A/N: I hope you like it :)

Tucker watched his two best friends discuss the ghost fight from last night. They were on their way to school and if it wasn't for today being Valentine's Day it would have been nothing special. While Tucker hoped to get a few gifts, he was aware that if anyone deserved a little bit of the Valentine's Day spirit it would be Danny and Sam. His clueless best friends had been dancing around their feelings for each other far too long already and no matter what he tried they were set on not talking about it. How both of them could be brave enough to fight ghosts but were too shy to confront their feelings for each other, would always puzzle him.

Sighing he watched Sam's look of disgust when they entered the school, which was decorated for Valentine's Day.

"This is such a waste of paper. All these trees that had to be used only to celebrate this commercial holiday."

Danny nodded in agreement but Tucker couldn't help but notice the disappointed look in his eyes. He was sure that Danny would be willing to buy overpriced roses if they were for Sam and maybe Sam wouldn't mind a red heart-shaped card if it came from Danny. However knowing his best friends Tucker knew that both of them wouldn't voice these thoughts.

"Fentoe, there you are." Dash's booming voice greeted them at Danny's locker and pulled Tucker out of his thoughts.

The football player wasn't looking very happy and Tucker could only guess that his Valentine's Day wasn't going any better than his. If the last Valentine's Day was any indication, Paulina had probably rejected his gift because it wasn't expensive enough and now Dash had to let his anger out on someone. Just as Tucker was about to tell his friends that maybe it would be better to go to class as quickly as possible, Danny was Dash's favorite to bully in moments like these after all, the football player stepped closer to them.

"No one would want to spend Valentine's Day with you anyway, loser." Dash closed in on Danny. "So why don't I save you the embarrassment. In your locker no one will notice that no one loves you."

With that Dash shoved Danny in his locker once again. That was exactly what Tucker had wanted to prevent.

After Dash had gone to class, laughing all the way with his friends, Sam stepped up to Danny's locker. Looking around she saw that there were still enough students around, so Danny couldn't use his ghost powers. Sighing she gently knocked on the locker.

"What is the combination, Danny?"

At first she couldn't understand him, but then almost in a whisper he answered her.

"It's your birthday."

A deep blush stained Sam's cheeks at his answer and she could hear Tucker snickering next to her. The bats, because goths surely didn't have butterflies in their stomachs, were back again and Sam found her heartbeat racing. It wasn't like her combination to her locker wasn't his birthday, but knowing that he had hers as well made her happy.

"Lovebirds." Tucker smirked next to her.

Pointedly ignoring Tucker and still fighting her blush, Sam put in the combination. As soon as the locker opened Danny fell out and at her feet.

"Seems like he has fallen for you, Sam." Tucker was full on laughing at his own joke.

While Sam finally lost her fight against her blush, Danny's face was now clearly joining hers in the competition for the deepest red. Danny knew that Tucker's words were technically true in more ways than one. He had fallen for her a long time ago. For Sam Tucker's words felt like he had pointed out her feelings for Danny with his comment.

The school bell interrupted the awkward moment between the best friends, but while Tucker walked to class neither Sam nor Danny could move. There was this feeling between them that had been left unsaid for so long and that it was Valentine's Day pushed this emotion closer to the surface. If Danny was completely honest with himself he had stopped being clueless for a while. He didn't know when exactly he had realized it, but one day he just knew that he was in love with Sam. That realization had shocked him, but then again Sam and him had always been close and she was an amazing girl. However that he was aware of his feelings for her didn't mean that he was brave enough to tell her. They were best friends and the possibility that she didn't feel that way about him was a risk he hadn't been willing to take since he had realized his feelings.

His thoughts were interrupted when a student, clearly late to class, ran past them and accidentally hit Sam with his shoulder. Not having been prepared for the impact Sam fell forward and directly into Danny's arms. For a moment they were too surprised to react, but then Sam spoke up.

"Seems like now I have fallen for you."

Danny knew that she was trying to play their closeness off as a joke like the one Tucker had made, but was he really willing to let her go like that. Maybe it was the Valentine's Day spirit around them or the fact that these feelings finally wanted to be known, but Danny found himself pulling her closer instead of letting her go. This was a chance to change their relationship and for once he wanted to be brave as Danny Fenton and not only as Danny Phantom.

"I would like for that to be true." He said shyly.

Sam's eyes widened at Danny's words. Was her mind playing tricks on her or was Danny really trying to tell her something with this? She would be lying to herself if she didn't wish for him to mean it like she thought he did. They had danced around the romantic tension between them for so long. Maybe it was time to take that last step. He had just made the first step and she was willing to continue what he had started.

"It has been true for some time." Her voice was just as soft as his had been.

Danny had never been happier when he heard her reply and saw her smile shyly at him. Closing the last distance between them he finally kissed her for real. They had fallen for each other indeed.

A/N: Happy Valentine's Day :)
