Star Adventure Part 1
[Deep Space : 08/01/1995]
Unknown time
In space a furious clash between two beams of light in the middle of the void, one was bright blue, while the other was a dark half-corrupted gold.
The two beams of light were two men, wearing similar uniforms, the one emitting blue energy wore a very dark blue suit, with three golden spheres on the chest, a golden helmet with a red star on the forehead.
The one emitting corrupted golden energy wore the same suit, but with a dark purple uniform and identical helmet, both battled as if they were rockets flying through space.
"Give up Rider!!, someone like you will never stop me!!" The Man in Purple said as he landed yet another punch with the man named Rider.
"How could you betray Corps like that Garthan!!, you were one of the best of us!!" Rider said as he tried to punch Garthan Saal.
"Make no mistake, I'm still the best Nova in the entire galaxy!!, and there's nothing those Watchers can say to prove otherwise, which is why I deserve more power." He then landed an energy blast on Rider's chest.
"Goodbye Richard!!, you were a great partner, too bad your blindness prevents you from allying with me." He then took out something resembling a sphere.
The sphere had circuits in a circular shape and they glowed, and then behind Richard Rider a portal opened and he ended up being sucked in.
After that, Garthan Saal went on his way wherever he went.

09:23 A.M.
Flying through the skies over New York City modernized by STAR Lab's efforts was the Man of Tomorrow, he was on his routine patrol and so far everything was running normally.
"I think it's going to be a quiet day." He said.
But then a portal opened above the Empire State, he sighed heavily, but soon flew towards the event.
The portal closed before he arrived, but he saw a man in some kind of uniform falling, he looked unconscious so Superman quickly went to his aid.
He managed to reach the man and caught him as they fell, as he caught the man he noticed that the materials in his suit were strange, as if they weren't anything physical.
"Damn...where, where am I?" He started out a little groggy.
"Well, you are in Manhattan, New York, United States." Superman replied.
"What?!, damn the bastard, hesent me as far away as possible." He said as he tried to get free.
"Sir, you came out of a portal unconscious, from my experience that should mean something important, please talk to me." Superman asked trying to calm him down.
The two then went to a building and stood on its roof, where they started talking.
"Look, I'm an earthling, my name is Richard Rider, exactly two years ago I was recruited by a galactic peace order, the Nova Corps, created by the oldest race in the universe, the Watchers, they are responsible for well... everything and to keep order they created these helmets that give us access to the Nova Force." Richard explained briefly.
"But six months ago my former mentor and partner, Garthan Saal, figured out a way to sever his connection to the Watchers, taking full power over his helm, and now he's going after a new weapon he ordered." Richard clenched his fists as he reported.
"I see, and he could become a serious threat to the rest of the galaxy if he continues his plans, if you'll allow me I'd like to help." Superman said placing his hand on Richard's shoulder.
The Nova nodded and then remembered something.
"My helmet needs charging a little, is there a ship that can travel through space?, I can manage from there." Nova asked.
Superman just smiled remembering a recently completed and tested project.

10:01 A.M.
Superman took Nova to where they kept the Javelin, the spacecraft project in conjunction with Project Pegasus, had been tested and was ready to begin its mission to Mars.
But Superman took the other model of the pair that had been assembled, and let Nova drive as he knew the way to enter Hyperspace, a way known to all races to travel great distances.
Soon they were already off Earth, and then Superman was faced with something incredible, a pentagram opened in space in front of them, and then they entered the event horizon.
Everything around was just a mix of colors, passing by so fast that even Superman with his enhanced vision couldn't keep up, so they were somewhere else in space.
But what caught Calvin's attention the most was the huge space base that was in front of them, it was simply huge and even bigger than Earth, with hundreds of ships coming in and out.
"Incredible, I didn't expect Earth's technology to have advanced so much, but I think with alien technology it makes the process easier." Nova said as he pressed some buttons.
"Like this?" Superman asked smiling.
"Make no mistake, even though I was never a brilliant student, I've studied some races across the universe, and the helmet has a huge database with access to the knowledge of the Watchers, and you match the description of Kryptonians, minus the part about fly of course." Nova said.
"That's subjective, I was raised on Earth, that makes me as earthling as you are." Superman said smiling.
"Maybe, I haven't been back to Earth for two years, the galaxy has been very complicated lately." Nova said as they entered the massive space base.
"Where do we have to go? It's your job so I'm going to have to trust you on that one." Superman said as they walked around the huge base.
"Have you ever had contact with other species before?" Nova was confused.
"Well yes two, the Collector and a guy named Lobo." Superman said which shocked Nova.
"Okay, that's a bad way to get to know other races, but don't worry, most individuals are more peaceful than you might think." Just as Nova said that a huge explosion sent everyone in a bar flying away.
"Are you sure about this?" Superman asked.
"Listen worms for the Great Xemnu, the Living Hulk speaks!!, and I challenge anyone to a battle, otherwise this whole season will turn to dust!!" A huge monster covered in white fur, wearing a petticoat and a belt said, drawing everyone's attention.
"Sorry what were you saying?" Superman said as he looked at Nova who was rubbing his face covered by the helmet.

Many would think that why Watchers are involved and why Nova Corps are like Green Lantern Corps well here is your answer -
Author kind of took advantage of a loophole, because it doesn't make much sense for Nova Corp to be an army of an empire,but to serve as a space police force, better to use the Watchers who do almost nothing and put them to work.
