Hey y'all! Thanks so much for the support on the first chapter. I didn't think it was that good but you guys loved it! If you have any ideas for future chapters and/or stories. Don't be hesitant to let me know! (Also ignore what multifandom fanatic14. He asked me to a very disturbing story and I declined it and now they are mad) Anyway, enjoy the next chapter!

(Deep in the dark forest) (Kitty's POV)

After the latest encounter with sour-puss. I decided to leave him and the deranged dog with the map to try and fix things. I was running through the dark forest when I felt the presence of something, or rather, someone. I looked behind me to see two glowing red eyes hiding among the shadows that were cast by the trees. A voice then came from the same direction

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the legendary thief, Kitty Softpaws…" The voice growled

"W….who are you?" I asked nervously

I grew scared and became more aware of the figure as they stepped from the shadows

"I've been called many names, dear, but most people call me death. And I don't mean that metaphorically or rhetorically or poetically or theoretically or in any other fancy way. I'm Death, straight, up." The figure growled

I stayed silent. I was too scared to say anything

"You know, Puss In Boots is down to his last life and it's all thanks to a little cat called Kitty Softpaws who left him on their wedding day" Death stated menacingly

"I…I.." I squeaked

I couldn't finish the sentence. As Death approached further and further, the feelings of fear and sadness grew worse and worse. Death chuckled and them spoke again

"You know… (inhales sharply) I like to think of you as a thief in a different way, a heart thief." Death snarled

"That's not what I am!" I yelled

All the bottled up anger and regret finally came out. Tears streamed down my face as Death took a step back and then started to walk towards me again, but slower

"You mean to tell me that you stole Puss' heart and didn't think of the consequences!" Death yelled

I stayed still, I knew that no matter what I did, I would only make things worse

"You were the cause of Puss losing four of his nine lives. His first one where he stopped to flirt with a girl while with bulls. His second one when he was drunk from drinking his sorrow, that's you, away and he fell off a tall building. His third when he was crushed by a weight, my best guess is he was still a bit drunk. His last life he lost because of you was when he eat shellfish" Death snarled

"H..how did..I..I cause….that one?" I asked nervously

"You were supposed to be the smart one and remember what he's allergic to, without someone there to remember that for him, Puss suffered the consequences" Death snarled

I stayed silent again, knowing that I had pissed off Death

"You are the best thief in all of the land, you have everything you could ever need but you just want more, and now…" Death snarled

Death lowered his head to my ear

"I'm here to collect everything you have stolen…" Death whispered

He grabbed me by the neck and threw me into a nearby tree. I collapsed at the bottom of the tree. Death then pulled out his sickle and I knew it was over

(Puss' POV)

Me and Perito started to search the dark forest, calling for Kitty as we did

"Kitty! Kitty, mi amor. Kitty, where are you!" I yelled

"Kitty, pspspspspspspspspspsps." Perito called

"What was that?" I asked

"What? Don't cats come running when you do that?" Perito asked in response

"No! Where on earth did you learn that?" I asked

"At Mama Luna's! She would do it all the time to summon her cats" Perito stated

"Um….ok"I said

Just then, a high-pitched screech came from deep in the dark forest. I knew straight away that it was Kitty

"Kitty….KITTY!" I yelled, running towards the location of the screech

"Puss! Wait up! Perito shouted

I had no time to wait, I knew that Kitty was in danger so I ran as fast as I could in boots until I saw Death. I hit behind a nearby tree.

I peered around the tree to see Kitty leaning on a tree and Death about to strike her

"Not so fast, Lobo" I shouted as I got out from behind the tree

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Puss in Boots. I was just about to do you a favor amigo" Death snarled

"Lay a finger on her, and you'll regret it" I said, angrily

"Puss…" Kitty said, weakly

"Not now" I said

"But…" Kitty said, weakly

"I said, NOT NOW!" I shouted

Everyone fell silent, including Death

"Wow, still got that anger inside you, huh. Wouldn't it just be best to leave Kitty and go on adventures alone?" Death asked

I stayed silent, I wasn't going to answer a stupid question like that

"And as for you, Softpaws, I think it's time you were taught a lesson…" Death snarled

Death then took a swing at Kitty. I took my sword from Death and used it to defend Kitty. I pushed death back, protecting Kitty.

"Move away Puss or I'll kill you as well!" Death growled

"Give me your best shot!" I shouted

With that, Death charged at me. He tried to hit me but I kept blocking until one of his swings hit me. My sword flew out of my hand and Death went for another swing. I looked away and thought it was all over until Kitty got up and started to defend me

"Kitty…" I said

"Go, I'll handle him" Kitty said

I stood in silence, I didn't know how to reply

"Well, don't just stand there, take the map and make you wish" Kitty said

I picked up the map and as I left, kitty called for me

"Puss!" Kitty shouted

I turned to her, thinking she was in trouble. She smiled

"I love you…" She said softly

Tears filled my eyes, I knew what Kitty was going to do

"I love you too…" I said, my voice breaking

With that I ran, along the way, I found Perito. I picked him up and we returned to the path that the map showed us. I couldn't stop thinking about Kitty. If she was doing what I think she was doing, then I will never see her again….

Why is making fanfics so damn stressful at times. I wasn't happy with the original style that I had with this chapter and the review that had ideas for improvements made me really wanna fix this chapter. I hope I have fixed it and now I hate myself for even starting this in the first place. I hope you enjoyed this nonetheless. I'm gonna be so glad to finish this fanfic
