CHAPTER 5: UNION HEADQUARTERS

Finally, the Fairy Queen found the ability to speak, as she had been speechless. "Was that the Bright Guardian," she asked, faintly. Eurora smiled, and kneeling turned to Kendra. "Hail, Kendra Sorenson, Lady and Protector of the Fairy Realm, Light Guardian, Successor to Gwerdyn, and rival to her evil archenemy Malderoat. The others followed her lead quickly. Kendra swirled around, her silver cloak, glowing. "Rise, my dear friends," she said smiling. She hugged Eurora warmly, then turned to the Royal family and hugged them one by one.

Finally she reached Bracken. She hugged him, pressing her cheek against his chest softly.

She stood regally. "My friends, my first duty is to the Fairy Realm and the kingdom's rulers. I will do anything, anything to save the Fairy Realm from Ronodin, this is my priority. As you heard Gwerdyn say, I do have a new quest after this one. That doesn't mean that I am not the Fairy Realm's Guardian. I will still be here to help." They looked relieved at that comment.

"Now, I have some vital information you didn't know. First, all light creatures have their authority as the Fairy Queen or King, and the Monarchs are in control of their subjects. This applies to all light creatures, with a special exception to Unicorns. Many unicorns, unbeknownst to Ronodin, are creating a rebellion in a secret room named Union Headquarters. We could use their help, so we should travel there first."

The Fairy Queen's face glowed. "Those loyal unicorns used the Union Headquarters!"

Ivory grinned. "Let's go there right now. Our kin will be overjoyed to see that we've escaped. "Follow me," Kendra said, her eyes sparkling. She navigated through the Fairy Realm until she reached a grand room. Backing into a corner, she let her hand drift, and she whispered, "Ronodin is our trouble," and an invisible staircase appeared. She looked back at them. "Just say Ronodin is our trouble and a staircase will appear." They did as she said, and as they walked down the staircase, Kendra sensed a familiar light energy coming from the bottom of the stairs.

Finally, they reached a door. The Fairy Queen stepped forward and said a string of magical words that caused the door to open suddenly. A unicorn stepped forwards, and knelt, seeing the Fairy Queen and her family. "Your Majesty," he said, astonished at their arrival. "How are you here?" Molea smiled. "It is a long story, Oliver. My guests will tell it in a moment. May we enter?" He bowed and allowed them entry immediately. "Of course, your highness." His voice turned formal.

"Announcing the arrival of our Queen, Molea, rightful heir to the kingdom of the Fairy Realm, and the royal family… along with-" his eyes widened in shock as he saw Eurora. "-our former Queen the Elderfairy, and…" he froze, seeing Kendra. "The Light Guardian," she supplied. His eyes widened further. "This is a long story," he marveled, kneeling. "And the Light Guardian." At this, murmuration increased and unicorns raced to welcome the royal guests. They entered the Union Headquarters, which was a beautiful garden, filled with lush and beautiful fruits, vegetables, and flowers of every kind. Rivers flowed and waterfalls rushed down, a torrent down to a crystal lake.

As the unicorns gathered, Kendra gazed at the Headquarters, feeling an overwhelming calm fill her. Finally, all the Unicorns were gathered, and on alert. Kendra turned into her fairy form, startling the unicorns with her beauty and power. She could feel Bracken's eyes on her, and she felt peaceful and focused. Her voice carried over the startled and murmuring unicorns. "Unicorns, and rightful citizens of your kingdom the Fairy Realm, I am Kendra Sorenson, former fairykind, and now as you know the Light Guardian.

I am here to help you with a quest of utmost importance: the return of the Fairy Realm, which was overrun by your kin, the evil unicorn Ronodin.

The unicorns muttered in shock as they listened to her with rapt attention.

The details of my coming are to remain secret and not known to anyone but light creatures, and I believe all of you are trustworthy, and deserving of knowing this serious secret. For further protection, I will relieve my memories of this incident by mental telepathy.

Focusing on her memories of her induction as a Light Guardian, and the message given to her by Gwerdyn, she projected it to everyone that was in this room.

Then after every last unicorn viewed her thoughts there was an intense silence in which the unicorns knelt in respect, their eyes amazed and triumphant. Then a tremendous cheering started as the unicorns stood up and chanted, "Long Live the Queen, Long Live the Light Guardian!" Kendra glowed with pride and kneeling, she produced a crystal glowing and flashing with a brilliant light. Throwing it in the air, she said, "This is a token of my love for you all, and my determination to help the Fairy Realm. It will heal you, fill you with energy, and heighten your courage!"

Also, most of all, to any deserving person, it will grant a wish, if the wish is filled with true and right intentions." She blew a kiss to the gathered unicorns and dismissed them, then turned to her friends. "Well, where else should we go next?" "Let's visit Fablehaven, and gather help from the fairies," Eurora suggested. The Fairy Queen nodded. "As we go there, we will be able to free all the fairies from Ronodin's hold on them.

Kendra gasped quietly, remembering. "I apologize Molea, I was going to give you a gift when we freed you from the cell. Please kneel." The Fairy Queen knelt hesitantly, wondering what the gift was. Kendra gently placed a familiar circlet upon the Fairy Queens' brow. Grinning, she said, "Feel more energized?" The Fairy Queen's eyes were round with shock. "Kendra this is amazing," she whispered astonished.

Lizelle gasped. "Mother, you have more power than you've ever had, even when you were the Fairy Queen!" The Fairy Queen turned to Kendra and smiled, embracing her. "Thank you Kendra for everything. We are forever indebted to you, my dear." Kendra smiled. "Oh, it's nothing," she said.

Bracken joined the conversation, "How about we go to Fablehaven now?" They agreed.

"You need to conserve your energy, my dear, so I will transport us to the Fablevan shrine." After a sensation of traveling through the world, they appeared in Fablehaven.

But Fablehaven wasn't Fablehaven anymore…
