Atlas followed Hanji as she led him to a laboratory where they were conducting experiments on the other captured Titans. He observed as the scientists poked and prodded the Titans, trying to learn more about their biology.
"This is all so strange," Atlas thought to himself. "Why am I here? And why can't I turn back into a human?"
As he was lost in thought, he was suddenly overcome by a strange sensation. He felt a tug from somewhere deep inside, pulling him towards a specific location. He had never experienced anything like this before.
"Atlas, are you alright?" asked Hanji, noticing his sudden change in behavior.
Atlas looked up at her, startled. "I feel something... a pull."
"What do you mean?" asked Hanji.
"I don't know," Atlas replied, still feeling the pull. "It's like something is calling me."
Hanji looked at him curiously. "We should investigate this. Come with me."
Hanji and Atlas made their way to the entrance of the wall where the Titans had first breached. Atlas felt the pull getting stronger as they got closer.
"What is this?" he thought.
As they arrived at the entrance, Atlas suddenly saw a bright light. He shielded his eyes as the light grew brighter and brighter, until everything around him disappeared.
When Atlas opened his eyes, he found himself in a strange place. The landscape was barren and desolate, with a strange aura permeating the air. In front of him stood a woman, wearing tattered clothing and holding a bucket.
"Who are you?" Atlas asked.
The woman looked at him with a mixture of surprise and confusion. "You can speak?"
Atlas nodded. "Yes, I am Atlas. I am a Titan."
The woman regarded him for a moment, then spoke. "I am Ymir, the Founder. You are not like the other Titans. You possess intelligence and consciousness. You were created for a purpose."
"What purpose?" asked Atlas.
"To carry out the will of the Eldian people," replied Ymir. "But your existence is also tied to the fate of the world. You have a crucial role to play in the coming battles."
Atlas looked at her in confusion. "I don't understand."
Ymir smiled wryly. "You will, in time. Your journey has just begun, Atlas. The fate of the world rests in your hands. And here's a little parting gift."
With that, Ymir vanished, leaving Atlas standing alone in the desolate landscape. As he looked around, he realized that he was in a place known as the Paths, a dimension that connected all Eldian subjects to the Founding Titan.
Atlas felt a sense of purpose and determination growing within him. He knew that he had a role to play in the battles to come, and that he would do everything in his power to protect the people he had come to care for.
As Atlas returned to the physical world, he found himself once again surrounded by the ruins of the battle that had taken place. He looked around, confused and disoriented, before his attention was caught by Hanji.
Atlas emerged from the Titan's nape, he was greeted by the stunned expressions of the Survey Corps soldiers who had just witnessed his transformation. He stumbled forward, still disoriented from the experience, and collapsed onto the ground.
"Is...is he alright?" one of the soldiers asked, cautiously approaching Atlas.
"I don't know," another replied, shaking his head. "He's not responding to us."
Atlas could hear their voices, but they sounded muffled and distant. Everything around him was a blur of colors and shapes, and he felt like he was swimming in a sea of confusion.
"Subject of Ymir," he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
The soldiers exchanged confused glances. They had heard him use that phrase before, but they had no idea what it meant.
"Can you hear me?" a voice said, cutting through the haze in Atlas's mind. He looked up to see a woman with dark hair and glasses leaning over him. "I'm Hanji Zoe, a researcher with the Survey Corps. Can you understand me?"
Atlas nodded weakly, still struggling to get his bearings. Hanji gave him a small smile, and the soldiers around them began to relax.
Atlas took a deep breath and tried to collect his thoughts. He realized he was no longer in Titan form, but instead had regained his human form. He looked up at Hanji and the soldiers, who were still staring at him with a mix of awe and confusion.
"Who...who are you?" one of the soldiers finally asked.
Atlas cleared his throat. "My name is Kido, But I'll stick with Atlas for now…" he said, his voice still hoarse from his time as a Titan.
Hanji's eyes widened. "Kido, huh?" she said, stroking her chin thoughtfully. "That's a good name. But what about your Titan form? Do you have a name for that?"
Atlas blinked. He hadn't even considered that his Titan form might need a name. "I...I don't know," he admitted.
Hanji clapped her hands together. "Well, we can't have that," she said. "Every Titan needs a name. Let's see...how about...Zephyr? Yes, that's a good one. Your Titan form shall be known as Zephyr from now on."
Atlas couldn't help but smile a little. It was a strange feeling, being given a name for his Titan form by someone else. But he was grateful to Hanji for taking an interest in him and for treating him with kindness and respect, even though he was a Titan.
"Nah, I like that name, but I like Atlas more. the name sticks to me" Kido replied. "even though it's Greek" he thought while looking at the ground.
"Thank you," he said, looking up at Hanji.
She gave him a nod. "Of course. Now, let's get you out of here and back to safety," she said, motioning for the soldiers to help Atlas to his feet.
As they made their way back to the safety of the walls, Atlas's mind raced with questions. How had he been able to transform into a Titan in the first place? What was the meaning behind the phrase "subject of Ymir"? And what did all of this mean for the future of humanity and the fight against the Titans?
But for now, Atlas was content to simply be alive and to have found allies in this strange, dangerous world.
