Hey there folks! It's lightning, and uh... this is awkward. I just disappeared on you guys for four months straight with no explanation whatsoever only to reappear outta nowhere with another fanfic! Well, what can I say? College's been hell for me, and I barely get time to do my own work, let alone pursue my hobbies. But, enough of whining, I'm back, and that's all that matters. I can't promise any consistent updates and posts, but I'll try my best.

As usual, I don't own Kung Fu Panda. (Not yet, at least.)

The dragon warrior stirred in his sleep. Golden specks of dust danced in the soft early sunlight through the window of his humble abode that was his room at the jade palace. A cool morning breeze graced his form, but he couldn't feel it ruffling his fur nor did he feel the familiar chill that came with it that he was so accustomed to feeling every morning. That was odd, and on the contrary, instead of the cold wind, he felt a comfortable warmth wrapped around him. Not bothering to think why exactly he experienced the said phenomenon, he snuggled further into the warmth, melting into it's silky embrace. His nose twitched as his favorite smell ran rampant through his nose. (And no, unlike what many would think, it wasn't that of a warm bowl of his father's secret ingredient soup. That, was his second favorite smell.) All of a sudden, realization hit the panda as his eyes shot open. He didn't have a silky warm blanket nor should he be able smell the scent he had come to cherish, since neither of these ever existed in his room before! He frantically tried to force away the sleep, trying to make sense of what exactly was going on. If he wasn't supposed to be experiencing what he was, then where in the world exactly was he to make him feel this way?

Tired jade eyes fluttered open as his blurred vision tried to adjust to the sunlight pouring into his room. Slowly, his mind began to catch up with the situation, and so did his panic begin to rise. The silky texture that he was so warmly covered with wasn't a blanket, it was fur. And the intoxicating jasmine scent wasn't due to any flowers, he realized it smelled like… like… her.

And now it hit him like a ton of bricks. He was going to be one dead panda walking if what he was thinking was real. There was no way he was so tired after last night's training so as to straight up go and sleep in her room! Right? The bamboozled and, admittedly, scared out of his mind ursine hastily tried to get up, only to be weighed down by something… no… someone. Finally willing the last of his sleep away and dizziness out of his mind, he dared to move his eyesight away from the pretty view in the window and allowed it to drift in front of him. And boy, was he shocked, the view outside his window didn't even hold a candle to the beauty of the spectacle that lay beside him.

With a tranquil smile on her face, and her right arm protectively looped around his neck, lay his beautiful striped goddess, sprawled out half-way over him, her rich auburn fur glowed in the rays amidst which stood out against the starkly contrasting black stripes which adorned her in a hypnotic pattern . Her head lay on his outstretched arm using it as her pillow, and her left paw rested on his chest. Her warm breaths hitting his chest sent shivers of euphoria up and down his spine, and the look on her face simply stated that she was in heaven. His own nose was buried in her shoulder, thus explaining her intoxicating aroma. He realized that he had subconsciously draped his own arm around her waist as well, and her right leg was curled up on his left one. The poor panda was furiously blushing. He didn't expect to wake up in the same bed with the woman of his dreams, let alone in such an intimate embrace.

The Dragon Warrior did a quick scan of his surroundings to make sure that he was indeed in his own room, giving some extent of relief to his previous thought of "accidentally" ending up sleeping in someone else's room. So that must mean…

Jade orbs widened at the implication, as that would mean she herself had snuck up here unbeknownst to him in the midst of the night. And even though he was mortified out of his wits, he couldn't help but melt at the sight, and a warm smile spread on his face as he adoringly looked at her. His blush grew a darker shade of red when he realized that all she was wearing were her bindings and a bandage wrapped around her torso, much like the one he had around him, her iconic crimson qipao and her jet-black trousers were kept neatly folded on his table, right near the random scrolls that he was reading the other day. That explained why he could feel her soft fur brush up against his whenever he moved.

His hand had acquired a mind of it's own and try as he might, he couldn't control it's actions. He tenderly traced his paw along the length of her back, running his fingers delicately over her soft fur and over the toned muscles that she possessed under her beatific exterior.

The slumbering feline warrior was awoken out of her sleep by the gentle hand caressing her back. She slowly moved her head up, her fur and her whiskers grazing against his cheek sent his mind into a pleasurable state of delight. Amber irises fluttered open and started deep into the ocean of emerald, her smile never faltering as she closed in further to his face, her warm breath spilling over his nose. An involuntary shudder rocked his body as he drowned in her heavenly voice, making him almost forget what he was going to say. By the heavens, was it so easy to get lost in her.

"Sleep well?" Her sultry voice sounded like a harmonious symphony for his ears, and he just nodded dumbfoundedly, while his eyes nervously darted around the room trying to look at anything but those gorgeous sunset irises staring deep into his soul all the while miserably failing to do so. The raging blush on his cheeks didn't help either. The tiger chuckled amusedly at his flustered, scared and timid reaction all bunched up into one expression.

"W-When did you get here? What made y-you sleep here? With… with me?" He stuttered out. Was it always this hard to speak? The diminutive gap between their muzzles and their intensely locked gazes weren't helping either.

Her smile never faltered as she swiftly closed the gap between their muzzles, capturing his unsuspecting lips in a sweet loving kiss. Po's eyes flew open as he felt her soft lips upon his, but closed again as he melted into the intimate gesture, soon reciprocating as well. The panda was convinced he was either dead or dreaming, whatever was the case, he prayed to the gods above to allow this moment to never end. Electric sparks ignited a flame deep within his soul and spread all throughout his body, warming him to the core.

As they separated, Po held a half dazed-half confused expression, but that didn't stop the goofy lovestruck grin from plastering itself to his face. Tigress merely smirked at him, but a seriousness soon overtook her face. She held a surprising amount of promise and determination in her eyes as she softly whispered to him in her heavenly voice again,

"I already almost lost you once." She spoke with a firm yet affectionate tone that she only ever used with Po, as she caressed the back of his neck with her paw that was wrapped around it. "I'm not going to lose you again."

Po's hand intrinsically moved over to her sides, carefully running his paw over the edges of the wound that was now scarring, courtesy of Shen. He didn't know how to respond to his tiger's amorous statement, so he merely tightened his hold over his waist pulling her closer and buried his face in the crook of her neck.

"What did I do to deserve someone so strong and beautiful as you, Tigress?" Came his muffled voice.

Tigress snickered at the ticklish sensation of her panda's nose burrowing into her fur. And replied back,

"No, it is I who should be asking what I ever did to deserve someone as wonderful as you." She whispered into his year, planting a soft kiss near the nape of his neck as she drew back to bury her face in his arms.

"Can we sleep in?" Asked the black and white bear, really not wanting to get out of his bed, especially now that she was there with him. He really hoped she'd cut him some slack just this once, they both needed a break after they broke themselves, quite literally, during their mission in Gongmen.

Tigress didn't reply verbally, as she slowly draped the sheets over their cuddled forms with her tail and went back to slumber, wrapped up in the arms of the only one to have ever unlocked her heart, and taught it to love for that matter. Po secretly did an imaginary celebratory fist-pump in his mind and with a wider grin than the one he woke up with, went back to sleep. This time though, he didn't wander into dreamland, he didn't need to visit that place anymore. Now, he was living the dream.

I know, I know. It's a little too short for my own liking as well, but I just had this idea of Tigress not being able to stay away from Po anymore after enduring the trauma of watching him die (from her perspective, at least.) and I HAD to write down a short sweet little moment between the two on that. As always, please feel free to leave a review, I value your input a lot. Keep staying awesome, this is Lightning, signing off.
