I own nothing Kuroinu belongs to Liquid and Fate Grand Order belongs to Type-Moon

(Sèitheach perspective)

I was in and out of consciousness, as I felt what I assume was the boat around me gently float side to side down the river until I heard someone call out but it was blurred and confusing at first in fact I don't even understand a single word, either they spoke another language or I had lost to much blood; either way I will pass soon.

(Three days later)

I snapped awake sitting up, before realizing the pain I was in still but I was bandaged up and a woman was next to me shocked and scared from my sudden movements. She placed her hands on my shoulders pushing me back down saying "Sir, you must rest your injuries are still healing," she looked to the door; "Mother Helen; the man has woke up."

I once again tried to get up; only to be stopped as the door opened and a elderly woman walked in and she also tried to calm me down. After a few minutes they managed to convince me to save my energy as the elder, probably Mother Helen, asked me some questions. "Young man, where are you from and how did you end up so injured?"

The younger lady brought me something to drink as I sigh in slight relief from the dryness of my throat fading. "I hail from… I can't recall."

The old lady smiled sadly at me as she spoke. "Ah a lost soul sent down river after a nasty battle, you're so young but to receive such an injury to the head surely you must remember something." She seemed worried that I came in so injured to her care as I pondered for a moment. "My name is Sèitheach; what do you mean another lost soul?" I asked.

She sighed as she looked outside a window. I followed her gaze to see families crying at a graveyard. "That graveyard out there is almost filled with out young men and fathers who went to fight the Legion as reports came in that they were getting closer."

I once again force myself up growling at the sight before it dawns on me what this means. "So all your young and able men had to leave, but who will protect the town if they fail or the enemies sneak past them?" I say while continuing to move to my feet brushing away their hand as they try to stop me.

Mother Helen sighed as she spoke, her voice soft and almost broken. "Sadly, even our guard has to go down to one or two, and that's only to keep the peace and warn us if the demons are coming." She then let tears fall as she tried to stop me again. "Please rest young man, I can't watch another one die, or bare to see another young woman taken. My heart grows too weak to bare that thought."

I stared at her a moment as she cried, my heart felt weak seeing her cry as I tried to comfort her before speaking, "What do you mean another young woman taken?" my heart dreaded the answer.

Mother Helen was to broken up to tell me so the young woman spoke up "The woman get kept alive and raped by the dark army, it's horrible a friend of mine wet out there and joined the Iris Knights, under Alicia Arcturus. I just hope she is okay."

I grimly nodded as I looked around the room, seeing something that seemed familiar to me, it was wrapped up on dark cloth but the tip of the spear was still visible; as I separated from Mother Helen and moved to it. I grabbed it with my eyes hardening before I spoke "I remember a story my mother told me but not much else, if these monsters wish to cause harm to you, or this village I will be your faithful Cú from this night on; until you have your men returned, or the threat is gone." with a spear in hand I bowed to the Mother and nun "Now, which way would they most likely come from?"

Mother Helen spoke to me, "Are you insane you need rest!" I retorted quickly, "I'll rest while I keep watch." She responded with a resigned voice "You won't rest until I tell you will you?" I nod as she sighs "The North gate or the woods, the gate has the guards switch every 12 hours to keep watch, but the woods are so thick farther in that it's nearly impossible to see more than 20 feet in."

I nod as I spoke "Where are the woods?" She sighed in relief before saying "Right behind us outside." I walked out to where she said and sat against the wall, my eyes constantly scanning the treeline.

(Four weeks later)

Weeks had passed as I kept watch over the forest Mother Helen and Sister Lillian brought me food throughout the day, constantly worried about my health, but no one else could do it right now so I had to sleep with one eye open. Today was different from the rest; I felt it in my core as rain poured down around me. Footsteps approached me as I turned to see who it was, something was draped over me. "You idiot, how effective do you think you can fight if you get sick and that takes you?" Sister Lillian said as she stood next to me.

Just then my eyes spotted something in the woods. The conditions made it almost impossible to identify but it wasn't the normal wildlife as I tensed up and my hand grabbed the spear next to me, I barely had time to react as an arrow came flying towards my head. Rolling away I looked at Sister Lillian shouting, "No Lillian get to safety and warn the town!" I found cover as more arrows came flying at me, as she escaped.

(1 mile away from Wolfhaven third person perspective)

Alicia and her forces moved quickly to the village of Wolfhaven as reports of a large enemy force reached the forest and Wolfhaven was the nearest settlement to where the force was heading, what was worse is most of their able bodies either joined the Black Dogs or Feoh's ranks. "Lady Alicia, our scouts report smoke rising from Wolfhaven." The knight had rushed up bowing as her voice was a bit worried and frantic as she spoke. Alicia sighed "We'll save as

many as we can tell but we must double time it if the villagers are fighting back it could buy us the time we need."

(Wolfhaven Sèitheach perspective)

I rolled to avoid another arrow before thrusting my spear into the threat of an orc rushing me. Resetting my stance to keep myself agile, I moved quickly through the battlefield dodging or deflecting arrows that came at me, as I tried to hold them back. I made myself a massive target as more and more tried to pin me down; then I heard it screams and then the enemies in front of me laughed. They attack the gate as well, which means they killed the guards and now they are running through the village trying to find people. Then I heard an old man's voice shout. "Get them women and children to the church, we will buy you time!"

An imp tried to jump on me as I thrust the spear into its gut, throwing it over me into the ground before stomping on its head, removing the spear with a tug. "Who's next?" A grin grew on my face. A large orc walked up his stature makes him a leader of some kind as he spoke out. "I challenge you young warrior to honorable combat to the death!" I stared at him before speaking, my voice hardened. "And what's to stop your men that I should honor your request?" The orc spoke again "Men, halt let me deal with the warrior then we shall continue." The dark army forces around me fell back behind their leader as he prepared to face me. In his hands a massive ax seems worn on the wood but other than that rather well maintained. The orc looked at me and asked, "What is your name, young warrior?"

I answered him honestly, "Sèitheach, and your's?" He Chuckled "You're the first to ever ask that young wolf, my name is Kramm." We paced around each other sizing each other up; the sounds of battle fading away as it was just us here now. We both waited for the other to make the first move; that's when it happened as lightning struck and thunder filled the silence he charged, swinging at me barely dodging as blood went down my right arm. I thrust the spear into his shoulder as he recovered from his first strike but was unable to react as his hand whirled around his strength sending me rolling away as I spit out blood from the blow.

He Roared his ax firmly in his left hand as he charged at me as I recovered, he tried to bring it down on my back as I rolled away from him creating space for me to get up before gripping the spear to throw it. The spear flew through the air going through the orcs head ending the fight as I breathed heavily going to grab my spear until I felt it two imps had snuck up during the fight and one bit my left calf while the other jumped on my back digging its claws into them. I thrashed, throwing them off of me as I screamed in pain. I ripped the spear from the orc's skull and got ready for more but then someone pulled me back.

A knight had appeared and was pulling me to safety as more moved past us to push back the army as they retreated. Scanning the field I saw the knights commander who must have been one of these Princess knights who are blessed by their goddess. Eventually I was led to meet their commander directly. As she glared at me all I could think was what did I do to get on her bad side?

"You're a fool and a possible coward for not joining the army when we were recruiting." She said her voice was harsh and her glare felt like it was trying to dig into my soul but was failing as I started chuckling as I responded. "Listen milady as far as I know I was already in your army. These people found me wounded one day and saved my life, I owed them my spear as protection." Her face was red with rage as she spoke, "I will have you in shackles and brought before Lady Celestine for desertion then soldier, let's see if you're laughing then!"

Just then a man cleared his throat "I believe he's one of mine actually," turning to face the man I saw an older man with black hair, and a massive sword on his back and my instinct was screaming don't trust this newcomer as if he kill me if I got in his way "Lost him a week or two ago after a skirmish went wrong thought he died glad to see he made it out okay." He's lying and something tells me he wants me for some reason.

"Of course this trash is one of your, I swear you should teach your men proper discipline or I will." The princess said coldly. "Hey I've been courteous to those who deserve it, lady." I snapped back and we glared at each other as if the man sensed the tension he stepped between us and moved me to the exit "Well it's been fun and all but I should get him to some help we'll see you at the capital to see what Celestine wants with us all there now that this is handled." She said one last thing before she was out of earshot to me "Keep your damn mutt on a leash or I'll kill him next time."

After we got away he got my wound healed with magic from a man named Kin and then slapped me on the head "Are you an idiot kid trying to pick a fight with Alicia is insane and I was sticking my neck out to save your ass after all can't lose a damn good fighter like you to some princess with an attitude problem. Get some rest, we're heading for Geofu in the morning when the storm passes."
