CHAPTER 2: The entrance exams
My Hero Academia world, Musutafu city [19:42]
After getting out of the school, Luffy found himself traveling in the back of a metallic box with wheels while his "temporary guardians", as they call themselves, were in the front seats. Through the window, he was observing with wonder and curiosity all the big buildings made of glass as well as all the different people that were walking down the street. The pro-heroes saw him like a child on Christmas morning.
"So, Luffy, you don't have anything like this in your world?" Asked Hizashi
"No, there are big buildings but they are not made of glass like those. We also don't have these metallic boxes"
"These metallic boxes are called cars, Luffy. But don't worry we will explain you everything you need to know before going to the entrance exams. We will start tomorrow after we buy you new clothes at the mall"
"Huh? Why we have to buy clothes? That's boring!"
"Because you need to look like everyone else here. We don't want other people to know that you are from another world, at least for now" Replied Aizawa with a tired expression on his face.
"It's still boring. Can't I explore the island while you go there? You can buy those things without me"
"No Kid, you need to come with us" Insisted Hizashi
"But…"
"If you behave well I'll buy you meat after shopping"
"Then I'll go. SHISHISHI" Replied now a happy Luffy.
I believe we have discovered how to tame this brat. Thought Aizawa as he looked at Hizashi, who have come to the same conclusion as him.
A few minutes more passed in the car, and in that time both pro-heroes tried to answer the stupid and not so stupid questions that Luffy was blurting out of his mouth without filter. He didn't stopped talking until he saw how they parked the metallic box near a big two-floor house with a pretty garden that surrounded the entire property.
"Well, this is our home" Said Hizashi "I hope you like your room. Although it doesn't have too many things, we didn't know we'll have a new inquiline, much less someone like you. But we'll buy everything you'll need tomorrow"
"Woahh! It's big, I like it" Exclaimed Luffy when he finally entered the house "And don't worry I don't need much besides food. I can sleep everywhere too" He said before he let out a big yawn. He was really tired.
"Luffy" Intervened Aizawa "Why don't you go and take a shower in your room and then go to bed? You must want to sleep, today was really tiring"
"Yes, but why I have to take a shower?" Asked Luffy with an annoyed voice
"Because I said so"
"That's not fair" He whined.
"Life is not fair. Now, go to the bathroom and wash yourself"
"Don't wanna" Said Luffy with a firm voice
"If you don't bath every day as I said there will be no more meat for two weeks" Aizawa threatened with a dark look on his face.
"You are a meanie"
"Luffy!"
"Aaahh... Okay okay, I'll go. Man, you are worse than Nami"
"HAHAHAHAHA. This is fun!" Hizashi laughed "Come on Luffy, be good with him. Don't you see he is too old for this?" He said as he punt a hand on the boy's shoulder
"What the hell are you saying now? we have the same age, idiot" Yelled a mad Aizawa. However, this had the opposite effect expected since Hizashi and Luffy started laughing at him.
"Don't be so angry Shota. Remember that if you keep making that angry face you'll age faster" The other said looking at Luffy with a mischievous smile.
"SHISHISHISHISHI"
"Aaahh" Aizawa sighed What have I done? He now wanted to go back time and hit himself before he accepted to take the boy home. "Kid go to sleep, tomorrow we'll continue talking, your room is in the second floor, the one with a blue door"
"Aye, aye. I'll go" He replied, still giggling "Good night, guys"
"Good night, Luffy" Answered Hizashi
Once the boy went upstairs, he turned to the couch where he saw Shota with his eyes already closed. He sat next to him, and after a moment of silence he finally said "Thank you"
"For what?" The other asked
"For giving in on this. I know you don't like noise and the kid is not exactly the quiet type" He said before hearing a loud bang coming from the second floor "Hahahaha, And I have feeling that he's not the tidy type either" he laugh quietly
Aizawa smiled, before opening his eyes slightly "Don't worry, I've already have practice with annoying and messy people" He said looking at him
"Luffy was right, you are a meanie" He replied as he hit the other in the arm
"Besides…" Aizawa continued "…this is a good way to practice"
"True" He said as he also rest his head on the couch.
My Hero Academia world, Aizawa and Hizashi's house [9:28]
"Come on Luffy, wake up! We have a lot of things to do today" Hizashi yelled from the kitchen.
He was just finishing making breakfast while Aizawa put the plates on the table, when a sleepy and shirtless Luffy came through the door scratching his head. He was going to take a sit when he noticed the pro-heroes looking at him awkwardly.
"Huh? Why are you staring at me?" Said a confused Luffy.
Both pro-heroes were watching with big eyes the huge scar that was across his chest, with one question on their head. How did he get that?. Of course they saw it yesterday, but without his red vest it looked even more prominent.
"Eh, nothing. Come here kid, let's eat before going to the mall" Hizashi said trying not to stare too much.
"Yes! I am so hungry"
The pro-heroes looked at each other before sitting in front of Luffy who was already swallowing all the food.
"Luffy" Called Aizawa.
"Yeah?"
"I don't know if we can ask you this but, how did you get that scar?" He asked
And as they have expected, the reaction to that question was simply silence. Luffy stopped eating, his face turned serious and his eyes lost a little of his usual liveliness. While he was thinking what to say, Luffy raised one hand to his chest to rub lightly his wound; he then opened his mouth to let out a heavy sigh.
"I got this when my brother Ace died in a war" He finally said.
At that answer, both adults inevitably adopted expressions of surprise, pity and above all remorse for making Luffy remember something like that.
"Luffy, you don't have to…"
"Nah, It's okay" He interrupted him recovering a little of his smile before continuing. "My brother was a pirate like me and was captured by the marines so I went to save him. But when I finally freed him my body paralyze in the middle of the battle because I was too tired. Then one of the admirals saw me and tried to kill me, but my brother took my place and died instead of me. I don't remember what happened next; Torao said I fainted so I think I got this scar while I was knocked out"
Once he finished, Hizashi, felling worse for have been staring earlier, said "I am sorry, Luffy"
"Ehh? Why? You don't know me so it's okay if you ask." He said with confidence as he swallowed a big piece of meat "Besides, I owe you that. You are buying me food because I don't have berries right now, so I can only pay you back with answers" Luffy then smiled wider than before, letting both adults sigh with relief, although they knew Luffy was still a little sad after touching that topic.
"Well, kid, now that you mentioned money, I hope you can repay us when you find the One Piece, maintaining you won't be cheap" Aizawa said trying to lighten up the mood.
"SHISHISHISHI" He laughed "Of course, but if you want money you will have to talk to Nami."
"Who is Nami?"
"She is my navigator and she is the best. But she likes money too much. All the crew, except for Robin, Chopper and Jinbe, owes her a lot of money SHISHISHI" He laughed again "And every day she comes up with a new way to make us owe her even more"
"HAHAHAHA, that sounds interesting" Said Hizashi, happy that Shota's plan worked. "Why don't you tell us about your crew?"
"Alrigth!" He exclaimed, finally forgetting the sadness from before.
The rest of breakfast passed pleasantly with Luffy talking non-stop about his nakamas and the adventures they had lived together. To Aizawa and Hizashi those people seemed anything but boring; from the reindeer that is the doctor of the ship, to the living skeleton that plays the violin; to them they were all too unique to get a dull moment.
Apart from that, in the pro-heroes' eyes, it was also a very chaotic crew, to say the less, but one with a very strong bond too. The way Luffy talked about them or what they have done for each other reflected a deep sense of loyalty, trust and friendship that is very difficult to archive, especially with a group of individuals with so much differences.
One hour later, once they finished chatting and cleaning the table, they decided it was time to go to the mall to buy Luffy everything he needed for the upcoming year. From causal clothes to academic supplies and even a phone that they will teach him how to use.
However, this was, without exaggeration, a real nightmare to Aizawa; he was already used to Yamada's energy but he was not prepared to deal with that energy multiplied by two.
Imagine. On one hand we have Hizashi; a man that, although he knows at which shops they have to enter to buy what they need, he has the habit to go to every other shop that happens to be open just in case, as he says. Especially, when it's a clothing store. At the end of the day, you see the poor Aizawa running behind his partner while he carries all his shopping bags.
And, in the other hand, we have Luffy; a very impressionable nineteen-year-old boy that comes from another world and finds everything that surrounds him new and exciting; so, naturally, like a little kid, he goes to everything that captures minimally his attention. It just has to be said that he spent half an hour going up and down the mechanic stairs, over and over again until Aizawa had to drag him away by force.
Fortunately, after almost four hours of shopping they were ready to go home, much to Aizawa's relief.
"Luffy! Go down of that tree. We are leaving!" Yelled Hizashi.
"Okay, I'm going!"
He rapidly jumped down, startling a couple of people that were near him, and started running towards his friends, but then he heard a voice calling him from an alley between two of the shops.
"Hey boy" Said a man with platinum hair, white t-shirt and ripped jeans.
"Are you calling me?" Asked Luffy disconcerted
"Yeah, can you come here? I need your help"
"For what?" He asked not fully trusting the stranger
"Oh! Aaah, Because…" I need to come up with something. "Because I dropped my glasses to the floor but I don't see enough to find them" He finally replied.
"Okay" He simply answered, he was too naive in situations like this.
However, as he entered the alley, with his observation haki, he quickly detected two other people behind the trash containers. This confused him, if that man had his friends there, why did he call him?
"Hey, why don't you ask those two to help you"
The criminal, taken aback by what the boy said, felt anxious and did the only thing his small brain could think of at that moment. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at Luffy. Brilliant. "You should have stayed quiet boy" He said before calling the other two men.
"Now give us the wallet" Demanded one of them. We need to get more money for tomorrow. If not, the boss is going to kill us.
"I don't have a wallet" He replied bluntly. Luffy didn't like those guys, they strangely reminded him to the bandits that tried to bully Shanks' crew.
"And then, how did you pay for the things you have on those bags, brat?"
"The guys who I am living with bought the things for me"
"HA, do you think we are idiots? Now, hand us the money before I put a bullet in your skull" He threatened him. But before Luffy opened his mouth again, two voices came out from behind
"I would put down that gun if I were you" Said Aizawa as he entered the alley. Incredible, I leave him alone for a moment and he is already in trouble. Aaaah…, I want to sleep.
"Luffy, are you okay?" Asked Hizashi with four guards behind him.
"Fuck" The blonde man said. What do I do now? He said to himself, only one idea coming to his mind. The criminal, lead by his nervousness, grabbed Luffy by the collar and put the gun directly on his head, not knowing that now it was him who was in real danger "Let us go or I'll kill him"
"How about you let the boy go and I don't send you to the hospital with four broken ribs" Threaten Aizawa activating his quirk.
The situation was tense, everybody could feel it except for our captain "Man, I am bored" He whined, oblivious of the situation he was in "Hey you, get of me before I kick your ass"
"Shout up now or I'm gonna…"
"Aaah…, so annoying" Luffy whispered. He didn't want to use it here but it was the faster way to finish this.
"W-what-…" He tried to respond, but suddenly a wave of extreme fear ran through his body making him rigid and incapable of talk, and that could only meant one thing; Luffy activated his conqueror's haki. A small wave of his willpower was then released making the criminals feel so terrified that they were petrified on the spot. What is happening? I am feeling like the air is missing.
Nobody moved an inch and the next thing that was heard was three bodies hitting the ground with a thud, one behind the other, while Luffy remained standing like nothing was happening.
The other people present in the scene were also paralyzed; some of the cops were even trembling, and with cold sweat running down her necks although the wave of haki was not directed at them.
So that's conqueror's haki. Aizawa thought. It's terrifying
"SHISHISHISHI, that was easy" Said Luffy walking towards the exit. "Ey, are you not coming?" Asked Luffy looking at both pro-heroes. They were still standing in the same position without budge.
"Eh, yes, yes…" Said Aizawa waking up from the little trance he was in
Hizashi also seemed to slowly come back to reality "Ehm, well, I hope you can take care of the criminals on your own" He said to one of the cops.
"Oh! Yes of course." Affirmed one of them, still confused and unsure of what happened here "Thank you for notifying us, you can go now; we'll take it from here."
Aizawa and Hizashi bid their goodbyes and then went next to Luffy who was already at the exit of the building "Are you okay, Luffy?"
"Yes, why?" Said with a confused look on his face.
"Because they pointed a gun at you just two seconds ago?" Replied Yamada, not sure if with an affirmation or a question.
"Well, it was not the first time, and those guys were too weak, even more than the bad guys I fought yesterday; I only used a little of haki and they were already on the floor"
"A little you say?!" Exclaimed a disconcerted Hizashi "I might be repeating myself but you are full of surprises, kid"
"Full of problems too" Said Aizawa to himself "Well, now that everything has been resolved, it will be better if we go home, there are still a lot of things to prepare and explain to Luffy before the exams." He said as he walked in the car's direction.
"Yes, you are right" Conceded Hizashi "Let's go, kid"
"Aye, aye"
The following days, although they came out of the house very little, went by very quickly and without any major incidents; well, if we not count the numerous fights between Aizawa and Luffy about Luffy's hygiene and his terrible manners on the table.
Apart from that, the pro-heroes also did his best and tried to explain to Luffy what he needed to do to not make people suspicious of him. And that included not talking about the One Piece, being The king of the Pirates or anything related to piracy or his adventures in the other world. And, as you could imagine, that put him in a very bad mood, spending the next hour angry and arguing with them until he finally calmed down. But to make it clear, he only gave up after only one hour because he feared Aizawa will not let him eat meat for the rest of the week.
Besides that, they also created a new background for Luffy. He basically had to tell the others that his Quirk is just rubber. for now, and that, even though he will be registered in U.A. with his original name, if anyone asks he will say he is the son of a distant cousin of Aizawa.
This, of course, was not as easy as it seems. With Luffy's horrible memory they had to repeat everything to him, several times a day, until the day before going to U.A. And yet, they were not so sure if he finally understood.
My Hero Academia world, U.A. academy [10:11]
It was finally the day of the entrance exams, and as always, U.A. was the hero school with most applicants in all Japan. The nervousness of the students who are going to apply this year was palpable in the air. All of them were well aware it was very difficult to enter due to its low rate of acceptance, but also knew the advantages of being admitted here; in a few words, their careers as future heroes will be practically secured after graduating. Everyone who was going knew that fact, well, everyone except for our favorite captain.
Luffy was now in the car with Aizawa and Hizashi asking for the fifth time this morning where they were going today.
"Luffy, listen carefully because this will be the last time we will tell you" Said Hizashi looking at Luffy who simply nodded. "You are going to take the entrance exams for U.A. today. You have to pass them to be able to enter the school and become a hero. Although in your case will be a temporal occupation." He explained AGAIN, already running out of patience.
"But I don't want to go to school" Luffy said with a pout "I am already very strong I won't learn anything there"
Aizawa sighed "That is probably true but here the hero world is highly regulated, we can't falsify your hero license so you need to attend a hero school, and the best option is U.A. Especially because we will be teachers there what will allow us to be near you at any moment in case anything happens."
"Exactly. Now you will take the written test" Yamada said and seeing how Luffy was going to complain again he immediately continued talking "We know your brain is not one of your strongest points but don't worry you will have help"
"Okay, okay… I suppose if you are also there it won't be so bad" He said looking through the window, not seeing both heroes cracking a little smile.
A few minutes later they were already in front of the U.A. gates "Now Luffy, listen well. When you enter through those doors you'll see Nezu, he will be waiting for you so follow him and he'll explain to you how to do the written exam. Did you understand?"
"Yes! But who is Nezu?" He asked scratching his head
"Ahhhh…"
"Ahhhh…"
"It's the principal of the U.A., you talked to him the first day you came here" Explained Aizawa, but Luffy was still with the same clueless expression as before.
"He is the rat that can talk"
"Ah! The mink with the suit" Realized Luffy.
"Yes, that one. Now, get out of the car and enter the school or you will be late" Said Aizawa, more tired than usual. He didn't think that taking care of an nineteen year old boy would make him spend so much energy.
"Yes" He said getting out of the car "Goodbye guys" He exclaimed while waving his hand.
Once he saw they were gone, Luffy proceed to enter the school. He was approaching the entrance when, from the corner of his eye, he detected a boy with green hair just a few steps from him. It reminded him of Zoro, but he knew right away it wasn't him because their auras were totally different, although that didn't stop him from feeling a little sad. He missed his crew so much that sometimes even hurt, however, each time, he reminded himself that they will come for him; they were too stubborn to give up. And that thought always made him feel calm again.
He tried to not look at him again but then his future sight haki made him watch how that boy was going to fall in a few seconds. So when he saw him trip on, he rapidly went to his side and, with amazing reflexes, he grab him by the collar before he hit the ground.
For his part, the poor boy was very confused, why was he not on the floor? Then he looked up and saw a boy with a straw-hat grabbing his uniform to avoid the fall.
When he was on his two feet again he turned around and bowed saying "T-THANK YOU, S-SO MUCH! Without your help I would have been hurt."
"SHISHISHISHI, don't worry little bush, it was nothing" He replied giving the boy his signature smile.
Eh? Little bush? He said it because of my green hair?. He was going to start murmuring when a voice behind Luffy caught their attention
"WOW! That was really fast" Exlamined a girl with short brown hair and pink cheeks. "Oh! Hello, my name is Uraraka Ochako and I was also going to help you" She said looking at the boy with green hair "But you got ahead of me. You were really fast, I almost didn't see you!"
"H-hello, my name is Midoriya Izuku and t-thank you for trying to help me too" Said Izuku with a tiny blush in his cheeks.
"SHISHISHISHI, my name is Monkey D. Luffy. Nice to meet you guys!"
"Nice to meet you too!" She answered "Would you like to walk together inside?"
"YES, OF COURSE!"
"Okay"
Once the introductions were done, the three entered the school together chatting among themselves and asking simple questions to each other like, where are they from?; although thanks to that Luffy almost made a mistake, he was going to say he was from the East Blue when, fortunately, someone else interrupted their conversation.
"Well Mr. Luffy, I hope you didn't forget you needed to see me before the exam" A known voice suddenly said.
"Oh, hello little mouse" Luffy greeted him with a smile. He liked the little bear even though sometimes didn't understand what he was saying.
"D-DIRECTOR NEZU?!" Exclaimed Izuku
"Monkey-kun, do you know the principal?" Asked an equal surprised Uraraka
"Call me Luffy, and yes, it was the first person that I met when I came here"
"Here?" Questioned Izuku and Uraraka, both of them a little confused what made Nezu to have a little panic attack.
"He means Japan; you see Mr. Luffy's homeland is very far from here, so to attend U.A. he decided to stay with a distant cousin, Aizawa Shota, one of the teachers of the school. That's why I know him from before" He said trying to sound as convincing as possible.
"W-wait, when you said Aizawa Shota you meant the pro-hero Eraserhead?!" Asked Izuku, surprise and admiration all over his face.
"Wow, Seriously?!"
"Yes, that's him. Now, if you excuse us I have to talk to Mr Luffy in private before the exam." Replied Nezu trying to hurry the pirate.
"Alright. Bye guys, I'll see you later"
"Bye Luffy/Googbye Luffy-san" Said both at the same time.
When they were gone, Nezu guided Luffy through the corridors until they reached a classroom that secured them that nobody will listen to their conversation.
"Well, Mr. Luffy, I assume that Aizawa and Hizashi have already told you that I'm going to help you" Luffy nodded" Excellent, then I will go straight to the point; to pass the written exam you will use this" He said before giving Luffy an earpiece.
"And what is this?" The boy said with curiosity
"It's a device that will allow me to talk to you during the test and, of course, dictate you the answers to the questions so don't be surprised if you suddenly hear my voice" He said taking another earpiece from his pocket "You must place this on your ear like this, see?"
"Alright" Replied Luffy while putting the earpiece like Nezu taught him. "Is that it?"
"No. One more thing" Said the principal looking directly at Luffy's eyes "You must not tell ANYBODY about this . I am serious, if we are discovered I would be in a lot of trouble and I won't be able to protect you anymore. Did you understand?"
"Aye, Aye…Thank you little mouse!"
"You're welcome, but now you need to go. The exam will start in ten minutes" Said Nezu looking at his watch.
"Alright, bye little bear" Said Luffy before running in the wrong direction.
"NOT THAT WAY!" Exclaimed the principal "It's down this hallway Mr. Luffy, the third door on your left!"
"Oh! Okay, bye again" He said after changing abruptly his route.
"Ahhh… this will be a difficult year" Sighed a tired Nezu. Until six days ago, he never thought he would be helping a student to cheat in the entrance exams, and he still has some conflict about it; but then he reminded himself that this was a VERY extraordinary situation and without his help he was sure the boy won't pass.
Going back to Luffy, he was already seated in the upper part of the classroom when a familiar blonde hair appeared on the stage. Ahh! That's right, he told me he's gonna be here.
"To all the applicants welcome today to my show." Said President Mic already getting into character "Everybody say, Hey!"
"HEY!" Yelled Luffy, gaining a lot of stares and laughs from the other students.
"YEEEEIIII! That's the attitude!" Yelled back President Mic recognizing Luffy's voice. That's my boy! He thought proudly for a moment. "Then, now I will talk about the practical part of the exam, okay?!…"
To this point of the presentation our dear Luffy was simply not paying any attention to what Hizashi was saying; he was already spacing out thinking in the all the food he is going to eat after the exams are over when the voice of another student interrupted his thoughts.
When he turned his head to see what was happening, he saw how a blue haired boy with glasses that was moving his arms very awkwardly, was almost yelling at the green haired boy he met before. What was his name? Zuko? And, he didn't like it one a bit. In his mind they were already friends so he decided to intervene.
"Hey you, the idiot with blue hair!" He said making the people in the auditorium to look at him again "Your screams are annoying so shut up before I kick your ass. I am bored and I want to finish this thing as soon as possible" After that statement there were a few moments of silence where everybody, including Izuku and the guy with glasses, was staring at him with wide eyes.
"Ahem, yes why don't we just start the exam? Now, everybody turn around and I will tell my assistants to give you the test papers" Said Hizashi not knowing how to deal with this mess. Ahhh, I should've expected something like this from him.
And while he was relieved that the students seemed to forget what happened to focus on the exam, as soon as they had it in front of them; he did noticed that one particular boy stared longer at Luffy with a not very kind look.
Two hours later, Luffy got out of the examination classroom yawning and with a horrible headache. It's been a long time since he had to think so much, and the thought that it would have been even worse if the little bear didn't help him only made his headache twice as painful. It was literally killing him.
"Man, I don't like to study" he said rubbing his head "I prefer a punch from Kaido than do that thing again" Luffy whispered to himself.
He was almost at the end of the empty corridor, when he heard a voice calling him from the distance. He looked up to see who was trying to get his attention, and to his surprise it was Izuku who was running towards him. "Luffy-san!" He said before he stopped in front of him.
"Hey, little bush! What's up?" He said happy to see his new friend.
"Luffy-san" He called him again to then bow as he did in the school entrance "I-I don't know if what you said to that student before the exam was because of me but even if it's not like that, I'm still grateful, I was really uncomfortable. So, thank you for saving me again" He said as fast as he could, a bad habit he has when he is nervous.
"Don't worry, little bush. We're friends, which means that I'll always have your back." Luffy assured him with a smile.
"F-friends? Do you really want to be friends with me?" Asked Izuku feeling fear and hope in equal parts, not even taking into account the nickname Luffy gave him.
"Of course, you seem nice. I like you although you are a little coward SHISHISHISHI" Said Luffy. This honestly reminded him the first time he met Koby back then in the East Blue before he was a marine and before his adventure even started; probably that's also why he liked this boy so much. "And you? Do you want to be friends with me?"
"Of course I want!" Izuku said giving to the straw-hat boy the first authentic smile he had in quite some time. My first friend in the U.A. He thought with enthusiasm "Then, Luffy-san in which training ground will you be doing the practical exam?" Questioned Izuku still a little bit excited.
"I don't know" He said, showing him his paper.
"Ah! That's the same training ground as me. Do you want to go together?"
"Yeah, why not?" He replied.
My Hero Academia world, U.A. academy [12:30]
When they arrived to the destined point with the rest of the students assigned there, they found themselves in front of a mini city with big buildings and surrounded by a huge wall. Luffy for his part couldn't be more exited, since they got out of the bus, he dedicated himself to see with little stars on his eyes the Quirks and costumes of some of the participants; especially those that involved a physical transformation or mutation.
He was so immerse in his own world that he didn't notice the nervous boy behind him until he turned to say something to him.
"Hey, little bush, are you okay?" Asked Luffy with a raised eyebrow.
"Y-YES, yes, I mean it's just I am a little nervous because my mentor has been training me really hard during the last ten months and I don't want to disappoint him. Besides now looking around here I feel small seeing people with better control over their powers and I feel that I am not really prepared so…" He continued murmuring until a pissed Luffy hit him in the head. "Ouch! Why did you hit me?"
"Because you were talking too much and it started to annoy me"
"Eh? Ah sorry it's an habit" Said Izuku still a little anxious.
"Look, in a battle the best thing you can do is to enter with confidence. Don't be a coward or they will tear you apart" He said pointing to the other students. "So keep it together, I won't be around every moment to save you"
"…"Izuku didn't know why but instead of feeling worse, he did find a strange sensation of comfort in his harsh words. Luffy said the truth to his face but without intention of humiliate him like other people "Yes, Luffy-san. You are right, I have to trust myself" He said now a little bit less nervous.
"That's rigth!" He exclaimed giving Izuku a strong pat on his back that almost made him fall again. "Hey look, it's the girl with pink cheeks from before" Said Luffy pointing to Uraraka.
"Yes, you are rigth!"
"Let's go to talk to her" He said already walking forward. But before he could take another step, a hand landed in his shoulder; he didn't even need to turn his head to see who it was "What do you want now?" He asked slapping the hand away and with an annoyed expression.
"How rude!" Exclaimed the boy with glasses before recovering him composure "The girl right there is trying to concentrate. What are you planning to do now? Do you plan to interfere like in the written exam?" He said as he tried to reproach Luffy's actions.
"Huh? And why do you care? It's none of your business" Said Luffy while digging his ear with his pinky.
"What?!" Exclaimed the boy taken aback by his impolite answer "Are you treating this like a joke? If so then I must insist that you abandon the school grounds immediately! It's obvious that you don't feel respect for this exam or the students that are applying. I will demand to the teacher in charge of this group to disqualify you for inappropriate behavior!" He exclaimed moving his arms even faster than before.
"You're too bossy. I hate people like you" Luffy said with a big smile "And why are you so tense? If you want to poop there some trees in that direction" This response made Izuku, and other students that were around listening to the conversation, to have to hold their laughs.
And just when the other boy was going to reply he saw how Luffy suddenly run towards the now open doors while dragging Izuku with him "Hey! What are you thinking? We have to wait to-" His speech was then cut off by President Mic's voice
"What the hell are you waiting for?! There is no countdown in real battles. Follow that kid, he has the right spirit. NOW GO, GO, GO!" Said President Mic on top of the wall, although internally he had other thoughts. I bet he just wanted to punch something.
Damn it. Thought the boy with glasses before he started to run.
A few seconds later, everyone was about to reach the exit of the street they were in, with Luffy still in the lead, when five big robots, four 2 pointers and one 3 pointer, appeared in front of them.
Izuku who was a few meters behind him, was momently paralyzed while the blue haired boy continued to run in Luffy's direction with only one thought in mind. I HAVE TO BEAT HIM.
However, before he reached him, Luffy jumped really high, surprising everyone, and screamed to the top of his lungs. "GOMU GOMU NO… GATLING"
The next thing the other students saw were five destroyed robots in the floor and Luffy laughing like he was having the time of his life. "THIS IS SO FUN. I want to punch more" He yelled before he went to chase other pointers that were down the same street. The rest of the students he left behind looked amazed and a little scared of the straw-hat boy.
But this didn't end here. Four minutes later and Luffy continued to wreak havoc wherever he went with his signature smile still on his face. He was so focused in punching every metal thing that came across his way that he didn't even realize he was saving other people from those robots at the same time.
Now, on the flip side of the coin, we have Izuku Midoriya, who hasn't obtained any points since the exam began. He was just running from one place to another avoiding all the enemies.
I won't pass if I keep running away like this. I have to use All-Might's power NOW. But Izuku's thoughts were interrupted by the sudden appearance of a 1 pointer standing on his way after destroying one of the walls of the building in front of him.
"Target detected" Said the robot once he spotted the green haired boy.
Here it comes! Here it comes! HERE IT COMES! He said to himself, but when he wanted to dodged the attack he realized something. His legs weren't moving. Why can't I move?! MOVE FEET, MOVE. But his body was not obeying to him.
Fortunately, he was lucky enough that Luffy found him before the robot came any closer.
"Gomu Gomu no…" He said jumping above the robot and pulling his arm back "…PISTOL" Destroying in one blow the enemy, that now was not more than a few metal pieces.
"Ey, little bush! Are you idiot or something?" He said looking in Izuku's direction "You know you have to hit them, right?"
"Y-Yes, Luffy-san" He stuttered "I just was surprised for a moment"
"Okay, then see you later" Said Luffy before going in another direction. He had sensed two other enemies that way.
*6 minutes and 2 seconds left* Said President Mic through the megaphone.
"AH! This is bad! This is bad! I need points quickly!" Izuku said starting to panic. He didn't have much time left but everywhere he looked, he only saw broken pointers. The number of enemies left also kept decreasing at an alarming pace due to the other students, especially Luffy. He didn't know what to do and the time was running out.
Meanwhile, in other part of the U.A. academy, in a room full of monitors, the teachers were observing the possible future students of the school.
"Don't you this this year's group look promising?" Asked one of the teachers.
"Well, that would be seen when they face the real test" Replied other as he pressed a red button.
At that moment, in the battle ground where Luffy and Izuku were still fighting, the floor started shaking, announcing that something huge was coming. When they raised their eyes up all they saw was a giant robot, the 0 pointer, coming for them.
At the appearance of this new enemy, all the students began to run in the opposite direction, pushing each other and not caring if someone was left behind. However, that was not the case for three students.
One of them of course was our beloved captain, who was running directly towards the giant enemy with a huge smile, looking even… excited? Thought for a moment a certain blue haired boy.
Ready to use his Gear 3, Luffy put one hand on his mouth but he then stopped on his tracks when he saw Izuku jumping in front of him and giving the robot a big blow, making it fall to the ground right after that.
"HUH?! THAT'S NOT FAIR. I wanted to punch him too." Luffy said whining like a little kid, not noticing the people watching the scene with big wide eyes and open mouths that almost reached the ground.
However, he felt something was wrong. He looked at Izuku again and saw he was not trying to slow down, he was just falling.
Back to Izuku, he was feeling ecstatic. I did it! He exclaimed internally celebrating his victory. But then he noticed he was now falling without control and he didn't know how to stop it. He was trying to think a way out when from the corner of his eye saw a known straw-hat. It was Luffy; he had jumped with a little of haki on his legs, an adapted method of Bellamy's devil fruit, to catch the boy in the middle of the air, and then land gracefully like it was nothing.
"Little bush, you need to be more careful you could've died" Said Luffy trying to reproach him.
"I-I know. I think I am not entirely used to my Quirk. And what is yours? If you jumped that high you need to have super strength but you said "Gomu Gomu" before your attacks so, is it related to rubber? But if that's so, it doesn't expl-" He interrupted himself when, after all the adrenaline disappeared from his body, he felt he had a broken arm and leg that were hurting a lot.
"Did you hurt yourself punching that thing?" Asked a curious Luffy as he laid Izuku in the ground. Nevertheless, the boy immediately passed out due to the extreme pain he was feeling.
*AND THE TIME IS UP! Thank you everyone for participating*
"So, we have already finished? Man, it was too little time. Can't they bring another giant robot?" Said Luffy while everyone else was looking at him like he grew another head.
Then a female voice was heard above the crowd of students.
"Alright, good job everyone! You are all heroes in my eyes!" Said a little old lady "Here, this is a reward, some gummies"
"Ah, thank you" Replied one of the participants.
"And you" She said looking at Luffy "Thanks to you the boy didn't have more major injuries so here you go, you can have some gummies too"
"Wow! Thank's granny! I was already getting hungry"
"Now, except for this boy, everybody should go now to the bus. It will take you to the main building again" She said before she kissed Izuku on the cheek.
"Okay, see you soon granny and be careful with my friend" He told her before returning to the bus happily eating the gummies the old lady gave him.
Some hours later, in the monitor room.
"The results from the practical test are not ready yet?" Asked Aizawa again.
"It seems that you are a little impatient Eraserhead" Said one of the teachers
"Yeah, if I didn't know you I would say you are interested in the new students of this year" Agreed other of his colleagues.
"Maybe, it's not the students but a student in particular. What do you say to that, Aizawa?"
"Shut up" He bluntly replied
"HAHAHAHA, you don't have to be like that Shota" Said Yamada, just arriving to the room.
"Ey Mic, do you know in what student Eraserhead is interested?" Asked the female hero
"Maybe…" He was starting to say but then the conversation was thoroughly interrupted by the entrance of principal Nezu.
"We finally have the results" Announced Nezu looking at two pro-heroes in particular. "And I have to say, I already knew Mr. Luffy had potential as a hero but I didn't think it would be this much. You should be proud of him"
"Who is Luffy? Mr. Nezu" Asked All-Might who had remained silent until now
"You'll see" He only replied.
Nezu kept walking until he reached the main monitor where he introduced the results of the practical exam. And when those results were shown on the screen, every teacher let out a loud gasp.
In other situation they would have commented how curious it was that someone with 60 points in rescue had zero in villains or that a student with 70 points in villains had zero in rescue. But their eyes went directly to the first position.
Amazing, so was that the student Nezu told me the other day?. Thought All-Might.
The teachers kept looking at his score like it was a joke. It was really high, the highest they ever had in the past ten years at least. But all their thoughts were disrupted by a yell from one of their colleagues.
"YEEEI! That's our boy" Exclaimed an excited Yamada.
"Do you know him Mic?" Asked one of the female hero.
"Yes, he is a cousin of Shota; he lives very far from here so he decided to stay with us while he is studying in U.A." He lied blatantly. As planned, this is a good moment to start spreading Luffy's story. The more people believe it the less they'll question him once he begins showing the true extent of his powers. He then looked at Nezu, who gave him a subtle nod, before continuing telling the other teachers the invented backstory they came up with to help Luffy's residence in this world.
My Hero Academia world, Aizawa and Hizashi's house [20:30]
A few hours later, Eraserhead and President Mic arrive finally at home.
"LUFFY! We have arrived and we have something for you"
"I'm coming" Said Luffy going down the stairs "What is it? Is it food?"
"Yes and no, kid. Here, take it." Said Aizawa as he gave a letter to Luffy.
"What's this?" He asked a little confused. He didn't want to read more for the next ten years after the hell of exam he did a couple of days ago.
"It's a letter from U.A. It will tell you if you passed or not" Explained Yamada who looked more excited than the receptor of the letter.
"OOHH! I want to open it" He said ripping the letter in half. But instead of a paper with words, like the boy expected, it only contained a disc that fell to the floor before projecting a hologram in front of him. "WOW"
"IT IS ME!" Said none other than the number one hero in Japan, All-Might. "And I would be the one announcing your results in the practical exam"
"Who is this guy?" Said Luffy not understanding why a muscular guy on steroids is telling him if he passed or not.
"He is All-Might, the strongest hero here" Explained Aizawa. Although, with you here, I am not so sure of that position anymore.
The strongest hero he said? Now I wanna fight him. He can't be worse than Kaido or Big Mom. Luffy thought smiling wider than before.
"Young Luffy. with your great physical power and strong determination, you managed to score 95 villain points. Bravo! A magnificent job." Said All-Might "BUT IT DOESN'T END THERE! Here we have another secret point system called Rescue Points, where we give additional points as a reward for saving or helping other people in the battle. And here, Young Luffy also excels brilliantly with 51 points!" He said whole-heartedly to then show them images of Luffy rescuing, without knowing most of the time, other students from the pointers, especially when he catched a certain green haired boy in the air. "And by combining both point systems you ended up first in the classification board, CONGRATULATIONS! So welcome Young Luffy. This is your Hero Academia!
"Yey! I entered!" Exclaimed Luffy as he jumped around the living room
"You did very well, kid" Praised Aizawa with a softer voice than usual.
"Then, can we celebrate?" Asked Luffy with puppy eyes.
"YES! That's the reason we also bought a cake and more meat in our way here"
"You are the best!" Said Luffy before giving a big hug to Hizashi and Aizawa "But we need another thing to celebrate"
"ahem..And what is it?" Questioned Aizawa, still a little embarrassed for the sudden embrace.
At his question, Luffy only grinned and said "Sake"
By the end of the celebration, both pro-heroes learned three things; a drunken Luffy is even worse than a sober Luffy, a guy named Sabo is apparently alive and a certain pirate song called Bink's Sake.

Since I have been thinking int his fanfic for almost a month now, I already have the beginning written so I will upload the next two or three chapters between today and the next couple of days. Also, it's thanks to the little vacations I have before coming back to college I am able to do this.
