Little Teen Titans story I wrote for Valentine's Day. Hope it's okay. ^^;
Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans.
"Alright, y'all! Let's fill this tower with love for this one day of the year - Valentine's Day! Booyah!"
Cyborg pointed his arm cannon upwards before firing into the air. Instead of a sonic blast, however, something completely different flew out of it; bright red rose-petals and heart-shaped papers. They fluttered down gently to land all over everything in sight within the lounge. The majority of them happened to stick to the one person in Titans Tower who was not feeling the Valentine's Day spirit.
"Can't believe you guys are indulging into this nonsense," Raven muttered bitterly. "It's just a stupid excuse for retailers to make a profit off flowers and chocolates. Why do people get suckered into this cooperate scheme? Showing others how you care about them should be shown all year around, not just one day."
"Aww!" Beast Boy gave a smile of fake pity as he nudged Raven. "That's exactly what someone who never gets anything on Valentine's Day would say."
The half-demon averted her blank gaze to the shapeshifter. "I'll have you know I get Valentine's Day cards sent to me year after year."
"You boy?" Beast exclaimed with a surprised raise of his eyebrow. "There must be some guys in this city with money to burn if they're spending it on you!"
"You're not kidding," Raven agreed. "For that's exactly what I do to all these cards; burn them all!"
Beast Boy frowned. He was disgusted at the idea that some people's efforts to please this cynical girl on this special day of the year went up in flames. He didn't realise Raven was being as sarcastic as ever.
Listening in on their conversation from nearby, Robin smiled in amusement. He knew perfectly well that Raven didn't believe in Valentine's Day. Not at all like the only other girl in their lives - who was very special to the Boy Wonder.
"Um, Robin…"
Robin's ears perked up as he heard the sweet voice of the very person on his mind. His heart raced as he felt her tap him gently on the shoulder. He turned to face her, his face brightening up as he saw her standing there in all her shining beauty.
"Hey, Star…"
Starfire smiled shyly at the Titan she was closest too. Her cheeks were turning as red as her hair. She pulled out something from behind her back, holding it out towards Robin.
"I would like to wish you," she murmured, "a happy day of Valentine's."
Robin he took what Starfire was offering him. He held it in his gloved hand as he observed it through his mask. He smiled when he saw that it was a heart-shaped card. He gazed at the girl who had given it to him, smiling gratefully towards her.
"Thanks, Star. Happy Valentine's Day to you."
Starfire's smile grew, the shade of red on her face turning deeper. She held her hands out before her, fidgeting in front of the boy she really like.
"Please, Robin … Will you be my … Valentine?"
Robin gazed at the girl before him. It was highly surreal that someone as wonderful as her was directing such a question towards him. Keeping the heart-shaped card in one hand, he pulled his other one out from underneath his cape - bringing a stunned gasp out of Starfire when she saw what he had.
"Do you really need to ask, Star?" Robin beamed as he held the bunch of colourful flowers out towards the Tamaranean. "You know I will always be your Valentine. Not just on Valentine's Day, but on every day of the year - forever."
Starfire's green eyes sparkled. She was moved by what Robin had assured her - which she knew to be true. She happily took the flowers from the Boy Wonder - before pressing her smiling lips against his cheek.
"Thank you, Robin," she giggled. "I love you."
"Love you too, Star!"
Thanks for reading. Hope you liked. :)
