tanjiro nod as he went to the woman that is his mother, as she wipe Tanjiro face.

mom: you know, you really don't have to go. All this snow could be dangerous.

Tanjirou: I want us to have a good new year's celebration. Where everyone can eat as much as they want. So I'll sell all the charcoal I can.

mom: thank you.

boy: nii-San, are you going to town today.

girl : I want to go with you!

mom: no you not, you know you can't walk as fast as tanjiro can sweetie.

boy: aw, come on mom!

Tanjiro have a smile on his face as he look at his baby brother on his sister nezuko back, falling asleep.

Tanjiro thought: we don't erectly have an easy life, but we're happy. Life can change, though. As sudden as the weather, it shift and move on. The sun can't shine forever and the snow has to stop at some point. But whatever happens when happiness is destroyed, it's always followed by the same smell of blood.

Tanjiro was walking back to the mountain to get back home, but he was stop by a man.

man: you can stay here for the night. Come on, get inside and don't argue just get inside. Before the demons show up.

tanjiro was at the men house after he ate the food as he slowly puts his chopstick on the plate and slowly his sipping his tea.

Tanjiro: thank for dinner. Hey. Uh, Mr. Saburo, what do you mean by "demon"

Shaburo: there have always been man-eating demons prowling about after dark. That why it's not safe to go outside at night. Time for bed, you can set off home at first light.

on then on Tanjiro went to bed waiting to fall asleep.

Tanjiro: these demons, their not able to come inside your house, are they?

Shaburo: yes they could come in.

Tanjiro: but then, wouldn't they eat everyone?

Shaburo: the demon slayers protect us, by killing as many as they can, they always have. Now go to sleep, lights out.

Tanjiro thought: old man Shaburo, he's been on his own since he lost his family. He must be lonely, I'll bring my brothers and sisters by. You don't have to be scared. There are no demons, there just myth for scaring others at night, you're safe. Although now that I think of it, my grandma used to say the same thing before she passed away.

the next morning

in the next morning tanjiro say goodbye to old man Shaburo as he went to the hill, as he went he pick up a suspicious smell.

tanjiro: a smell of blood " shock.

he ran fast as he can to the house, but it was already to late, when Tanjiro arrive home in a deep breath as he saw Nezuko was laying on the snow cover in a pool of blood while hugging Rokuta. Tanjiro didn't hesitate as he drop his basket and quickly went up to them.

Tanjiro: Nezuko, what happened? What's going on here? What happened to you? "Scared.

when Tanjiro slowly turned towards the inside of the house, his eyes widen in disbelief when he saw all his family was killed

Tanjiro: gasp* mom, Hanako, Takeo, Shigeru, Nezuko and Rokuta.

Down the mountain.

Tanjiro ran as fast as he can while carrying Nezuko.

Tanjiro: Nezuko is the only one who's still warm. If I can get her to a doctor, she might live. How could something like this happened? May be a bear a place to hibernate?

He keep running as his lungs started to hurt.

Tanjiro: I can't breathe! The air is icy! My lungs hurt! Just keep moving, move those legs of yours faster. We've still got a long way to go to town, hurry. I won't let you die, I have to save you. Your onii-chan will save you.

as he was he felt a movement on his back. He slowly turn his head around to see Nezuko raise her back. As she suddenly let out a growl. She thrashes around a bit, making them slip. But Tanjiro landed on his back but the snow cushion his landing. He quickly sit up and looking around his surroundings and notice Nezuko is standing up. Tanjiro saw this as he quickly went over to her.

Tanjiro: Nezuko are you okay. You don't have to walk let me carry you to town, you are too injured right now "Nezuko.

he grab her shoulder as she started looking up. She suddenly grab him with a strong grip and launched toward the snowy ground. But Tanjiro quickly grab his axe from his axe sheat and put the axe handle in Nezuko mouth. But She kept biting the handle and won't budge a inch. He resisting her.

Tanjiro thought: sh-she's... a demon. is this what old man Shaburo tried to warned me about. She's a man-eating demon, impossible they were supposed to be myth a story, so that the kids don't go out at night, but Nezuko is a human since the day she was born. Except she doesn't have Nezuko scent anymore. But she isn't the one who killed them. She was lying on top of Rokuta like she was protecting him and her hands and mouth weren't covered in blood. But their was one more. There was another scent.

as Tanjiro is lost in thought Nezuko Suddenly started growing bigger.

Tanjiro thought: how are you getting bigger. She also getting stronger. While I was sleeping like a baby at Saburo's, you were all being brutally murdered. It must of hurt, you suffered didn't you. I'm sorry I wasn't there to help. I have to at least save nezuko though. But she's too strong for me to do anything thing.

Tanjiro: Nezuko please hang on, don't give in! You gotta hang on. Don't let it take control. You Gotta stay strong. Just hang on! Please "yelled.

at the moment he looking at her with his teary eyes. She look into his eyes and started to calm down. She starts to cry as he felt relieve that she is calm. But Suddenly Tanjiro saw a man with a katana appear behind Nezuko. But he quickly pulled Nezuko down to face the other way. This shock the swordsman as his sword hit the ground making an explosion. This made Tanjiro and Nezuko push back as they hit the tree.

Tanjiro: what the... who that. A sword.

Tanjiro look at the half-half haori man with messy black hair and deep blue eyes with an eyepatch cover his left side. As they stayed quiet for a moment before the the man started to speak.

swordsman: why are you protecting it.

Tanjiro: she's my sister. I was taking her to get help!

swordsman: you call that thing your sister? Emotionally.

the swordsman quickly dash toward them making Tanjiro pull Nezuko down with him to protect her from him. When he is down, he noticed Nezuko is gone. He look up and saw she is capture by the swordsman. As She keep thrashing wildly but failed to escape the man's grip.

Tanjiro: Nezuko!

swordsman: don't move! My job is to slay every demon I find. Which means I have to decapitate your sister here.

Tanjiro: no stop! Nezuko hasn't hurt anyone. Back in my house there was another scent I'd never smelled before that probably the one who kills my family. Nezuko didn't do anything to do with it. I don't know why she's changed into something like this.

swordsman: it's really quite simple. She's turned because her wound were exposed to demon blood. That's how the man-eating monsters multiply.

Tanjiro: Nezuko would never eat anyone " counter him.

swordsman: you must be joking. If I hadn't gotten here when it did. She would have devoured you.

Tanjiro: your wrong! She wouldn't hurt me. Shes know I'm her older brother. And I wont let her hurt anyone. I'll turn her back into a human. I will heal her.

swordsman: she can't be healed. One you become a demon, no one can ever turn back.

Tanjiro: there's a way and I'll find it, no matter it takes. So please let her live. I'll hunt down the one who slaughtered my family. I promise I'll. Make everything right just please don't hurt her. Pleas don't do this!

Tanjiro thought: don't-don't take anyone else away from me.

Tanjiro look at the swordsman who is holding his sister as he bow down to the ground to beg at the swordsman.

Tanjiro: cry* I'm begging you please. Don't killed my little sister. Please don't do it. I'm begging you.

this irritates the swordsman as he grip his teeth in anger.

swordsman: yelled* is this your plan of Saving her don't make me laugh. All you doing is making yourself vulnerable. If it were even a little bit effective. your damn family would've still be alive by now. How can a pathetic weakling like you have hope of finding a way to heal his sister or hunt down a demon? Don't be ridiculous. The weak have no rights. They don't get to make choices! All they can do is be relentlessly crushed by the strong! Now maybe the demon know of a way to cure your sister. Maybe! But don't think for a moment that any of them is going to respond your wishes. Just like I have no respect for you! That's reality and why the hell did you throw yourself over her like that! Was that your way of protecting her? Why didn't you swing your hatchet? And why wouldn't you ever turns your back at me? Those mistakes are what led to her capture.I could have easily just skewered the both of you and been done with it.

this made Tanjiro cry as the swordsman pointed his sword at him.

swordsman: don't cry. Don't succumb to sorrow. this isn't the time to despair. I know you're devastated right now. Your family massacre. Your sister a demon. I know it hurts. I know you want to scream. I understand, if only I'd got her half a day sooner. Maybe your family would still be alive. However, there's no turning back. you can't turn back time. So feel it, feel the burning rage of being unable to forgive. Let it be what give you the strength to take action. With the fragile resolved of yours. You can't protect your sister or heal her. And you'll never get revenge for what happened to your family!

the swordsman pierce his sword on Nezuko in the shoulder making her scream

Tanjiro: don't touch her!

Tanjiro throw a rock at the swordsman as he quickly reflected it with his sword. The swordsman track where Tanjiro is at. as he ran through the trees. Until he charged head first at the swordsman.

swordsman: fool. Is that your plan, pathetic.

The swordsman bring the end of his sword down hard on Tanjiro 'Nocking him unconscious.

swordsman: Huh? What happened to the hatchet?

the swordsman look up as he sense the hatchet came flying through making him shock as the hatchet sinking through the tree next the swordsman head.

swordsman thought : right before he went behind that tree... he threw the rock, and At the same time, he tossed the hatchet. He was only pretending to attack me. So I wouldn't realize he was unarmed. He new he had no way of defeating me. His whole plan was to bring me down after I nock him out. This boy!

as the swordsman was lost in thought Nezuko was able to loosen the grip as the swordsman received a powerful kick. The swordsman couldn't react in time as he is in pain.

Swordsman: damn she'll devour him!

when the swordsman saw Nezuko was standing in front of Tanjiro with her arm cross while growling at the swordsman. The swordsman stop for a moment as he was shock as to what he is seeing. As Nezuko quickly charged toward the swordsman as he quickly dodge every attack that came to him.

swordsman thought: Long ago, someone else said the same thing. Only to end up being devoured. A starving demon will eat anyone. It's own brothers, sisters and parents. They're rich in nutrients. I seen it many time than I can count. But this girl has been badly wounded. I can since that she is using so many chakra. But how could this be! no... " no demon or human was able to manifest chakra. It was forgotten in history a long time ago. And surly most of her strength and chakra was drained during her transformation. So there's no question, she's starving right now. She's must have been craving a feast right from the start! Even her own brother. But she's protected him and turned her attention to me. I wonder if, just maybe. These two, could be the key of unlocking something incredible. Who knows maybe a hidden Jutsu.

for then on the swordsman sheathed his sword as his right eye started turning red with one commas. As he look at Nezuko in the eyes.

Swordsman: Sharingon!

Nezuko look at him in the eyes as she stop her attack and slowly fell unconscious.

in the dark void Tanjiro was laying down unconscious as his sibling is surrounded him.

mom: we have to leave you behind Tanjiro. I'm so sorry. Take care of Nezuko.

Tanjiro woke up as he grab is sister. As she is wearing a bamboo muzzle on her mouth. This made him cry as someone who is in front of him is alive.

swordsman: your awake?

Tanjiro sat up as he grab his sister. Shielding her from the swordsman.

swordsman: go to mount sagiri as soon as possible. Look for a man name Sakonji Urokodaki. When you find him, tell him Giyu Tomioka send you. It's cloudy, so she seems to be all right at the moment. But never let her exposed to sunlight.

Tanjiro: why. Why do this for us as to everything I did to you why protect us.

Giyu: because, you remind me of someone I knew back in my days. We all lost our love ones. We lost the people we couldn't protect. But for you and your sister. I can see the future for you both. Now go, pack your thing you need and set off first thing tomorrow.

on then on Giyu disappeared leaving Tanjiro and Nezuko behind.

home

outside of the house Tanjiro bury his family as he bow down to them. As he finish praying, he grab a Katana from his dad bedroom walls in his left hand and grab Nezuko hands on his right.

Tanjiro: let's go!

Tanjiro hesitated to look back at his buried family as he grip his father Katana and ran while holding Nezuko on his right hand as they finally set off.

Tanjiro: I'll make sure. I'll find the person who is responsible for this. And end this circle of hate... "for good.
