I was reading a bunch of Kancolle fics out of boredom and I decided to write a sort of spinoff to that Kancolle/Stellaris/RWBY oneshot I made earlier. Enjoy.
Also note, I'm still having a writers block and just don't have the energy at the moment to push on. Both a chapter for Remnant: Stellar Shock and Awe and To Command and Conquer are in the works, but high school sucks.
That and geography sucks.
Now, where was I?
P.S, I'm perfectly fine if anyone wants to take any of my 'dead' stories or one shots and adapt them into their own. Just leave some credit for me please.
Important Announcement
Due to the arrival of additional personnel from the Emerald Hunters and these…..Kamusu, we have been thus asked to contribute to a list of rules to control the madness. Please for the love of god, don't break these rules. The property damage we have to fix is getting out of control.
Thank you,
Professor Goodwitch, Beacon Academy.
Rule 540,357: UNS/USS Kitty Hawk, stop trying to ram Grimm Sea-Feliongs. I know you rammed a Soviet submarine and several Abyssal subs but you don't need to prove your point as an anti-submersible carrier weapon. All don't ram them at full speed please.
Glynda and Sydney stared at the damage done to the Valean docks, only weeks ago had Blake destroyed the same place.
"How!?" Glynda was speechless as to how this much damage was caused in less than five minutes.
Sydney, being the son of the former commander of the Kamusu naval force, just sighed. "Magical Sparkly Shipgirl/boy bullshit." Sydney's eyes narrowed on a demolished warehouse and picked out a familiar girl.
UNS Kitty Hawk, of the Kitty Hawk class of supercarriers and summoned at the height of the Terran-Abyssal War, was groaning in pain due to being lodged part way into a warehouse wall.
"Hey Battle Cat!" the red hair and cat looking faunus Shipgirl looked up at her commander and blushed with embarrassment. "How'd this happen?!"
20 minutes before
Teams JNPR, RWBY, and UNS Kitty Hawk
"So you're a spirit of a warship the Emerald hunters designed centuries ago." Wiess said, looking over the newly arrived Kamusu sent to reinforce Beacon.
"Yup. USS Kitty Hawk, at your service ma'am." Kitty gave a salute.
The two teams of first years just stared, and then bursted into laughter.
"Kitty….kitty Hawk?" Ruby giggled.
"Bwwahhahah! What kind of name is Kitty Hawk!?" Nora couldn't stop laughing.
Both teams stopped laughing when Nora found a Phalanx CWIS pointed in her face.
"Kindly don't joke about my name or I'll have to defend my namesake. I'll let you know I've felled beasts worse than the Grimm." Kitty Hawk smirked in victory as both teams nodded.
"...so, what are we doing out here again?" Ruby asked.
"Oh I just arrived in Vale by sea and ran into you guys. Ignore me." Kitty put up her hands.
"And we're just fresh out baking supplies because someone couldn't stop eating the chocolate chips!" Wiess accused Ruby.
"Wasn't me!" Ruby denied.
RRROOOAAARRR! All nine of their heads turned to the sea line and they made a run to see what was going on.
"SEA FEILONG!" someone yelled as suddenly crowds surged to the docks to see a massive Grimm sea dragon attacking some poor cargo vessel.
Teams RWBY and JNPR drew their weapons. "Alright girls, and Jaune and Ren. How do we defeat this thing?" Ruby asked.
"We could always- Kitty Hawk where are you going?!" Blake yelled after the Kamusu who leapt into the water.
There was a light splash but instead of sinking, Kitty Hawk was….floating on the water and her full riggings deployed. Most notable was the big ass angled flight deck and many SAM launchers and CWIS.
"Hey you big sea wolf!?: Kitty yelled, racking the Sea Feilong with her CIWS as she raced towards the beast. Her 8 Steam boilers and 4 shafts outputting 280,000 SHPs.
That seemed to do the trick as the massive Grimm roared and turn its head towards the tiny Kamusu, ignoring the cargo ship it was after.
"You big fish! Come at me!" Kitty Hawk roared as both her CWIS and RAMs unleashed fire on the beast. Said beast roared and suddenly charged at the small Ship spirit.
"Kitty no!" Ruby shouted. Kitty Hawk ignored her as the Grimm got closer, and closer, and closer until she leapt out of the way and narrowly dodged the dragon.
And her propulsion roared to life as a 80,000 ton warship rammed into the 600 ton Sea Feilong.
And the people of Vale watched as one of the biggest Grimm and on Remnant became roadkill and turned into dust.
Out of its dying carcass burst Kitty Hawk laughing as she looked unscathed. But she was going at all speed.
"HA HA! EAT A D**K YOU DUSTY MONST- WHO SHHIIITTT!" Kitty Hawk yelled as she slammed into a peer at full speed.
And then crashed into a fishing trawler.
And then she set off a boat's fire dust supply and she went flying into a warehorse.
And that warehouse was full of dust.
And it was mostly explosive dust.
KKAABBOOMMM! Everyone screamed as the warehouse exploded.
Present time.
Sydney just burst out laughing as Kitty Hawk could only look embarrassed.
"Trying to be a carrier weapon again, B.K? Anyways, you destroyed 2 million credits worth of Dust. HighCom has dealt with it but since you need to learn your lesson…." Sydney smirked. "Your ice cream ration has been confiscated for next Week."
Kitty Hawk buried her head back into the wreckage, begging for death.
Rule 540,361: Atlas's Ace-ops team and the Emerald Hunter's KANSEN and SOBT force are not allowed to be training in the Emerald Forest at the same time unless given permission by Ozpin.
Part of Ozpin's job was to defuse tension between the kingdoms. That was the job of headmasters due to their independent nature.
So he wasn't surprised when he was alerted that the special operation teams from the Emerald Hunters and Atlas got into a scuffle. So he departed to fix this.
What surprised him was the sheer destruction caused in the Forever Falls forest by the two parties.
And by destruction, it was a couple of square kilometers worth of burned down trees and a bunch of injured Atlassian soldiers, including Ace-ops, staring at one hulking form of USS/UNS Yorktown and Sydney, with a tiny destroyer buried in Sydney's chest.
Both the UN Commander and the massive Kamusu shipgirl had their weapons drawn, Yorktown having her 2589 refit deployed instead of the older WW2 Hull. Sydney had a shoulder mounted coilgun due to hugging the tiny WW2 destroyer.
(Fact: Due to the fact that much of the Solarian Kansen fleet is made up of maritime warships, many have been upgraded so that they can deploy both their maritime riggings and an updated spaceborne one).
"Do I want to know what happened here?" Ozpin growled.
Hhhuuuhhh." Marrow hesitated. "Training accident."
"Training accident." Ozpin stared at the two party.
"Yes, an unfortunate accident that happened during training." Yorktown repeated.
Sydney continued to stare daggers into the Atlassians.
Ozpin sighed. Things got so much more complicated with two militaries.
Deep in the Forever Falls Forest
"Range: 1.4 Klicks. Target is a Goliath. An Alpha class. Wind speed-"
"Sydney, I can do my own calculations myself." Yorktown chuckled at her commander who was laying on the cliff side and looking through some binoculars.
"Is it weird for you to call me commander? Like, your 524 years-"
"Don't ask a woman her age. And yes, its perfectly fine." Yorktown rolled her eyes. Sydney was having the same doubts as Jaune being team- Fleet commander.
Then again, Jaune was commanding three Mistrali warriors, not a team of walking WMDs.
Although Nora could be considered a walking WMD-
"Hey Yorky? The Goliath moving away. You have permission to fire." Sydney said.
"Firing!" Yorktown, one of the first shipgirls to be summoned during the Terran Abyssal War, had received a refit that allowed to transform into an Olympia class light carrier with a high-yield spinal coilgun. Said railgun boomed and Mach 10+, and said Ursa violently disappeared into paste.
"Good hit. One Goliath major down." Sydney reported. "One of its tusks is still intact, surprisingly."
"Can I have it?" Suddenly USS/UNS Hammann popped on Sydney's shoulder.
"Oh hey Hammy. Where did you come from?" Sydney picked up the destroyer who appeared out of nowhere. Then again, Sydney was used to ship-spirit shenanigans.
"Hmm, Wiess kicked me out of her room because I nearly tripped over her case of dust. It wasn't even properly contained." Hammann pouted. "I'm bored."
Yorktown and Sydney looked at eachother, then shrugged. "Sure. Range is safe, stand down."
Yorktown's gauss cannon whirled and then stopped emitting any sound.
"Alright Hammy. We got you covered. Go on ahead." Sydney said, looking through some binoculars.
"Woooahh!" The destroy suddenly disappeared from Sydney's shoulder.
Meanwhile, where the Goliath exploded.
Harriet simply hyperventilated behind her tree as mere twenty metres away, a Goliath exploded.
"Dammit Clover, that was too close!" The speedster yelled.
"What in the brothers?! When the hell did the blues turn the forest into their own personal range!?" Elm, also hiding behind a tree, added.
"Uh, the Emerald Forest is home to hundreds of Grimm. Many Beacon students hunt Grimm here all the time." Marrow pointed out.
"Dammit not the point Marrow!" The rest of the Ace ops team yelled.
"Clover, what the hell are we doing here? Valean" An Atlasian Sergeant asked as the rest of the Atlas troopers poked their heads out of cover.
"We're suppose to be reconning the Emerald Hunters for more information. Especially about those Kamusu or Ship-spirits, along with their commander Sydney Ross. He can apparently fight off a horde of Grimm without aura and that has everyone asking question." Clover sounded irritated. "After they demolished a dozen Leviathans, everyone's asking for questions."
"Then what the fu** are we here for?" a soldier questioned.
"Spying what-"
"HI!" Clover was then interrupted by a childish voice and Elm who screamed. "GAH!"
"Oh, what have I found?" a young cute little girl who appeared out of nowhere.
Instincts took over for Elm as she, having accidentally seen a horror movie where the killer looked similar to the WW2 turned spaceship, punched Hammann in the face and she went flying across the forests.
"...oh dear," Vine whispered as suddenly a child crying could be heard. The entire Atlassian strike team winced.
"...Wasn't that one of the kids Commander Ross was spoiling?" Marrow asked and than everyone paled.
"WHO TOUCHED HAMMANN?!" a rapidly approaching voice could be heard screaming.
Present
"Ugghhh, for the love of the brother gods, just don't train in the same region next time, will you?" Ozpin sighed. He really did not want to do the paperwork.
The Atlassian soldiers rapidly nodded, while their spaceborne counterparts nodding hesitantly and continued staring daggers into the natives.
Rule 540,362 A: UNS Spirit of Fire, stop building bases everywhere! We don't need a horde of mini tanks!
Rule 540,362 B: What's wrong with tanks? (Spirit)
Rule 540,362 C: You just set My Dust collection on fire! (Professor Peach)
UNS Spirit of Fire was always an adventurous ship-boy, and was actually one of the first ship boys to be summoned.
Technically Spirit of Fire was a "heavy cruiser" at around 2.5 kilometres, though her class wasn't even meant to be a warship. The Phoenix class was meant to be a colony ship when she was conceptualized in the 2300s. But the Abyssal War and the need to ship forces from the entirety of the UNS caused her entire class to be refitted into assault carriers.
Spirit of Fire, the ninth ship in the line, spent much of the war shipping army and marine troops across Human space to fight the Abyassals. She survived the war and remained one of the largest vessels built until the Punic class of carriers was constructed over Mars.
Eventually decommissioned and 'scrapped' (though thrown into a star would be more accurate), he came back to serve the United Nations of Sol during the Khanate crusade and stuck around.
Eventually, someone in high command decided an assault carrier would be useful fighting the Grimm and he was transferred to Task Force Emerald Hunters before being put into the Beacon Assault Fleet.
Unfortunately for the ship-spirits, being really good at killing Grimm meant that most Grimm just ran away instead. So while Sydney was trying to negotiate control over a coastal settlement to use as a base, most of the Spirit were lounging around doing nothing.
Naturally, they tried to get creative and for the unfortunate souls of Beacon, they were going to learn that Kamusus getting creative was a terrible prospect.
"Hey, Spirit?" Spirit of Fire looked at Tenyru, the currently bored light cruiser. "You're an assault carrier that can carry thousands of army troopers right?"
"Tenny, you know this already. Why are you asking?" Spirit of Fire raised an eyebrow.
"Well, its just the Grimm always run when they see us or our aircraft. Would they run if they saw your tanks?" Tenyru questioned.
Spirit paused. "You know, that's a good question. We Kamusu never actually tried a planetary invasion with our own fairies. It was always up to the army to do so."
"Well, why not try? This is a school for hunting Grimm right?" Tenyruu suggested.
Spirit pulls out a green block and throws it onto the ground. Suddenly said block begins transforming into a building resembling a UNPF assault base.
"Might as well. Dropping the 45th Marine regiment now." Suddenly out of Spirit's riggings, multiple hangars open up and Mistaya dropships began flying out to said tiny base.
Meanwhile in Beacon Tower, twenty minutes later
"Ozpin you're making this hard on me. You are actively restricting my forces from engaging the Grimm and the White Fang." Sydney growled.
If one were to look at the Beacon professors, Glynda, Ozpin, and Oobleck all had bags under their eyes signifying a lack of sleep. The weight of dealing with the Vale Council, their own students, Ironwood's forces, and now the Emerald Hunter's Kamusu was a major drain on their mental sanity.
"Mister Ross, the deployment of your…Kamusu has, while stabilized trade routes and destroyed Grimm hordes, has caused serious concern for many in Vale."
"Ozpin, you kept us in Beacon for 3 weeks. You saw the Kamusu, restricting them to barracks is going to make this worse. Bored leads to big explosions."
"And I would let you continue operations, but-"
KABOOM!
"What was that?!" Glynda jumped up and looked out the window. Sydney followed to see a sight he never expected.
He saw hundreds of tiny tanks, most not much bigger than a pair of combat boots. Mostly of Shordonna MBTs with their older 105mm railguns. Dozens of Redeye IFVs, not too dissimilar to those of 21st-century Earth, were amidst their ranks.
Wait a second. Shordonna MBTs?
"Oh for fuck sake Spirit." Sydney sighed. "Ozpin this is why we keep our Kamusu occupied. Shit like this happens if they get bored."
"Could you please talk your forces down?" Ozpin pleaded.
"Sure I- Is that a B-34 Marauder Stealth Bomber?"
KABOOM! One of the Shordonna's sent a gauss round into one of Beacon's buildings. Its railgun had locked onto a Grimm, which was unfortunately in Professor Peach's classroom.
Sydney just sighed as the professors looked in horror. "Dammit, who's ice cream and coffee am I taking away now?"
Rule 540,367 A: Ship Spirits and Emerald Hunters are not allowed to adopt Grimm.
Rule 540,367 B: Someone get rid of the Wyvern!
Rule 540,367 C: Also, Emerald Hunters, you are not allowed to stage an invasion of Mount Glenn.
Rule 540,367 D: Even if the White Fang are terrorists Bas****
Rule 540,367 E: What were you even doing in Mount Glenn anyways?
Torchwick wondered when everything went to hell. Everything was so well planned.
The train, the dust, the White Fang. Everything was so well prepared.
And then when the train started moving, it exploded and ignited an entire load of dust. Inadvertently killing a third of their force.
Before they could get anything under control, the Paladin Mechs suddenly went rogue and began shooting everyone.
And then an avalanche happened and crushed everything he worked for.
As such, this was the reason why Roman Torchwick was fleeing Mount Glenn.
"Crap crap crap crap." Torchwick swore as he ran towards the exit of the train station the Fang used as a base.
He didn't get far as a BOOM! Erupted behind him and he was flung out of the exit and out into the street at high velocity.
Right into a lightpost where his legs smashed into the derelict piece of metal that caused a very painful CRUNCH! And shattered his legs.
Torchwick tumbled onto the ground, screaming in agony.
Meanwhile, William D Porter winced as she watched the thief-turned-terrorist writhing on the ground and trying to deal a broken leg.
"Ouch, that's got to hurt." Jaune and team JNPR winced as they and Sydney witnessed the incident from the roof of a three-story building a few blocks away.
"Oh come on, he deserved it. He could use some broken legs." Nora scoffed.
"Well, we know what happens when Jaune aura amps a Kamusus. Strange we're unaffected." Sydney commented as he watched the unfolding spectacle in front of him.
And then the surface above the train station collapses, leaving a massive hole where it was.
Suddenly the ground starts shaking. "Dust Quake?" Pyrrha looked up at Mount Glenn (the mountain).
Suddenly the mountain split open and an ear-piercing roar could be heard from Vale itself as a massive Wyvern popped it's head out, ready to begin butchering all of Humanity.
Only to pause midway and look down at the base of the hole it just created and recoiled in fear as it spotted Tenryu.
With a very sharp sword.
And her cannons primed.
Tenyru only gave a terrifying smile as suddenly she bellowed a war cry and leapt onto the Grimm Dragon look-alike.
45 minutes later.
"Mister Ross, we appreciate the effort to nullify both the Grimm and the White Fang….." Ozpin, the Beacon Academy professors, and General Ironwood looked up at massive atlas cruiser-sized Grimm monster that Tenyru somehow domesticated with Team JNPR, Willy, and Sydney were riding. "...Could you perhaps not bring more live Grimm into Beacon?"
The Wyvern's roar in defence of it's new owners was all the answer they needed.
Rule 540,372: Congratulations, the United Nations Kanmusu Beacon Academy Assault Liaison Fleet has grown to 81 ship-spirits, one insane SOBT, and a chair force Hog Pilot. This is getting a bit out of hand for Sydney to control. That and Glynda's terrified of the property damage (we have ten capital ships wielding nuclear and Gauss weaponry so that makes sense). As such, welcome Admiral Goto, who has come to join his wife in this craziness.
United Nations Maritime Admiral Goto sighed as the Mistaya flew into Vale. It was odd thing that he used to be the commander of all Ship-spirits in Sol. Now he is being transferred to command a squadron in a backwater region.
Not that he hated it, it was nice to see Kongo again. And it should be more relaxing than dealing with several thousand Kamusu and Crusaders.
Maritime Admiral Goto is considered what Spacer Admiral Limburn is the star of the spaceborne navy and Field Marshal Ross of the Army and SOCOM. He was considered a master at waring on, below, and above the seas. He was also one of the remaining Gen 1 Crusader super soldiers from the early 21st century, so he was one of most capable of handling the Kansen without going insane.
Not without his girls and boys trying. A lot of things happened since the Abyssal-Terran War.
At least he didn't have to worry about the end of the galaxy.
"(Comms) This is Stinger 3-2. We're coming in to land. Hope you enjoyed the ride, Admiral."
"No problem Halley. Thank you for bringing me from Sol."
"(Comms) My pleasure sir. Not every day you get to ferry the Gatekeeper of the Pacific."
Goto rolled his eyes. That nickname stuck with him.
"(Comms) Emerald Hunter transport, this Beacon Control. Identify yourself."
"(Comms) This is Mistaya Transport, designation Stinger 3-2. Id Code Romeo Tango Delta Tango. Carrying one VIP for the United Nations Kanmusu Beacon Academy Assault Liaison Fleet. Over."
"(Comms) Understood. Welcome to Beacon Academy. Permission to land at landing pad 07. You have a welcoming party."
"(Comms) Understood. Stinger 3-2 out. Hear that Admiral? You have some friends waiting for you."
"I could only guess who it could possibly be." Goto could only roll his eyes as he stood up and brushed off his naval uniform.
Maritime Fleet Admiral Sato Goto, formerly of the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force and currently of the United Nations Maritime Navy, waited by the Mistaya exit ramp.
"(Comms) Coming in…..hang on…." A flup sound was heard as the Mistaya touched onto the ground. "(Comms) Touch down. Ramps opening. Good luck Admiral."
The familiar whirring sound was heard as in a few seconds, the Mistaya rear ramp doors revealed a small parade of a dozen Kamusu and a single Orbital Drop Trooper waiting for him.
"Admiral on deck!" a very familiar Australian-Taiwanese trooper yelled. The entire formation and ship spirits snapped to attention, in various pre-unification and post-unification military uniforms.
"Admiral Goto! Lieutenant-Commander Ross of the 19th SOBT Assault Regiment and Current commanding officer of the Beacon Academy Assault Liaison Fleet Reporting Sir!" Sydney yelled, saluting the old Admiral.
"At ease commander." Goto order, almost chuckling. The boy had his father's spirit.
"Aye, sir! Parade, Stand at ease!" the ship-spirits in the back loosen their stance. "Stand Easy!" And then dropped it altogether.
"甥, Did you really make your forces, you sister-in-arms, stand with you out in the heat?" Goto said with mock shame.
"Not as all sir! Thisisallacoverforyourwifetotackleyou-"
"What!?"
"TEEEEIIIITOOOOOKUUUU!" a very familiar voice screamed from his right.
"Commander you ba-" Goto didn't get the chance to continue as he was tackled from the side by a very energetic fast battleship.
"BBBBUUURRRNNNNIIINNNGGGLLLOOOVVVVEE!" the Crusader turned admiral and the battleship spirit went sliding across the landing pad, with only the former's biological, genetic, and cybernetic enhancements preventing him from being turned into paste.
"Kongo-bab-Gack! Need to breathe" the Admiral rasped out.
"Ehhaa, sorry Teitoku." Kongo sheepishly hoped off the admiral. "So-MMEEEPP!" Kongo yelped as suddenly Goto leaped up and pulled her into a kiss full of passion.
Sydney and the rest of the Kamusu chuckled. "Never change Got-go."
Eventually, the married pair ended their little make-out session, with the ship spirit coming out a little rougher. "Sorry about that commander."
"No problem sir. I've gotten used to MSSB. Anyways. Parade! Dismiss!"
"Sir!" the remaining ship-spirits yelled and slackened off only for them to converge on the admiral. Goto quickly dismissed his dropship, which said their farewells and rocketed off back into the sky.
"So uncle? What's been going on at Sol since I left for basic?" Sydney asked.
"Oh the usual. More funding tassels with the newly formed Hunters Corps."
"Ouch. SOCOM's budget is gonna get thinner unless we get a raise." Sydney sighed.
"Hiei's cooking finally got put into a category of WMDs." Goto continued.
"Seriously? I thought her curry was amazing!"
"Yamato and Enterprise overthrew the Ztrakphor Star Kingdom after out drinking their queen."
"Dammit, I just did that last year with their king!"
"Yuubari somehow teleported a new black hole into our space."
"We could always use new Matter Decompressors."
"And she somehow managed to revive Godzilla again." the admiral finished.
"Oh, that could have been worse. At least no one's going to destroy Earth's coral reefs." the drop trooper winced.
"And your 'younger' sister is being a morale booster. But enough about me. What's been going on in Beacon?" Goto changed the subject.
"Well, sir. We have a total of 81 ship spirits. All are either former USN, IJN/JMSDF, and a few post-unification spirits. Plus I and my chair force sister. Beacon Academy is….." Sydney paused. "Barely holding up. We really need a new base. We've had to ship in supplies from orbit and it's straining logistics. That and new things to do are really few and between."
"Really? How bad has it gotten?" Goto raised an eyebrow.
"Oh the usual. Mostly MSSSB. The Grimm now runs from us every time we go out into the field. The White Fang in Vale might as well not exist since we took out their last base in Mount Glenn. Crime has gone down since Yorktown accidentally torched three crime dens. Tenyru accidentally killed Port's Deathstalker. DesDiv 6 helped us open our embassy in Menagerie. Also Iowa's Kirked the reminder of the Fang into submission. And we destroyed Mount Glenn thanks to Willy. Oh, and the Atlas air fleet here."
"That explains the air cruisers." Goto mused, looking up at the 5 massive air ships seemingly pointed in their direction. Had the Admiral been on those ships, he would have found a terrified crew and an even more terrified general. Meh, nothing new.
"Well, our forces consist of 81 walking WMDs and one immortal supersoldier." Sydney shrugged. "Still, the fleet is getting…..bored. And I've had to add a few extra rules to the list."
"Of course. Any actions you've taken?"
"I have half the fleet at Mount Glenn now and I've been petitioning the Valean council to turn over Mount Glenn's river docs to us for a new base. The sooner the better but the politicians are dragging their feet." Sydney slumped. "Mount Glenn's a sore subject. 7 of us did what hundreds of hunters were needed and it's a black eye. That and MSSB doesn't-" a very sudden KABOOM could be heard from Professor Port's room.
"God dammit not again." Sydney groaned. And everyone then turned to see a massive Grimm-Cyborg abomination rise out of the ground.
"Potomac!" Sydney screamed as he raced off the landing pad. "I told you not to touch Port's Grimm!"
Goto sighed as Kongo just wrapped herself around his arm. "Just like Yokasuka."
Rule 540,373 A: As my first rule as the Commander of the UNKBAALF, I'm reiterating rule Rule 540,123. If you see Sydney passed out from exhaustion, let him sleep. He pulls off regular all-weekers (Yes, that's what I wrote, all-weekers) and he needs rest. He only needs thirty minutes to be fully rested but he's a hard sleeper don't wake him up unless it's an emergency. (Admiral Goto).
Rule 540,373 B: If you see Yang Xiao-Long asleep on top of Sydney, ignore her as well. You don't want a broken arm. (Also Goto)
Rule 540,373 C: And you sure as hell will leave DesDiv 6 alone if you see them sleeping while hugging Sydney! They like it. And the last time someone woke them up, we had to treat 12 broken bones and a bruised groin.
Rule 540,373 D: The Paperwork! (LT-Commander Sydney)
Rule 540,373 E: SLEEP! We have dumb AIs for that job! (Goto)
Rule 540,373 F: Let me Reiterate this part: Anyone who dares wake Sydney or Desdiv 6 up (outside of myself or Tenryuu) and it's not for an emergency can and will be shot, tazed, punched in the groin, or beaten up. (Goto Again).
Ozpin's office.
"Hmm, yes I can surely relinquish control of the Mount Glenn Settlement to the Kingdom of Vale in exchange for Mount Glenn's River Ports and seaway access." Goto replied as he finished up negotiations with the Valean Council.
For all of his military, combat, and leadership expertise, Sydney was still rather new to politics. As such, he was struggling in convincing the Valean Council (and technically all the Councils of the Kingdoms since Mount Glenn gave the UNS a good spot to interdict shipping).
But Goto, being a former Crusader super soldier with centuries under his belt, quickly cut through said negotiations.
"Of course, that is acceptable to this Council." a Valean Councilor said with the other members letting out a sigh of relief.
"Excellent, I shall-"
BAM BAM BAM! Someone began rapidly knocking on Ozpin's office. "ADMIRAL! Sydney's passed out and not waking up!" a new voice called out.
Ozpin quietly opened the elevator door and HMCS DDG 281 Huron burst into the office.
Goto held up his hand before the Canadian Shipgirl could utter out a word. "Is he breathing?"
The Canadian shipgirl simply nodded. "Has he fallen asleep under a tree?"
"Yes!" the 20th century destroyer squeaked.
"Ah, then Sydney's fine. He's just sleeping off another all-weeker." Goto sighed. Maybe giving Sydney command of the UNKBAALF for a couple of months wasn't a good idea for someone with both a workaholic and caring for his subordinates. It was definitely taxing.
"All-weeker?" Glynda raised an eyebrow.
"You know the Ross and Limburn family long enough to know that they work a lot to the point of exhaustion. We don't have a dedicated administration staff for most of the paperwork until we get the Mount Glenn base running again. So Lieutenant Commander Ross is handling most of the work." Goto pinched his nose. "RCN and RN ships coming in probably limit the amount of sleep he's getting. Let's finish this up, I have an XO to wake up."
10 minutes later, Admiral Goto was being pulled by Huron as she dragged the Japanese turned UN Admiral along.
Only to find a large gathering of people cooing someone around a massive Cherry tree.
As it turned out, it was a mixture of Kamusu and Hunters in training.
"Aaaawwww, that's so sweet." Nora practically hushed.
Goto and Huron peeked over the crowd to see Sydney Ross, in a navy blue T-shirt and sweatpants, sleeping against the massive cherry tree, softly snoring away.
And leaning against his right shoulder was Yang Xiao-Long, who had passed out and had a blissful look on her face as she snoozed away.
And sleeping on their laps or sides was DesDiv 6. Despite being from a time before Sydney was even conceived, the destroyers were still cute as young children and often acted like them.
Desdiv 6 slept clustered upon the Drop Trooper and the Hunter in training, Goto saw Hibiki sleepily nuzzling Ikazuchi's hair who herself was latched on Yang's stomach. Meanwhile, Akatsuki and Inazuma had fallen asleep on Sydney's lap and were sleeping fast first into his chest.
And all the while, the pair of two humans had a protective arm around them.
"Desdiv 6?" Goto raised an eyebrow.
"Teitoku!" Kongo exclaimed. "Desdiv just came back from a patrol and they were tired!" Practically everyone jumped at the Japanese Battleship's volume.
Sydney, Yang, and the destroyers didn't seem to mind. They just snoozed on.
"Right, and the blondie?" Goto asked.
"We just finished an exam and then she disappeared," Blake explained with a hint of tiredness in her voice. "We've been trying to look for her all day."
"Right. And it seems like they found the best spot to sleep." Goto eyed the sleeping ship spirts, drop trooper, and huntress in training. "Just to be clear, no one wakes them up unless its an emergency. Clear?"
The huntress and huntsmen in training simply nod.
They were too afraid to wake up the sleeping Kawaii-boats.
Three hours later.
"Uggghhh" Sydney groaned as he forced his eyes awake. Handling the computer work for the new Canadian and French ship spirts probably wasn't a good idea. "Hm?"
"Hhhhheeellllppppp mmmmmeeee" a whisper from a familiar blondie came from his side. Sydney looked over to see his new girlfriend hand against his shoulder, with panic on her eyes.
Sydney's eyes went downward and he could spot both Hibiki and Ikazuchi fast asleep on Yang's lap. And then his ears heard the soft breathing of two more familiar destroyers.
"You want out?" Sydney whispered and Yang nodded. "Too bad. Its Desdiv 6. You aren't moving until they wake."
Yang tried to shift slightly, only for Ikazuchi to tighten her hold around Yang's stomach, whimpering quietly.
"Welcome to my life Yang." Yang could only sigh as the destroyers dozed off in their laps.
Honestly, it was quite cute.
And they stayed that way until curfew came.
United Nations Database…..The List.
Though it is officially known as the "International Guide and Law Book on governing United Nation Spirit Spirits and Special Forces operators", the List refers to the massive page guide that either restricts, bans, protects, and or guarantees various actions committed by either the Crusader Super Soldier Force or the Kamusu Corps.
The list has its origins up to the 21st Century Third World War (where UN lead forces clashed with the rogue paramilitary alliance that secretly seized control of dozens of nations) when the UN affiliated Crusader Supersoldiers operated alongside conventional militaries. During this period, various reports of bizarre actions (such as somehow hijacking a RDA supercarrier, cleaving a hole straight through Cypress mountain with a hyper-powered railgun, accidentally poisoning an entire marine battalion by accident, etc) that caught the attention of Allied High Command. However due to the very limited number of Crusaders at the time, limited attention was given for such events and Crusaders managed to get away with their actions, albeit curtailed.
However, this changed during the Terran Abyssal War. It appeared that both Crusader Supersoldiers and the newly summoned Kamusu ship spirits (both numbered in the thousands at the time of the end of the war) were the root of many incidents that resulted in a number of minor issues. This included cases of damaging relations with other service branches to events, terrifying science experiments, and cases of self-harm (see WW2-related Kamusu issues). Even up to first contact with the Vissari, these cases seemed to escalate in quantity and very few of them could be explained. If something extremely strange happens, it's often chalked up to Magical Ship-spirit/Supersoldier Sparkly Magic or MSSSB (note, we don't actually know if there's magic involved. Dear gods help us if it is).
In an attempt to curtail the madness (and with other nations creating their own Kamusu and Supersoldier programs), an international treaty was ratified by the various nations of first the UNS and later the galaxy as a whole (and one of the few edicts to pass the galactic Community during the age of conflict) to limit the effects of MSSSB. It is an expanding list of actions that have been banned or restricted. The list itself is derived from the United Nations Guidelines for Proper Kamusu Behavior (enacted during Terran-Abyssal War) and has been expanded by the thousands every passing decade (or rules amended to fight its galactic nature). Examples of rules included in the list entail: Hiei's cooking is to never be used in armed conflict, science girls are not to dabble in the realm of multi-universal travel, don't be racist to each other, not allowed to deploy riggings on small space stations, and etc.
Please note that the List is in effect for not only the Kamusu and Crusader forces of the Galaxy, but all special forces units including psionics, hunters, and more. Failure to abide by the list can result in severe punishments such as losing their coffee and ice cream rations.
To all special forces, abide by the list, please. All the admirals are supersoldiers capable of kicking your asses.
