The following crossover was inspired by the Rooster Teeth web series 'RWBY' and gamerag3's 'Godzilla Female Personification Project' over on DeviantArt.
It also takes heavy inspiration from the fanfic 'Monsters of Remnant' written by FanFictionReader12.
RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth while Godzilla belongs to Toho. I only own the Original Characters that will appear in this fanfic.
And NO, not every Kaiju in this fanfic will be just female. I plan on adding some male Kaiju into the mix as well. I'm taking the concept that gamerag3 started and rolling with it.
Story will be rated M for there will be some blood and gore in this story on a later date.
Now, enough chit-chat onto the story, enjoy.
-The Rumbling of Remnant-
-Chapter 1-
What separates a man from a monster?
Black icy waves continue to wash over her body as she clings onto the piece of wooden ship hull for dear life. But it was all she could do at the moment. And with each minute that passed it was becoming harder and harder to do so.
Is it how he holds himself? The way he looks?
Her body ached. And her mind was fading fast with how cold it was. She had been out there for what had to be at least three hours. With nothing but her clothes on her back and her white cape and hood.
What about his personality? His friends?
Was this it? Was she really going to die out here? Before she saw her daughter turn three years old?
None of that matters to a monster. A monster cares nothing for such things.
No. She didn't want to give up yet. Not yet! Not until she knew for a fact that it was really over for her!
In the end, monsters are tragic beings indeed.
~ROOAR!~
She froze at the sound. She knew it! It was still close by!
They are born too tall.
She zipped her head over to the source of the sound. A large, whale-like tail splashed in against the waves not even a few hundred yards from her location.
It was charging at her!
Too heavy.
She could see them from where she was. Those glowing crimson eyes that burned like fire. It's white skull-plate illuminated in the dark under the shattered moon.
Fear gripped her heart and tears started to fill her eyes as she finally came to realize that she was going to die too night.
And there was nothing she could do to prevent it.
Too powerful.
She closed her eyes and waited as she began to weep in despair.
For in the end… she had broken her promise with her family that she would return home.
And that… that burnt more than any pain she was about to experience as the monster grew closer and closer, jagged tooth maw wide open to eat and kill her in one blow.
However…
KRA-KOOM!
The sound made her jump in surprise, and she opened her eyes to see the monster's upper head blown clean off by the large explosion. As the rest of its body falls limp and begins to fade into a black mist.
The question that should be asked is this…
Her head turns to where the blast came from. Only for her head to drift upward at the large metal ship looming over her as it displaces the water, cruising past her less than ten yards away.
As she looked upon the large ship, she saw movement on the deck. Too weak to make any sound at the moment, as she could do was wave her arm at the ship, hoping those on the deck would see her in the darkness of the night sea.
How far will the man go before he becomes a monster?
Within a minute of waving her arm, a thick rope splashed down within a few feet of her. Calling upon the last reserves of her strength, she swam to the rope and grabbed onto it with all her might.
Within seconds, she is pulled close to the ship and a few moments later she is hulled onboard where she plops to the deck, breathing in and out heavily.
For the line between a man and a monster is a very blurred one.
With the last bits of her remaining strength leaving her finally, she turned her head to the side so she could at least look up at the ones who saved her.
The last thing her silver eyes saw was a pair of burning orange eyes staring back down at her.
Then, all she saw next was darkness.
One that is becoming harder to distinguish every day.

-Thirteen Years Later.
-Beacon Tower, Kingdom of Vale
It had been almost three weeks since the Initiation Test happened, and the new teams were formed. And headmaster Frank Ozpin was busy pouring over his work and going over the list of names of the new teams established.
When a particular name popped up on her screens, he paused and stared at the information for a moment. The name and picture were of young Ruby Rose, leader of the newly established Team RWBY.
He smiled.
"Summer…" he said quietly to himself, "Your daughter is doing fine. And I am positive that she will go far in the world, just watch…"
Before he could contemplate the thought any further, a call came in. He switched the screens over and saw the one trying to contact him was James Ironwood, general of the Kingdom of Atlas's military.
Surprised to get an unexpected call from the fellow headmaster, Ozpin quickly answered.
"Hello James, is everything alright?" he asked.
"Ozpin, I'm glad I caught you." Ironwood said, "We have a situation."
Narrowing his eyes slowly, Ozpin grew concerned, "What kind of situation?"
"An unusual kind of situation." the general explained, "One that needs both the attention of all the headmasters of the academies on Remnant and from the Kingdoms respected council members."
Ozpin raised an eyebrow at the statement as he continued to listen.
"About an hour ago, we received a transmission… from the dark continent of Fafnir."
The headmaster of Beacon Academy could feel the blood in his veins turn to ice.
"James… are you saying…"
"We confirmed it's not a ghost signal. The energy level and the clarity of the signal indicates its coming from a Cross Continental Tower." Ironwood said, pulling up a screen to show Ozpin where it was exactly.
Ozpin felt his mouth dry out.
It was coming from the very center of the continent. The spot on the map blinking in and out in a reddish hue. Now Ozpin was fully listening to his friend and waited for more information.
"What was the transmission exactly?" he asked finally.
Ironwood pressed some buttons on his end and another screen popped up on Ozpin's left. It was a voice message. And Ozpin pressed on the screen and listened as the message played. The voice that came was a deep, growling, and commanding voice that reminded Ozpin of a ruler or king from ancient times.
"~This is Gojira Finex, King of Kaiju and King of the Kingdom of Zoe. As of today, we would like to open diplomatic talks with our fellow kingdoms. And we like to have representatives from all four kingdoms meet us on our own land at our newly built Cross Continental Tower. And our newly established Orien Academy. We will be waiting for your response. Out.~"
When the message ended, Ozpin had many questions going through his mind as he processed what he had just heard.
One hundred years.
It had been over one hundred years since the race of Kaiju had vanished from the public eye that nowadays most think of them as just another tall tale of Remnant. A myth to demonize the race of Faunus even further.
But Ozpin, his secret brotherhood, and historians knew the truth.
And this was a huge turn of events.
The headmaster looked back to his friend, "Who else knows about this?" he asked.
"The council members of all four kingdoms and the other two headmasters." James then let out a sign, "Sadly, Jacques Schnee will also be joining us as well."
Hearing this, Ozpin could already feel the headaches coming.
"Has the meeting started already?" the Beacon headmaster questioned.
"Yes, we're just waiting on you Oz." came the reply.
Nodding Ozpin readied himself for the onslaught of arguments that were sure to come when he entered the group call between all the councilors of Remnant.
Within the second of joining the call, the yelling had already started.
"-et again, you fail to see the bigger picture here, Mr. Schnee!"
"Failing to see the bigger picture?! Don't make me laugh! It must be a fake signal! Everyone knows that 'Kaiju' are just a myth!"
"You of all people should know that beyond every bit of logic lies a bit of truth!"
"Please! Are we honestly going to have these 'Man-eaters' join the world stage?! I'd say forget the signal and ignore these freaks!"
"Oh nice, when exactly did they become 'Freaks', Jacq?!"
"Everyone, please! Enough!"
Ozpin decided to play the calm and controlled card and simply say, "Hello everyone, sorry I am late to this meeting."
A sigh came from Mr. Schnee, "Thank you for joining us, Professor Ozpin." he said lazily.
"Thank you for coming on such short notice, Ozpin." the headmaster of Shade Academy added.
"I take it you know 'what' this is all about?" a councilor from Mistral asked.
Ozpin nodded, "Our new… acquaintances from Fafnir. Yes?" he said calmly.
All of them nodded.
"What do you say, Professor Ozpin?" a member of the Vale council said carefully, "Do we go and meet these strangers? And if yes, how exactly do we do it?"
Ozpin is quiet for a moment as he contemplates the situation as Professor Lionheart spoke up.
"Yes Oz, what exactly do we do?" the lion Faunus asked.
"Here's my opinion." an annoyed Jacques Schnee said aloud, "From what little record is left about the Kaiju depicts them as vicious and dangerous beasts. The proclaimed 'Man-eaters'."
"That is hardly fair Jacq. I'd say we give them a chance." a female council member from Vale said.
"I have a question," another member of Vale said aloud, "What exactly are Kaiju? This is the first time I have heard of them."
Ozpin sighed before he tapped some buttons on his desk and a screen popped up with images of wall paintings and one very old photo of a Kaiju with some text written on the side panel.
"Kaiju," he began, "in the most basic sense are very much like the Faunus of our world. Only, in their case, their animal traits are more drastic in scope. Having large batlike wings, long, powerful tails, and most important of all is their sheer size. An average Kaiju can grow to be over twenty feet tall at the most. They are literally giants compared to Humans and Faunus." he paused for a moment to let all this sink in before continuing, "But the most important thing that makes them different from both Humans and Faunus alike is their Auras."
"Their Auras? What do you mean?" asked a council member from Atlas.
Ozpin adjusted his glasses, "We are not fully sure how it works, but unlike Humans and Faunus, who's Auras act like shields in a most basic sense, Kaiju Auras act more like… a blade of sorts. It is said that one Kaiju is more than enough to take on a whole herd of Grimm Goliaths by themselves."
Silence ensues as everyone present talks among themselves. That is until Ozpin regains their attention.
"They are offering us an olive branch here; we cannot afford to burn it. I say we meet them at their newly built Academy and see for ourselves how we should tread forward." he finished.
"I'm not sure about this, Professor Ozpin." Mr. Schnee said finally, "What could we possibly gain from meeting and opening talks with them?"
For once it was a sound question, but Ozpin had the perfect thing to reel in Jacq to convince him and the others who did not care more about the almighty dollar.
"Well, rumors have always spoken of large veins of Dust mines being untapped on the dark continent for centuries. And on top of that, think of all the territory we could reclaim from the Grimm if we had the Kaiju as allies."
After a moment of silence, many of the people present nodded in agreement to Ozpin's words. He smiled, "Good."
He turned to James, "Ironwood, please send a message to our upcoming hosts that we shall be there within a week. We need some time to get ready to meet them."
"Right away." James responded before clicking off the screen.
Ozpin turned back to the others in the group call, we will depart from Vale within the week. I'll be waiting for you all to arrive."
"We'll see you then, Ozpin." Lionheart said before clicking off himself.
One by one, the others said their farewells and Ozpin was once more alone in his office. He stood up and walked over to the window to the tower that overlooked Beacon as a whole.
He knew he had to bring some of the student body as escorts. The question was: who was he going to bring with them?
But he simply smiled at the thought. He knew that one particular team had to come with them. A certain first year team that just established itself less than three weeks ago.
He chuckled as he thought to himself.
'This is going to be an interesting trip for them.'
~o0o~
"My King, we have received a reply from the other kingdoms. They say they will arrive within a week from now. They need time to prepare themselves, or so they say."
"Thank you, Mosura. You may go. And prepare for their arrival."
"Understood, my King."
