Hey everybird! What's up!?
Now before we begin, I do have something important to say…
Recently I had someone constantly spamming the same comment over and over again, not going to say who, you know who you are! The comment kept telling me a request for a story for a fandom I'm not even a part of and have little knowledge of…
Now I will say that I really don't take requests in the first place, rarely do I and it's only when I really know what I'm getting into and the person doing the request is someone who I really know and is being nice about it. A good example is actually the most recent lemon I did for Tomada The Falcon, who actually massaged me directly and we talked over it and I had a good idea for it.
To sum it up… Please do not use my stories to spam the same comment over and over again if you're not even going to bother reading the actual story!
With that out of the way, lets get on with it!
Chapter 3: First Gift of Christmas
Coming closer to where Santa would stand before everyone, his sleigh with the team of reindeer came out first, the big and strong animals all excited as they pranced and paced, ringing shiny silver bells which hung from their harnesses… Only I didn't hear them… At first I thought it was because I couldn't due to all the shouting elves crowding the area, but no… I couldn't hear what I would assume to be a wonderful sound…
Soon enough, Santa himself came out, but I couldn't quite see him through the elves, who actually started to stand on top of each other, blocking my view. I could only catch quick glimpses of the big and jolly bird as I struggled to see…
"He's here, he's here!" The light blue feathered girl shouted with joy.
"Where!?" I shouted back.
"Right there!" Another kid pointed out.
"I can't see him, I can't see him!" I repeated, thinking maybe this was after all a dream, but then my eyes were brought back to the reindeer, who continued to jump up and down, their bells moving along with their movements.
As I turned my complete attention towards the animals, I saw one of the bells come loose from the harnesses, flying up through the air, my gaze going up and following the little object as it came back down to the ground before rolling exactly in front of me. Looking for a few seconds at it in disbelief, I bent down and picked it up, my eyes wide open as something changed in me…
"Okay…" I said in a whisper. "I believe… I believe…" I said before closing my eyes and bringing the bell to my ear as I rung it…
And to my total surprise, it made a sound… a magical and beautiful sound that I have never before heard in my life. However I couldn't think on that for long as in the reflection of the shiny clean metal there was a face I thought never existed… The face of Santa…
Slowly turning my head around, there he was… a face which radiated joy and happiness, a face which every kid would one day hope to see with his or her own eyes…
"What was that you said?" He asked me with a deep, but benevolent voice.
"I believe…" I answered, looking to my sides to see that everyone, the elves, other kids, and conductor, were all looking to the two of us. "I believe… I believe this is your's…" I held out the bell for Santa to take as he did so.
"Well thank you." Santa told me.
"Me, me, Santa, I want the first gift!" Another kid called out.
"Quiet!" The light blue feathered girl kept telling him.
"Young man, patience and a little humility will help you." Santa advised.
"Yes sir." The kid understanding and being quiet.
"And you young lady, lady of decision, full of confidence and spirit, Chirstmas spirit." Santa chuckled a bit. "Keep up the good work." Santa urged the girl as he continued on.
"And speaking of Christmas spirit…!" Santa raising his voice to be heard throughout the crowd of elves. "Let's have this fellow here." He gestured to me as I hung my beak wide open, unable to believe that Santa would pick me, someone who didn't even believe in him just a few minutes ago…
Santa walked back to his sleigh as I was led by some elves to him, Santa taking his seat and patting the spot in the sleigh next to him. I took a deep breath and came, standing up in the sleigh as Santa, sitting down still stood taller than me.
"Now, what would you like for Christmas?" He asked me.
"Me?" Still not believing it as well I could pick anything from the huge bag just behind us, but well what I want wasn't in that bag.
"You." Santa confirmed as I silently motioned that I wanted to whisper it in his ear as I gave my answer.
"Yes, indeed…" Santa said softly. "Yes indeed." He spoke a bit louder as I finished and Santa had a huge smile on his face before reaching into his pocket and taking out the silver bell which came to me before.
"The first gift of Christmas!" Santa shouted out his loudest of the night to everyone, holding the bell high over his head as the elves cheered in approval as Santa then bent down to me, looking directly into my eyes. "This bell is a wonderful symbol of Christmas, as am I." Santa gave a chuckle before continuing. "Just remember, the true spirit of Christmas lies in your heart." Santa then gently taking my wing before placing the bell, my gift, into it.
The moment was disturbed however when the clocktower from where Santa first came out rang as it showed it was exactly midnight, the time that Santa is supposed to depart for his trip around the world to deliver presents.
"Merry Christmas." Santa told me before I needed to leave as I was met by the conductor.
"Better keep that in a safe place." The conductor reminded me as I put the bell into my bathrobe pocket.
As I stepped off Santa's sleigh, Santa readied for his trip as he gave a mighty laugh before calling out each of the reindeer's names and cracking his whip. At first it seemed the reindeer would be unable to lift the heavy sleigh into the air, but within a few seconds, the team animals proved they were very strong as the sleigh was soon enough flying through the air effortlessly.
Santa circled above us a couple of times, even flew low enough right over our heads that we ducked down just in case before lifting back up into the sky and then disappearing in a flash of light. As sparkles of magic rained down upon us and the elves, the elves themselves gave a cheer, knowing it was going to be another successful Christmas run for Santa.
"All abroad!" The conductor shouted as the Polar Express blew its whistle, ready to take us back home where we belonged.
Boarding the train, I was still filled with a happiness that I never thought I could have as all the kids gathered around me, eager to see the silver bell which was my gift.
"Lets see the bell!" All the kids requested of me as I began to reach into my bathrobe pocket which held the magical item…
Only it wasn't there… I was instead greeted with a hole in my pocket, I lost the bell, the first gift of Christmas and at that moment all my joy and happiness sank.
"It's gone… I lost it…" I sadly informed everyone.
"Don't worry!" One kid told me. "We'll find it!"
"Yeah, all of us!" Another pitched in.
"Come on, let's hurry outside and look for it." The light blue feathered girl told me as the kids started to leave as I still sat in my seat, unable to move.
Not that it would matter anyway as the Polar Express gave a sudden lurch and began moving, circling around the giant tree at the center of the North Pole, the elves having cleared a path for the train as we began the journey to go back home…
And that's a wrap on this chapter! Probably the chapter you all were looking froward to!
Next time will be the last chapter of this short story! Hope you all have been enjoying this year's Christmas tale and with that…
See everybird later!
