Author's Note: I had a theory so I made another short story on what I thought would happen based on that theory. I hope you like it.
End of Author's Note
It was just a few days since Izzy found the pretty lantern with a message on it and she was excited about the possibility of having a real friend. She was so excited she found herself running to the edge of the forest practically every day to see if she could get enough courage to venture out into the world. Unfortunately, it never worked but that didn't stop the young pony from trying.
One day she was making her way to the edge ready to see if it was finally the day to venture out but to her surprise, she saw a pony out in the clearing. This was very unusual since it wasn't every day Bridlewood got a visitor. Izzy was actually pretty excited about a new face but this pony was quite far. So far, in fact, Izzy was very nervous to get closer.
The pony didn't look much bigger than her and the sparkle she saw shimmering from the young pony was pretty dim. Then again most unicorns had dim sparkles but still, this one was dimmer. She could tell the pony was sad and she wanted to help but her nerves prevented her from doing anything.
"Ol Izzy. There is a sad pony that could be your friend. You got to help them. You are ready for this. This is the first step." she said, trying to hype herself up.
Just when she thought she was ready and right when she was about to take the first step out of the forest she noticed another figure in the distance. It was a pony much bigger than the other. Then she noticed something more surprising than another pony in the clearing and that was the fact that Izzy saw this pony's large outstretched wings.
She wasn't sure what was going on but she looked at the young pony and got really scared. Slowly the already dim light coming from the small pony was beginning to dim further. Eventually, Izzy couldn't see the shine at all. This pony for the first time to Izzy had no sparkle.
For some reason, this terrified Izzy to where she ran away without a second thought. She ran back home and hid. For the rest of the day, she stayed there hoping the pegasi she saw wouldn't come for her. After all, her sparkle was probably the brightest in the area. She didn't want her sparkle or happiness to disappear.
When Izzy finally calmed down she realized she left the other pony all by themselves. She was worried for them but was too scared of the other pony to go outside.
"I am sorry. So sorry. Please be ok." Izzy told herself feeling very guilty about abandoning a pony in need.
For a while, the event haunted Izzy. So much so that she didn't return to the edge of the forest until much later in life. It took a while but after many years she finally ventured out to find the sender of the letter. She still wondered what happened to the pony but she never saw them again so she hoped for the best and went on her adventure.
