CHAPTER 4: GWERDYN

Bracken turned to Kendra, and smiled, gently holding her hand. "Remember the Kendra Sorenson that killed Gorgog for us, and freed father? This is Kendra, except for now she is not fairykind, she's the most powerful fairy in the world. "We owe all our thanks for getting free to Kendra," he said motioning to her, "she set me free, for the third time." Lizelle came and embraced her fiercely. "Bracken has told me so much about you, Kens," she said. "I'm sure we'll become close friends."

"We will, Lizelle," she greeted smiling, "And, by the way, you're the fastest warrior I've ever seen. No wonder you're the leader of the fairy armies! I'm planning to have the rebellion today, and we will need your princess-warrior skills." Lizelle smiled in pleasure at this compliment. "I hate to break up your conversation," Bracken said, "but don't we need to get to Mother's cell?" Kendra. "You're right! Eurora is contacting me right now, saying…" she listened intently, "she says that she is at the Fairy Queen's cell and for us to meet her there."

She looked at their confused expressions. "What?" she asked, wondering why they were looking at her like that. "Who is Eurora?" Bracken finally asked. "Oh," she laughed, amused. "Eurora, is one of my close friends, also known as the Elderfairy." At this their eyes widened. "You befriended the Elderfairy?" Lizelle gaped. "She's like, one of the legendary heroes of the Fairy Realm. It's an honor to even see her!" Bracken was looking at her with similar astonishment.

Kendra grinned, "You'll be even more surprised when I tell you my identity. Right now, we need to get to Queen Molea's cell." The cell wasn't far from here, with Bracken and Lizelle leading the way, and creating shortcuts. They finally reached the cell, and unlocked it. They entered and saw that Eurora was trying to revive the unconscious Queen while Midnight and Ivory helped lend her energy. Seeing Bracken, and Lizelle, Midnight and Ivory leapt and embraced them. Kendra immediately knelt by the fallen Queen and pressed her hand against the Queen's forehead. Her cuts, scrapes, and bruises began to heal immediately. She murmured a few words under her breath, and the Queen was back to normal. Then Kendra whispered,

"Wake up, your Majesty." The Queen awoke with a start, gazing at the people around her, alert. "Am I dreaming?" she asked, gazing at her children in awe. Her children ran to her. "Mother!" wept Ivory, hugging her. "We tried so hard to revive you, and if Kendra hadn't been here, it would have been impossible!" The name Kendra alerted the Queen's attention. "Kendra is here?" she asked, looking around for her. Kendra stepped forwards and knelt, embracing the Queen warmly. "I'm Kendra," she said, smiling at the astonished expression on the Queen's face. "How are you a fairy?" the Fairy Queen asked incomprehensibly. Kendra smiled even wider. "I think it's time to let you in on a secret." Her face turned serious. "Nobody but you all should know."

"Before, in the days where the magical world prospered, there were 5 different siblings, all born to a unique and great woman named Gwerdyn, or also known as the Bright Guardian.

At this her audience choked. "The Bright Guardian!" Midnight gasped. Kendra nodded solemnly and continued her story. She gave names to them, royal names, and gave them the titles, Fairy Monarch, Dragon Monarch, Underking, Demon Monarch, and Giant Monarch. At that time, where she lived a great evil, named Malderoat arose. Painfully, forced by Malderoat, she was required to remove all the memories from her children, and with her final ounce of power, bestowed upon them the feeling of unity.

This sacrifice of her power led to her death when Malderoat found out days later. As she was executed she whispered a curse on Malderoat, which forced him to flee. The curse was, "may an innocent be bestowed with my power, known as the Light Guardian, and be the cause of my rival's demise." Over time, the descendants of Gwerdyn, inherited their powers, and continued their rule. The feeling of unity Gwerdyn has bestowed upon the original monarchs did not continue with the descendants. And no one, no innocent was found to continue as the Light Guardian. This changed until today.

Suddenly, a light emanated from where they were sitting and a ring appeared on Kendra's hand, flashing with blue light. Her eyes widened. "Gwerdyn," she exclaimed, shocked as she saw an image forming before her of a woman, a gorgeous woman, that looked like a goddess, cloaked with purple and glowing with power. Her strikingly lovely red hair went to her thighs. Her eyes instilled beauty and courage as Kendra gazed upon the woman that she was supposed to avenge. At her exclamation, the woman's lips curved into a smile. "That is right, my dear," she said, swirling in her purple robes.

"As you know, you are my successor, my avenger, and rival to Malderoat. You, Kendra were chosen out of all of the humans, magical or not, to avenge me. You are the most powerfulest person in the world, and no one is in comparison to you. That is why I am giving you a quest, a new prophecy, a sequel to the one you have received. I will come to you again, Kendra, but now aid my daughter, fulfill my 1st prophecy, and return her kingdom, from my kin, a unicorn. Remember Kendra, deal with forgiveness and do not severely punish Ronodin, there is someone in control of him. His actions are not his own. Be courageous, and use your wisdom, and good heart to guide your actions, my avenger.

Her hand went forward and pressed the image, cutting the connection. Kendra was kneeling, her face very pale and shocked as she relieved the message.
