Mace found himself shivering as a cold wind blew.
"Hello?" Mace called out, his own echo being the only response.
It was a blizzard outside, and Mace struggled to pull himself through the wind as he shivered in the cold.
"How did I not notice a blizzard coming in?" Mace said. "The spirit couldn't have dropped me in a tropical environment or at least some place with an open fire?"
And that was when Mace bumped into someone. Someone very very tall and in a long black robe.
"Are... are you the ghost of Life Day Future?" gasped Scrooge.
"I am, Master Scrooge." said a voice, an echoey female voice. "I am here to show you what is yet to come."
"Life Day future, right?"
"No. I have no Life Days left to show." said the voice.
"What do you mean?" Mace asked, getting scared.
The spirit moved her hood back slightly, flashing her purple eyes and the serious look on her face. The face of young Lamenta.
"You will succeed in erasing the holiday, and soon all shall lose the spirit of Life Day they once held!" said Lamenta.
Then, Mace thought of something else.
"But wait! What about Gabriella Cratchit? What's going to happen to her? Can you at least tell me that?"
Lamenta pointed to some place through the snow. A graveyard. The Cratchit family stood there in mourning, Padme holding the new baby twins.
Mace couldn't believe his eyes! He knew Gabby had been sick from what the Spirit of Life Day Present showed him, but he didn't realize she'd been that sick! Now he knew what Comedia meant when he said this would be her last Life Day ever even without Mace erasing the holiday.
"Oh no. Oh no!" Mace gasped. "This can't be the future!"
"I'm afraid it is." Lamenta said. "But it is not only one child you have doomed this last Life Day."
Lamenta:
I see a cold wind blowing through
I see days neither fun nor free
Lamenta glared at Mace and pointed accusingly at him with a look of sincere anger and disappointment in her eyes.
I see a future caused by you
I see a path not meant to be
Lamenta then showed a vision of a magical future with people smiling and dancing together, like Life Day should have been.
The future should be filled with magic
Dreams and wishes brought to life
But then the vision was wiped out.
But the days ahead are dark and tragic
No time for hope when all is strife
Mace's fear grew as Lamenta circled around him and glared more and more into his face.
Whatever might have been
All the dreams that families share
Because of you, Master Scrooge
Now, the future is a cold nightmare
And that was when magical spirits called wendigos flew by.
"What?! What are those?" Mace asked.
"Those are wendigos, Master Scrooge." Lamenta said. "They are attracted to areas of great sadness, anger, and separation, and freeze the land that lacks the warmth in the hearts of its people as Life Day gave to all every year. And your actions will allow them to spread across the galaxy, and doom the future of all worlds into a blanket of eternal snow!"
Lamenta then began to disappear into the clouds.
"NO!" Mace panicked.
Mace did the math and realized just how terrible his idea was. He had no idea what he was thinking before. Brenda, the Cratchits, everyone! They would all be doomed to freeze to death all because of his arrogance and stubbornness in deciding to erase Life Day and forbid future Jedi from experiencing the joy of a real family and giving gifts on Life Day.
"This can't be happening! I didn't realize how important Life Day was!" Mace begged on his knees. "Please, Spirit! I haven't cast the spell yet! Is there still time? I'm sorry!"
And then all of a sudden... everything went black.
