Chapter 1 Redux: Disturbance In The Universe
Fate's plans are often unforgiving, traumatize this kid, break this man's leg. Kill the Wit calamity stone user, but sometimes, a person's heart is too big for their own good. This is one of those times, Heart had a too big of a heart (ironic I know) for their own good and took the price for it. This is the story of the consequences from that act. You may have already read this story before, but that story was following a bad set path and had no plans at all. This one though, this one has a semblance of a plan at least. Time has been rewound and ready to begin, the question is: Are You?
"Well, this is bad." Marcy thought to herself as she changed the Music Box's configuration to Earth, LA, behind her Anne fights Andrias in a very anime-esque battle, "Not only did they learn that I lied to them, I also learned that ANDRIAS lied to me about how he would use The Music Box, freaking great. Now I have to make a portal for them to leave and make sure that Andrias never gets his slimy giant hands on The Box again." Marcy continued to rant to herself while finishing the portal's configurations, meanwhile behind her the battle was finishing up.
Sprig quickly ran towards Anne after she fainted, helping her up and saying how he was not dead and would always be with her.
"Okay I push this button, turn this part and it should be done." Marcy finally pushed the gems to open the portal, however as she did that the whole castle shook a bit as the final bit of "Calamity Energy" was used up.
"What the?" Andrias looked around trying to see why his castle was powering down, he finally saw Marcy with the box, about to open a portal. "THE BOX! NO!" He started running towards Marcy with full intent to grab the box again.
As he ran towards Marcy however, the portal opened up.
The Plantars got the memo after seeing the portal and started to move Anne there.
Sasha however, ran in front of Andrias and, quite literally, kicked his shins while Grime hit the other with his warhammer.
"YOU TWO GO FIRST, I'LL HOLD HIM BACK!" Sasha yelled towards Marcy, Sasha knew if she didn't at least try and stop Andrias he would stop her girls from going back home, even if she had to give up her chance to go back with them.
The Plantars finally reach the portal while Marcy is still fiddling with the Music Box trying to make sure the portal stays open for Sasha before she gets in.
However she was cut off by Anne pushing her into the portal yelling "JUST GET IN MAR-MAR!"
"YEAH MARCY WE NEED YOU THERE AS WELL!" Sprig yells after helping push Marcy in.
However, as Marcy entered the portal, she turned to see a sight that would haunt her until she died.
Anne, with a fiery sword through her chest.
"Tell my Mom I… loved her…" She fell limp, Marcy's hand tried to grab hers one last time but The Box fell and closed the portal.
With Sprig still there, in Amphibia.
"Well well well, not who I wanted to get, but I guess I have to accept these small miracles right Frog?" Andrias said as he pointed his sword at Sprig, who is frozen in fear and shock and about to get stabbed as well.
At that moment, both Sasha and Grime acted before their brains could catch up to them.
"HI YEAH, I'M GOING TO TAKE BOTH OF THESE" Sasha takes Anne's dying body and the statue-like Sprig before throwing him to Grime. "AND FUCKING BOLT! SEE YA KING SHIT!" Sasha throws one last insult at Andrias, who didn't stop her because he was confused at what she was doing, before running back to Grime, who caught Sprig after Sasha threw him, she looked at him and then they both just… Jumped out of the window.
Sasha had no plans when she jumped out of the window with Grime, only "GOTTA GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE BEFORE I DIE", "THAT FUCKING SQUEAKY TOY IS GONNA DIE IF HE STAYS THERE" and "I HAVE TO SAVE ANNE I HAVE TO SAVE ANNE I HAVE TO SAVE ANNE" so she did the first thing she thought of after getting both of them and just jumped out of the window of a flying window.
After a few seconds of falling, Grime spoke up.
"So… Do you have any actual plans for AFTER we jump out of the window?"
And then it finally hit her, she really did just jump out of a window at like 500 feet (1000~meters) up in the air huh?
"Uh, nooo?" She extended the "no" to try and think of an actual plan "I mean, there's Marcy's bird right?"
"You are right, her bird might be useful for us." He said the word like it physically hurt him, but at least agreed to her plan, that was a first.
But, as she was about to do the Joe Sparrow Call, he just swept under their feet and caught them.
As they kinda floated through the air, kinda flew to nowhere specific, Sprig finally returned from his shock-induced paralysis, and the first thing he did wa-
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" … That, as he screamed and spooked everyone he looked down and saw Anne's body he calmed down to just sobs.
After everyone calmed down and the only sound in the air was Joe Sparrow's wings flapping and Sprig's sobs everything just kind of hit Sasha.
Sasha was ALONE bar Grime, Anne was fuckING DEAD, and she had NOWHERE to go to.
"We have nowhere to go. WE HAVE NOWHERE TO GO! AND WE ARE FUCKING FUGITIVES!" Sasha started to panic, she was being HUNTED and she had nowhere to hide.
"Yes Sasha, and we survived before in those conditions."
"OK GRIME, BUT THIS TIME WE ARE BEING HUNTED BY ROBOTS NOW!" Sasha tried to explain her panic.
"Yeeaaah and?" Grime still seemed to not be getting it and was weirdly calm?
"Grimesy I love you, and I think of you as better than my own dad simply because of the swords, but I think you are way too calm for someone being hunted by robots and The Kingdom."
Grime only grumbled something about how kneecaps would be shattered and Bad Parents.
5 minutes later, Sprig mumbled something that vaguely sounded like a name, but was too low to hear over the wind.
"Could you speak up Squik? 'Cause I didn't catch that."
Sprig mumbled a bit louder but Sasha still didn't get it.
"Slick, I need for you to be actually audible for me please, because right now you are at a 2 and I need you at a 6 at the very least, so could you please?"
"WE COULD GO TO WARTWOOD!" Sprig yelled, making Sasha actually jump a little since she was not expecting him to actually yell.
"Ok geez, if you think they'll accept us there with Anne's body that's like 70% dead." Sasha said as matter-of-factly as possible, but she also couldn't think of anywhere better to go.
"Maddie could make a healing potion or curse, so Anne might get better."
"Anne is going to die and, quite literally, going to get better. I can't believe it." Sasha mumbled to herself
"Did you say anything Sasha?"
"No," Sasha sighs "No I didn't."
Because they were flying aimlessly for basically 15 minutes it took them quite a while to make their way to WartWood's direction, after that it was just a waiting game.
While waiting Sasha tended to whatever wounds she could on Anne's body, there weren't many since she had almost nothing to treat her, after doing that for a while and making sure she did do all she could on Anne she started polishing her swords (it's therapeutic she tells Grime when he asked).
After what felt like hours (at least the skies are clear here Sasha tells herself while looking at the skies) but was probably just yet another 15 minutes, they reach WartWood.
The village people, Sasha guessed, were already surrounding Jon Sparrow since he was not supposed to return because Marcy was, y'know, supposed to leave because of Box(tm) related reasons.
So when they saw Jon Sparrow approaching town they knew that something went wrong.
Seeing Sasha and Grime leave instead of Marcy and Anne was probably even More Concerning, and Anne's Limp Fucking Body was probably what tipped them off to "Yeah, shit was fucked and we need Actual Help."
Maddie made her way to the front once she heard that Anne was dying/extremely hurt.
"Ok ok, I'm here what hap- HOLY FROG WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?!"Maddie jumped, actually jumped 3 feet into the air, once she saw Anne's body.
"Gonna tell later, long story, Can. You. Help?"
"Yes I can but," Maddie took a good look at Anne's body, even doing a full round around Sasha to see how Fucked Up(tm) Anne was "This will use more Health Potions than I have right now."
"And that means?" Sasha made a 'continue please?' movement with her somewhat-free hand.
"Treatment will take a long time and will require a bunch of herbs." Maddie finished her analysis and wrote an estimated time on a paper (3-5 weeks at the very least, maybe 8 at the max - Maddie).
After taking Anne's body to her kinda safe house to begin treatment Sasha began her side of the story, she knew it would be kinda biased and lack certain details but it was the best she could do.
"- so yeah, that's what I know of "what happened?", if you have questions about why I don't explain certain things it's because… I don't know what happened there, that's literally the only reason." Sasha finished her explanation, she was by now just sitting on the mud like everyone else.
Maddie came back at some point with something red on her hands that Sasha decided to ignore.
"Cappie, shoot your question." Sasha said while pointing at Ivy.
"Where's Sprig? You said he came with you but I still haven't seen him." Cappie's question was pretty good, Sasha was sure he came down with her and Grime, who was oddly quiet and glaring at her, guess he's still on Jon's back.
"Cappie, you asked a good question, I was sure he came down with us. I think he's still on Jon Sparrow's back-"
"He's with Anne, helped me take her there and feed her the healing potions." Maddie said out of nowhere.
Everyone just turned to look at her when she spoke up. Guess nobody was expecting whatever that was.
"Anyways, if any of y'all have more questions you can ask me or Grime during the week because the exhaustion of flying for like, 50 minutes, is finally hitting me. Anyways, see ya." Sasha stood up and started making her way to the hotel when she realized that there would probably be no rooms available.
So she made her way to the only place that would have any room for her, The Plantar's house, but before going there she wanted to go see Anne so she asked around for where Full Goth Alchemist lived and took Anne.
After finding her she asked for Anne's location, learned it and went there.
"Hi Sprig," Sasha said as she entered the quickly-turned medical area, Sprig sent a quick 'hi' back, "so I heard Anne was here, could I have some private words with her?" Sprig nodded and left the room, after a few seconds of glaring Grime also left.
"Hi Anne," Sasha made her way to the side of the bed and took Anne's hand, she felt a pulse, slow but there, "Heard you'll be here a while, I'll try to visit as much as I can, but I don't think I can beat your little bro's visit rate, I swear he'll come here every day at least once." Sasha laughed at her own joke, frog, she's so stupid.
"Listen, I'll try to be better for this city simply because of how much you love it. When you wake up, I want you to see how much better I am. I WANT to protect this city and I'll do my best at protecting it, you'll see." Sasha started to get up, before moving away she kissed Anne's hand and THEN she left.
When she left she looked for Sprig, the exhaustion from the day's events hitting even harder now and her want for a place to sleep growing every second. When she found him, he grabbed him by the arm and took him outside before saying the following towards his fucking soul:
"Your house. Where? Now." Sasha was not wanting ANY funny business from him which is why she used what Marcy calls her 'Soul Stare' on Sprig.
Sprig tried, really tried to counter it but gave up soon enough and started showing her and Grime the way to his family's house. After about three minutes of walking they finally reached the house and Sasha is about ready to sleep literally anywhere, even the sofa.
But as soon as she reaches the door, she can't get in, not like she doesn't fit, but rather something is not letting her in, something inside her, something telling her that she doesn't deserve to after what she let happen to Anne.
"Are you not coming in? I thought you were "dead tired", heh." Sprig says when he notices Sasha still at the door and simply not moving to get in, "Listen, I bet that once Anne wakes up, you'll be the second person that she hugs, why second? Because I'm better than you duh!"
When Sprig finishes talking it feels like at least a tiny bit of the weight holding Sasha back lifts, it's obviously not everything, hell, it's not even that much. But just having a member of Anne's family banter with her makes her feel a bit better than Grime probably would.
"Sure Squeaky Toy, keep telling yourself that little shit."
"Says the one who hasn't taken a bath in 3 days."
"Whatever, Mucus Soap, good night."
"Good night to you too Gangly Creature."
And like that, Sasha goes to sleep on a sofa, in full armor and swords nearby wondering how Marcy is.
She tries to think how Marcy is doing on her own end, probably well.
Marcy wakes up to the sound of car horns, engines and the screams of the Plantar Family.
Welp, that ain't good.
