Vivid Blue Light

Running into Minako at the aquarium was pure happenstance, and yet, it felt like something more.
Rei was well aware destiny was a constant in her life, in both their lives, really. She didn't doubt that for an instant, so seeing Minako stand and gaze upon at the featured exhibit at the aquarium, on Valentine's Day of all days, it had to be something.
"Didn't expect to see you here, Minako." Rei said, walking up and standing to the blonde, looking up to see the new additions of sea creatures swim in the deep blue tank. No one else was around, so it was just them.
"I could say the same thing, Rei, you weren't following me, were you?" Minako teased, her arms crossed, a knowing look on her face.
Rei shook her head. "Nope, no, I was curious about the new exhibit, and besides, the others are on their dates, so I figured I'd come here."
Minako nodded, stepping closer to Rei, giving her space. "Ah, looks like it's just the two of us then,"
"Yes indeed."
Just then, a pair of opalescent fish moved out from behind a huge piece of coral, swimming side by side, a small distance between them.
"Aww, they look so cute together." Minako replied, her eyes twinkling, uncrossing her arms and clasping her hands with the other girl's, close together. Rei straightened herself, her face growing hot, staying still watching the fish. Minako's fingers brush her own and hand in hand.
"Yes, they sure do,"
"Do you think they're a couple, that's why they're close together?"
"It certainly looks that way."
Minako giggled, and Rei couldn't help but smile at the sound.
The pure, loving light from Minako was always what Rei marveled in her presence, who she had grown to love and cherish.
Minako gently placed her head on Rei's shoulder, smiling. "I'm glad you're here, Rei."
"I'm glad you're here too, Minako."
"It must be fate, for us to meet up here."
Blinking, Rei smiled back, threading her hands with Minako's, a warmth blossoming in her chest.
"You know, I think you're right, it must be fateā¦"
Rei and Minako gazed upon the deep blue wonders in front of them, their hands clasped together, and they didn't need to say anything more.
