Link to FictionPress Story: s/3366333/1/Blue-Eagle-Florida-Boy-The-Adventures-of-Calvin-Gibbs on the full origins of my characters. But I will provide their profiles on the main ones involved. But here's a quick summary of them, more will be added as the story progresses.
I've made this story since last December, and just like the original show and the creator, I was inspired to create another story based on where I grew up with some differences contrary to that show. My characters Calvin and Gibbs represent my split personalities as Calvin is the athletic cool city kid while Gibbs is just the insane Florida outdoor farm kid.
I'm currently college-bound to major in Pre-Medicine, but however, I decided to take art/animation classes as electives since I would really like to draw my characters once I acquire the skills to do so. As I want to get any opportunity out there as possible or even become an animator/artisr as a backup career but only time will tell.
Time Vortex.
While flying in the vortex, the boys discussed their research and what they'll do during their small stay in the past while also reviewing their plan on how to get the attention of the individuals they want to bring in.
"Wait wait wait, so Talon has been spotted in that other city?" asked Gibbs.
"I heard about it but I doubt it since it's not possible," said Calvin.
"Hmmm, maybe so since I don't much about that other place, other than the land of bones after reading some books about it," said Gibbs.
"Me either, I haven't been to Mexico for a long time, never been to the part we're going to," said Calvin.
"Always found their culture really weird, they're really into the dead dark stuff just weird!" said Gibbs.
"Says the one who wants to join a cult full of freaks which I deal with every day," said Calvin.
"Hey, it's part of the culture! Florida man is the best superhero in the world! Despite him doing stupid bad stuff and rarely some good lol." said Gibbs.
"See? culture huh? And Florida man is known as the worst superhero in the world!" said Calvin chuckling.
"Whatever, say how long we stay in over there?" asked Gibbs.
"3 weeks at most," said Calvin.
"Sweet a vacay! So, all we do is bash those bird ladies and get the tiger's attention to verify it him?" asked Gibbs.
"Yep, plus we should beat every bad guy down there," said Calvin.
"Umm, why? That seems kinda pointless if you ask me if we're only getting two people and wouldn't that get him angrier at us along with his folks? asked Gibbs.
"Yep, that'll make him more interested in us and likely to work with us, his folks probably won't be interested in us since we're just kids," said Calvin.
"Hmm, maybe we should keep a low profile then just in case," said Gibbs.
"Smart idea, just be yourself since we're only here for a short time, no one will remember us by the time we leave. And please stick accordingly to plan, don't go off the board since we're going to the past," said Calvin.
"Right! Just go by our superhero names. Blue Eagle and Florida Boy! I'll wear my racing goggles with the rainbow tint and gator hat, and you wear this!" said Gibbs giving Calvin a pair of special sunglasses.
"Good idea and Uh Thanks? but you know we're probably fighting them at nighttime," said Calvin.
"Yeah, but those sunglasses you can see at night just press the button on the side," said Gibbs pressing a button revealing a night vision mode.
"Cool, you rock man!" said Calvin.
"Hey, A Florida man must always prepare for the inevitable!" said Gibb making Calvin laugh as minutes later they reached their destination and prepared for their plan.
Before Arrival; Old Miracle City Outskirts, 10:15 pm, the late 2000s
On a cool night near a giant volcano, a raven-themed villainess and a skeleton boy wearing black cowboy-like attire were hanging out at the outskirts of the city. Talking as he played his guitar with her smiling as he was enticing her. As they were complementing each other. The two were in an almost fluttering like relationship as a bond grew close.
But minutes later the alarm of the villainess' watch went off showing a hologram of her grandmother. "HEY! WE NEED YOUR HELP WE'RE BEING ATTACKED BY TWO BOYS!" called her grandmother pleading for her to come to rescue them.
"I'll be there as soon as possible! I'm very sorry, but I must leave now!" The villainess said as she left the young skeleton boy blasting away with him looking confused.
"What?" he said as he decided to return to the land of the dead with the rest of his family looking happy yet sad from his short time with the girl.
"Better not be El Tigre." said the young villainess in her mind, but she wasn't prepared for what was about to come. A duo of next-gen heroes from the future who were on their way to becoming the heroic underdogs of a crime-plagued city on their short stay.
Arrival, Near a building with a giant bird on top, 10:02 PM
Calvin and Gibbs arrived in an alley and jogged to the front of the building with a giant bird on top as they knew who lived there.
"Whoa look a giant bird!" said Gibbs pointing at the building.
"And I thought I was the detective." jokingly said Calvin.
"I feel so homesick, this is not my culture, I grew up among Cubans and todo aqui is so weird!" said Gibbs sickly seeing the architecture and culture of the city.
"You'll be fine, here," said Calvin giving him an orange juice carton which Gibbs drank and felt better.
"Thank you! I love some of Florida's Choice OJ! Yo, this is the place! Ready to hit 3 birds with one stone?!" said Gibbs chugging on the juice carton.
"Lol yeah, remember the plan, just go Florida crazy to get their attention, but be careful once you engage in combat because they could overpower you, you're only a Gamma class hero which is mainly a sidekick level," said Calvin.
"I'll be fine, I'm built Florida tough, these chicks aren't ready for a Florida Man!" said Gibbs flexing his slim muscles, making Calvin laugh.
"Beat some of them and you'll make your way to Gamma +." Said, Calvin.
"Oh yeah, got to get that experience!' said Gibbs.
The boys were getting ready to start their plan to get the attention of the villainesses, so, they decided to have one last conversation before doing so.
"Wow man, can't believe we got this far. A kid from a small farm town and a kid from the big city." said Gibbs as he looked at the black building.
"I know, this is huge for me. Coming from a rough past I hope I'm doing the right thing," said Calvin.
"I know me too. You are since you have the fire to do the impossible, and that's what heroes do my man," said Gibbs making Calvin smile with hope.
"Alrighty you ready on your part?" said Calvin.
"Oh yeah, I feel more alive than a hurricane at a beach resort!" said Gibbs.
Gibbs yelled a bunch of random phrases and even shot rocks with a slingshot at the building. Calvin was ready to face whatever would come at him, since he has the most power in the city as every other vigilante/being is technically inferior to him.
"HEY, BIRDBRAINS! GET Y'ALL CHICKEN SMELLING LOOKING BEHINDS HERE AND FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN OR WHATEVER YOU ARE!" yelled Gibbs through the microphone.
It was 10:08 PM when the boys successfully got the two older villains out and they were darting towards them in anger.
"Haha! Like running for seeds!" said Gibbs watching the two villainesses flying fast at them.
"Get ready," said Calvin.
"Ready to go hunting for gamebirds as I did with my pops in Clueston!" said Gibbs reflecting on a past trip with his dad when they went hunting in the Eternalglades for Turkeys during thanksgiving.
"Let's show these punk kids to not mess with us! They don't know who they're dealing with!" said a lady dressed in a green/black bird themed costume along with an orange/black-themed older lady following.
"Get the orange one and I'll get the green one," said Calvin as the two boys charged at the villains. Gibbs waved his hands at the orange and black-themed villainess to signal a challenge to fight the villainess.
"K then, I get the abuela and you get the tall weird lady!" said Gibbs.
"Be careful!" said Calvin as he got on his staff and flew straight at her.
"Hey, Tita! Come over here and bake me some flan and galletas like my tita (tita is grandma in Cuban Spanish) does!" said Gibbs as he angered the orange/black themed named Lady Gobbler with his Cuban slang. He ran as the villain was chasing him through the air, as he was running on land and throwing his homemade Floridarangs at her.
"You disrespectful boy, you don't know who you're messing with!" said Lady Gobbler charging at him while dodging his weapons.
"Te tengo vieja loca!" said Gibbs as he threw the trap at her and trapped her near the side of the building near the ground.
"OW! What is this?!" said the old villainess as the trap wrapped around her and neutralized her weapons.
"Sorry tita, I'm too fast for you!" said Gibbs.
"Who are you!?' said Lady Gobbler.
"I'm Florida Boy, the toughest young hero you'll ever meet!" said Gibbs with a smile.
"Florida boy?! You're from America!?" asked Lady Gobbler.
"Yeah, but from the crazy but best part!" said Gibbs as he watch the villainess trapped.
On the other side, Calvin was fighting the green/black-themed villainess named Voltura in the air. Flying around while standing on his staff like a surfboard hovering through the air. She tried blasting at him but he dodged her weapons effortlessly as he barely used his powers against her waiting for the opportune moment to trap her.
"C'mon lady, you're boring me with your pathetic weapons and basic fighting skills." yawned Calvin as he was tiring out the villainess teleporting constantly avoiding every attack.
"Shut up! How are you only a child with this much power!?" said an angry tired Voltura pointing her claw at him.
"Well, you're old and I'm young! Explains your speed," said Calvin jokingly as he angered her more.
"Stupid boy! I'm not old!" said the villainess.
"Then what's taking you so long to hit me? My grandma hits me faster than you!" said Calvin.
"That's it!" said the villainess darting at him and shooting her blasters at him but he threw the trap at her and she stuck by Lady Gobbler.
"Ah! I can't use my weapons or get out!." said Voltura trying to get out.
"Too easy," said Calvin descended down.
"Who are you?" asked Voltura.
"My name is Blue Eagle and I'm a hero from Florida!" said Calvin.
"Another American, but he looks like he's of our kind!" said Lady Gobbler observing him.
"I am your kind. I'm 1/5th Mexican, the rest is Salvadoran, Samoan, Dominican, and born as an American," said Calvin to the trapped villain.
"Ah how nice but let us go!" said Lady Gobbler in anger.
"Can't do that just yet," said Calvin.
"What are you trying to do?! Pathetic you are to trap us, you bastard! Shame on you American trash!" said Voltura in disgust, Calvin felt a rush of rage in his body when she called him that.
"Oh no she didn't!" said Gibbs knowing that the villainess has angered Calvin unaware of his past.
"Bastard!? I have an adoptive father who loves and cares for me as I do for them! My real dad and stepmom were killed by a gang member; I watched them die in front of my eyes! Say something slick again and I'll turn you into fried chicken!." said Calvin angrily in front of Voltura and Lady Gobbler glaring at them as they saw fire in his eyes and a blue aura around him seeing the immense power he beholds.
"He's not like El Tigre, he's more serious and more powerful!" said Lady Gobbler scared of Calvin's anger.
"Don't call me that ever again, criminal trash like you don't deserve to live but I live up to my morals," said Calvin as he walked away from them, instilling fear in them as they just learn of his origin.
"Mija, from what he said he's not your typical hero, but one made from tragedy. He lost his folks which made him into what he is today." Said Lady Gobbler.
"I know, should've never said that I feel even worse now that I made him angrier," said Voltura.
"We hit two birds with one stone, just missing one!" said Gibbs.
"HEY, LET US GO!" screamed the villains trapped near the wall of their building even though.
"After what you said you deserve to be trapped, good luck on that!" said Gibbs.
"Hey Gibbs, watch them while I do my part," said Calvin.
"Right, I'll take care of the two parakeets in the cage," said Gibbs laughing as the villainesses were offended by his joke.
Gibbs watched videos of peacock bass fishing and Florida Man news on his tablet while sitting near the villains as they were forced to watch with him since the sticky substance was barely letting them move.
"Florida man dances on top of a cop car to save people from vampire menace!" said Gibbs showing them his tablet as the villains were annoyed by his childish behavior.
"No wonder Americans are idiots; they watch and do stupidity!" said one of the trapped villainesses watching the video of a man dancing on top of a sheriff's car.
"Says the ones who got beat by them," said Gibbs.
"Shut up!" said one of the trapped villainesses.
"Listen, ladies, I notice you two staring at me a lot. I know I'm a handsome guy I'm flattered really but I have a girlfriend and she's Mexican like y'all. I'm just as Spanish as you two cuz I'm Cuban-Korean." said Gibbs showing a picture of him and Patricia at a day of the dead celebration in West Cove Beach, a city in Florida known for its strong Mexican culture and growing population of them.
"Someone foolish and ugly as you have a pretty girlfriend like that? You don't deserve her," said Voltura.
"Agreed, you don't look like her type!" said Lady Gobbler.
"Hey, who doesn't love a Florida Man?" said Gibbs.
"Pendejo, your no man your just a dumb boy!" said Lady Gobbler.
"And I thought my grandma from Georgia is mean!" said Gibbs.
When the clock hit 10:27 PM, the youngest villainess was flying fast, and anger was in her eyes as she saw her family was trapped by two boys who didn't look all-powerful at all.
"Florida Man throws gator across a Drive Thru, ROFL!" yelled Gibbs but soon ran off to Calvin as she blasted him away from the captives. The young villainess ran to see her folks who were trapped by plasma netting near the wall of the building.
"There goes my cue," said Gibbs, going into hiding.
"Mom! Grandmami! Are you okay?!" said the young villainess as she had a worried and angry face as she wanted to get back at the boys who trapped them.
"We're fine, deal with those unruly boys!" said Grandmami. Unknown to the young villainess, this was a setup that the boys planned out to get her attention and another vigilante.
"Be careful! They're stronger than they look, especially the boy with the staff!" said one of the trapped villainesses. The young villainess looked for one of the boys and heard faint footsteps approaching, startling her.
"Hello there" walked Calvin with his hybrid staff as the young villain dressed in black/purple with a raven theme looked straight at him claws drawn.
"You are so dead trapping my family along with him!" said she in extreme anger as she opened her mechanical wings and blasters toward him.
"Let's dance then pretty bird!" said Calvin giving a hand signal to fight.
"Bird fight!" said Gibbs as he got back from his hiding spot and stuck to the plan and letting them fight as he checked on the other trapped villains.
"Let's see if the small bird can beat the big bird!" said Gibbs
The young villainess known as Black Cuervo engaged in combat solely with Calvin, but despite her armadillo roll move, constant blasting, and everything other technique she could think of, she was immediately overtaken by Calvin's powers and skilled martial arts as he avoided every move and blast. Minutes passed and the young villainess was getting exhausted from battling the young hero, as she barely could land a hit on him with all the effort she tried desperately.
"This guy is too quick and agile!" angrily said the tired villainess in her mind as she was sweating, and mascara was streaming down from her face from her visor sensing that defeat was soon coming to her.
"You know, the bald eagle is faster and stronger than the raven!" said Calvin smirking as he dodged quickly and managed to dropkick her. The young villainess fell to the ground and barely stood up with him descending down from the air in front of her.
"Shut up!" said the young villainess trying to punch him in the face as one last resort, but Calvin dodged the attack and hit her in the chest with his staff in hand and destroyed her wings and weaponry once he got a hold of her.
"Nice try kid, but I'm way outta your league," said Calvin tying her up near a light pole.
"Who... Who are you?" said the young villain, tired and scared.
"I'm the Blue Eagle, and I'm the protector of my city in Florida, just here on vacation," said Calvin.
"You're American..." said the young villainess tiredly.
"Sure am, stay put while I continue my work, stay with Gibbs as he'll keep you safe," said Calvin.
The young villainess hissed at him and was furious she lost to two boys who looked normal let alone joining her family in defeat.
"Awww, calm down, this will cheer you up!" said Gibbs as he resumed watching his Florida Man videos, this time sitting by Black Cuervo annoying the young trapped villain as she was tied upside down and being forced to watch for his amusement.
"Florida Man invades house and shaves cat's head and leaves without stealing anything! HAHAHA! XD" Gibbs was laughing while the tied-up villainess was fed up with his child-like antics.
"I will tear you to shreds along with that other jerk!" she responded.
"Aww what's wrong babe, no one's going to save you now, no knight in shining armor to save you now!" said Gibbs laughing maniacally.
"Don't call me that!" angrily said the young villainess.
But minutes later soon a roar was heard along with a green light burst to come in fast and out came another young boy who was themed in a tiger outfit, with green emerald eyes, white tuffs on each side, pointy ears, a tail, and a signature T on his mask and belt.
"Well, guess I was wrong!" said Gibbs as he pulled out his smartphone to record the fight backing off from the light pole. Calvin showed up as he was lurking behind the building waiting for the young vigilante. The young villainess was relieved seeing him but sore from her previous encounter with him.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't a knight in shining armor coming to save his damsel in distress?" said Calvin.
"Hey, back off, and who are you!?" asked the vigilante.
"I'm the Blue Eagle and that kid over there my sidekick Florida boy!" Calvin responded pointing at Gibbs filming near a tree who waved his hand at them.
"Your Americans?! Ha, what stupid names you two have!" said the tiger-themed vigilante laughing at their names but was soon back to seriousness seeing Calvin wasn't playing around.
"Looks who talking, I could beat anyone here since I'm an Alpha class hero," said Calvin.
"Wow, never heard of that should I be scared of you then?" said the vigilante arms crossed.
"A vigilante/metahuman classification we use in the U.S. created by the government and universities. You're a Beta-class vigilante because you lack skill, intelligence, and integrity, and your no match for me," said Calvin.
"I don't care, I can beat you; you look like a normal kid with a toy stick!" said the vigilante.
"How come I beat your bad guys easily then? Your little girlfriend wasn't that impressive!" jokingly said Calvin as the trapped young villainess overheard and was shocked at what she heard.
"She's not my girlfriend!" said the vigilante angrily with his face turning red.
"Yeah yeah," said Calvin.
"Just let them go, sure they're bad but they didn't do anything to you or anyone!" said the tiger-themed vigilante.
"Well one of them did something to us and I can't do that yet, beat me and I might," said Calvin.
"Your will regret coming to my city." said the vigilante in anger.
"C'mon kitten, we ain't got all night!" said Calvin. The two standoffs like Wild West cowboys as they stare contested as Calvin charged up his staff in a stance and the tiger vigilante drew his claws out preparing to fight.
The tiger vigilante attacked first by blasting fast at him, but Calvin counterattacked by hitting him with his staff to the chest. The tiger-themed boy dug to the ground by the impact and tried to catch him as he ejected his claw at him, but Calvin dodged and grabbed his chain claw and slammed him to the ground. The boy got up and chased him again but once he tried to hit him, he dodged and did a signature Eagle Claw move he learned from his in martial arts, knocking him out and eventually beating him to the ground.
The three villains were amazed by Calvin's powers and skills as they watch the tiger vigilante constantly getting beaten by him. Once the tiger-themed vigilante was tired out, he was on the ground too tired to fight back and Calvin approached him.
"El tigre is beaten!" said Voltura.
"That other boy is much stronger and smarter. Poor Nino must have trained hard from losing his folks. Can't imagine the pain he carried all his life that made him into this." said Lady Gobbler in her mind acknowledging how Calvin was able to overpower the tiger vigilante easily, as it would take immense training and power to do so.
"Oh no, he lost!" said the young villainess in her mind seeing her other rival beaten.
"Well kitten, I'm way beyond your level but I am not a bad guy. I'll let you and your friends live along with the rest, but you'll meet me again soon," said Calvin as he and Gibbs left flying. Stunned by his skills and powers he had so many questions.
"Man, that guy has skills," told himself as he worked on letting go of the villains.
"Listen, boy, we'll let you live since you've helped, but stay away from us! Said the older villains flying back to their lair.
He cut the strong rope on the young villainess stuck on the pole.
"Thanks, but I have to go," said she as she had mixed feelings when he let her go.
With a disappointed face as he was beaten by an opponent so ahead of him and being a similar age, he went home to rest and thought what beholds him for tomorrow.
"Who are these guys and how are they so strong?" told himself.
"Wow quite an easy fight, looks like he couldn't keep up," said Gibbs.
"Yeah, he actually inspired me a bit to be a hero despite his flaws. But him, his rogue gallery, and other vigilantes in this time period are pathetic, probably because we're years ahead of their tech and skills," said Calvin.
"He's the answer along with that girl to solving our mystery in our time. But if the truth comes to be true, don't tell them!" said Gibbs.
"Now come on we need to rest as we have a lot to do tomorrow!" said Calvin. The boys now with their confirmed results rested easy as they know they picked the right people for their plan.
"Bet, what's next after this?" said Gibbs.
"First, we'll stay out at a nearby place, then we'll clean up this city while we're at it," said Calvin.
"But wait this isn't our city, it's cat boy and his folk's problem, not ours!" said Gibbs.
"I hate seeing a big city like ours engulfed by criminals, a small cleanup won't hurt," said Calvin.
"Alright, let's show these freaks what us Florida men are about. MURICAHH!" said Gibbs.
"I was born in California FYI, but that works since I've been a resident for some years," said Calvin.
