Chapter 1: The Temple of Bastet

Harry awoke in a dark room, foreign and unfamiliar. He stood up, taking in his surroundings.

He was in a large chamber, with towering stone walls covered in intricate hieroglyphs. Harry felt a flicker of recognition, as he realised that the writing was similar to ancient Egyptian texts.

He approached the wall, casting a spell he had been taught by a friend, to translate the any text.

The words appeared in his mind, written in a language he could understand. The writing described the temple he was in as dedicated to a being known as Bastet, a powerful being worshipped as a goddess.

Harry was in shock, he had no memory of how he had gotten here, or even where "here" was. As he tried to piece together what in the bloody hell was going on, a wounded man burst into the room, gasping for air.

Harry rushed to help him, but it was too late. The man died in his arms, but not before a strange, serpentine creature leaped from his mouth and attempted to possess Harry.

Harry was not an ordinary wizard, and he was more than capable of defending himself from the alien creature.

He used his powerful magic and his mastery of Occlumency to strip the creature of its mind and absorb its knowledge and abilities into his own body.

As he absorbed the knowledge of the symbiote, he learned that it was a member of a race called the Goa'uld, this specific symbiote was from a group who identified as Tok'ra, who lived as symbiote or parasites within hosts.

He also discovered that he had a small amount of a mineral called Naquadah now in his bloodstream, which was amplifying his magic to levels he had never experienced before.

Suddenly, the chamber shook as a group of armed Jaffa stormed in, seeking out the Tok'ra. Harry had no choice but to defend himself when the fired upon him, and with his newly amplified magic, he accidentally overpowered his blasting curse killing all the Jaffa in his way turning them into bloody smears.

Several minutes of standing in shock, Harry realises he had to escape and make his way to the exit.
