Ambo 61, Truck 81, and Squad 3 pulled up to the movie theatre.
Boden had pulled up to Pickwick in his Deputy Chief vehicle.
He stepped out of it.
Boden put his helmet on.
Sylvie and me got out of Ambo 61.
Kidd, Carver, Herrmann, and Mouch got out of Truck 81.
Severide, Cruz, Capp, and Tony got out of Squad 3.
A worker approached Boden.
"I don't know what happened. It sprang up out of nowhere."
She coughed.
"How many people inside?"
"I don't know. I saw some people trapped by the screen. And Brady and Ivy are down in the storage room."
"Severide, we got two trapped downstairs. Kidd, primary search inside the theater."
"Copy."
"Herrmann, get two lines in there."
"Got it."
"You hold it back as long as you can."
"Copy that. Let's go, boys."
"Guys, we got two minutes in here, not ten." Boden informed.
"How many in there?"
"Two."
Kidd
"Truck, primary search inside the theater."
Violet
Boden approached us.
"Brett, set up triage outside of the collab zone. I've already called in EMS Plan One, so cavalry's on its way."
"Okay."
"But you keep them back. This building isn't gonna last much longer."
She nodded her head.
"You got it, Chief."
He walked away.
"Everyone, come to me so we can get you on Oxygen and make sure you're okay. Be patient. We will get to you." Sylvie ordered.
"Let's go, let's go, let's go."
Kidd
"Ready, truck?" I questioned.
"Let's move our asses!"
"Ready?"
"Stand by to charge the line."
Severide
Cruz, Capp, Tony, and me walked into Pickwick.
The fire alarm blared.
Kidd
"Alright. Come on. Keep moving!" Kelly ordered.
"This way! Keep moving!"
"This way!"
People were coughing.
"Come on! Keep moving. Keep moving!"
Severide
Cruz, Capp, Tony, and me headed down to the basement.
Kidd
Gallo, Carver, and me headed into the theater.
"Okay, everyone, stay calm! Walk, don't run to the nearest exit!" I ordered.
All of the kids were out of the theater.
"Okay. Spread out! Get as many people out as you can." I ordered.
"Come on out! This way!" I ordered.
They were helping them out.
"Chief, we need hose lines in the theater. It's cooking in here." I informed.
"Come on."
Boden
"51, get in there with that hose line." I ordered.
"Copy that, Chief!" Herrmann replied.
Reiter headed in with Herrmann.
Violet
I was wrapping somebody's burn.
Two more Paramedics arrived.
"Smoke inhalation to the left. Burn victims to the right." I informed.
"Got it."
Evan
I arrived at Pickwick theater.
Boden glanced over at me.
I got out of the Field Chief vehicle.
I glanced over at Violet.
She looked back at me.
"Hey, Chief." I greeted.
"I'll take over directing triage." I told him.
"Thank you, Chief Hawkins."
Another ambo arrived.
Boden
"Okay. One more minute and I want everybody out of there." I ordered.
"I do not like the way that this looks." I commented.
Severide
Cruz, Capp, Tony, and me hurried down the stairs.
"The door is jammed!"
"Help us!"
"Cruz, Halligan!" I ordered.
"Copy!"
We were slamming our halligan into the door.
"Please hurry!"
Kidd
"Here we go."
"Run out that way!" Carver ordered.
"Right this way. Sir."
"Go all the way down. You got him?"
"Stay low. Stay low, stay low."
"Come on, man."
Carver had a guy's arm around his shoulders.
"Coming through. Coming through!"
"Keep it going." I ordered.
"There you go."
"Hey!"
"This way! Come on!"
"Hey! Over- Hey, hey!"
"No, not that way."
"Gallo! Wait!"
He grabbed the kid.
The ceiling collapsed.
"Mayday! Mayday! Chief, it's Gallo! Gallo's down! Gallo's down!"
Evan
Violet looked towards the building.
"Stay focused. They'll get him." Brett told her.
Kidd
"Gallo!" I called.
"Gallo!" Carver called.
"Mouch!" I ordered.
"Got them, got them!"
He got them up.
Mouch helped them out.
Severide
"Go!"
We broke open the door.
"Capp! Tony!"
They hurried into the store room.
"Come on! Let's go!"
Kidd
"Gallo? Gallo!" I called.
Severide
"Go!"
Tony helped the male worker out.
"Come on!"
Capp helped the female worker out.
We hurried back up the stairs.
Kidd
"Gallo!" I called.
"Carver, you see Gallo?"
"Negative, Lieutenant! I don't have him."
"Gallo!"
Severide
"Hey! Where's Kidd and Gallo?" I questioned Carver.
He motioned to the theater.
Boden
"Okay. Kidd, need a report on Gallo."
"We got Gallo, Chief. We're coming out."
Severide
I smiled at Stella and Gallo.
Violet
I stood with my hands on my hips.
Boden
Herrmann, Reiter, Capp, and Tony walked out.
"Primary search is complete. PAR all good. All Firefighters are clear." Herrmann informed.
"Okay. Let's go defensive. Bring out the water cannon."
"You got it, Chief."
Severide, Cruz, Kidd, Gallo, and Carver came out of the theater.
Violet
I banged on the back window of an ambo, signaling it was okay for them to leave.
The siren wailed as it pulled away.
I looked over.
A man groaned as he came out of the theater.
He was coughing.
I ran over there when the man collapsed on the ground.
"Hey. Hey, hey, hey."
I kneeled beside him.
"Come on. Come on."
I gave the guy my hand.
"What's your name?"
"Gabriel."
He coughed.
"Okay, Gabriel. Gabriel."
I was trying to help Gabriel up.
Evan
I spotted Violet over with a victim by the building.
Violet
I had stood up.
"Let's go."
Evan
"Chief Boden."
Boden looked over at me.
"Looks like Violet needs help with a victim over here."
Violet
"That's it. That's it."
Gabriel was gripping onto my hand.
I looked up when I heard rumbling.
Evan
I stared as the building collapsed.
"Mayday!" Boden called into his radio.
He ran over.
All of them were shouting as they ran over.
"Mayday!" Boden said into his radio.
"North side!"
He was kneeling by the debris.
"We got two! Mikami and a victim!"
"Come on!" Severide ordered.
"Get in there." Boden ordered.
"Easy, easy." Carver ordered.
"Watch it, watch it, watch it! Watch it." Severide cautioned as Boden was sliding.
They moved pieces aside.
"Got him!"
"Severide!"
"Backboard!" Severide ordered.
"Coming in!"
"C-Collar!" Brett ordered.
They slid the backboard in.
Another paramedic handed Brett a C'collar.
"Lift him."
"Oh, God. Oh, God." I commented.
"Okay. Easy, easy."
"One, two, three."
They lifted the victim up.
They slid him onto the backboard.
"Easy, easy."
"One, two, three."
Brett helped lift it up.
"Back, back!" Boden yelled at me.
I backed up.
They had put the backboard on the gurney.
They were rolling the gurney away.
"Got her!" Kidd yelled.
"Keep working, guys!" Cruz ordered.
"Watch your step." Carver warned.
They slid a piece of cement out of the way.
"Keep working!"
"Got to get her clear!" Kidd pointed out.
Kidd and Gallo moved a piece of cement aside together.
"Sliding down." She informed.
"Gotta get these doors out of here." Carver pointed out.
They picked one of the doors up.
They passed it out the line.
"Don't press!" Carver yelled.
"Watch it, watch it, watch it!" Gallo ordered.
"Watch it! Careful!" Carver warned.
They lifted the other door up.
"Get out, get out, get out!" Brett yelled, shoving pass them.
"Move, move! Go!"
She jumped down into the pit made by the building collapsing.
Brett felt Violet's wrists for a pulse.
She ripped her shirt open.
Brett blew air into Violet's mouth.
She pushed down on her chest.
"Come on, Violet. Come on, Violet."
Brett continued pushing down on Violet's chest.
"Talk to me, Violet. Come on. Talk to me."
She blew air into her mouth again.
Brett went back to pushing down on Violet's chest.
"Just talk to me. Talk to me, Violet."
She continued pushing down on her chest.
"Talk to me. Please, please, please."
Gallo looked down.
"Please."
Kidd adjusted her helmet.
"Please, please. Come on, Violet. Violet, talk to me. Come on. Talk to me."
I looked up at Boden.
"Come on."
Brett continued pushing down on Violet's chest.
"Please, God, please!"
He leaned down.
"Please, Violet, please!"
Boden grabbed Brett, picking her up.
"No! I can do it!"
"Let them work."
"I can save her, please."
He held her back.
"No!"
"Let them work. Let them work."
"No, Violet!"
"Let them work."
Brett was crying.
"No."
"One, two, three."
They slid Violet onto the backboard.
"No!"
Her eyes were wide open.
"No. No. No!"
They lifted the backboard with her on it up.
They put it on a gurney.
"She was just looking at me."
"I know."
"Please, Chief, let me try."
"I got you."
"Let me try."
"I got you."
"No! No, no!"
They were rolling the gurney with Violet on it away.
She sobbed.
"No, no, no, no, no."
I stopped the gurney with her on it.
I didn't hear any of Violet's ribs break when Brett was performing CPR.
If you don't hear any ribs breaking, it means it was done wrong.
So, she did it wrong on her.
I was pressing down on Violet's chest.
You could hear her ribs breaking.
Violet groaned quietly.
"Ow."
Gallo, Severide, and me laughed.
"Let's move her, guys."
"Got it, Chief."
Brett and other EMTs got the bleeding to stop.
"You got lucky."
"Oh, how is that?"
"You don't go no internal bleeding."
"It wouldn't be the first time."
Violet got up.
She got in Ambo 61.
"First time I saw somebody shake off an incident like that."
"It's a night for you. Both of you. Go home."
"Chief."
"Hawkins is technically in charge of you. Since he's here."
"Hey. Wanna ride with me?"
"Yeah."
Violet got out of Ambo 61.
We walked over to the Field Chief car.
I opened the passenger side door for her..
Violet slid in.
I shut the door.
I got in the driver's seat.
She was in and out of it.
"Hey! You're not supposed to sleep for a good four hours after an incident like that."
"Please. Play Paramedic with somebody that is actually gonna listen."
I laughed.
I shook my head when Violet fell asleep.
