Pretty as the Day We Met

"Don't be a baby. Stop moving." Wednesday scolded Enid for the hundredth time as her roommate flinched away from her touch, "If I don't clean these properly they'll get infected." She grabbed Enid by the chin to keep her still as she dabbed the gashes with alcohol.

Enid let out a painful whine, "It stings. Why can't I just go to the nurse?"

"Because I don't want you out of my sight." The answer was honest but came out a little more aggressive then Wednesday had planned. Her emotions were going all over the place, so much has happened in the last few hours. She needed to get a hold of herself if she wanted to be of help, "You took on a Hyde, you can handle this surely."

Enid chewed on her bottom lip, tearing her face away from Wednesday's hand, her ears pinned against her hair, "Leave me alone, I'm... I'm okay." With her face turned like that she had her scars and her eyes covered up by her hair.

Wednesday frowned. Why did she have to fall for someone who was so stubborn. At times it was cute, now it was just irritating, "Stop behaving like a puppy. You do not look, or sound, okay."

She tried to pull Enid's face back towards her only for the other girl to growl at her. Wednesday pulled back and blinked a few times.

"That's how you want to play now?" Wednesday was mildly impressed. Usually Enid was more tame then this. Perhaps her werewolf transformation made her more bold?

"I hate them." Enid's voice trembled as she spoke. She raised a shaky hand to her face, hissing as her fingers pressed into one of the scars, "I hate this. They ruined my cute face."

"That's what this is about?" Oh for fucks sake. "Are you honestly being this stubborn because you think a few scars are enough to turn me away? Don't insult me mi vida." Her voice became softer then usual, her hand moving with ease and precision as she tucked Enid's colorful, soft hair behind her hear, exposing the scars, "You will always be beautiful in my eyes. If anything these scars make you even more beautiful."

"Really?" Enid's head snapped up to look at her girlfriend, eyes wide and ears perked up and pointed towards her. This puppy-like behavior would be what really kills Wednesday, "You don't hate them? Or think they're ugly?"

Wednesday shook her head and put the cloth down to cup Enid's cheeks, mindful to not press against the scars too much, "You got these while protecting me. How could I think of them as unsightly? I adore them, and I adore you."

Her kisses were like the best medicine, stinging just a little over the sensitive skin but oh, so very sweet. If she had the energy Enid would have pulled her into a hug. "Do... oh my god... was Yoko right? Do ladies dig scars like these?"

Suddenly the kisses stopped and Wednesday pulled away, her face as serious as ever, "I do not know who these ladies are but if they so much as look your way the only thing they'll be digging is their own graves right before I put them in there."

"How scary. I'll be sure to let them know." Enid smiled as she rubbed her nose against Wednesday's, a common sign of affection among her kind.

"Good. Now that you've transformed I can only assume it will make my competition more difficult." Wednesday went back to cleaning up Enid's wound but more gently this time as to not hurt her.

"Nuh-uh. This werewolf is already spoken for." Enid winked up at her and grinned, "But if you're feeling that strongly about this you could always give me your own mark. I'm sure it'd be pretty."

"I have no idea what that means Enid." Apparently Wednesday needs to read up on werewolf courting rituals.

"I'll... tell you later." The thought of having Wednesday as her mate made Enid all giddy and warm on the inside. It was a little early for that right but that it didn't mean she can't look forward to it in the future. Provided she said yes of course, and they actually make it through Nevermore alive.
