A peek at who Peter might have seen after he snapped.
"This is impossible!" The Mad Titan Thanos exclaimed in disbelief and anger. Before him were the sixteen young heroes known as the Next Avengers. And in the middle of the was Peter Parker, the Spider-Man. And on his hand were the Infinity Stones, relics of immense power and right now, they were being wielded by Peter, channeled through the sixteen of them.
"You're nothing but mortals! Mere children! HOW?!"
"You said it yourself, you Darth Sidious looking punk!" Peter growled, bringing a hand up with his fingers ready, "...we're the Next Avengers!"
[SNAP]
And everything went white.
Peter opened his eyes and found himself standing in what seemed to be a void, one with goldish-yellow sky and red watery ground. Like an eternal sunset over a never-ending puddle. As he took in his surroundings, he noticed that he was no longer in his Spider-Man suit, nor his Iron Spider suit. Rather, he was in casual attire with his hoodie and dark jeans and tennis shoes. He also noticed that he wasn't in pain and the Infinity Stones weren't on his hand.
Wherever he was, he wasn't in his world.
"Hey." A voice echoed from behind him.
The sound caught Peter by surprise. Yet he still turned around and saw two people standing a few strides away from him. A girl and a boy.
Curious. They seemed friendly enough, so he slowly walked toward them. As he got closer, he noticed the girl looked to be around his age, possibly younger. And the boy...he reminded Peter of someone. But with the girl, there was...something very familiar about her.
"Do I...do I know you?" He asked her as he finally reached them.
The girl gave a short smile. "We're pretty close, yes. Master."
And then it hit him. Peter's eye went wide with surprise and he gasped. "Morgan?"
At that the girl's smile grew into a tearful one. "Hi, Peter."
Peter breathlessly chuckled before the girl, apparently Morgan, jumped at him in a hug. It took a moment, but he slowly returned it. Still stunned. This wasn't the small girl he was used to hugging, holding, and carrying around. No, this girl was now a teenager.
"How is this possible?" He wondered out loud, "This isn't time travel."
"No." Morgan agreed, pulling back a bit from the hug so they could face each other. "It's more...cosmic."
Almost instantly, Peter understood. "The Stones."
Morgan nodded, giving a somber look.
A moment of silence passed before Peter worriedly asked, "Am I...am I dead?"
Again, there was silence. But there were also looks of sadness on Morgan's face and thar of the boy next to her. "Kinda, yeah."
That felt like a punch and a clinch to Peter's heart. He died. The Stones had killed him. Multiple thoughts and people went through his mind.
The team. Tony. May. Jamie and Nikki...Ava. They would all be hurt. This wasn't good.
"But this isn't the last time we see each other." Morgan spoke up, bringing Peter out of his thoughts.
Hearing this surprised him, though. "What do you mean?"
"She means you'll be back...like you always do." The boy next to Morgan spoke.
Peter looked to the boy and took in his words. They surprised him too. But that was overrun by how much this boy's face intrigued him. "Do I know you too?" He asked curiously.
To which the boy smiled a little and nodded. "Yes, sir. Actually," he reached into his back pocket and pulled something out, "you know me and my mom too."
He held something out for Peter to take, which he did. It was a picture. And to his surprise, it was a picture of...
"Ava." Yep. The heroic latina and this boy were in this photo together. This was something "Wait a minute, your mom is Ava?"
The boy nodded again.
Again, Peter's brain began to swirl. Then he began thinking random thoughts. Like since he died, she must've moved on...or something. "So...so your last name is Ayala too, then?"
The boy and Morgan both chuckled at that and shook their heads.
"No, heheh My name is actually Parker." The boy said proudly. "Hector Benjamin Parker."
After hearing the name, his last name, Parker, Peter froze. Was this for real?
"He's your son, Peter." Morgan said, smiling.
All at once, Peter was gasping for air, smiling, and nearly laughing.
"Oh my god!" He said, kneeling down. He examined Hector closely and could see it. He could see both him and Ava in him. "I can see it."
"You can?"
Peter nodded and felt a tear fall from his cheek. "I'm so glad to meet you, Hector. My boy, Hector."
Hector smiled so brightly, he jumped at Peter and hugged him tight.
"I love you. Dad." He said without fear.
Hearing that word made Peter's heart burst as well as his eyes with tears.
"Yeah, we love you, Peter." Morgan added, kneeling down and joining the hug.
"I love you guys too," Peter replied. And he did, he really did love them. Remembering how much exactly, he smiled, "Actually, I love you three-thousand."
At that, Morgan laughed, remembering her and Peter's inside joke from years ago. It hit her right in the heart, as it did Hector and they both shed tears of joy and hugged him harder. The man who meant so much to them. Though in different ways, but by no means less.
