Billy opened his eyes, whatever fatigue left him when he felt pure power radiating from next door. Tossing away his blanket, Billy wasted no time to climb out the window.

Chaos and life were calling out to Billy and there was something deep within his heart yelling for him to answer.

Scooting over to Yuma's apartment using the fire escape, Billy wrenched the window open as quickly as he could and didn't bother to close it when he entered the apartment. In the darkness of 3:50 PM, he stalked through Yuma's apartment and jumped the teenager.

Yuma screeched, hands slamming down on the table.

"Billy." He wheezed. "You gave me a heart attack, also why are you here?"

Billy didn't answer him, his eyes instead trailed to the card laid on the table.

"Oh, you want to see your new card?" Yuma noted his fascination.

With Arcane Hero - Paymon in his hand, Billy could hear it louder than ever.

"Hi, hi, hi!" Paymon's voice echoed around him. But no matter how hard he looked, he could not see the Duel Monster anywhere.

"Give it sometime," Yuma told him, although he sounded unsure. "I mean Paymon is a new spirit and you're half asleep so maybe try again tomorrow."

"Okay." Billy yawned but didn't let go of Paymon's card. He tucked Yuma's arm. "You sleep too."

"Nah, I need to watch the printer." Yuma protested but didn't move away from Billy's hand.

"No, sleep. You got work tomorrow." Billy mumbled, slowly dragged Yuma with him toward the sofa with more strength than the nine years old should reasonably have.

"Billy…" Yuma tried to resist but his effort was in vain for Gagaga Magician made himself known and helped the kid to get him to the sofa.

With Billy's deck done and Yuma taking an appropriate amount of rest, it was with gnawing anticipation Yuma pointed his finger at the nine years old.

"I challenge you to a duel!"

"With a Duel Disk?" Billy asked. Eyeing Yuma's D-pad and his Duel Disk extendtion he had used for half a year.

Did he have any energy drinks in the fridge?

The answer was yes and like a pro he chucked it while fixing the arm strap so Billy could comfortably use his duel disk.

"Ready?" Yuma asked, a cone shaped duel disk emerged on his skin.

Billy nodded on the other side of the apartment's roof and together they chanted. "Let's Duel!"

"Hope you're not holding back on me." Billy commented as he drew his hand.

"Nope." Yuma said with a pop at the P. "Figured since it's your first time using the deck, it's only fair you take the first turn."

"Alright then, I start with, hm…" Billy looked through his five cards. "Ah, this will do. I activated the spell card 'Greed of the Arcane HERO'. This spell allowed me to add an 'Arcane HERO' monster and an 'Arcane HERO' spell/trap from my deck to my hand."

The Duel Disk shuffled his new deck, pushing out the two cards he chose to the top of his deck. "I'll activate the 'Arcane HERO-Beball' in my hand. By revealing it, I can add an 'Arcane HERO-Abalim' from my deck which with Abalim's own effect lets me summon him out to the field."

"I still have my normal summon so I choose 'Arcane HERO-Beball'."

Two teenager, dress in intricate clothing. Each with a matching star shape masks covering half of their face. "Finally, I activate the ritual spell 'Arcane Rite-Striking Accord', tributing my level 4 Beball and level 3 Abalim inorder to ritual summ-"

"Wait, wait, wait," Yuma cut him off. "You have to chant, do a chant!"

"A chant?" Billy asked slowly.

"The theatric is like 50 percent of the fun!"

Billy shrugged and scrambled to improvised something. "Keeper of secret things, I invoke your name! 'Arcane HERO-Paymon', rise and join my fight!"

Paymon did a little fist pump when he exited the summoning circle. His long black hair flutered in tandem with the veil covering his face. "When Paymon is ritual summoned, he gains 500 ATK points for every spell in my graveyard. Since I have 2, that's 1000 points."

"Now, I en- uh wait. I almost forgot Beball's second effect. When it's send to the Grave a ritual tribute, it sends back my 'Arcane Rite-Striking Accord' into my hand!" Taking one last look at his hand, he picked out two card. "I set two cards and end my turn."

Yuma gave him a thumbs up. "Pretty good setup for your first turn, now it's MY first turn. I start with good ol' 'Gagaga Magician'. Next 'Gagaga Wind' will blow out 'Gagaga Girl' to the field from my hand."

"Not so fast, I activate the trap 'Black Horn of Heaven' not only does 'Gagaga Girl' special summon. It also destroys her."

"That's a good move. Too bad, I've got a back up plan. Since there's a 'Gagaga monster' on the field 'Zubababancho Gagagacoat' can be special summon out to the field."

"You know what comes next. I overlay level 4 'Gagaga Magician' and level 4 'Zubababancho Gagagacoat' to call out 'Zubaba General'!"

"Once per turn by detaching one Xyz material, I can equip a warrior monster from my hand to 'Zubaba General' to boost his attack. So why don't you lend him a hand 'Zubaba Buster'!"

"I set a card. Now 'Zubaba General' attacks 'Arcane HERO-Paymon'!"

"I activate my other face down! 'HERO mirror labyrinth'! When an Arcane HERO is targeted by an attack, this card not only allows 'Arcane HERO-Paymon' to stay on my field but turns all battle damage that I took to 0."

'Arcane Hero-Paymon' raised his hand to block the sword strike of 'Zubaba General', mirror fragmented clustered around his flowing sleeves. In the end 'Zubaba General' was pushed back.

Yuma laughed but was not too detered.

"It's my turn again!" Billy drew, nowhere near as dramatic as Yuma. He took a few minutes to consider his option. He set a card before activating another spell. " 'Keys of the Arcane HERO' grants my 'Arcane HERO-Paymon' 500 ATK for each Arcane HERO in my graveyard!"

Without hesitation Billy ordered his HERO to attack. 'Paymon' following his order, gathered arcane energy into a ball and sent a blast at the knight on the other side of the field.

"Trap activate 'Pinpoint Guard', calling back 'Gagaga Magician' in defense position." His magician was back on the field but the trap did little to protect 'Zubaba General'. Still Yuma dust off the damage no problem
