So, I wrote this for this year's Valentine's Day Edition of A Picture Is Worth A Thousands Words Contest.

It proudly tied for second place with two other amazing fics and also won a couple other awards. This story was kind of something that I just came up with off the top of my head and as I started to write it, it just sort of flowed out. I'm even considering expanding it and seeing where I can go with more of the back story.

So let me know what you think and if I should continue to expand it or not.

Thanks to everyone who read it and voted in the contest.

Much love 3 3

Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight. I just like to dream that there really is a prefect guy out there lol!

Practice Makes Perfect

Edward led me through the hallway until we reached room number 214. It was Valentine's Day and I giggled at the symbolism of the room number. Edward pushed the key card into the slot on the door and watched it light up green before scooping me up into his arms and pushing the door open.

"I've always wanted to do that, and I figured practice makes perfect." He said, alluding to the same thing I had been thinking about earlier tonight as I watched Edward dance with his friend's new wife.

Edward kissed me before setting me down in the middle of the king-sized bed. "I've been waiting all night to get you alone."

"Me too." I moaned as he continued to kiss his way down my neck and shoulder. "But you're going to have to wait a bit longer, while I go freshen up." I smirked as I pushed him over onto the mattress and hovered above him for a minute. "Don't worry it will be worth the wait."

I then crawled off the bed and grabbed my overnight bag before heading into the bathroom. Edward had been talking about how he couldn't wait to be married but still hadn't proposed even thought we had been dating since high school. I decided tonight was going to be the night I would give him my final hint before I broke down and just proposed myself.

I stared at myself in the mirror as I slipped on the white lingerie set, I had picked out at Victoria's Secret last week. The sale ladies had looked at me kind of funny when I mentioned it was in hopes of getting my boyfriend to finally proposed but I was determined. I sprayed some more perfume and released my hair from the updo I had worn to the wedding, letting it tumble down my back in soft waves.

"Almost done in there?" I heard Edward call through the door.

"Yes, hold your horses." I called back as I took a deep breath and applied a touch more lip gloss.

"Oh, I'll be holding something alright." He said, making me shake my head and roll my eyes.

"Okay Bella, this is it." I said to myself in the mirror quietly as I turned to the door. "Ready." I called to Edward as I turned off the bathroom light.

When I opened the door, I saw the room was bathed in a soft glow from the candles Edward had set up around the room. There were rose petals scattered everywhere and Edward sat in the middle of the bed, clothed in just his boxers.

"Wow…" Was all he could say as he stared at me as I crossed the room and stood at the bottom of the bed.

"I thought I would practice too, since you did say practice makes perfect."

"You are breathtaking…" He said as he crawled to the bottom of the bed and reached out his hand for me to take as I crawled up and stood on my knees in front of him. "I don't know what I did to be so lucky, but I want you to know that I've loved you since the moment I saw you when you sauntered into Mr. Banner's 4th period Biology class and sat next to me."

"Well, I couldn't let Jessica Stanley sit next to the cutest boy in class, now, could I?" I whispered as Edward took my face into his hands.

"She doesn't hold a candle to you baby." He whispered back as he kissed me, moving further down my body with each pass of his lips.

"And I've been in love with you since that day too, Edward." I moaned at he pushed me down onto the bed and covered my body with his.

"Tonight, I'm going to make love to you as if it's our wedding night, and tomorrow we can plan the rest of it." Just then, Edward pulled a ring out from under the pillow next to my head. "I know it might not be the most conventional proposal, but you surprised with that sexy outfit, and I forgot everything I had memorized. Please, Isabella Marie Swan say you'll be my Valentine and my wife?"

"Oh, Edward, of course I'll marry you." I stared at the gorgeous pink heart-shaped diamond as Edward slipped it onto my ring finger. "I love you, so much Edward Anthony Cullen."

I kissed Edward as his hands returned to my body and one hand began to slowly peel off the strap of my bra while the other slipped underneath and popped the hooks on the first try.

"You always were good at that." I giggled as his lips began their descent down my body stopping to tease each nipple with his tongue.

"I'll show you what else I'm good at." And with that, Edward had removed my panties and began to devour me.

The sun was beginning to creep through the curtains as I laid tangled up in Edward's arms. Last night had been a night to remember for sure. Edward and I had practiced all night long and on every surface in this hotel room.

"Penny for your thoughts?" I heard Edward murmur as he pulled me closer to him and took my left hand into his before kissing the ring that now proudly lived there.

"I was just thinking about last night, and all that practicing we did." I giggled as I placed a kiss on his neck.

"Well check out isn't for a few more hours and I'm sure our news can wait to tell our families as well, how about we do a bit more practicing… only maybe this time we practice for what comes after the wedding."

Edward rolled me onto my back and pulled the sheets away. "Are you talking about what I think you're talking about, Mr. Cullen?"

"I'm thinking Valentina for a girl and Cupid for a boy, Mrs. Soon-to-be Cullen."
