Pairing: Itsuki x Ryoga tension.
Summary:
Tenryu Light attempted to invite somebody scary with Seventh Flame on their private Genesis Island getaway. Mitsutagawa Itsuki had a similar thought.
"I'm glad you chose to come with us on our resort vacation."
"I'm not here with Seventh Flame," Ryoga replied threateningly. "Don't mistake my being here for anything. I'm not going to become friends with your friends. We ain't even friends, so you can stop trying to change how I view the world."
"What about how you hear the world?"
Ryoga snarled at Itsuki.
"If we aren't friends, why did you come?"
"To get away from the noise! But after a short bit of time on this island, I can see it needs to be snuffed out here like everywhere else!"
"Other noise for you, I get. But I thought you liked my noise."
"I will destroy you."
Itsuki backed off, opening a banana he gathered on his hike with Ren and Tatsumi through the forest area, and biting into it.
"You really are a masochist, spoiled brat."
"Pardon?"
"Even when you ain't talking, you're asking to be beaten black and blue."
"I'm not doing anything."
"Oh yeah? How are you peeling that banana?"
"This is how I peel and eat bananas. Is there a problem?" Itsuki finished the one, opened another (two-handed, like a flower), and also ate that one (like he was eating from a bowl) in front of Ryoga. Not to intentionally upset him, but to ascertain some hint as to why it set him off.
"Wimp, I knew you were a fruit, but when you can't even eat fruit right!"
"That's a pretty mean assumption to make about someone."
Ryoga stole Itsuki's wrist and crushed it. Had it been a banana, it would've been mush.
"Ryoga-kun…"
"Ha. Was my assumption wrong?"
Itsuki shook his head. He was a glutton, but not one for punishment.
As unexpected as the monkey taking Itsuki's smartphone, Ryoga took a banana and demonstrated to Itsuki the normal way to peel and eat a banana. "Normal" and Ryoga was scary in itself.
If Gentleman could turn out to not actually be the arrogant jerk he was as a digital avatar, perhaps Ryoga's thorniness could be trimmed.
