Hello everyone and welcome to my newest story, Kamisama Hajimemashita/Kiss: Nanami's Cultivating Guide to Becoming a Land Goddess. I know a long title, but there are longer ones out there in regular manga/anime. And with me is my friend and co-writer, Darklord333.

Dark: Hey guys! Glad to be here with Light/Xara.

Now, I know this seems like something out of left field for my normal stuff, not being action and what not. But it was something that was stuck in my head after watching the series.

Dark: I get the general idea. What is this juicy content that has been in your mind for some time?

Well, the idea was that in the show, Nanami, the main character, is a human land goddess, and that doesn't sit well with most Yokai, seeing as humans can't become gods. But I thought, 'Uh… Humans become gods all the time due to cultivating and what not.' And this tides of her getting more than one blessing from a god of different patients for her to evolve into an actual goddess. With some Gamer powers in it. … I seem to be using the Gamer a lot now that I think about it…

Dark: Oh wow! So, you're taking the Chinese concept of cultivation like YOUR COURTING DEATH! YOU DARE SPEAK AGAINST ME! KNEEL BEFORE ME AND CALL ME DADDY!(Uhhhhh, in not that way kind of context)

(Gives Dark a flat look)

Dark: Come on! You know it's true! I've seen a lot of Chinese novels saying that. Trust me, their pride goes way beyond reality.

Good thing she won't be like that… She just wants to help people.

Dark: Thank god for that, but seriously though I get the idea. I know in the future she will become a great goddess in the future, she just needs the right people to guide her. Unlike her deadbeat of a father.

I'm just wondering how the Yokai of Japan will take this knowing there's a way for humans to become Yokai or Gods.

Dark: One thing about cultivation is that it involves the path they seek in cultivation. It is not limited to just becoming a God.

… Why do you think I added Yokai… They're Japanese Spirits/Demons.

Dark: Cultivation is…what people call complicated. Like I said before, not limited to just becoming a God.

… I thought there were only God and Demon paths? There are more? … That's the first I've heard about it… How many Cultivation pathways are there?

Dark: Many, depending how the Chinese novelist writes it. Pathways is just mostly depending on two things, good and evil. Even so, it's not limited to those paths. Depending on the path to stars, beasts, demons, yokais any! If you read enough wuxia novel or manhua, you'll get the idea and concept.

I see. Anyways, we should move on. Would you like to do the disclaimer?

Dark: Sure thing, hold on let me get the script…uhhhh….aha! Found it! Yes. We do not own any of the media in this story. Only OCs and changes to the media. How's that?

Good to me. Anything else to add?

Dark: Nothing to add now, all that is left to see the beginning of her journey, to become the greatest goddess there is.

Okay then, onto the chapter then.

Dark: LETS GO!

Chapter 1: Cultivating Tip 1: Starting the Journey of a Goddess

You all probably know about Nanami Momozono, and how she became a human land goddess by now, if you have read the romance comedy manga, or watched the series you would know. She was a bright young girl, but due to her gambling addiction and cheapskate of a father, she had to live with less than ideal standards. Now we know how the story goes, her deadbeat dad ran away, making Nnami lose her home, and being evicted from her home. Now she's at a bench at a park at night, cursing her father out, goes through hardships and helps save Tomoe and marries him, after he becomes human. Let's see what happens when she meets not one god on that fateful night, but three, and flip the script on Nanami instead. This should be entertaining.

"DAMN YOU OLD MAN! IF I EVER SEE YOU AGAIN, I'M GOING TO BEAT YOU TO HELL!" Nanami shouted in pure anger in the air , letting her frustration of her father out.

"Someone help!" came a cry of a man, surprising Nanami. She could also hear a dog barking. She looked to see a blonde, almost white, hair man in a trench coat in a tree while a dog was barking at him. "Please, you gotta help me! Can you please get that dog out of here!?"

Nanami walked up to the dog and shooed the dog away. It did so, running away. The man climbed down, letting out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank you so much. You're a true lifesaver, miss. I had just come back to this town with some friends for the first time in a while, and that dog jumped out of nowhere and barked at me."

"So, you must be afraid of dogs?" Nanami asked him.

"Yeah, kinda."

"Yo! Mikage!" came another male voice farther up, making the two look and see two people walking to them.

One was the guy that called to the now named Mikage, waving to him. They had flaming red spiky hair and sideburns, blue-green colored eyes, and what looked like a punk rocker look to them. His face almost looked like a monkey, an eclectic guitar slung over his shoulder, as well as its case on his back.

"I'm so glad we found you," came the voice of the second person, who was female.

The female had long waist raven hair that almost looked green in the right light, sea green colored eyes, and had on casual winter dress attire, ones that were for nice walks. It had flower patterns on the dress. She had a natural beauty that most women would mourn over.

"H-Hey Gaia, Sun, sorry for running off like that," Mikage apologized to the two.

The now name Sun shrugged. "Guess the neighbors weren't too kind to see you back after so long~" he teased his friend.

Mikage pouted to Sun. "You're so mean…"

Gaia giggled at the two's antics, then spotted Nanami. "I take it you helped out our friend here?"

"Yeah, it wasn't too much trouble," Nanami replied back.

"Are you a local person yourself, miss?" Mikage asked his savior.

"Y-yes I am…..unfortunately not for long." Nanami said while lowering her head.

"What happened dear?" Gaia asked, sounding worried.

Nanami then explained to the three all about what happened and how she lost her home thanks to her father's debt and ran away, getting her evicted from her home.

"Geez… your father was a right piece of work," Sun stated, leaning on the back of the park bench they were all round/on.

"Yeah, he is. I always loved my dad no matter what he did, even still when he abandoned me…. I can't get so angry at my father. He may have caused me to have a lot of debts, abandoned me on a journey and lost our house, he's still my father." Nanami sadly said with a smile on her face.

"Well, that's awfully so selfish of you. Your father left you like this and you still love him?" Sun Wukong said to Nanami. "You know, if you want, just ask me and I'll beat the crap out of that deadbeat of a father." Sun Wukong suggested to Nanami while pointing at himself and letting out a grin.

He was promptly smacked over the head by Gaia. "You will do no such thing."

"Ah, come on…" Sun said with a pout. "Please Gaia. You know I want to make this stinking ass of a father pay for leaving behind his daughter."

"The answer is still no Sun." He just slumped

.Mikage looked away in embracement. "Well…. I have a confession to make. I also abandoned my home as well." This surprised Nanami. "It's been a few decades since I've last been there… There's no telling how everyone is doing. Tomoe's bound to jump-kick me as soon as I show my face."

"I kept telling you man," Sun started, dope slapping him, "you should have at least sent them letters telling them you were alright, and your business is taking longer than normal."

Mikage lowered his head in embarrassment. "I know, it's just not easy."

"You were just scared he'd run to where you sent it, then kick your ass anyways, anfd drag you back while lecturing you severely," Gaia stated, making him slump further, an aura of depression over his head.

"At least you have a home to go back to," Nanami said. She then rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "Sounds kinda awesome; I don't even have that anymore."

"Oh, you poor dear..." Gaia said, hugging the girl in a motherly way, and rubbing the back of her head. This made Nanami tense and remember her late mother. "Don't worry, I know that everything will be better for you soon enough~"

"I can give you my home," Mikage offered. "I don't mind."

This surprised Nanami. "Eh?" Nanami said in surprise before it turned into a full-blown shock. "EEEEHHHHH!? Y-Your giving me y-your home? Why?"

Sun laughed at her reaction. "That's about the reaction someone would get from something so out of the blue~"

Mikage stood up from his seat. "The house shouldn't be left unattended forever. And if you were there, I wouldn't have to worry about it importantly." He then kissed her on the forehead, surprising the girl. "You are more worthy of that house than I am."

Sun laughed loudly. "Such a charmer, this one~"

Gaia covered her mouth and gave a chuckle. "Yes, he can be at times~"

Mikage then held a piece of paper to her, ignoring his two friends. "Try going to this place I've mapped out. If you tell them Mikage told you to go there, they will be sure to welcome you."

"Are you sure about that~?" Sun asked him in a tease. "I've seen how and heard how Tomoe can be to people he doesn't like."

"I-I'm sure he will be…" he said, trying to keep the unsureness out of his voice.

Gaia rolled her eyes. "Men can be such idiots at times~" this got an indignant, 'Hey!' from said two men. She then turned to Nanami and kissed her on the head as well. "For good luck in the future, young Nanasmi~"

Nanami, now blushing from the affections she has gotten, looked to Sun, and asked him, "Y-You're not going to kiss me as well, right?"

Sun just waved her off. "Nah, you might pass out~" He said in a teasing tone. He then pulled out a book from his Guitar case on his back. "I will give you this though as a gift~"

"Huh? What's this? And why do you have a book from your guitar case?" Nanami asked while being baffled at the sight.

Sun shrugged. "Was the only place I could keep it at the time. It's a book on cultivation. Good book for meditating and helping you relax~"

"Why do I need this?"

Sun shrugged. "Just for a good read~"

"Anyways, we should be going," Mikage stated. The three of them started to leave. "When you get to your new home, you'll be the new lady and mistress of the home to them."

"Uh… Their what?" Nanami asked, sounding shocked.

Gaia covered her mouth again to hold her laughter. "He's sort of a lord of the place. Sort of like a mansion sort of thing."

"I… see…"

The three of them had finally left sight of Nanami, Sun looking to Mikage. "You know this is a crazy plan, right?"

Mikage just smiled. "Crazy it might be, Tomoe deserves to have love and happiness. She was the perfect candidate to create something new in this land~"

"I can't wait to see my little champion blossom into a fine goddess~" Gaia said, sounding motherly. She then pouted a bit. "I almost wanted to adopt her there on the spot. She deserves a mothers love after so long…"

"Maybe when we see her again, Gaia," Mikage stated, smiling.

Back with Nanami, she was still a bit confused about the whole ordeal. She looked at the hand drawn map. "New lady and mistress?" She started to follow the directions she was given. "I might as well roll with it. I don't have anywhere else to go."

She finally arrived at her new place… Only to find out it was a rundown shrine temple. "I got played," she growled out in anger. She turned around in a huff, tears in her eyes. "I swear, I am never gonna trust any adult again ever!"

"Lord Mikage?" came a voice from out of nowhere, surprising Nanami.

"Welcome back home, Lord Mikage." another voice greeted, making Nanami look all over the place in worry.

"Oh, you brought guests with you, Lord Mikage," the first voice said.

""They seem interesting, Lord Mikage," the second one said.

Just then, red and black flames appeared in front of Nanami, making her freak out severely. "Lord Mikagi~" both voices called out.

"AAAAAAAAAAAH! GHOST!" Nanami shouted, running backwards. This caused her to trip and fall into the entrance of the shrine on her back.

"Indeed, it is you," came a new voice. Hearing this voice Nanasmi sat up and saw the back of a man with white, almost silver, hair, fox ears and tail, in a traditional Japanese yukata with flower patterns. This freaked her out more. "And indeed, you did bring guests. Where have you been? Having fun for so long? I've waited quite some time for your return. Twenty years feels like an absolute eternity to me; how about you?" He turned to look at Nanami showing his gray collared fox eyes and handsome face." Nanami was scared out of her wits at this point. The fox man then goes to attack Nanami. "Die, you fiend!" When he got close to her, he stopped, seeing that she wasn't Mikage at all. A few seconds passed, until he stood straight, making Namami fall backwards. "Rat. Bad news. This is not Mikage. Maybe his guest?"

Just then, two fireballs of the same flames appeared and turned into two small humanoid creatures with masks on their faces and yukatas as well, known as Will-o-the-wisp.

"What? Impossible," came the voice of the second one. They wear a face mask of a traveler with one eye closed.

The first one that spoke first, who was wearing a mask of what looked like a geisha, put their hand on Nanami's head, making two lights, one yellow, another blue, appear on her head. "Master Tomoe, as you can see, the mark of the land god is here on the forehead, exactly where it should be. Although I'm not sure what the other mark is."

The second one points to the yellow glowing mark. "And I sense Lord Mikage's spiritual energy. I'm not sure whose energy the other is though."

"Yet that doesn't make her him," the now named Tomoe stated. "Now, then, woman." Tomoe sat, looking at her in either irritation or annoyance, the two Will-o-the-wisp standing on each side. "Tell me. Who are you?"

Nanami was freaking out completely now. "Supernatual things are everywher! I'm in a yokai shrine!"

"Now now. Try not to aggravate the girl. You're scaring her." Came a male voice that scolded the three Yokais.

"Geez, you got a pair of lungs on ya girl," came a new female voice from the front, getting all four's attention. They see two people, a man and a woman.

One is the form of a tall man with unkempt messy hair and deep black eyes. He wears a black shirt with a purple sash-like cloth on each side of his shoulder reaching all the way to his thighs. That along with his shirt is being tied tightly with a black rope to his waist. He was holding a silver skull of a handle. Red shaft and a rounded silver tip.

The other took the appearance of a beautiful, buxom woman with long hair and pointed ears. She has markings around her eyes and her fingernails have grown very long. She wore a robe that covered the top half, exposing her stomach for an Indian outfit. (A/N 1)

Tomoe narrowed his eyes on the two. "And how are you two? Why didn't we sense you before?" he asked them, ready to attack if need be.

"Oh my, quite the rude one. For a fox yokai aren't you?" The lady said with a smile while hiding it behind her hand. "I'm surprised that you haven't remembered me, Tomoe. Guess it has been a while since we've met."

"How the hell do you know my na-"

One of the Will-O-Wisp gasped in surprise before he recognized who the mysterious woman was. "L-L-L-L-Lady-"

"LADY PARVITA!" The second one finished what the first one was about to say. They both hurriedly flew towards Parvita and slammed their heads in the ground.

BAM!

"GREETINGS LADY PARVATI! WELCOME TO OUR ESTEEMED HUMBLE SHRINE!" the Will-o-Wisps said while still bowing their heads to the ground.

"It seems you're still recognizable in this land, Shiva's wife." the man said to the woman while pressing his skull cane on the ground. "I'm not that well known in these lands I'm afraid."

"Oh don't be like that ya gloomy devil." Parvati said to the man.

Tomoe widened his eyes from the revelation of who the woman was, he took a step back in shock. This woman was Parvati, one of Shiva's wives, The Goddess of Power, Nourishment, Devotion, Motherhood, Fertility, and Harmony. A foreign goddess from India.

He regained the emotion to speak after a moment of silence and getting out of his shock. "What… What is one of the Indian Gods doing in the lands of the Shintos?" He asked the goddess.

"Oh isn't it so obvious?" Parvati said to the fox Yokai before pointing at Nanami. "We're here for her."

"Huh?" Nanami said in confusion when the beautiful woman pointed at her for some reason.

"Let me rephrase what Parvati said specifically," the man took a step forward while tapping his cane on the floor as he walked. "Since she was chosen to be Mikage's successor, Gaia wanted to make sure she is properly educated in the Gods duty, as well as train her as she is still a mortal before she can become a goddess." the man clarified before he stopped walking.

"Wait, still mortal?" Nanami asked, confused. "What do you mean still mortal?"

"To put it simply, young Nanami, we are going to turn you into an actual Goddess~" Parvati stated, smiling at her. "Isn't that wonderful~?"

A second or two passed, letting the information sink into both Nanami and Tomoe. But when it did. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?" both shouted in both outrage and surprise.

After calming down, Nanami had give Tomoe the map that Mikage gave her to find the place.

"Look, Master," the first Will-o-Wisps stated.

"Yes, this moronic handwriting has to be Mikage," Tomoe stated, holding a fan to his face.

"He said since I have nowhere else to go that I should come and live here," Nanami stated, now taking a moment to see how gorgeous Tomoe was.

Tomoe was not pleased at all, glaring at Nanami. "So you know, the man you met was the land god of this region. And this shrine is the home of that land god. The fact he sent you here as the new lady and mistress can only mean he left you to be the land god of the place." He then turned to the other two, glare intensifying. "And how my Lord was able to convince you to help her is beyond my understanding. It infuriates me to no end…!"

"He didn't convince us." The man said while his eyes began to glow in red, putting his hands together on his cane. "Parvati is here only to help the girl in her ascension Yokai while I am here to make sure she has the proper knowledge, to learn what it means to be a God."

"Now, now, boys, let's not get into an argument here." Parvati intervened, putting herself between the Yokai and the man. "Whether you like it or not Mikage has decided to give his position to her, so you have to respect his decision. You do not want to disappoint him do you?"

"Oh, what a happy day~!" shouted the first Will-o-Wisp in joy, the two throwing confetti, sakura petals and rice in celebration around Nanami.

"The land god has finally returned to the shrine~!" the second shouted, just as cheerfully.

"We must prepare a feast for the occasion at once~!" the first one demanded.

"Please enjoy, Lady Goddess of the Land~!" the second stated, the two of them pulled out food out of nowhere.

"Help yourself~!" Both said.

"Wait!" Nanami shouted, shouting her arms out to stop everyone. "Hold on!" She then calmed down, looking at everyone, still confused. "So… Uh… You said I was a land god-"

"Land Goddess," Parvati corrected.

"-whatever, land god/goddess, right? I'm just Nanami Momozono, just a normal high school student. I mean, how and why did I become a god?"

"'Tis simple," The two Will-o-Wisps stated, they then pointed to her head, the yellow mark glowing.

"It all happened the moment that you received that mark on your forehead," the first stated.

"As for the other mark," the man stated, having the blur one appear next to it, "that is Lady Gaia's blessing, marking you as her champion. Her gift should appear in the morning."

"I have marks? Really?" Nanasmi asked, surprised. Just then, realization hit her, remembering them kissing her forehead. She then put a hand to her head. "Moment? They kissed me. Oh no… That was it."

Tomoe narrowed his eyes. "You call this a god?" He pulled Nanami close to his face by the chin, looking unimpressed by Nanami. "What could a pathetic looking thing like her even do? At the most, she might be able to weeb the yard or perhaps count the money offerings. Unacceptable!"

BAM!

"Argh!" Tomoe shouted in pain when he finished the sentence. When he was about to get up, something hit him on the back of his head hard, keeping him from moving his head.

"I would watch what you are saying yokai." Tomoe heard it came from the man who was responsible for attacking him and preventing him from moving.

'H-How did he- I didn't see him move!' Tomoe mentally said to his mind while trying to comprehend what just happened a second ago.

"Once a god has chosen his successor, they must prepare their duties under the former who has once served the God that has chosen their heir."

Tomoe got over his shock, and was able to throw the man off him. He then grabbed him by the neck, and summoned fox fire in his other hand. "I care not! I want her thrown out immediately and you two to leave! If you two want to be useful, find Lord Mikage and drag that moron back here-ACK!" Tomoe was cut off yet again when the man grabbed him by his throat an instant while choking him.

"I will not tolerate this behavior, lowly being. You dare disrespect Shiva's wif-"

"Enough!" Nanami shouted, getting the three bickering idiots to look at her. She then got up to all three, yelling in their faces. "You three are being awfully high and mighty and rude to me for no reason! Tomoe the most! I bet a rundown shrine like this doesn't even get money offerings! You couldn't pay me to do it!"

The two Will-o-Wisps were trying to plead to Nanami not to go, and begging her to stay. Tomoe looked pissed. "If you intend to give that creature a place here, I shall leave this shrine-"

"Then go on ahead." The man said to Tomoe, not before bringing him close to his face, showing him his red glowing eyes. "What is a worthless mutt to a Goddess if he is all bark but no bite." He said before throwing him away, a few distance from him.

Tomoe landed on his feet. "I am Mikage's familiar," he stated, turning away from them all. "I do not intend to serve anyone else." He starts gradually vanishing into the house. "If you like, ask a stray dog or something to stepin as my replacement. Or those two foreigners that are oh so happy to help serve her."

"At least a stray dog can be more loyal to a fox. They always hunt down the foxes with their scent. No matter where you go or hide, a dog alway finds its prey." the man retorted back at Tomoe, causing him to grit his teeth in anger.

Nanami wasn't having it and pushed past everyone."Wait! Don't go!"

But it was too late, Tomoe vanished in a puff of fox fire.

"Well, he hasn't changed much," Parvati said with a sigh.

Nanami sighs and looks at all of the supernatural beings. "So, um… I don't suppose you could at least put me up for the night?"

The two Will-o-Wisps bowed and shouted in cheer, "With pleasure~!"

Parvati giggles at her. "Dear, this is your home now, you're the goddess of this land now. You don't need to ask."

"I-I'm still new in getting this whole goddess issue." Nanami hesitantly said to Parvati.

"Trust us, people do tend to get overwhelmed by their sense of reality being broken." the man stated, shrugging. "It happens."

Nanami still was comprehending the situation that had just happened that day. Though as she does, she had one question in mind, shifting her attention to the man with the skull cane. "That reminds me… who are you?"

"Hmmmmm, I haven't properly introduced myself." the man said to the girl before he placed both of his hands and stood a little straighter. "My name is Beelzebub, the lord of the flies, one of the cardinal sins of hell, ruler of the third circle of hell, gluttony."

BAM!

Nanami fainted when she heard who the mysterious man was, which happens to be Beelzebub, a scary demon she once studied in history class about the bible's history.

"LADY NANAMI!" both Will-o-Wisps shouted in fear for her.

The man named Beelzebub looked at Nanami for a moment before lowering his head. He let out a sigh of defeat. "They always do this the moment they ask who I am."

"Ahhh, don't be like that Beelzebub," Parvati said, patting his back. "I think this whole ordeal of the day was just too much, and learning there's a demon as strong as pantheon gods might have just hit the final nail of the day."

"I guess." Beelzebub said to one of the wives of Shiva before looking at the girl. "We should help her get to bed, tomorrow she will have to learn what it means to be a goddess."

"We will get the futon out for her," the first Will-o-Wisps said.

"Ity is our duty to help our lady," the second Will-o-Wisps stated.

"At least you two are okay with Nanmami being transformed into a goddess," Beelzebub stated. "Unlike some stingy low class mutt who refuses to obey his master's wishes."

"But you do need to be careful Lord Beelzebub, you may be strong, but your powers are slightly diminished due to this being the shinto areas, and not enough belief in your powers are weakened due to it," the first one reminded.

"It doesn't matter to me how little I have gotten weak. If he tries anything like that again, I will teach him a lesson in humility." Beelzebub stated sternly.

"Just….. go easy on the poor boy. Tomoe hasn't seen his master for a long time. He just needs to learn how to be respectful." Parvati said to her companion.

"But he is respectful," the second Will-o-Wisps stated.

"But mostly to the Shinto Gods," the first added.

Beelzebub's left eye started twitching in irritation. "Great… He's going to be a real "joy" to be around…" He sarcastically stated, wanting to hit Tomoe over the head… multiple times.

(Next Day)

It was a nice sunny day. Nanami had started to wake up thanks to the sun. She then sat up, smiling like she had a bizarre dream, thinking yesterday was just that. "Talk about a weird dream! My dad had ran away and the house got seized, so I didn't have anywhere to live until these two guys and a woman greeted me, one of them giving up his own home to me, and another gave me a book of cultivations, but when I got to the home, it was a rundown shrine with little ghost in it who told me I was a land god, which made me all like, "What the heck!?", and this obnoxious guy with ears named Tomoe or whatever wouldn't stop saying the whole thing was unacceptable. And not only that, a goddess from Asian pantion, and a high ranking demon from the bible also came to help me cultivate my new goddess status to transform into one from a mortal! Hahaha! How funny!"

"Good morning, Lady Goddess of the land," said two spirits were right in front of her, bowing.

If that was crazy enough, a box appeared in front of her.

[You have slept in a futon,

Your HP and MP have been restored.

All Status effects have been nullified.]

Nanami was in shock. "Wh-What…?"

"And now, if you please," the first spirit stated.

"Get right to it," the second one finished.

Nanami was even more confused. "To what?"

"You're duties as a land god, my lady," they both informed her.

"Now hold your horse you two," Parvati scolded them, walking in. "You're overwhelming the poor girl."

"But Lady Parvati, she needs to get to work that hasn't been done and all the chores as well," the second said.

"You will not need to worry wisp." Beelzebub informed the two will-o-wisps, walking in. "I have taken on some matters with handling only a few chores."

"Nanami hasn't even gotten your two's names either."

"Oh, how careless of us!" the two shouted.

"I'm Onikiri," the first spirit introduced.

"And I'm Kotetsu," the second one greeted.

"We hope to serve you well Lady Goddess of the Land~!" both stated at the same time.

"WAIT! I never even agreed to be this Land god," Nanami stated, freaking out.

"I'm afraid you have no choice." Beelzebub said to Nanami while walking towards her. "Like I said yesterday, once a God has chosen another being as his successor. Their powers will be passed on to you. You are still mortal, the divinity you gained recently is working its way, turning you from a human to a Goddess, thanks to Gaia's powers combining with Mikage's."

"Yes, and sense Master Tomoe is gone, you're the only one to protect the shrine," Onikiri added. "Besides Lady Parvati and Lord Beelzebub."

"We will answer any question you would like as well," Kotetsu added, wanting to help Nanami in her new role.

"Okay, before I ask about things here, why do I have this… box in front of me?" Nanamik asked, pointing to the still blue box of her sleeping on a futon. "And why do I have this power?"

"... Looks like Gaia gave her new [Gamer] toy to a new player," Parvati said, with a giggle.

"Oh goody~" both will-o-wisps cheered. "That means she can work twice as hard and get better twice as fast~!"

"Uh… What?" Nanami asked, lost again.

"Allow me to explain." Beelzebub said to Nanami, he stabbed his skeleton cane on the ground. "Gaia, the primordial of the Earth goes by many names, Nuwa, Terra, mother nature or other names she has been called. Her most common name, Gaia as you can call her. What you possess, is an extreme and rare gift Gaia has ever granted to anyone in the world."

"Wait, I have another blessing? One coming from mother nature itself!?"

"Yes, think of what humans call them an RPG game or video game to be exact," Beelzebub informed Nanami.

"Well that sucks cause I haven't played any games in my life." Nanami said, pouting.

"Why is that, may I ask?"

"'Cause my deadbeat of a father keeps getting into debts and spending all our money on lottery tickets."

"... Remind me to ask Malina to borrow some of her games and consoles…" Beelzebub muttered to himself. "As well as ask Lucifer to send her father to every hell on Earth…" (A/N 2)

"Now, now Beelzebub, let's take it easy. Remember what Gaia said to us? Don't cause any trouble in the mortal realm or else we'll be banned from entering the human world for a thousand years." Parvati reminded to Beelzebub. She placed her arm over the lord of flies and huddled up together. "I'll ask my husband to send in some Asura to find and pursue Nanami's father, I need a couple of demons who can find that filthy man." she quietly said to Beelzebub.

"Can you not talk about damning my father right in front of me…?" Nanami asked the two, in a flat voice.

"What are you even talking about Nanami? We're just having a friendly conversation aren't we Beelzebub?" Parvati smiles sweetly while one-arm hugging Beelzebub.

"There isn't any deception in our words young lady. You can trust us." Beelzebub creepily said to her while putting a small smile on his face. The both of them crossed their fingers behind their back.

Nanami gave the two a flat, disbelieving look. "... Riiiiiiight…" She shook her head. "Anyways, how do I use this… [Gamer]?"

"Oh, this was left for you Lady Nanami," Onikiri said, holding a book and a note out to her. The book cover was call, 'Guide to the Gamer' while the note had Nanami's name on it. She took the two items but opened the note first.

Dear Nanami,

If you're reading this, that means my gift has just activated in you~ Hooray~! Now this book was made by my first ever user of my powers, this will be a guild to your new PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWERS! This will explain the basics of what you can do~ but like most games, the idea is having fun~ So go out there, and have fun and be the best you can be~

Your soon to be adopted mother,

Gaia

P.S. Sorry we dropped this all on you, but you were the best choice in billions, just goes to show how truly special you really are~ ;)

"Adopted mother!?" Nanami shouted in surprise and shock after reading that part. "She wants me to be her daughter!?"

Parvati giggles. "Looks like it dear~"

"She does this to everyone she has given her blessings to." Beelzebub said to Nanami.

"..." Nanami was at a loss for words. "I'll… just get to the book…" She picked up the book, but then a box appeared over the book.

This is the special book,

[The Guide to The Gamer]

Do you wish to learn this?

Y/N

"... Just how crazy has my life become…?" Nanami asked no one in particular.

"It gets worse each minute the more you try to fathom with reality." Beelzebub stated.

Nanami gave him an unimpressed look. "Thanks for the wise words…" Nanami pressed the Y button, thinking it stood for Yes. When she did, the book started to break down into motes of golden lights, and flew into her.

Congratulations!

You have now unlocked The Gamer's Guide!

You may look through the guide by saying [Guide].

Nanami had a wide blank look in her eyes. "Ahaha… I'm still sleeping, this is all just a dream…" She almost sounded lifeless.

[Gamer's Mind] has activated.

Nanami shook her head. "W-What was that? I-It's like my mind just made me process that… bizarreness easier."

"It seems one of your abilities, the most common one [Gamer's Mind] has been activated." Beelzebub informed Nanami.

"... I guess it's useful to keep me calm," Nanami muttered. "But that book just dissolved and went into my chest."

"That was the Skill absorption," Parvati informed. "You can learn skills through absorbing books, or items that can be read."

"Wait, any book that can be a skill?" Nanami asked. There was no way that the book Wukong gave her was actually-

"You mean this book the Monkey King gave you?" Beelzebub asked, holding said book she was given last night. "Should have seen him doing something like this."

"Is that an actual Chinese cultivation manual?" Kotetsu asked in surprise.

"Apparently it is." Beelzebub informed the will-o-wisp while looking over the book, seeing there is Chinese writing over the book. "That monkey always leaves big messes around for me to deal with."

"... Guess he wanted me to cultivate into becoming an actual goddess…" Nanami said, dryly. "... But wait, isn't that all just a bunch of snake oil?"

"In most cases you would be right, but this is a genuine Cultivation Guide," Beelzebub informed her. "Straight from the Chinese branch of heaven."

"I… don't understand. What's the difference between cultivation if it says the same thing?"

"A lot of cultivation guides written by mortals tend to be flawed. Some do work, don't get me wrong. Cultivation is what the Chinese refer to as their ascension. They use an energy which comes from both the Earth and Heaven, they refer to it as Qi."

"That sounds weird and so confusing at the same time."

"Trust me, we know." Parvati says to Nanami.

"There are several stages of cultivation levels. There are different levels for different people depending on what they want to do and the challenges that they want to face. No two cultivation methods are the same, even if they are the same path at times."

Nanami thought about it for a second and nodded. "I guess that does make sense, no two people are alike."

"Yes, while mortals cultivate their Qi, it takes them at least decades, centuries or millennials to even ascend into a God."

"Centuries?! I would be an old woman by that time!"

"But you have [The Gamer], giving you something to speed that process up, 10 fold," Parvati added, smiling at her.

"Let me finish what I was saying." Beelzebub said to Nanami and Parvati while looking rudely at them for interrupting him.

"Sorry!"

"My bad," Parvati said, waving him off playfully.

"As I was saying, Gods however are able to cultivate faster than humans. The reason why mortals take time to become a God is because they need to understand and comprehend the divinity of the energy. They must find the inside of what is really their domain. As for Gods, once an heir has been chosen, he/she is able to cultivate due to already undertaking divinity a god has chosen to take their position. Combine that with the [Gamer], it won't take a while until you become a full fledged Goddess of this land."

The two will-o-wisps cheered. "Hurray for the new Land Goddess~!"

Nanami slumped. "And I can't refuse to become the next Goddess…"

"Sorry dear," Parvati apologized to her.

Nanami sighs. "Well I have nowhere else to go…" She then smiled at them all. "But boy, are my friends never going to believe this."

"I'll let you learn this after you get used to your new possession and powers," Beelzebub informed her. "You already have enough on your plate as is. For now, let's focus on Gaia's blessing and learn the basics of your power."

"Guess so, but I need to know about that Tomoe guy first, what's his deal?" Nanami asked.

"You will perhaps find that he is less tolerable when he continues to disobey his orde-"

"Beel! Be nice to Tomoe!" Parvati scolds the Lord of the flies. He just grumbles.

"Master Tomoe is the familiar that serves Lord Mikage," Onikiri informed Nanami.

"Familyer?" Nanamui asked, confused.

"No, Familiar," Kotetsu corrected. "He was originally a wild fox but was brought on to serve and guard in place of a lion-dog."

"Which Nanami should get now," Beelzebub stated, before being dope-slapped by Parvati.

"Lord Mikage is not exactly a fan of dogs," Onikiri said, as Kotetsu had transformed into said lion-dog.

"Oh yeah, I knew that,'' Nanami stated, remembering last night's incident.

"I prefer Hellhounds and Flies myself," Beelzebub added in.

"Anyway! Time to get to work my lady!" Onkiri informed Nanami. "Lets begin cleaning up the shrine, the ground is large and you need to wipe the worship hall."

"And weed the lawn," Kotetsu added. "You need to get all the weed plucked by hand."

Nanami sighs. "Well… If I'm going to live here, I might as well help clean it. I'll check the guild for my powers after my chores."

"Like I said, I'll be helping you out as well," Beelzebub reminded her.

Nanami nodded. "Thank you."

(Shrine Yard)

Nanami had just finished the other chores and was pulling weeds out of the grass. Nanami stretched a bit, and saw she had gained what was known as a skill. Multiple in fact.

[A new skill has been created through a special action.

[You are able to clean a home and make it spotless. This skill can also come in hand outside of the house as well. Like cleaning the classroom, bussing tables at restaurants and eateries, ect. The higher this skill becomes, the longer a place can be clean, and the better it looks, even looking brand new and shiny.]

[The art of Gardening and Agriculture have been around for centuries. You are able to plant and grow multiple types of plants. The higher you get this skill, the better your plants will be, and if they are edible, the healthier and tasty they become.]

"Few… I will say this, this [Gamer] thing is useful," Nanami stated, going to pull another weed. When she went to grab it, she cut herself in the leaf. "Ow."

-1 HP

She then saw the cut close up quickly, like it was never there. "... Well that's useful. No need for bandages."

"So, you do not even know how to properly weed," came the voice of Tomoie, who appeared in a vortex of wind, a smug smiler on his face. "What a tragically useless girl."

Nanami looked annoyed. "Whsddayou want?" she asked the fox, getting back to work. "I thought you left already."

"You will never fulfill the duties of a land god," he told her, sounding sure of himself. "Why do you not head back home before you are forced to admit defeat?"

"Because I don't have a home to head back to," Nanami answered. This caught Tomoe's interest. "Thanks to all my deadbeat father's debts, the house was seized and I was kicked out."

Tomorrow seemed to be pitting the poor girl… before kicking her in the butt. "Not my problem." He was about the disappeared when-

BAM!

"Argh!"

Tomoe shouted in pain when all of a sudden Beelzebub slammed his head on the ground. Keeping him down on the ground. Beelzebub looked at Tomoe with his dead look but his eyes had a certain sharp edge over it.

"It seems a certain mutt hasn't even learned its lesson. As I said before, a dog is more loyal than a filthy fox who cannot obey its master's orders when it desires to go into the wild." He lifted Tomoe's head from the ground, his head was bleeding causing blood to drop all over his face. Tomoe growled at the lord of the flies. He screams in pain as Beelzebub clenches his hand over the fox yokai, causing his bones to crack a bit. "If you cannot learn to adjust, then you might as well be turn into du-"

"THATS ENOUGH!" Nanami shouted at Beelzebub.

"You misunderstand my intention Nanami, he's been-"

"I DON'T CARE! YOUR A GUEST, SO YOU CANNOT ATTACK HIM IN HIS HOME! I KNOW YOU'RE TRYING TO PROTECT ME! BUT I CAN PROTECT MYSELF!"

"... If that is your wish, so be it." Beelzebub said to Nanami with a sigh before dropping Tomoe.

"You should be grateful I do not turn you into the swine you are, and cook you for pork cutlets for dinner," Tomoe stated, glaring at the demon lord.

"As if you could lay a hand against me Tomoe. You forget the difference between a cardinal demon and a simple yokai."

"All I need is a sealing tag, and you'd be paralyzed, sense they are connected to heaven," he told him, before he then vanished into a gust of wind.

Beelzebub sees the retreating figure of Tomoe before he pulls out a paper tag which hiss through his hand. "It'll take more than just a simple sealing tag." The tag begins to burst into flames before crumbling into pieces. "Than to deal with me. Face it, no matter how much you try to deny or run away from it… you will have to obey like a mutt you are."

Nanami then hit him over the head. She winces as she holds her hand in pain, seemingly Beelzebub not being affected by her hit.

-15 HP

"Will you stop calling him that!?" Nanami barked. "And you're thick headed, you know that!? No wonder you two act like children!"

"Forgive me Nanami, but it's only my duty to enact discipline on those who do not wish to follow its command." Beelzebub said to Nanami.

She gave him a flat look, and asked in the flattest tone she gave that day, "You do know the irony in your worlds you just gave… right…? Or did you forget what you are…?"

"I care little what other people think of me, a demon lord, king of evil, lord of the flies or ruler of gluttony. It matters not." Beelzebub said to Nanami. "If you want to have absolute loyalty or order among your subjects, you must prove your strength over them. Setting an example of those who have any intention of overthrowing you, defying your orders." He walks away from her, entering the shrine, not before leaving one last speech to her. "By setting yourself to be beneficial, you are only making yourself weak to others. It will be how easy and fast other beings can kill you with a snap of their finger." He finished his speech before leaving her alone at the garden.

Nanami sighs. "What is it with those two…?"

'Nanami.'

"Huh?" All of a sudden, Nanami began to hear a mysterious voice echoing through her mind, causing her to pause for a second and try to look for who called out to her.

'Don't touch the mirror in the worship hall.'

"... That was weird… What was that about?"

(Shrine Main Room)

Nanami sighs, sitting down. "Man, that was a lot of work. I'm not sure if this is the actual duties of a land god? Feels like they're taking advantage of me…"

[Fluid as the wind,

"At least something good came out of this."

Just then, she heard clapping and another voice in her head. 'Dear God." Nanami looked and saw an elderly woman praying in front of the shrine. 'I'm here to pray for my daughter. Please allow her to give birth to a healthy child.'

'What? I can hear her." Nanami thought in her head. She was watching the woman walk away. "That woman. I just heard her thoughts."

"What you just heard."

"Eep!" Nanami jumped, she turned around and pressed her back at the door, looking fearfully who scared her before revealing to be Beelzebub who was standing there, both of his hands were on his skull cane.

"Was the prayer of a mortal offering money to the shrine. You have heard the hearts of the people when they pray."

"How were you behind me? I didn't see you there or even felt you were there."

"... Hhhaaaaa." In an instant, Beelzebub was at a corner, having a gloomy aura while a dark cloud loomed over Beelzebub. "Why is it that people seem to forget about me…?"

"Oh grow up you big baby," Parvati scolded him. "No wonder Tomoe doesn't respect you as a demon lord."

"Oh, ha ha…" he grumbled at the goddess.

"But Lord Beelzebub is correct," Onkiri stated.

"What you heard was the prayers inside the heart of the worshiper," Kotetsu added.

"A portion of a land god's duties is to sit in the shrine and hear the wishes from those of the land," Onkiri continued.

"Come, come, Lady Nanami," Kotetsu called out in urgency, the two bringing out a stack of notebooks. "We must move on to your next duty!"

"We need you to look through all of these-" Onkiri said, before being interrupted.

"Hold on." Beelzebub interrupted Onkiri. He had several books on his hand.

"Huh?" Onkiri and Kotetsu looked at Beelzebub and their hands before realizing he grabbed their books so fast. "How did you-"

"I'm afraid we have a problem here." Beelzebub informed the group, holding one of the notebooks. "This book isn't prayer records, they're tax records."

"Oh, must have grabbed it by mistake," Kotetsu said.

"What I am reading is the shrine taxes haven't been paid out in twenty years, with the interest, low money and hasn't been receiving any government aid. There haven't been any charities left around between five and ten years. Plus, with the interest rate. In simple terms, we are in debt." Beelzebub calculates the numbers while going through the tax record.

Both Onkiri and Kotetsu slowly became pale, Parvati eyes slowly widened themself in shock and Nanami had a dreadful feeling inside of her heart.

"What… What does that mean Beelzebub? H-How much money do we owe?" Nanami fearfully asked Beelzebub.

"About…. 400 million yen plus 54 with interest."

Nanami turned into a statue after hearing that. "Lady Nanami!" Onkiri and Kotetsu shouted in shock at their goddess.

"... That's it then… I'll be living on the streets again…" Nanami said in a hopeless voice.

"Don't worry, I might be able to just-" Parvati started but was interrupted when Nanami got a notification.

Nanami could feel her soul leaving her body after reading this. "Why…? Why did this have to appear…?" She glared at Beelzebub, her feminine aura of rage showing. "You just had to open your mouth, didn't you!?"

"It is not my fault Nanami." Beelzebub said to her, unfazed by her threat. Being a lord of the demons he was used to dealing with female succubus anger when ruling the underworld, but as the old saying goes, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn.' he is not affected by her feminine anger….. except save for some which is one of the rulers of Hell and his daughter. "It won't take long until the government will take notice of this massive debt. I was only luckily able to discover this sooner and if I hadn't."

They heard some clanking noises, they turned around and saw a construction worker hammering down a sign there before walking away. "You already know the answer." Beelzebub said to Nanami.

Nanami was holding her head in fear. She then grabbed the lord of flies by his clothes and started shaking him rapidly."WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!? I'M JUST A HIGHSCHOOL STUDENT! MOST PLACES WON'T LET ME WORK! I HAVE A HARD ENOUGH TIME ALREADY WHEN I LIVED WITH MY FATHER! NOW I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS AGAIN!? AND THANKS TO YOU, I HAVE THIS STUPID NOTIFICATION QUEST OR WHATEVER, AND YOU TWO CAN'T HELP ME PLAY THAT STUPID AMOUNT! WHAT!? IS A LOTTY JUST GOING TO SAY I WON AND WE GET ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY IT!? MY MOM WAS RIGHT, ALL MEN ARE JERKS AND CONS!"

"Why are you blaming me when I just looked over the tax record?" Beelzebub plainly asked to Nanami, unaffected by her shaking.

"BECAUSE WE'RE IN JAPAN, NOT ENGLAND OR THE STATES! GETTING A JOB FOR HIGHSCHOOL STUDENTS ISN'T EASY HERE!" She was shaking him harder, her anger growing ten fold at his callous disregard for her situation.

"I still don't see why it's all my fault." Beelzebub still plainly asked Nanami, not affected by her shaking.

"BECAUSE YOUR ACTING JUST LIKE HOW MY FATHER ACTS ABOUT IT AND PUSHING THE DEBTS ON ME! THAT'S HOW I LOST MY FIRST HOME!" she roared, seeing her father instead of Beelzebub now. That line actually stung the demon, being compared to her deadbeat of a father.

"Now, now, Nanami. Let's calm down dear." Eventually Parvati got behind Nanami and pulled her away from Beelzebub. She rubbed her head in a soothing manner. "Shh it's alright. Calm down my dear. Let go of your anger, take a couple of deep breaths, inhale and exhale, inhale and exhale, that's it. Keep doing it."

Nanami was starting to cry anime tears. "Why me…? I just want to live my life… but no matter where I turn, men just seem to ruin it… Mom was right about men…"

"Now, now, Nanami, you can't blame Beelzebub. He only informed you about this tax debt, if we actually knew Mikage shrine wasn't paying his debt then I would've smashed his face until he's unrecognizable. But the point is Beelzebub only found out about this recently and we didn't even know it would create a quest out of it, so don't take your frustration over the poor demon." Parvati said to Nanami while still hugging her and rubbing her head.

"But that still leaves the question on how I'm going to-" Nanami started, before she felt something in her pocket when she brushed it. She pulled it out and it was a gold bar. "WHAT THE HELL!? WHERE DID THIS COME FROM!?" They see a note wrapped around it with a monkey giving a peace sign.

Dear Nanami,

Yo, if you're reading this, that means the ward I placed in your pocket wore off~ Mikage informed us about the debt, and Gaia was going to make it a quest for you~ But this gold was given to you before the Quest so it was created, so that means it's yours~ Aren't loopholes fun to mess around with~? That should be enough to convert into the money you need, with some extra~

Your Best Monkey Pal,

Wukong

P.S. Gaia and Mikage are going to be mad at me for pulling this prank and outsmarting them.

BAAAM!

"GAAAAAAHHHHH!"

They heard thunder flashing all of a sudden and heard a scream that was nearby the shrine. They looked at the thunder striking somewhere, causing a person to scream out in pain. Beelzebub raised an eyebrow.

Nanami stopped for a moment before she slowly read what the last part said.

[Any gods that help you will be struck with divine punishment from the heavens.]

(With the three wandering deities)

Sun was twitching in pain from the thunderbolt Gaia laid on him. Alongside him was Mikage buried in a pile of dirt with only his legs sticking out. "You two are irritating at times, you know that!?" Gaia roared at them.

"But that gold is hers, and was given to her before the [Quest] started, so it's hers, not mine," Sun groaned in pain. "So I'm not helping her…"

"That still counts as you helping her. She got that gold just after the quest was received. I made sure there are no loopholes in my system, monkey."

"But I gave it to her last night, not today," he corrected. "Taped her pocket when I gave her my gift. So it was a gift as well."

"If it was a gift, then how come this note says otherwise." Gaia took out a replica note which Wukong made for Nanami. "This was made only after that idiot told us when he wasn't paying taxes just now!"

"You're just angry he outsmarted you…" Mikage stated, also groaning. "And for the record…. I hired someone who did my taxes."

Gaia pouted, not wanting to admit that Sun did outsmarted her. "Then why does she still have debt?" she asked the previous land god.

"...I think I forgot about that." he answered, laughing sheepishly.

"So it is your fault you idiot!" Gaia pointed at Mikage in accusation.

The two saw that lightning was going to come down on the two, again. The two gulped. Sun would live, but Mikagae was more worried about his own health.

(Back at the Shrine)

"Looks like Gaia isn't happy she was outsmarted by that monkey," Parvati said, wincing at her wrath.

Beelzebub looked at the window, before looking at Nanami who was looking at a blue screen. He walked to her, causing her attention to shift from the notification. He looks more gloomy than ever. "You'll have to forgive me for being blunt and brash Nanami. I did not know this would affect you this deeply."

Nanami sighs. "No… I guess I went a bit far… I just lost my home yesterday, and now I have another debt to deal with the next day… Not to mention becoming a goddess in training…" She slumped. "I just snapped from all the craziness…"

"As compensation for my actions… I shall help you with the matters of the debt. I was the one who discovered it, to redeem my grave action from before."

"Wait Beelzebub no! My quest says any gods who would help me on my question will be struck by divine punishment!" Nanami worriedly said to Beelzebub.

"Ah, but there's the thing, I'm not a god, I'm a demon," he countered.

"Still! You saw what happened to Wukong did you?"

"I didn't say I was going to give you money." Beelzebub retorted back at Nanami. "There are other ways to settle these kinds of debts. Charities, fundraisers, holiday events and among other things. Leave the planning to me while you must do most of the hard work. A goddess cannot deal with this type of problem alone, if she doesn't then what kind of a person are you? A coward or a fraud?"

Nanami thought it over. She was looking at the gold Sun was able to get her. It would be so easy to just use it and be over with this whole facade… but she put the gold on the table, determination in her eyes. "I'm keeping the gold, but it'll be my last option. I'm going to work my part here and do what I can to fix this debt." She then accepted the [Quest] given to her.

"That's the spirit, Nanami!" Parvati cheered Nanami while hugging her.

"... Although… Tomoe might be right… I'm not a god… I don't have any powers…" Nanami said, looking down.

"Don't let that mutt's word get over your mind. Prove him wrong by showing who is in control here." Beelzebub strongly said to Nanami. "Mikage passed down his divinity to you for a reason, Gaia gave her blessings to you and Sun Wukong risked his life, even with all his immortality, to help you out."

"I wasn't done talking," Nanami said. "I see now how much work Tomoe must have had to do all on his own, keeping track of the bills, the wishes people prayed for, keeping the shrine clean. I want to talk to him. Clearly, some of the things I assumed weren't entirely true." She looked at Onkiri and Kotetsu. "I'd appreciate it if you could take me to see him."

"Oh…" Onkiri and Kotetsu said, sounding upset. "Unfortunately-"

"I fear Master Tomoe has gone-" Onkiri started.

"-to the world over yonder," Kotetsu finished.

Nanami was a bit freaked out, but her [Gamer's Mind] was helping her not get scared. "World over yonder?" she asked the two.

"The place where Yokia of Japan live most of the time," Parvati informed. "The land of the supernatural."

Beelzebub groaned and facepalmed. "Because of course he would go there…"

"... Do any of you have a weapon I can use to defend myself with?" Nanami asked the four.

Beelzebub brought forth a scary looking blade that came from a sci-fi horror movie. "You can have this, the blade of Zebul. It was once used by a philistine king who had once wielded this blade. One scratch of it one can experience the worst pain of their life, bugs crawling into their flesh, eating their inside out while corrupting them into doing their bidding. It can summon flies that carry deadly diseases, whenever they are infected by it. Their skin and flesh shall decay until nothing remains of them. Not even their bones." Beelzebub said while the blade ominously creepy whispers.

Nanami became scared by the sight of the blade, she almost fainted and could've sworn an eye moved its pupil and looked at her.

Parvati hit him over the head for even thinking of giving her such a dangerous weapon. "That blade is both too powerful for her, and too dangerous for her to control! Are you trying to kill her, you idiot!?"

"No, just giving her an option where if she ever encounters that mutt. He'll die slow and painful like the filthy beast he is." Beelzebub said to Parvati.

"You're not even hiding your intention aren't you…?" Parvati deadpanned and asked the lord of flies.

"I would be lying if I said no." Beelzebub plainly admitted to Shiva's wife.

Just then a pop up appeared over the sword.

[Level Lock: Must be level 80, Strength and Dexterity at 100 points [Master Swordsman] level 50, and [Curse Resistant] level 90 for Nanami to wield this sword]

Beelzebub had a blank look on his face after reading the lock screen.

Parvati just giggled at his misfortune. She then pulled out a golden colored looking sword with jewels in it. It was in the shape of a scimitar sword.

"This belonged to one of Vishnu's avatars. The fourth avatar, he calls it the flaming sword."

In response to her words, the sword lit up, flames surrounding the blade causing Nanami to look in awe at the blade. "Vishnu has no need for this blade. After his fourteen reincarnation, he gave me this blade before he went to retirement. It can be a strong weapon at the hands of a powerful God, what makes this blade special is that it reflects on the power of the user." She placed the sword on her hands and gestured it to Nanami. "And now it's yours. Go on, take it."

Nanami took it recently. Parvati let go of it when she held it… and Nanmami was sent crashing to the ground due to its weight.

"Lady Nanami!" Onkiri and Kotetsu shouted in fear of her getting hurt.

"H-Heavy…" she groaned. Just then a new screen popped up.

[Level Lock: Must be level 25, Strength and Dexterity at 50, and [Basic Swordsman] level 15]

"It appears that your blade also requires her to level up her status it seems." Beelzebub calmly spoke to Parvati. .

"So does yours as well," Parvati said. "At least mine is better for her, in both powers, holy weapon, and her health when she goes to grab it."

"Can't I just get a katana and a bow with arrows please…?" Nanami asked, anime tears in her eyes.

"A god must have a powerful divine relic that is suited for their status and domain. For you to take up mortal weapons is an insult for the Gods to take their fragile weapon." Beelzebub said to Nanami.

Nanami's right eyebrow was twitching and Beelzabub's stupidity. "Did you forget, I'm still human? Furthermore, I can not use your weapons until I get better at these skills I need. SO GET ME A DECENT KATANA I CAN USE AS WELL AS A BOW AND ARROWS!"

"That was stupid of you to forget that she's still human, even if she had divinity now," Parvati agreed with Nanami.

"I am just only telling her one of the things a God must have in order to not look weak at the eyes of the other." Beelzebub said to Parvati. "You know as well as I do that Indra is always flocking his Vajra around wherever he goes, showing off his status."

Nanami gave him a flat look at his idiotic stubbornness. "Then I'll get a god of blacksmithing from my religion to forge me weapons so I can get them later… But right now, I can't even lift a divine or cursed weapon right now… Also, I'm going to a Yokai world, a regular katana might just be fine…"

Beelzebub stared at her for sometime, looking at her determined eyes before he sighs and lowers his head. "Fine, here." He brought up his hand, flies started to surround him before he clenched them, causing the flies to disperse. In his hand is revealed to be a katana. "Take this, it's just a regular katana I acquired from a samurai corpse."

Nanami looked at it wearily. "... It's not cursed, is it?"

"No." Beelzebub said to Nanami.

Just in time for the sword to shake, causing a spirit to come out of the blade and had a horrified expression.

"HEEEEEEEEELLLLPPP MEEEEEE!"

The spirit was forcefully pulled by Beelzebub who looked at the soul with a dark smile on his face before lifting his hand and opening his mouth before dropping the soul into his mouth, consuming it. He licked his mouth before shifting his attention back to Nanami. "See? It's not cursed."

Parvati and Nanami gave him a flat, unamused look. "You're useless…" they both told him. An imaginary arrow with the kanji for 'Useless' struck the demon in the chest.

Partavi sighs and pulls out a normal looking Talwar blade. "I know it's not a katana, but a Talwar is close to one in appearance. I'll get you a katana later, one that is blessed by a holy warrior of your land…" She gave Beelzebub the stink eye. She then proceeded to punch him in the gut. "ALSO, SPIT UP THE SPIRIT! THIS IS NOT YOUR JURISDICTION! DO YOU WANT THE GODDESS OF DEATH, IZANAMI, ON YOUR ASS!?"

"T-too late, the soul has already been consumed. There is nothing I can do, besides his sin has already been accounted for. You'll be surprised what he did in life." Beelzebub said to Parvati while hunching over in pain.

Parvati groaned. "Tell me… why did I bring your useless ass along again…?" she asked him rhetorically, another arrow with the same kanji hitting him.

(Path to the Yokai world)

The five were walking down a dark path that led to the land of the supernatural. Both Onkiri and Kotetsu were leading the way. While they were walking, Nanami decided to look at the [Guide] for her new powers with Parvati. She was not letting Beelzebub look, because of his constant screw ups and almost trying to kill her. She even got a [Quest] for it as well.

"There's quite a few things to go over," Nanami stated, looking at the list. "Andx something tells me this will just be added onto later on as I go."

[By figuring out something of [The Gamer],

Your INT and WIZ went up by 1]

"... I'm not sure if powers are mocking me…" Nanami said in a deadpan voice.

"You'll have to get used to it," Parvati said, shrugging.

Nanami sighs."I'll start with the introduction then." She tapped it and a new box appeared.

[Hello, and welcome the newest Gamer of the Multiverse. If you are seeing and reading this, Gaia has selected you to be her champion.]

Nanami gave a deadpan again. "Yeah… I know that already…"

"No need to be snarky, Nanami," Parvati informed, giggling at her reactions.

"You know, I can still-"

"No!" the two girls shouted at the demon. He just grumbled.

[[The Gamer] is a powerful ability, only given to those Gaia deems worthy in her eyes. Across the known multiple parallel universes, realities and worlds, only a select few people are deemed worthy of accessing this power.]

"Then why do I now feel blessed…?" Nanami asked, rhetorically.

[Alright, alright, obligatory impressive speech, over. Now we get to the real matter of your powers.]

[[The Gamer] has the ability to turn repeated actions into [Skills]. It doesn't matter what you can do; be it fire lasers, swing swords, shooting a bow and arrow fly or whatever else. Anything can be turned into [Skills]… even something as mundane as washing the dishes.]

Nanami looked at PArvati when she read that last part. "That can not be an actual skill… [Washing Dishes]… Seriously…?"

[This system will not answer that question.]

Nanami gave another flat look. She then groaned. "Why can't my life be normal…?"

[Anyways, almost uniformly, all aspects of [The Gamer] are invoked verbally, as you have no doubt surmised/figured out by now. You have several pages with information and abilities that you can invoke merely by saying the name of the page you want.]

[First off; the [Status] Page. This displays several things; your Stats and Perks, your current Level and your current HP and MP, as well as your [Flaws], [Special Status], [Attributes and AP], [Inventory] and currently equipped equipment you are holding and wearing.]

[Next up is the [Skills] page. This displays all the skills you have learned, as well as their current level, a small description of what they do and their effects they have on you and the world around you.]

[The [Inventory] can be called on separately as its own page, so you can store items you have collected and auto-equip armor and weapons.]

[The [Perks] page shows you your current Perks and their effects they have on you and people.]

[The [Flaws] page shows you all of the current flaws that you have, and others, as well as their effects, negative and/or otherwise. Try and fix yours.]

[The [Quests] page shows you all the quests you are currently undergoing, as well as looking back at the quests you have completed in the past. Multiple of the same [Quests] can be made sometimes.]

[The [Status Effects] page allows you to see all the buffs and debuffs that have happened to you or others and how to counteract them if need be.]

[And finally; there's the [Reputation] page that shows you your standing with various people, Groups, Clans, Cities, Nations and Other Worlds. I suggest learning this, since you're evolving into a goddess.]

"Gee… I didn't realize that…" Nanami said. "Why is my power so snarky a lot of the time?"

"Just a thing about [The Gamer]," Parvati informed her. "Most of them are like this."

"How do you-?" Nanami started to ask, but then released. "... Nevermind, you're a goddess." She went back to reading.

[There is one final piece to inform you about, [Gamer] that you need to know.]

[Every single person who receives the power of [The Gamer] has had one of three reactions.]

[Path 1; Some choose to try and ignore their power and carry on with their lives as they did before they were granted said power. True me… that never turns out well.]

[Path 2; Some become a force for [Good] or [Evil] using this power. The majority of people who receive this power take this route, although not many survive taking the [Evil] route for some reason… Gee… I wonder why…?]

[Path 3: The final route people choose to go is that of the original and first wielder of this ability: survival.]

[Regardless of which path you choose to walk on your new journey, life as you once knew it is gone, never to return. Although, being a Goddess candidate didn't give your life normalcy to begin with.]

Nanami's eye started to twitch in annoyance. "You could be a bit more sympathetic you know…?"

Parvati rubbed the girl's back to comfort her. "It's okay dear."

[Now, this concludes the introduction. Kindly read the rest of the [Guide] for more detailed information on all that has been mentioned previously. More information will be added as you discover more aspects of your [Gamer] ability like you figured out.]

[All that is left is for me to wish you good luck as the newest chosen [Gamer] of your world.]

[-The Game Master and Original Gamer]

[Han Jihan]

",,, Huh… Guess it was kind of him to give people help with the same power," Nanami stated, surprised that this was given by the first [Gamer].

"Well, he did have to learn by fire, so he wanted to make sure others had an easier time," Parvati explained.

Just then, another notification popped up.

"We're here," Kotetsu informed them all. They made to a place that looked like-

"... Is this a Red Light District…?" Beelzebub questioned, giving a flat look.

"A Yokai Red Light District…" Parvati corrected, giving a flat look as well.

"Master Tomoe!" Onkiri called out.

"Where are you, Master Tomoe!?" Kotetsu called out as well.

"Quite you two…" Tomoe's voice came from one of the doors. "You are making a scene…"

Beelzebub sniffed something that caught his attention somewhere else. He looked at a random location before he turned his head to Nanami. "Excuse but I think I found something that requires my immediate attention. I will not interfere with that filthy mutt. If you ever fail changing that mutt's mind, then I have someone else who can replace that stinky hedonist weakling he is. He'll be best better suited in the circle of lust."

"Huh? W-wait hold o-" Nanami attempted to stop the lord of flies but he just disappeared from her sight in a flock of flies. Nanami groaned. "Just great…"

Parvati facepalmed as well. "What could be so important…?"

"Master Tomoe?" Onkiri asked, as the two wil-o-wisps opened the door.

"Are you in here?" Kotetsu asked.

What they saw was Tomoe was being served hot saki from a geisha hostess, who was a raccoon or tanuki yokai woman, while another Yokai of the same race was hugging him from the back.

"You wanted something?" he asked the two, sounding uncaring.

"Master Tomoe!" Both of them shouted at the familiar in shock.

"How deplorable!" Onkiri scolded him. "You are a familiar in service to a god!"

"Already drinking in the middle of the day, holed up in the red light district!" Kotetsu added to the scolding.

"Leave me alone…" Tomoe ordered, not caring.

"Are you seriously this shallow to not help a new goddess…?" Parvati asked the fox, arms crossed, tapping a finger on her forearm, and a look of unhappy rage at him. "You know that abandoning your master means you're disrespecting the Shinto law. When Amaterasu hears about this-"

"I am not abandoning a master, because that foolish girl is not my master at all," Tomoe started with a stern glare. "And he's the one to abandon me."

The two wil-o-whips were trying to force Tomoe to get his act together, and change back into his normal clothes. "Master Tomoe, you must change immediately!" Onkiri ordered.

"And you, harlots, remove yourselves at once!" Kotetsu ordered the girls.

This did not please the Yokai woman. "What!?" They then proceed to plumber the two shrine spirits. "Such impertinence from will-o'-the wisp children! You two should leave and take the girl with you!"

Tomoe just watched and drank. "Indeed," he agreed with the woman.

Just then a cold rage went over the two women. They looked to see the godly aura of rage coming off Parvati, a strained smile on her face. "A girl am I…!? Do you know who I am and who you are talking to…!?"

"O-oh shit! It's a Goddess!"

"We are sorry my lady!"

"We will take our leave!"

Tomoe waved at them. "You do not need to freat dears, she is a foreign goddess, and therefore has no right to dictate what you should do."

"You forget who I am, Tomoe." Parvati narrows her eyes before grabbing the sake from his hand. "I will tolerate your behavior no more Fox."

BAM!

"ARGH!"

Tomoe held his head in pain when Parvati slammed the sake kettle on his head, causing the contents to spill around him. "Continue with this disrespectful behavior, Susanoo will gladly take your head from your body. Beelzebub is actually right about you, you are a filthy fox mutt who doesn't respect their owners."

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO COMPARE ME TO-"

SHING!

"?!"

Various weapons began to surround him, causing him to sweat. He can sense those weapons are powerful divine relics, not even he can ever have the chance against Parvati. "You know what, I'm done." she dispelled the weapons in thin air. She began to turn her body around and leave the room. "I might as well ask if Beelzebub would be willing to become more loyal familiar for her. Guess I was wrong about you, Mikage will be very disappointed if he ever sees you like this."

"Please Master Tomoe, you have to come back to the shrine with us!" Kotetsu begged him.

"Lady Nanami needs you to be her familiar!" Onkiri informed him.

"Do you not care if the shrine goes to ruin!?" Kotetsu asked.

"No, I do not care in the slightest…" Tomoe said, sounding happy about all this. Nanami who was standing outside had a shocked look on her face. "Good riddance, if you ask me. I no longer have to be a familiar at all. What a tedious job that was. So, from this day forward, I shall ideal each day away, living my life as I please."

"Master Tomoe!" Onkiri cried out.

"We are here for Lady Nanami!" Kotetsu informed him.

"She stated she wished to see you again," Onkiri added.

Nanami then showed herself, a look of displeasure on her face. "So she has come over with us," Kotetsu finished.

"What?" Tomoe asked, shock on his face seeing her.

"I do regret coming, though," Nanami stated, looking at Tomoe in disgust. "You're disgusting. I don't understand how you could just abandon that shine like it was nothing. You're so shellfish!" She went and turned away. "Goodbye! Parvati, we are looking for Beelzebub! Guess he was right about you. I think I might as well get a new familiar, someone who isn't a piss-drunk, sexist filthy mutt like you." The two women left in a huff.

"Ah, Lady Nanai, Lady Parvati!" Kotetsu called out to the two.

Tomoe got in the faces of the two will-o-wisp, anger on his face. "Why did you bring her!?"

"She insisted; we could not deny her!" Onkiri said, scared.

"I do not care what she insisted! Why the hell would you bring a human here!?"

"Lady Nanami is no ordinary human being, though," Kotetsu reminded. "She is a land god. Remember?"

"Which makes it even worse!" Tomoe shouted, getting dressed and going after the two before they got killed from their stupidity.

(With Beelzebub, same time)

"It appears that your pet still hasn't learned its lesson, Mikage. I fail to see and understand why you keep that thing around your shrine." Beelzebub said to Mikage as he stood up at the roof of the building while observing Nanami and Parvati retreating figures.

"That's because you never knew love, Bell~" Mikage teased, giving him his old nickname.

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!" he roared at the god.

"Okay, okay!" Mikage put up his hand and sweated a little from Beelzebub rage. He puts his hand down and sighs a little while watching Tomoe running after her. "But it isn't his fault, I can't go into too much detail at this time, but he lost someone he loved, and had to have his memories erased to save him from dying from a curse."

"I care not about his past or situation. If he continues to act like a spoiled tantrum brat, then you might as well have him become a stray. We do not allow any stray at the shrine."

"Pot meet kettle, have we met?" Sun asked the fly with a smug smile, getting a tick mark on his head for reminiscing him of his own pass with Lucifer.

"Come on, give him another Beelzy(Don't call me that ether…!), I know that Tomoe is not getting along with Nanami but I know he will eventually let her become his master in the future. Trust me."

"You wanted him to be human, I said we should make Nanami a goddess so they can live a long happy life," Gaia interjected, making Mikage deflate.

"That too, but please I am begging you. Give Tomoe one more chance and I promise he will become her familiar in the future."

"And if you're wrong?"

"... Then you can find another familiar for Nanami. I'll deal with Tomoe in the future." Mikage sadly said to the lord of the flies.

"We'll see if the fox can ever be tamed. As I heard before, they prefer to be out in the wild and rather not get into contact with any mortal beings." Beelzebub stated to Mikage. "My daughter would be perfectly suitable as Nanami's companion. She does crave for a friend she desperately seeks for attention to get away from the loneliness. I would love to see my daughter happy."

"Why not let her be her familiar anyways?" Sun and Mikage asked. "She can have more than one."

"Maybe if she ever accepts." Beelzebub said while leaning forward. "Looks like Nanami and Parvati ran into some trouble."

"Are you going to interfere Beely(I told you, don't call me any nicknames!)?"

"Hmmmmmmm, I'll sit this one out. Let's see how this will go."

(With Nanami and Pasrvati)

"How can he even say that after acting so self-righteous to me!?" Nanami asked in anger.

"Once again I am sorry about this Nanami." Parvati apologized to the [Gamer]. "It seems that Beelzebub was right about one thing about Tomoe, he refuses to accept the truth and rather would run away from it rather than dealing with it."

"Well, good riddance to him, then!" Nanami stated, steam coming out of her head. She then ran into something, making her fall backwards into Parvati. "Sorry Parvati."

"Not your fault."

"Hey there, missy," a voice called out to the two, getting their attention. They see three Yokai. The one that spoke to them had one eye and sharp teeth. Another looked like a bird with dark marks over its eyes, which were red. And the last one was a long face yokai, with big ears and a jewel in its forehead. (A/N 3)

"We know you," the bird like Yokai said, looking at Nanami. "You're that human girl they say became the new land god at the Mikage Shrine."

"I heard Mikage quit being a land god and found a replacement but I had no clue that you'd be, so-" the long faced jewel Yokai said, before being interrupted by the first one.

"Delicious and tasty looking," the first one finished, drooling. They looked at Parvati, not knowing she was a Goddess. "And your friend looks just as appetizing as you."

If this had been the normal Nanami, she would be scared out of her mind, but this one was a [Gamer], so wasn't scared and pulled out her sword that was given to her. "Stay back! I have a weapon!" She then realized something, she saw text over the Yokai's heads.

Nanami gulped and asked Parvati in a whisper, "I… Don't suppose I have something over my head, and if so, do you have something reflective I can look to check?"

"Use your sword to do so," Parvati whispered back.

Nanami did so with just a sligh turn to check, and held back a grimace when she did.

"I really should have checked my stats before coming here…" she groaned out.

"What do we have here boys?"

"A little lost mortal who was unlucky to walk into the netherworld."

"Don't worry girl, we can help you out."

Nanami backed away with her hands up while slowly walking backward. "Ah… Parvati… Could I get some help here?"

"Ugh, fine. Close your eyes Nanami." Parvati said to her before she manifested two weapons at her side, one was a mace and the other was a sword.

Nanami closed as she did, darkness clouded her vision but as she did she heard the other Yokais speak in surprise.

"What the-how did she manifest a weapon out of thin air?"

"That smell, oh no. I think we just pissed off the wrong lady!"

"That's not a lady! She's a goddess!"

"Oh shit! Run guys!"

Right when Parvati was about to kill(Massacre) the foolish monsters, the two heard the voices of the two Will-o-wisps. "Lady Nanami! Lady Pasrvati!" They then grabbed the two women and started running off with them.

"Oi! What do you think you're doing?!" Parvati roared to the will-o-wisp while grabbing the one caring her, lifting it as Onkiri became scared when he saw the face of a furious hindu goddess. "I was in the middle of something!"

"B-But Lord Tomoe told us to grab you both and take you back to the shrine immediately," they answered, still scared. "N-Now we must hurry, Lady Parvati. We're already falling behind Kotetsu and Lady Nanami."

"Where do you think you're going!?" the three Yokai shouted, running after Nanami.

Just then, Tomoe walked around a corner, stopping the three Yokai in their tracks. "Lady Parvati, go with that girl, I'll deal with these three-"

BAM!

"SINCE WHEN THE HELL DO YOU GIVING ORDERS FILTHY FOX?!" Parvati shouted at Tomoe while slamming him on the ground with a furious expression. "DIDN'T YOU SAY YOU DID NOT WANT TO BE HER FAMILIAR ANYMORE YET YOU HAVE THE GALL TO EVEN ORDER ME AROUND?! WHO DO YOU THINK I AM YOU SHITTY FOX?!"

Tomoe stood back up and glared at her. "YOU HAVE NO JURISDICTION HERE, PARVATI! SO THAT MAKES ME YOUR SUPERIOR IN THE SHINTO-"

BAM!

"ARGH!"

Again Parvati slammed Tomoe down to the ground but with powerful force causing. "Yell or order me around fox, then you will not meet your end at my blade."

BAM!

"BLERGH!"

Tomoe split blood when Parvati slammed her foot on his body with great pressure, causing the ground below to spread cracks around like a disease. "But also my husband. Trust me, he may be a beneficial god but his anger has no restraint. Got it?"

Tomoe grit his teeth in anger and fury but he cannot do anything because the goddess is way more powerful than he is, if he antagonizes her again, he'll die for real. So when he felt Parvati retreating her foot from his back, he got back up. "Well that girl is going to get herself killed with her foolish actions. This was just something that was bound to happen." Tomoe said though the pain is still flowing through his body from Parvati's kick.

The three Yokai tried to sneak past them to get to Nanami, but stopped when they felt the glares of both Tomoe and Parvati on them. "And where do you think you three are going…?" they both asked, making the three stiffen in fear.

"W-We were just going to go for that tasty girl," the first stated.

"Y-Yeah, we were just-"

SHING!

SHING!

SHING!

KABOOM!

Unfortunately they were cut off when Parvati swung her blade, almost making them into minced meat, and Tomoe exploding them into pieces afterwards.

"A helpless girl with the power of a land god," Tomoe started. "Figuratively speaking, she's like a duck that brought along its own pot and leeks." Tomoe started to walk away. "Not that it is any of my business."

"A duck has feathers and wings who could fly away from its impending doom." They heard a familiar male voice that was near them. Beelzebub entered the area while tapping his cane. "You are far behind from your wisdom fox." Beelzebub mocked Tomoe.

"Where the hell have you been?" Parvati asked Beelzebub, looking irritated at the fly..

"Forgive me Lady Parvati, I was dealing with some urgent matters that were most important requiring my attention." Beelzebub answered Parvati. He tapped his hand on the ground, causing a misfigured demon to clutch onto the dead body parts of the Yokais, before dragging them down into the portal, submerging it before disappearing. "Though I do wonder how long until your arrogance will cost you." Beelzebub said to Tomoe.

Tomoe looked away, looking even more irritated. "I have no clue what you're talking about. Lord Mikage abandoned his home and me. So why should I stay?"

"I am not going to question you about it, Fox. Perhaps if you hadn't noticed she didn't choose to be a goddess and neither did she want to be stuck in the tax debt your god has left behind."

"Tax debt?!" Tomoe shouted in surprise, widening his eyes. "How?! Lord Mikage hired a tax accountant!"

"Didn't you perhaps look into detail before what would happen?" Beelzebub deadpanned at Tomoe.

Tomoe gritted his teeth. "This is just like that idiot… Leaving me to fix his messes…"

"Anyway, we did not come out here of our accord." Beelzebub said to Tomoe, causing him to shift his attention to the lord of flies. "Nanami was the one who wanted to come here and bring you back home. She was persistent until she got to seeing the real you. You destroyed her relationship with you with your own petty ego."

"And you two were foolish to bring an untrained girl to this world," Tomoe stated. "If she was alone, she would be killed by now, by your actions."

"Trying to shift the blame towards us Fox?" Beelzebub retorted back at Tomoe. "I wouldn't be so sure if you keep-"

"Uh…" Onkiri called out, getting the three's attention. "Not to interrupt you three, but Lady Nanami is by herself with only Kotetsu at her side. And they are on the Yokai path to the human world. Who knows what Yokai are out there. And she only has a sword on her to defend with."

A moment of silence passed for the information to sink into the three's heads.

It wasn't until Beelzebub broke the silence. "Just so you know, I blame you if something ever happens to her stinky mutt."

"That's my line, you damn bug!" Tomoe shouted back, the four running to catch up to the two.

(With Nanami and Kotetsu)

"We should be safe this far out, at least I hope so…" Kotetsu stated. "Lady Nanami, you need to listen, you have to go back to Master Tomoe." Nanami looked at the Will-o-wisp. "You must have Master Tomoe become your familiar at all cost!"

"Wrong!" Nanami started, getting up and walking away. "I'll be fine. I'm going back."

Kotetsu ran after her. "But Lady Nanami! If you seal the contract to make Master Tomoe your familiar, Master Tomoe will have no choice but to obey your every command!"

This made Nanami stop and look at him. "My every command? Seriously?"

"Indeed. That is one of the powers you have as a land god."

Nanami had a smug smile on her face. "Oh-ho~ That does sound nice~ So what is it I have to do? To seal the contract, I mean."

"It is simple, my lady. You must take him and then kiss him right on the mouth!" Nanami had a look of dread when she heard that. "When you do so, Master Tomoe will do everything you command~" Kotetsu then looked, and saw that Nanami was gone. "LADY NANAMI!"

Nanami was hiding behind a tree, the look of dread still on her face. 'No way!' she thought. 'Why would he try to get me to do something so horrible!?' She then started running, wanting to get back home. She was done with all this crazy. "I am going back like I said I was gonna go back as fast as I can go!"

"Excuse me, you there, young miss" came the voice of an elderly woman. Nanami looked and saw it was an elderly woman, who looked like she tripped. "Would you mind helping an old lady?"

Nanami was about to when she saw the information over her head.

LV 28

Demon Hag

'... Great… If I hadn't had this I might have walked into a tra-' Nanami started, but was interrupted when she heard Kotetsu calling for her. '... Just great…" she said facepalming. That instance she did, the old woman pulled out a knife and transformed.

"Thank you dear for helping me!" she roared, making Nanami look and see the Yokai woman jumping at her.

"I can't get my sword in time!" Nanami shouted in worry.

Just then, Kotetsu kicked the Yokai in the face, sending her flying. "Lady Nanami, are you okay!? Are you hurt!?"

Just then the Yokai got back up and ran at them. "No time! We need to run!" She grabbed Kotetsu and ran for her life.

"You'll never get away from me!" the old Yokaiu shouted. "Come back here! If I eat land god flesh, I'll live for another thousand years!" She then set out silk to try and capture Nanami.

When she pulled back it turned out she caught Kotetsu somehow. "Kotetsu will taste not so good."

She promptly threw the will-o-wisp away. "I don't want you! I want the girl! Where did she go!?"

Kotetsu landed, and ran to go get help. "Master Tomoe! Lady Parvati! Lord Beelzebub!"

"Crap! What do I do!?" She then noticed something. Three sheets of paper, an ink brush and a note. She read the note while running. "White Talisman? Can only be used with the power I have now. Can't create anything stronger then what I am now!? Okay, think… I have only three that Kotetsu left me, and my sword…"

Just then the Yokai sent out more thread to capture Nanami again. The Yokai thought she got her. "It's time to dine!" She went to bite down, but found out she was biting a log, which Nanami use a talisman on to fool her. This pissed her off breaking the log. "Curse you, girl!"

"Two more…" Nanami muttered. She then wrote on one of them. "Please let this work…"

(Kotetsu)

Kotetsu was running down the path, when he spotted Tomoe, Parvati, Beelzebub and Onkiri. "I found you! Help! Lady Nanami is in danger!"

He was grabbed by Parvati at the head, showing off her furious expression at the will-o-wisp. "I leave her with you two for one moment and she's already in danger?!"

"It is not my fault, Lady Parvati, she was ambushed by a Yokai acting like a frail old woman," Kotetsu informed her.

"So she hasn't been eaten yet," Tomoe stated.

"I was able to give her White Talismans to help her before I was captured and sent flying back," Kotetsu informed.

Just then, one of the talismans flew to the three, Nanami's voice calling out. "Tomoe, Parvati, Beelzebub, help me." It then burnt up when it reached them.

Beelzebub looked up at the sky with a blank voice before he spoke, "It seems she has already taken a bit of grasp of her divine powers." He said while looking at the ashes talisman.

"It'll be fun to watch her cry," Tomoe stated. "An enjoyable show indeed."

BAM!

BAM!

In response, Tomoe was slammed yet again by Beelzebub and Parvati. Both of their fists were smoking as two red bumps appeared above his head.

The two will-o-wisps sighed at their master.

(With Nanami)

Nanami was climbing the tallesyt tree in the area. She would most likely be afraid of being so high up, but [Gamer's Mind] was helping her. "Thank you powers. Now I just need to think of what to use my last talisman on. Make my sword able to cut anything once? Might be to far past my level…"

"Nahahahahaha!" Nanami heard the laughter of the Yokai. "I found you, girlie!"

"Oh come on! Don't you know when to quit!?" Nanami shot back at the Yokai. She then got on a branch and pulled her sword out. The Yokai go on the branch as well, claws at the ready.

"You seem to be having a tough time there," came the voice of none other than Tomoe. She looked to see him, Onkiri and Kotetsu. "I heard you might be in a tight spot, so I rushed over immediately."

"Where the hell are Parvati and Beelzebub?!" She shouted at Tomoe.

A few distance away from them Beelzebub and Parvati observed the situation. One had a blank dull expression and the other had a concerned emotion running through her mind. "Why did you stop me, Beelzebub? Nanami needs our help!"

"In order for her to learn how to become a god, she must learn how to handle the situation herself. We are only, but mere guides and teachers for Nanami, not to be her caretaker." Beelzebub answered Parvati.

"... Do you think he'll actually help her…?" she asked the fly in a dry tone.

"... No, but in desperate times. Mortals always do the unexpected, sometimes unpredictable."

Tomoe was lying on a branch, a sake cup in his hand. "I wanted to enjoy the show."

Nanami's eye twitched in annoyance. She then saw the Yokai jump at her, and stepped aside and hit her, making the Yokai fall off, but they caught another branch..

Just then, Tomoe got in front of her, a smug smile on his face. "Do you want some help, Nanami? Oh, I imagine you must." Nanami gritted her teeth. "If you cry and plead, 'Please forgive this foolish girl, O great Tomoe,' I might be inclined to give you some assistance."

Down at the ground, Parvati was being held back by Beelzebub. "LET ME GO! I'M GOING TO KILL HIM THIS TIME!"

"I'm afraid I cannot." Beelzebub said to Parvati in a calm voice.

Nanami gave him a flat look and answered, "No. Like hell I'd ask you." Just then she slipped and fell off the branch she was on, but was able to catch herself on a branch. Tomoe actually looked worried for her.

"Lady Nanami!" Kotetsu called out in worry.

"Just say it," Onkiri pleaded with her. "'Please forgive-'"

"No way!" Nanami shouted.

"'-this foolish girl-'"

"No way!"

"'-O great Tomoe." Kotetsu finished.

"NO WAY!" Nanami roared.

"You only have to say that one line," Onkiri stated.

"Then he will help you!" Kotetsu stated. He then looked at Tomoe. "Correct, Master Tomoe?"

He looked away, not wanting to show what he was thinking. "Oh yes. Indeed so. Say it, and I will help you. Just say it."

"Lady Nanami! Say the line!" both of the will-o-wisp shouted.

Parvati was now thrashing in Beelzebub's arms. "LET ME GO! I'M GOING TO HELP HER OUT! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOUR REASONING IS!"

"Par-"

BAM!

"-va-"

BAM!

"-ti. Just trust me(Even though you're breaking my bones right now, ow)!"

"No!" Nanami shouted.

"Lady Nanami! Say the line!" the repeated.

"I said no!"

""Lady Nanami!"

The Yokai was climbing up, ready to capture her.

"I won't!" Nanami barked. "There is no way! I'd rather die than bow to him!" She then grabbed Tomoe's leg, and made them both fall. This shocked everyone.

"... Did Nanami just fall on purpose…?" Parvati asked, stopping her struggles in her shock.

By her side, Beelzebub was on the ground, moaning in pain. "I told you to trust Nanami, she has a plan. I'm sure of it." he said while his voice lowered a little due to his face being on the dirt literally.

"BY KILLING HERSELF!?" she roared at the fly.

"Who said she'll die? Take a closer look." Beelzebub said while pointing at Nanami.

"If she diers, I'm sending you back to hell… the painful way…" Parvati stated, in a low dangious tone of voice, actually scaring the fly.

"You stupid girl," Tomoe scolded Nanami. "All you had to say to live was one silly line!~ Now you are going to die because of your foolish pride."

Nanami had a determined look on her face, and grabbed Tomoe, and forced him to kiss her, sealing the master/servant contract.

[Hidden quest complete!

Bind your familiar.]

Nanami broke the kiss, and spoke to Tomoe. "All right, Tomoe. Help me right now, jerk!" she ordered, making golden bracelets from Tomoe wrists, who was in shock.

"Curse you!" Tomoe shouted in horrified anger.

Parvati's jaw dropped. "S-She forced him into a familiar contract by falling…!?"

"I told you, mortals are always unpredictable. They always exceed our expectations." Beelzebub said while still being laid out on the ground.

Tonoe was forced to catch her, saving her.

"Lady Nanami," Onkiri cried alongside Kotetsu.

"With that-" Kotetsu added.

"You have become a true, honest-to-goodness land god!" both cried out. "Congratulations!"

"What the hell, man?" the hag Yokai questioned in confusion. "Let go of my prey!"

Just then, Tomoe summoned fox fire in his hands, and ordered the Yokai in anger, "Get down here… You putrid hag!" He then blasted it, making it fall, and him tying it up. He then proceeded to kick the Yokai in the face. "Because of you, I'm stuck as a familiar again! Right when I had just started enjoying my freedom to the fullest! What do you have to say for yourself, you dirty old harpy!?"

"You're beating a feeble old woman!" she shot back. "What do you have to say for yoursel-!?"

ROAR!

CHUMP!

Unfortunately she was eaten by a demon who was brought forth through a portal above her and dragged her before entering the abyss. The portal disappeared, though Tomoe still had his furious expression and shifted his attention to Beelzebub who had a slight smirk on his face.

"Guess the hunter has become the hunted." Beelzebub said to Tomoe.

"That was mine, you dirty fly!" Tomoe barked. "Because of them! I'm trapped as that girl's familiar!"

"And who's fault was it who fell into a hunters trap? You, a fox who has been hunted by a fox hunter."

Tomoe was about the remark back but was interrupted. "Tomoe," Nanami called out.

"What!?" he asked her, looking atr her with anger.

She was actually smiling at him. "You came for me. Thank you for that." She thanked him honestly, an aura of gratitude over her. Tomoe actually felt something, but did admit it. "Can we go? Back to the shrine, I mean? All of us." She got up.

"I think that's a good idea," Parvati agreed with her. "After everything, you need a break."

The six of them then started heading back to the shrine.

To be continued…

And that's the first chapter. A lot more craziness than the actual show.

Dark: Ahhhhh finally! Nanami has finally reached her footstep to becoming a land goddess!

Indeed. Though flipping the script on her evolving from mortal to a Japanese Land Goddess will take a while.

Dark: Oh yes, it's never easy for one who is on the path of divinity. She'll need all the lessons and guidance the two teachers will offer her.

… But being taught by a devil, really?

Dark: Eh, what does it matter? Beelzebub is also once a Philistine god as well before he was the demon lord of Gluttony, so you could say he has experience of being a god before.

… I just hope he doesn't corrupt her… She is too pure to be tainted…

Dark: He isn't because if he did then Gaia would've smite him alive.

… At least there's that… Anyways, we should end it here.

Dark: Yeah indeed, though she would be having trouble with managing the tax debt Mikage has left her.

(Groan) Let's end it before I get a headache and go there to beat the guy myself… We hope you enjoyed this chapter. If anyone has ideas for this, please feel free to suggest them, they may be added in to bring more comedy in this story.

Dark: Hah! It would be a nightmare for her to deal with.

Nothing she doesn't deal with in cannon. And with that, see you next chapter.

Dark: You too. It is time for me to head back to my worshippers! They have been praying me for something they dearly wanted me to do.

What's that?

Dark: CLIFFHANGER!

Please R&R.
