"Oh, Leo, its perfect," Ladybug whispered, holding a hand to her cheek. "Cat hasn't seen it yet, has he?" "Oh, no. This is a very special Valentine's present, so I've made sure there's been no peeking. Now, how about you go and get him and I'll make a special Valentine treat for you too."
Ladybug nodded, and skipped off to find her partner. She was surprised to see her father working the cash register, thinking Cat had been on it only that morning. A cold feeling seeped into her tummy. Cat hadn't left for the day had he? "Looking for your man?" Tom Dupain asked. Ladybug nodded and blushed. "He is still here isn't he?" "Oh, Tom, your embarrassing Ladybug," Sabine said, gently scolding her husband. "Don't worry, dear, he's only one the back patio, having a catnap."
"Thanks!" Ladybug waved as she went through. She giggled as she spied Cat spread out and snoring on his favorite rock in the courtyard. "Cat, wake up," Ladybug shook him gently. "No," he grumbled, "I'm having the most wonderful dream," he said. "Oh? What about?" No doubt he'd probably say her, but Cat could surprise her at times. "Rubber ducks."
"Come on, Leo's got a surprise for us," she said, shaking him even more vigorously. "Leo's? Okay," he yawned and stretched, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
Cat took her hand as they strolled down the sidewalk, and they posed for a few photos. "Leo, we're back!" Ladybug called. "Ah, Cat Noir! Just the cat I wanted to see." Cat scratched his head. "I am." Ladybug tucked her arm through his. "Close your eyes and follow me. And no peeking!"
Ladybug led Cat to the back room where the special Valentine box was. "Okay, you can open your eyes now!" Cat opened them and gasped. "Bugaboo! Is that us? On a box of chocolate?" Their silhouettes were on the box, Cat holding her hand in a iconic pose. "I made the design, and Leo helped with the box." "Thank you, thank you both," Cat said, catching up both up into a hug. "Paris needs a couple like you," Leo said, placing his hands on their shoulders. "Even if it does have to remain a secret. Now, what isn't a secret is a tiramisu I made for you!"
Cat laughed as Ladybug squealed delightedly. The box of chocolates was eaten throughout the course of the week, but Cat kept the box, a box now empty of chocolate but sweet memories.
