Clara sat on the monastery couch as Nya brought her over a cup of warm tea, she smiled slightly but that was about all she could manage as she looked down at the tea with a forlorn look.
The boys were in the hall, looking in a bit as Kai said "So how come you never told us about your new friend?"
"We only met her for that one time, we did not even know if we would see her again." Zane looked sadly at the still shaken woman.
"I can't believe you brought a werewolf to the monastery, what if she tries to attack us." Jay shook.
"Don't be stupid Jay, she's not a werewolf, those only come out at night." Cole huffs.
"Werewolves are not native to Ninjago and from what I have seen Clara doesn't actually show signs of any lyconathropy." Zane frowns.
"Beside the obvious." Jay points to his head.
"Enough, Sensei will figure out what's going on and then we can see how we can help Clara." Lloyd crosses his arms.
"You think that mask had anything to do with her transformation?" Kai asked.
"I am uncertain but the two now hold similar energy so I believe so." Zane nods.
Nya came out into the hall saying "Poor Clara's all shaken up, she wasn't even spooked when Reflectra tried to rob the museum."
"Actually my scans showed she was quite nervous, but the icecream and company helped to soothe her nerves." Zane replied.
At this moment Wu came down the hall and said "I suggest you all enter the room, I have much to discuss with everything.
Clara was taking sips of tea when they entered and said "Oh hello, did you find anything?' she looked on worried.
"Yes, and you do not have to worry. You are not cursed or in any danger." Wu smiles.
Clara sighed as the others smiled, glad to know she was okay.
"Then why do I have these?" Clara pints to her ears, as Jay smirks at Cole who glares.
"Well the mask you talk about, Zane told me he sensed something off of it that now resides in you. I did some research and found that that stone once belonged to a formling." Wu explained.
"A formling?" Lloyd asked.
"A human with the ability to turn into an animal."
"I've never heard of them." Clara looked curious.
"Nor have I Sensei, where did they come from?" Zane was curious as well.
"They are from a place called the Neverrealm, a cold and cruel land that is hard to survive in. These people are expert survivors. My father brought one of them to Ninjago because they were harmed severely while he was visiting. The formling could not survive in his home so his people asked to be taken to my father's so they could have a full life."
"But then how did I get their powers?" Clara frowns.
"It seems that stone was a gift from their people so they could retain some of their power. It somehow ended up in that mask and the power of it has transferred to you." Wu finished explaining.
"Is there a way to reverse it?" Calra asked.
"I'm afraid not, this is a permanent ability." Wu looks down.
"Does this mean I'm going to look like this forever?" Clara whined, ears back.
Wu shook his head "No, you should be able to transform back and forth at will. Perhaps you just need to calm yourself."
"That's gonna be a problem, especially after all the craziness." Clara frowns.
"Perhaps meditation could work." Zane suggests.
"Not really the meditating type, I just end up thinking a lot." Clara sighs.
Suddenly her stomach growled and they chuckled as Cole said "Well how bout a good meal, that tends to help."
"I could eat." Clara smiles tail wagging.
"We heard." Kai smirks as she growls.
"I shall get dinner prepared." Zane replied before heading to the kitchen.
"And while he does that you and I can get you set up." Nya smiles.
"Wait, you want me to stay here?" Clara looked confused.
"You have special abilities that could help many, and the best place to learn to use them would be here." Wu smiles.
"Yes thank you, I'd love to train here, but first I have to call my family. Get this all straightened out." she sighed.
"You can use my room for privacy." Nya replied as they headed off.
Once gone Kai said "You sure having her around is a good idea Sensei?"
"Nya and Zane have told me of how she stopped that thief at the museum. I believe hse has the means to be a great Ninja." Wu smiles.
"But none of us know anything about wolf powers." Lloyd frowned.
"And in that you will all teach each other." Wu replies.
Suddenly they heard shuffling and looked to see Jay rummaging through some drawers.
"Um Jay….What are you looking for?" Kai asks.
"Anyone know where we have some silver, a necklace, maybe a candle stick?" Jay kept rummaging.
"For the last time Jay. She Is Not A Werewolf!" Cole shouted.
Ninjago
Clara sighed as she fell back on the water ninja's bed and said "That was exhausting."
"I'm sure they're just really worried about you." Nya smirks.
"I know that's why they were all yelling at the same time about me being kidnapped. I'm just glad they no longer have to call the police, though it's pretty stupid to make someone wait 24 hours for a missing person. Anything could happen in less than that time." Clara scuffs.
Nya rolls her eyes "I know what you mean. So your parents are coming later to bring your stuff?" Nya smiles now.
"And to probably threaten the guys about trying anything funny." Clara shakes her head as Nya chuckles.
"Don't worry the guys aren't idiots and will be respectful." Nya smiles.
"Plus they'd probably be too afraid to go near me, especially Jay." Clara frowns.
Nya frowns "Yeah, I love him and all but sometimes he can be a total doofus."
Clara laughed saying "That's kind of mean."
"I guess, but really. We heard Cole's shout all the way over here." Nya smirks.
Clara laughed again, the whole thing actually calming her down so much that her wolf-like features had finally disappeared.
"Hey, you're back to normal." Nya smiles.
Clara gasped as she headed to the mirror and smiled "Yes I'm me again! Oh I'm so happy, not that I didn't think looking like a wolf wasn't cool but that would have gotten too much to get used to if it was permanent." she shivers.
Nya chuckles as she replies "Yeah I couldn't imagine being, I don't know, water all the time."
"Now that would be difficult, you wouldn't be able to hold anything." Clara replies.
With that the girls headed off, deciding it was best to tell the guys about their upcoming guests.
Ninjago
Zane was in the middle of cooking, he decided to make some beef stew so there would be enough for everyone.
'I hope Clara likes what I have chosen, perhaps I should have asked.' he thought.
Suddenly he heard someone walking in and turned to see Pixal and smiled "Good evening Pixal, will you be joining us for dinner."
She shook her head replying "I only came up as I have been hearing constant activity, and not the normal kind that ensues around here."
"Ah yes, perhaps I should explain." Zane then told Pixla about Clara and her powers.
"Ah I see, so we have a new Ninja joining."
"Indeed, we are all quite excited though Jay has gotten it into his head that she is some sort of cryptic monster." Zane rolls his eyes.
"Yeah we heard the shout." They both turned to the kitchen entrance to see both Clara and Nya there, Clara being the one to speak.
Zane shook his head replying "I deeply apologize for that."
"You're not the one that needs to apologize. So it's fine." Clara smiles.
"Exactly, Jay on the other hand." Nya frowns as she storms off.
"Oh, I would not want to be on her bad side." Clara flinches.
"Indeed, Nya can have a temper as volatile as her brother when she wishes." Zane chuckles.
"That's because people tend to associate water as a calming element and usually it is but the ocean can have many moods and very terrifying. Especially in storms." Clara smiles.
"Would that explain why Jay can evoke such reactions from her?" Pixal asks.
Clara laughs as she says "Oh you are funny."
"I am?" Pixla blinked, she had been serious.
"Hey you're the current Samurai X, nice to meet you. I love the work you do." Clara smiles excited.
Pixal smiles replyign "Thank you, I only do what I must to help others."
"Still that's really great, being able to do that and riding around on that mech. Must make it easier to intimidate opponents." Clara chuckles.
"Indeed, sometimes I only need to appear and the enemy will surrender." Pixal smirks.
"Will survival instincts usually outway greed."
"But I would never harm anyone." Pixal frowns.
"I know, but being confronted by something that looks dangerous is enough to kick that instinct off in our heads. Even if we know better." Clara explains.
"Ah, understandable." Pixal nods.
Zane could not help but smile as the two went on talking. Besides himself and Nya, Pixal did not socialize with many others in such a way.
She would interact with the others but she would not truly have conversations. And ever since they had broken up they have had less conversations of their own.
He decided to let them go on with their conversation as he continued to cook. Dinner shouldn't take long now.
Ninjago
After a while after talking with Pixal, Clara remembers she had to tell the others about her parents.
Pixal helped by gathering them with her com and she was able to explain only one time.
"So what are you parents like?" Kai raised a brow.
"Protective, dad likes to joke, and mom likes to be serious." Clara shrugs.
"A bit of an odd couple?" Cole raised a brow.
"Eh, you could say that?" Clara shrugs.
Suddenly Clara's phone rang "That's them."
Clara grabs her phone and answers "Hi mom."
"Clara how do we get up this mountain?" Her mother asks.
"Ugh guys, is there a different way up, no way they can get up all those steps." Clara frowns.
"Yeah I'll explain." Nya comes up and takes the phone.
"Hello Mrs. Caddle, this is Nya the water Ninja. I'm going to explain how to get up."
After some explanation the Caddle's found the way up for vehicles and were soon knocking on the door.
Clara and the others headed out and the first thing that happened when they opened the gates.
"My little girl!" cried as she hugged her.
"Mom I'm okay, I already told you. Can't breathe!" Clara tried to get out of the suffocating hug.
"Don't leave home please!" she cried.
Clara sighed "Mom this is the best place for me to train and I'll be safe…."
"You could always ride back and forth." added.
"Dad, not you too." Clara sighs.
"Don't leave me." Mrs. Caddle continued to cry.
"I'm not leaving you mom, I'm just taking the next step in life. It's not like I'll never see you. I'll visit when I can." Clara tries to comfort her.
"But you can't drive and your fathers busy with his own work." Mrs. Caddle sniffs.
Suddenly Zane came up and said "Excuse me ma'am." Zane had activated his hologram so as not to scare the couple.
"Who are you?" asked.
"This is Zane the ice ninja, he's the one that found me." Clara explained.
"Oh I've heard of you, but aren't you supposed to look like, mettle?" Her dad looked curious.
"Dad!" Clara flushed embarrassed.
"It is okay Clara, yes but I have my hologram activated so I would not startle you too." Zane explains.
"Ah okay." he nods.
"As I was saying I am more than happy to drive Clara over whenever she wishes to visit you two." Zane smiles.
"How do we know we can trust you?" Mrs. Caddle frowned.
"Mom, he's a Ninja and he brought me here to get help. Trust me you can count on him." Clara frowns.
The two took this in, they didn't like the idea of a stranger, no matter how famous, driving their daughter.
But if this was going to be her new life they had to let her make her own decisions, so they nodded.
Her dad then went to the car and brought back a few bags of things "Thanks for bringing my stuff. I'll get the rest of my clothes later in the week." Clara smiles.
"Please don't forget about us." Mrs. Caddle begged.
"I won't forget you guys, now calm down. I'll be seeing you regularly." Clara hugged her, rubbing her back "I'll miss you guys too." she felt a few tears in her eyes.
Zane could sense she felt scared as well and the parents worry and said "We promise you both that we shall make sure Clara is safe. We shall not let any harm befall her." Zane bows.
"Yeah, we look out for each other." Cole nods.
"Trust us Clara will be in safe hands." Nya smiles.
The parents couldn't help but smile at this, their daughter had been very lonely for a few years and were glad she now had some it seemed.
So after a while of talking and promises to visit. They headed off.
Once gone Nya said "Your parents are nice, if a little protective."
"My mom has anxiety, which I inherited." Clara sighs.
"We didn't notice." Kai looked sorry.
"Just something you get used to as you grow and work though. After fighting that Reflectra woman I had to head home when you guys left." Clara sighs.
"We apologize for not noticing." Zane frowns.
"It's okay, you didn't know. Anyway I need to get this all in, where should I take it?" Clara asks, holding a bag.
"I'll show you." Nya smiles as she helps with some bags and they head in.
Once the two were inside Kai looked uncertain and Zane asked "You are worried about her anxiety."
"I'm just not sure how she'll be able to handle being a Ninja with something like that?" Kai frowns.
"Hey I have to go through that all the time, you see I get anxious a lot and I still fight." Jay crosses his arms.
Kai flinches and says "Yeah you're right I'm sorry I said that."
"Let's just try to give her a chance man, she may surprise us." Cole patted his back, and with that they headed in.
