National Signing Day

Walking into his highschool bathroom, young Naruto Uzumaki looked through the halls that he walked through for the past years, reminiscing all the things he did in the halls, from his first day of big school to winning two state championships. These halls have seen a lot of celebrations from the past years, except last year since Naruto had to take care his grandmother the entire football season, due to this only a limited amount of schools still wanted to recruit him. Five to be exact.

Walking into the bathroom Naruto looked at his reflection in the mirror, as he just opened the tap and splashed some water on his face. Looking up and seeing his drenched face the blond sighed. "Okay one last re-run. 'Guys I just want to thank my O-line for protecting me throughout my high school career and my receivers for catching my passes, I couldn't have done it without them and Coach Jiraiya for having faith with me as a rookie.' yeah that should do it." the blond told himself as he was about to leave but then a voice came out from one of the stalls.

"Hey don't forget to thank your mom, never forget to thank your mom." Naruto was surprised when he heard this since, as he looked in the stall he couldn't help but chuckle. "Choji? Is that you?"

"Was it that obvious?"

"Ah yeah, you were in my O-line. You literally made me have zero sacks my entire career, of course I would know my saviour's voice." hearing a flush as a reply Naruto watched the door being swung open as Naruto watched Chojo walking out and going to the basin. "Well now that you mention it, I am the reason why you had so much time to make passes, and because of the fact you owe me, how about telling me where you're signing?"

"I...haven't decided yet, that's why I'm in here." he replied. "Stage fright?"

"Yeah."

"Well, there's no need for that I know you'll make the right choice."

"So what about you where are you going?"

"Me? I was planning on going wherever you and Shikamaru are going."

"You still want to tag along with us? I thought you'd want to stay close to home."

"And miss out on playing football?! I don't think I would last long without pancaking some defensive lineman."

"So you want to still protect me from them?"

"What can I say, the past few years I've made you precious to me, is it wrong that I want to win some national titles in college?"

"I guess not."

"Alright Naruto let's just get this over and done with, choose a cap of the college you want to go with and well just take it from there." Shikamaru Nara, the team kicker and punt kicker explained as he seemed bored, his demeanor was like this due to the fact he tested his fate to be with Naruto since they were a great duo and he didn't trust anyone else to hold the ball for him when he's about to kick a field goal. "Well you aren't very enthusiastic but sure." Naruto stood up looking over at all the school caps, Naruto decided to add some flare.

"You know what, let's just pick random." Naruto closed his eyes ,much to everyone's surprise he began turning around a few times as he then spoke. "The one I either touch or fall on is the school I pick...woah!" Naruto tripped on his own shoelace and much to the shock of everyone in the gym the blond landed on... "WOAH! YEAH BABY! THAT'S THE SAME COLLEGE I WENT TO." one of the spokespersons shouted out, when Naruto looked over the table to see which cap did his hand landed on he was pretty much shut up by what he saw. 'Well this is going to be...interesting.' Naruto thought as he picked up the cap as he wore it.

"I guess we're going here everyone." Naruto smiled with a bright smile as he put the team cap on Shikamaru's head while Choji joined the two as he was eating some chips. "You put the fate of our career's to luck?!" Shikamaru muttered as he kept his smile for the camera's. "Well you're the one that wanted to follow me so if you were to be surprised I also wanted to be."

Shikamaru just sighed. "What a drag, I should have listened to my gut and choose for myself."

"Oh come on Shika, it's Penn State. We'll have the starting jobs in no time. What's the worst that could happen?" begrudgingly Shikamaru shrugged his shoulders while Choji just gulped his last serving. 'What did I just get myself into?' he thought

Few Months Later

The first day of college for Naruto Uzumaki was something else. Having arrived in Pennsylvania from his hometown, Burleson, Texas. Naruto sighed as he took a breath of fresh air, having used a taxi to arrive to the main campus, the seventeen year old watched as already other cars with families unpacking their cars with their children's stuff began to walk into the buildings.

'This is it...moving-in day.' Naruto thought since not too long ago he graduated from high school and now he was here in college. "Yo!" the taxi driver called out, dragging Naruto out of his daydreaming, "I have places to be man, so can you please stop ogling about college!" the man shouted, as Naruto chuckled. "Yeah, yeah It'll only take me a bit." unloading all of his things out of the truck, the taxi pulled away leaving Naruto with boxes filled with his things on the sidewalk. "Talk about zero customer service," he complained as he sighed since now he needed to stay with his things or else they would get stolen.

*ring*ring*

His phone rang, and taking it out he spoke. "Oh hey grandma." Naruto greeted his guardian. "Hey, baby how's the trip, have you landed yet?" she asked. "Yeah I'm off the plane, took a cab to the campus but the man ditched me on the sidewalk with my stuff."

"Oh Naruto, that's a shame, I hope that man had a serious issue for leaving you stranded like that."

"Oh don't worry I'll give his company a bad Yelp review." changing the subject Naruto's grandmother spoke. "So how's Penn State? Is it how you've imagined it?" she asked as Naruto just looked around. "It's honestly not bad, but I am getting homesick."

"Well, you should have come and got into a school back here, but you love that dream of yours so much you wanted to stay away from granddma."

"No it's not like that, you know I'll always come running to you no matter what."

"Uh huh, well let me not keep you, I just wanted to check if you got there safely, I'll call you later once you got settled in, bye baby."

"Bye grandma." closing the call Naruto returned to the realization that he still needed to find his dorm and move in. 'Damn it! I'm gonna need some help.' Kyle thought as he decided to call for any passing bystanders. "Hello sir." the man he called out wore a blue shirt and beige pants as he had a bald head and wore glasses.

"Yeah, sorry but could you please help me out." Naruto called out as the man approached him with a smile. "Sure what seems to be the problem?" he asked. "Well it's just you see I need an extra pair of eyes to look after my things as I try to move in and I don't want anyone to steal them, so could you please come out of your time and help me?"

"Why sure, that doesn't seem like a big thing, you a freshman or returning student?"

"Freshman."

"Ahh, you going to rush for a fraternity?"

"No, that's not my thing, I wouldn't even have the time, promised my grandma I'll give my all to my academics." Naruto replied as the man smiled. "Okay, that's nice. You know which building is your dorm?"

"Yeah it's in the building over there." he pointed to the building that was just down the road. "Okay then Building 1, which room?" Naruto wasn't sure so he took out the paper that the administrator gave him. "Room...8." the man nodded. "Okay, you can go there I'll stay with your things." Naruto just smiled at that. "Thank you sir." quickly grabbing the box with some of his clothes., he turned to the man. "I'll be back," he assured him as he walked to the building. The halls were so loud and people were all over the place, some coming in and some coming out. Naruto was lucky enough that he was able to walk up the stairs and find his room.

"Room 8, finally." opening the door he was met with a small room that had a bunk bed, a dresser, study table with a lamp some cabinets and a stove. "Looks like I got here before my roommate...if that's the case." he put his box on the bottom bunk since the top bunk wasn't that alluring the last time he slept on the top he rolled off and banged his head hard, so that's why he never liked the top bunk.

Leaving his dorm and returning to the man from earlier.
