It is June in 1897 in London, England. It's a time of great celebration for all Mousedom for their monarch, Queen Mousetoria is celebrating her 60 years as Queen in a Diamond Jubilee. Reporters from all over cover the event including the famed reporter Nellie Brie. She may be here for one story but faces an even greater one when she meets Basil of Baker Street. Basil/Nellie Brie

The Reporter And The Great Mouse Detective Prologue

In the year 1897, mid-June, in London, England it holds a great deal of promise for both its citizens and others that live in other neighboring countries.

The Queen of Mice in London is holding a Diamond Jubilee in London in commemoration of her 60-year reign as Queen and the peace that has been brought along with it.

It's such a tremendously noteworthy event that various news correspondents are covering it from all corners of the globe.

From Manhattan, New York, covering the event for her newspaper the Daily Nibbler is famed reporter Nellie Brie.

Nellie Brie was sent to London by the owner and editor-in-chief of the Daily Nibbler, Reed Daley.

To Nellie Brie's great fortune she manages to arrive in London a couple of days ahead of schedule and so decides to enjoy everything the city has to offer so that she can have a chance to sample herself.

On one such night in a torrential downpour Nellie Brie runs across a chance encounter with a little girl, lost and alone, going by the name Olivia Flaversham.

Through this one meeting, Nellie Brie's path is set on a course with someone she never once ever expected she'd come face to face with.
