A/N obviously I don't own these characters, they belong to JK Rowling. Also, I hope you like my story. I wrote it when I was twelve, so it's probably not amazing.

Bill and the seventh Weasley

Bill was bored. He had already changed the color of the bushes seven times, read the dragon section from Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them to Charlie twice and helped him try to get Percy to play with him outdoors. It was April and spring had come early. They had recently celebrated his younger brothers Fred and George's third birthday and his new brother Ron's first. He had tried counting the days until he turned eleven and would get his letter from Hogwarts, but lost track around five hundred. He had recently read in Dad's abandoned Daily Prophet that Minchum was trying to convince the rest of the Ministry to get the starting age of Hogwarts to be ten. Bill hoped it would happen, because then Charlie might get to start when Bill was twelve instead of thirteen. Bill really enjoyed playing with Charlie even though he was so small, only seven. Bill, on the other hand, was big, already nine.

Little Ron was only a year old and the twins were three, already able to wreak havoc on any garden they visited. Percy, on the other hand, was four, turning five in August and could speak as clearly as Charlie or even Bill himself. Better even. He was more polite at least.

"Bill! Charlie! Percy! We want to talk to you about something!"

Bill sighed and made his way across his room and downstairs. As he came down he heard Mum say to Dad,

"Arthur, won't you grab the twins please? They'll be out in the backyard chasing gnomes or making mud explode or whatever they do."

When he came down he saw her putting down a plate of cookies. She was holding Ron on her hip.

"Oh, there you are, Bill dear. I almost thought you hadn't heard me."

As she was saying this, Dad came in with two very muddy toddlers, who Bill knew were Fred and George.

"They were trying to make mud explode, just like you said", he shouted over their screams of protest.

"Arthur! They are dragging mud all over the floor! Why didn't you clean them before you went in?" Mum asked sternly.

Dad sighed and went to clean the twins.

"Have a seat, Bill, Charlie, Percy," she told his brothers who had just come in, "Oh, right, Tergio!" she said, cleaning up the mud.

She then set Ron down in the baby chair that she and Dad had fixed when Bill was born. Dad had made the legs long so that the baby reached the table and Mum had placed a simple Child Safety Charm on.

"Help yourself to some cookies. This could take a while," she said, sighing.

Fifteen minutes later, the cookies were all gone thanks to Ron, with help from Charlie. Dad emerged in the doorway with slightly less muddy twins.

"Oh , finally Arthur."

He put them down in a chair each. Then he said

"Well, Mum and I have some news."

Bill sighed. Last time they said they said this, it was to say Dad had been denied his big promotion.

"Mum is having another baby."

"Wait, what?" Charlie exclaimed. "Seriously?"

"Yes," Mum said.

"What dat mean?" asked Fred. "Anodew Won?"

"Yes," Dad said, "Kind of."

"No!" Fred and George said in unison.

Bill sighed.

"What is it, sweetie?" Mum asked."

"It's just, another Weasley, another brother. I already have, wait…" He counted them on his fingers "five," he said.

"It's not necessarily a boy, you know," she answered.

"You said that before Percy, the twins and Ron."

"True. But you know what, think of it like this. This little guy will be a playmate for Ron, so that he won't bug you," she said hopefully.

"Okay Mum," he said. "If you don't mind, I'd like to go nap for a bit."

This was a lie. He hadn't taken naps since Percy was born, and he saw she didn't believe him, but she said

"Sure, sweetie. I love you, big boy."

In the end, Bill did actually fall asleep, and when Mum woke him up for dinner, he felt better.

As Mum grew bigger, Ron became Bill's responsibility more and more often. Ron was quite the unsensitive baby. The moment Bill changed his diaper, he would poop in the fresh one. When Bill had changed that one, Ron would cry for food. Sometimes when Bill had managed to get him to fall asleep, he would see Charlie trying to engage Percy in a game and failing. Every time this happened, Bill wished he was out there and could be with Charlie instead, but he had to keep an eye out for Ron, who had a tendency to wake up noiselessly and climb out of his bed, despite the Child Safety Charm placed on it. Despite this, Bill became quite fond of his little brother, and didn't get quite as annoyed by him as the others. Yet, he couldn't wait until the seventh brother came and grew up, so Ron wouldn't bug anyone.

The weather grew warmer, and Ron learned to walk, so Bill would take him out to the garden to chase gnomes. Whenever they had visitors, they all wondered why Bill was at home and not at Hogwarts. He then had to answer that he was only nine, and not going to Hogwarts yet. They were all equally surprised, saying he was mature for his age and quite the big brother.

Then, one day, in the middle of August, when he had a break from Ron and was playing with Charlie, Mum called for him.

Bill ran indoors, to see her with a bag by the door, with Ron in her arms. He panicked for a second, thinking something was wrong with Ron, but when he saw him laughing he calmed down.

"Dad and I are going to the hospital down in Ottery St. Catchpole. The baby is on the way. Dad just sent Errol to Aunt Muriel, she'll be on her way soon. We're going to leave Ron with the Lovegoods on the way, they live on the next hill over, go to them if there's a problem before Muriel comes, okay?"

"Okay, Mum. Good luck."

Bill had gone through this four times already, but was still nervous.

"You'll be fine, dear," Mum said, sensing his worry. "I know Muriel isn't great, but the Lovegoods have a baby girl and can't take care of you like the other times."

"Okay, Mum."

"Oh, and you keep an eye out for one twin and Charlie for the other and both of you keep half an eye out for Percy, though I doubt that will be necessary."

"Okay, Mum."

"See you soon, Bill."

"Bye, Mum."

Bill watched his mum get into their old car and kiss Dad on the cheek. Once he couldn't see the car anymore he went back to the back garden and told Charlie what Mum had told him. Then he went and found George and Percy and told them Mum was having the baby and he was in charge until Aunt Muriel came. George didn't notice him and Percy didn't care so Bill sat down to think.

When Muriel arrived she immediately began criticizing everything, "Another Weasley? You multiply faster than gnomes", "This place is a mess" and "What an irresponsible mother, leaving a seven year old in charge" to which Bill responded

"I am actually nine, Charlie is seven."

"Oh, is Charles seven now? So how old is Percival then?" she asked.

"He's four, Aunt Muriel."

"Frederick? And George?"

"Three, Aunt."

"And that little one? What's his name? Ronald? Where is he?"

"He's one Aunt. He is at the Lovegoods, next hill over."

"Why?"

"We had to be alone for a while before you came, Aunt Muriel, and Mum doesn't want to leave a baby without adults."

Muriel snorted at this, but went into the kitchen to prepare dinner. After a meal of mashed peas and hard bread, she forced them into bed.

The next morning, August 12th, they heard a car coming up the hill.

"Dad!" Bill yelled, running outside.

"Bill! Hey mate! C'mon, let's go indoors, so we can let that old hag Muriel go."

"Dad!" Bill exclaimed. He had never heard is father speak of an older relative like that.

"What? She is. Just don't tell your mother."

Once inside, Dad thanked Muriel and she left as quickly as she could, saying " I'm 91, these children tire me out".

"How was it, kids?" Dad asked, sitting down.

"Ugh," said Charlie, who had just come in. "She gets worse the older she gets."

"I'm sorry, Charlie. But she's gone now, and I'm here."

"Father, how is our brother?" Percy asked.

"She's doing well" Dad said. Bill was confused.

"Don't you mean he?" he asked.

"No, I don't. You have a sister."

Bill thought his jaw was going to drop to the floor.

"What? But, I thought… I mean," he gestured to Charlie, Percy, who looked as shocked as he felt and the twins, who were fighting each other, not having a clue what was going on.

"I know, me too, Dad said. I actually had to sit down, I was so surprised."

"May we go visit her, father?" Percy asked, ever proper.

"Soon. First we should have some tea, and then we have to go pick up Ron, but then we should be able to go."

An hour later they were at the hospital in Ottery St. Catchpole, in Mum's ward. In the bed next to her lay the beautifulest baby Bill had ever seen. She was so small and her hair was already bright red, like every other person in the Weasley family, like his. She looked like a mix of Mum and the twins.

"Bill! Charlie! Percy! Fred! George! Ron! My sons!" Mum said. "Come here! Meet your sister, Ginevra."

"Are you going to call this little thing Ginevra?" Bill asked.

"No, Ginny for short," Dad said.

"She's so cute," Charlie said. "Cuter than baby dragons."

"Is that what a newborn baby looks like?" Percy asked.

"Yes, dear," Mum said.

"Dat not a wittle Won!" George said.

"No," said Fred. He seemed perplexed at the possibility of a cute baby and answered his twin absentmindedly.

"Cutew," George said.

"Yea," Fred said.

"Bill, what do you think?" Mum asked.

Bill, who had been lost in thought, remembering the other times he had been here, jumped.

"She's amazing. Beautiful. I didn't know babies could be so cute."

His parents smiled.

"Here, come and hold here."

In the end, Minchum was, as most ministers are, assassinated and replaced by Bagnold, who didn't like the idea of starting Hogwarts earlier, and that possibility was dumped. But Bill didn't really mind anymore. The year went by fast because he looked forward to seeing his baby sister and seeing how much she'd grown. By Christmas she wasn't a newborn, she was a baby. And when he finished his first year she was nearly a year old. Another year passed, Ginny was a toddler, and Charlie was finally joining him. Bill watched Charlie grow more obsessed with dragons, and play seeker in Quidditch. When he was fifteen Percy also joined them. That was the same year as he became prefect. In his last year he became Head Boy, to his great delight. When he left Hogwarts he decide to go to Egypt and become a cursebreaker for Gringott's. It was safe to say he was never bored again.
