If there was one time of the year everyone looked forward to every year, it was Life Day. And it was only a few weeks away, which meant it was time for the fun part... decorating!
This was Omega's very first Life Day with her new family, and Luke and Leia's first Life Day ever! She was so excited for everything her family told her about Life Day. Decorating a tree, lots of colorful lights, singing carols, baking cookies, and getting a visit from Santa Claus on Life Day Eve.
"Hey, Wrecker. Be careful with those ornaments." said Hunter. "Those are very fragile."
"Oh, Tech." sang Mila, pointing up as she held a stick with something attached to it.
Tech looked up and saw the mistletoe. And before he could guess what came next, Mila kissed him.
"Mind if I borrow that?" Qui-Gon asked, taking the mistletoe when Mila and Tech finally took a moment to breathe, and he went to look for Shmi.
Shmi cooed over the babies as they were dressed in two of many holiday onesies they'd gotten as early presents.
"Babies' first Life Day." Padme smiled, giving Luke lots of kisses as Shmi finished buttoning up the red and white striped onesie.
"These two are so precious." Shmi cooed, giving Leia kisses.
"Do you have some for me?" Qui-Gon joked, holding the mistletoe over him and Shmi.
"Does Ani do this to you every Life Day?" Shmi asked her daughter-in-law.
"Non-stop." Padme said. "I know you're back there, Ani."
Anakin froze. Padme didn't even look behind her.
"How do you do that?" Anakin asked, still lifting the mistletoe. "You know it's my favorite part of this time."
Padme got a little devious and put Luke's little face to Anakin's puckered lips.
"No fair!" Anakin whined.
Luke giggled at his father pouting like a child.
"Luke seems to think it was funny." Padme chuckled.
Anakin took his son into his arms and went to check on the kids as they were working on their letters to Santa.
"I never wrote a letter to anyone asking for presents." Omega said.
"Oh, Santa gets more letters than I think even all his elves could count." Gabby said. "Boba and I should know."
"I thought it was a dream when I woke up Life Day morning," said Boba. "Until I found I had the same bandage from then."
"Writing letters to Santa is one of the best parts of Life Day." Gabby said. "But the really best part is that the whole family gets together, and everyone is so happy."
"Not quite everyone," said Carousella. "Remember that old holiday classic? I think Mila said it was called A Christmas Carol?"
"Si. Christmas is what we call our Life Day," said Mila. "But in Spanish, we call it Navidad. Papa would read that story to me and my cousins every Navidad when we were little."
"You know," said Sapphire. "I believe it just so happens we have our very own version of that story right here."
Sapphire picked up a book with the magic of her jewel. It was called A Life Day Carol.
"Is it too early to read a Life Day story?" Lamenta asked.
"Ooh! I love holiday stories!" Diamond said, eagerly bouncing up and down.
"Omega's never heard it before," said Gabby.
Qui-Gon knew exactly what the children were implying now and told the kids to gather around.
Wrecker also sat with the kids, wanting to hear the story.
"Alright, settle down everyone." Qui-Gon chuckled as he opened the book. "'Twas the night before Life Day, the magic of the holiday was in the air."
