.:Extra Gift:.
It was already a late night in the Kuchiki mansion and Byakuya had already gone to bed. Yet his wife wasn't anywhere to be seen. Slightly puzzled, he got up from the bed and put on his nightrobe. He briefly glanced to the side at his Valentine's gift. He had wanted to put it on display in the mansion, but Tomoyo had rejected that idea. She had told him he should wear the haori on special occasions, instead of merely putting it on the display. Clothes were to be worn, after all.
Slowly, Byakuya walked from their shared bedroom to another room and then toward Tomoyo's dressing room. He could sense his wife just beyond the door. Slowly, he knocked on the door awaiting his wife's reply.
"Come in," he could hear from the other side. Quietly, Byakuya opened the door and stepped inside just to freeze at the doorway. In front of a huge dressing table sat his wife, dressed up in a Wakame Ambassador outfit. Despite the fact, anyone else would have thought Tomoyo looked ridiculous in it, Byakuya found her utterly cute as she looked at him. His gaze eventually shifted to her hands where she held a long, square gift box.
Lifting the box, Tomoyo offered the box to her husband.
"This is my extra Valentine's gift to you, Byakuya," she told him softly. The noble Shinigami nodded his head stiffly, accepting the gift.
Slowly, he pulled the huge ribbon away from the top of the gift box, unwrapping it. He then carefully lifted the lid, just to look in a puzzled manner inside the box. The box was empty. Confusion filled Byakuya as he looked once again at his wife. He could see playfulness in her eyes as she grabbed the zipper of the onesie.
"Sorry, I got a bit impatient, so I already took out your extra Valentine's gift…" she stated slowly as she pulled the zipper down before she stepped outside from the costume. The costume dropped softly behind Tomoyo down to the floor, revealing she was wearing a cobalt blue babydoll outfit with matching ribbons in her hair. It was the color of the Sixth Division.
Slowly, Tomoyo lifted her arms up and wrapped her hands behind her husband's neck.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Byakuya," she wished to him once again, before she let out a surprised yelp as Byakuya lifted her into a princess carry. "B-Byakuya?"
Without a word, Byakuya quickly shunpoed back to their bedroom, his speed so fast even Yoruichi would have lost to him. Laughter escaped from Tomoyo's lips as she leaned against her husband happily, knowing her this year's Valentine's gift had been a huge success.
