendra said as she takes in her body in the mirror to wonder something. "Yes, you already know Lily, Swoobat, and Starmie. They are a carryover from my days as a Psychic Gym Trainer in Saffron City Gym but now I focus more on Ghost Pokemon since I find them very charming despite people thinking they are creepy," Kendra begins to show off her crew of Ghost Pokemon.
"This is Gengar, he is my first Ghost Pokemon. I got him when he was a little Gastly and now he has become a powerful Gengar but he is a gremlin though," Kendra said as the ghost Pokemon laughs at this in all good fun.
"Anyway, this is my Froslass," she said as her graceful, beautiful Pokemon bowed her head to meet her mistress's new friend. "I found her as a little Snorunt in the forest. She was scared and raise to become this little beauty here," Kendra said as she moves on to another Ghost Pokemon Mismagius who bows her head.
"This is Mismagius, she is quite quiet like me. I found her in the forest as a small Misdreavus and raised her," she said as she grabs a small doll-like Pokemon into her arms.
"This is Mimikyu, I found her in a dumpster all alone and abandoned. She is happy with her new family," Kendra said as she goes up to the window to open it to reveal Mike her Dragupult.
"Holy Crap, you got a Dragapult. These big boys are very strong, how did you get one?" Mike asked.
"It's a weird story, there was a guy who came at me on the sidewalk when I was going to the bookstore. He drops a bag onto my hands and left in a hurry. There was a weak-looking Dreepy inside the bag wanting a new home and I took him with me. Now he is here big and strong, he is great at scaring people off my grounds, I value my private time," Kendra said.
"Well, that is my whole Pokemon lineup. What do you think?" Kendra asked.
"Pretty awesome, all your Pokemon have been raised to their final forms. You are a remarkable trainer Kendra," Michael gives her great comments making her humbled by this.
"Thanks, all that training from the Saffron Gym paid off in the end. You all go relax," she said to give him a mental command to tell them to head into the forest and begin patrolling the area for anyone there. "Safety precaution," Kendra said.
"Let's walk around your mansion. You can show me around," Mike said.
"That is a good idea, I would love to show you around," Kendra said as they go through the hallway with it being gloomy and dusty.
"Seem this place has seen better days. No offends," Mike said as Kendra nods her head.
"No problem. It feels very homely and safe, I like it how it is. It's very lived in," Kendra said.
"I can see the appeal," Michael said.
"So, what kind of Pokemon do you have?" she asked to be curious about his selection.
"Well currently my best ones are my Vapereon, Garchomp, Scizor, Weavile, Braviary, and Golurk are the ones I am using now," he said as Kendra cooed at him mentioning Golurk.
"That ghostly statue is so cute," Kendra said as she is becoming more animated when talking about ghastly things.
"You can see him later when we have time," Mike said.
"So, did you have gyms in your region?" she asked as she knows he came from the Orre Region which is very far away from Kanto.
"No, we don't have those but we have Colosseums," he said as Kendra is confused by this.

"Yep, only the best in Orre can fight in these arenas and win tons of glory. I managed to win several Colosseums tournaments in my day as well as beat 100 trainers on Mt. Battle," he said.
"A 100 battles in a row?" she asked.
"In a set of 10 battles per session. I and my team did take breaks of course. I managed to complete the ultimate challenge in the region. Very few managed to do this with me being one of the top trainers in the region," Michael said.
"Impressive, no wonder you handle yourself so well in battle like a real pro," Kendra said to comment on his skill.

"Well, that is very rare. They are not native to the Kanto and Johto regions. Very interesting, she is a capable Gym Trainer indeed. Well, I am going to bed, and when I wake up. I am going to do some errands. Don't have too much fun with our gothic hostess," Leaf said as she walks away.

Elsewhere within the ship nearby Vermillion City acting as a command ship for the Cipher Admin Lovrina has her eyes on a certain Pokemon based in the area. "Some Legendries will be pretty useful," she looks over to her touchpad to see an image of Lugia who is her greatest project yet a completely corrupted Pokemon. "My Shadow Lugia is the perfect weapon and will be needed to corrupt over Legendries like a certain Time Dragon," Lovrina said.
She looks over Mewtwo on her pad to have her forces search the region for this powerful Pokemon and get it to her ship to be experimented on. Also, another Legendary Dialga is of great interest to her boss.
"The power of time at our fingertips. Cipher will change history and take this world for ourselves," she laughs as she is getting excited to turn Dialga into a Shadow Pokemon.
Morning has come with Leaf exiting the mansion to head out into the city to get a certain item that will be helpful for the coming battles ahead. "I hope they have these just in case we get into a bind," Leaf thought going into the city.

"Get ready to dig in," she said as the trio begin to eat their breakfast. "I wanted us to hang out at the bookstore. There are so new books I want to pick up," Kendra said as she bites into her piece of bacon.
"Sure, that would be nice. I need to spread out my legs. Check to see the mood of the city," Michael said as he drinks his orange juice.
"Good idea," Lily said as she feels Kendra is still anxious about it but steels herself. Soon enough they finish their meal for them to get into casual outfits.

"No kidding," Michael said as they go down the road to go into the city with life resuming to normal.
"Did the poor Golurk recover?" Kendra asked.
"Yep, the good folks at Sylph Co and Professor Swan are working their magic. We send them all the Shadow Pokemon I steal and get them healed with the machines," Michael said.
"Thank goodness, those Pokemon were filled with rage and hatred. Pokemon are not like that in their natural state," Kendra felt saddened by Pokémon's condition.
"They will take good care of it and be sent back into the wild where it belongs," Michael said.
"Thank goodness, oh this is the bookstore I go to. They have great selections here like manga, research books, and other stuff," Kendra getting pretty excited to drag Mike into the shop with Lily following after them.

"I need two for Gallade and Gardevoir," Leaf said.
"Oh, the Knight and the Mage of that Pokemon line. I don't have them in stock but it will take a week to come in via special orders," the shopkeeper said.
"Cool, I will be back in a week," Leaf said as she exits for she worries they will need them against more powerful Shadow Pokemon who could be Legendries which Cipher has controlled in the past.
Back with Kendra, Michael, and Lily as Hexy grabs more books to put them into a pile on a table with Kendra going higher on the ladder.

Froslass is beginning to chill the air making it harder to push further. "Gee it's getting colder all of a sudden," the second guy said as the first guy looks over into the corner to see shadows moving weirdly.
"Someone is following us," the first guy said as the others dismiss him.
"Don't be a coward, there is no one here. It's deathly quiet," the third guy said as Mimikyu is resting on the dirt road just waiting for them.
"Hey what is that thing?" the fourth guy wondered as the group of men started getting unnerved by the creepy-looking paper doll.
"Someone must have left it here," the third guy said as he picks up with the first guy not being sure about this.
"Don't touch it," the first guy said as the third guy is looking it over. Suddenly Mimikyu unleashes a ghostly wail that echoes throughout the misty forest scaring the daylights of the group. The First guy is leaving in a hurry. "Screw this, I am getting out of here," he went off in a hurry.
Gengar swiftly comes out of the ground to use his Scary Face unleashing a powerful illusion. This scared the first guy so much to cause him to faint and drop to the ground. They rush over to see they can't wake him up.
"Gee what is going on here?" the fourth guy wondered as Mismagius summons blue flames to surround to heighten the fear within these trespassers.
"Don't panic, this is some sick trick," Dragapult phases out of the ground to appear before them as they are unable to know what this creature is.
"What the hell is this?" the second guy wondered as Dragapult unleashes a mighty roar to trigger them to run in the opposite direction.
"Let's get out of here," the group rushes out of there with their fallen friend in hand. Lily is on top of a tree to sense they are getting out of the area.
"Good, they don't have to bother the Mistress today. I need to be more careful with Cipher around, defenses are needed," Lily thought as she returns home with the Ghost Pokemon enjoying the night in the spooky forest.

"Yes, but they were harmless. The others scared them away," Lily said.
"Good, I can go to sleep," Kendra said.
"Oh, Leaf told me that we are going to a farm to the north of Saffron City. There are sights of a vicious Pokemon attacking his Miltanks and we need to capture it. Michael thinks it's a Shadow Pokemon," Lily said.
"Really, well we should check it out later," Kendra said.
"Sweet dreams Mistress," Lily said as she goes to the living room to rest up for the fight together.
Elsewhere Lovrina is looking over the progress of her Shadow Pokemon to see one of her experiments raiding a local farm to the north of the city. "Seems like they are not getting the hint," she said as she gets one of the Elite Peons on screen.
"Yes madam," she said as she gives her a salute. "What is your command?" she asked.
"Hey Grace, we need to set an example for Saffron City to show we mean business. I need you and a team to assault the newly rebuilt Saffron City Gym and kill Sabrina. Show them how powerless they truly are," Lovrina said.
"Of course, they will not know what hit them," Grace said as she prepares to assault the Saffron gym and take Sabrina's life.
In the morning, Michael, Leaf, and Kendra head outside the city to head north. Lily is following behind to watch out for any threats around them. Michael checks out his snag machine latched onto his right arm to see if it's in working order.
"Make sure we can catch this thing and send it back to Swan," Michael said as they hear a powerful roar in the distance.
"What type of Pokemon did the farmer say it was?" Kendra asked.
"It's a Scolipede along with a bunch of Venipede and Whirlipede it leads to eating up the Miltanks," Lily said.
"Those species are not native to Kanto," Leaf said.
"Seems like Cipher is going through some fucked up experiments," Michael said.
'Indeed," Kendra said as they soon arrived at the farm to see endless fields of wheat and Miltanks grazing on the grass on the open field.
"They are so cute," Leaf said as they go up to the farmhouse to see an elderly man waiting for them sitting on his rocking chair with a Growllithe beside him.
"Morning youngsters, so you came to fulfill my request?" he asked.
"Yes sir, we are here to take care of your problem. TO capture the Pokemon who is killing your Miltanks," Leaf said.
"Indeed, it's very strong looking and very dangerous. You three seem to be capable Trainers and will be able to handle hopefully," the old man said.
"Of course, where did the beast go?" she asked as the old man points to the forest nearby.
"Be careful," he warned as they go into the thick forest to see sights of a dead Miltank for its been ripped apart. Its guts planted the trees nearby as the rotten smell overwhelms their senses.
"Oh boy, this little cow suffered a bad fate," Leaf said.
"I know right, the Shadow Pokemon have torn it into pieces. Beating it against the trees," Michael said.
"The rotten smell has a nice sweetness to it," Kendra said.
"It does but it's a ghastly sight," Lily said as she feels something is coming. "We got company," Lily said as she unleashes a beam of psychic energy to turn a bug Pokemon into a green bloody strain. Swarms of Venipede are coming in from the ground to treetops with Kendra summoning Froslass as a backup for Lily.
Froslass conjures orbs of ghostly energy to smash into the bugs crushing them under her powers. Michael tosses his Braviary to unleash a gust of wind to blow away the Venipede to smash into the trees leaving behind green everywhere.
Leaf tosses her Poke ball to reveal Lucario as she pounds away at the swarm with punches, kicks, and powerful waves of energy. Kendra and Lily hold down several Venipedes on tree trunks via telekinesis with Braviary and Lucario taking them down with strong strikes spreading their guts onto the trees.
"Use Icy Wind," Kendra commands for her Froslass to conjure a gale of frozen winds to freeze lots of Venipedes. Kendra and Lily use their telekinesis strikes to blast them away leaving green icy pieces on the ground.
Michael looks over to see a bug trying to tackle him but he rolls out of the way. Kendra has a Venipede latch onto her back. "Your back," he said as Kendra uses her mind to push the bug Pokemon away.
"Thank you," Kendra said as she sees Whirlipedes speeding towards them. "Look out," Kendra said as they dodge the incoming strikes which would have turned them into red paste if taken a hit. Kendra uses a psychic grip to hold the rolling Pokemon in mid-air and slams it into a tree to burst into gore and green blood.
"Dazzling Gleam," Lily unleashes a barrage of magical lights made of rainbow colors to seek out several Whirlipedes ripping them apart. Braviary summons a whirlwind to suck up the rest of the bugs to get hit with ice moves and psychic moves.
Lucario kicks the last Whirlipede into a tree to be dead on impact. The target approaches and lunges at Lucario to knock her flying into the tree. "That is a mean bug," Leaf said as the raging beast is spitting out globs of poison. All the humans got behind trees to avoid getting hit with Lily putting up a psychic shield to block the incoming projectiles.
Both Lily and Kendra can sense the dark aura around the Shadow Pokemon. "This is our target," Lily said as Braviary, Froslass, and Lucario go to aid Lily in combat to rush at the raging monster.
Braviary uses his talons to slash into the big bug but Scolipede hits the big bird away to strike Braviary with a stream of purple poison. This move knocks the bird onto the ground with Lily coming to his aid with Froslass and Lucario holding off the beast.
Lucario uses an Aura Sphere at close range to slam into the chest of the Shadow Pokemon to knock it away. Froslass uses Shadow Ball to further damage the beast with Michael activating his burst Heart to go into his Burst State to aid in the fight. Kendra and Leaf go over to Lily to help the bird.
"Is he okay?" Leaf asked.
"He didn't get poisoned but he took a big hit. I got this, Heal Pulse," the Gardevoir's hands glow green to flow energy into the Braviary rapidly healing his wounds.
"You can heal?" Leaf asked.
"Yes, it's very handy," Lily said as she raises her hand to unleash a ball of psychic energy to slam into Scolipede to stun it.
Mike goes in to punch it several times and knocks it into a tree with Lucario using Iron Tail. She powers up her tail to make it as hard as steel to slam into the beast to knock it onto the ground. Lucario uses a Drain Punch to connect and absorb some of its power weakening it further.
The Scolipede unleashes a barrage of poison with Mike, Lucario, and Froslass avoiding it. Lucario and Mike head into the treetops and Froslass teleport away from the attacks. Mike and Lucario get the drop onto the punch of the big bug at the same time in the head.
Froslass phases through a tree to unleash an Ice Beam to hit the mark to do some critical damage. Mike uses his elbow blades to unleash energy crescents to crave into the damaged exoskeleton. Lucario swoops an Aura Sphere into her paws for she leaps at the Scolipede. She shoves the energy orb into the Shadow Pokemon to dig through the shell with green blood pouring and knocks the Pokemon into a tree to knock it out.
"Okay," Mike reverts to his human form to use his Snag Machine to turn his Pokemon into a snag ball to take the wounded Scolipede being able to capture it with three shakes. "Yes, we did it," Mike said as he grabs the ball to go over to check his Pokemon.
"Don't worry Michael, your Braviary is safe and healthy. He wasn't poisoned," Lily said as Michael gets Braviary back into his Poke ball.
"Thanks, Lily. She is very versatile," Mike giving praise to Lily and Kendra's training.
"Thanks, she is very flexible in her role. Making her even more dangerous, we should go back and tell the owner about our finished work," Kendra said.
"Yes, job well done. Another Shadow Pokemon have taken down," Leaf said as they goes back to the house to see the old man having a smile on his face.
"You managed to take care of it. I heard all the fighting even from here," he said.
"Yes, we captured and your Miltanks are safe now," Leaf said as the old man nods his head.
"Perfect, I knew I can count on you. This is your payment of about 50,000 Poke Dollars for your troubles," he said as he hands them the cash.
"Thank you, sir. Have a good one," Leaf said as Michael and Leaf felt good about the amount they had gotten.
"This is awesome, we can put this in a travel fund," Michael said.
"Decent amount, thankfully I still have the money left over from my folks. I don't have to worry about money," she said.
"How about you put it in the travel fund? Cipher is a global operation if we need to go. We need a lot of money to keep us supported," Michael said as Hexy nods her head.
"Understandable, I will start pouring funds into a separate account we can all draw from in the future," Kendra said as Michael pats her on the back.
"Good looking out Hexy, so reliable," Mike said as his bright smile makes Kendra's face glow red in the face.
"Damn it, that goofy grin of his. Makes me so weak," Kendra thought placing her hand between her boobs to feel her heart feeling very fast. They head back to Kendra's mansion for their mission is completed.
Elsewhere Sabrina is in the house to look at her photo of herself and one of her students Kendra. "Kendra, your power overwhelmed you to destroy my last gym. Now it's the time for me to confront her and settle this," she said as she prepares to head for Kendra's mansion.
