Notes at the end!

It had been several months since Cooler had been taken in by Doctor Mu. In the time leading up to now, he had been poked, prodded, stabbed and studied by various tools the doctor had on hand. The frost demon thought he could defend himself from these humiliating circumstances, but being just a head left him with only his eye lasers and telekinesis, and the kind doctor had apparently outfitted his ship with dampeners for both. He was left defenseless in this hellhole of a laboratory.

The doctor was looking over a small computer chip through a microscope. Various electrical signals emitted from the chip, zapping any metal instruments Mu poked with it. He silently laughed to himself as he picked it up, lifting himself from his seat. He strode towards Cooler with a stride in his step.

"Well well well, your majesty, it seems I've made a breakthrough. Perhaps we can get somewhere with this." he said confidently, before fixing the prince's head onto a harness. He had quickly learned a long time ago that Cooler was not above biting when all the chips were down, so he built a harness to keep his head in place for the more gruesome experiments.

"What is it this time, you miserable oaf?" Cooler spat at him. "A growth serum? A failed cloned body? Perhaps even some tiny little legs? Everything you've tried on me has failed." Mu ignored these taunts, preparing his tools for the upcoming procedure. Cooler and his species could handle a lot of punishment, it was what allowed him to survive his trip to the sun, but that didn't stop them from feeling pain. It made what little he had left of his skin crawl.

"Let's begin, prince." the doctor said, as he injected the demon with a small amount of anesthesia, which likely wouldn't help. He then did something that every enemy of Freeza's family had probably wanted to do ever since the frost demons had taken over the universe: He started to drill into the base of Cooler's skull. The screams the being expelled were long and shrill, Mu having been lucky to implement himself with the ability to disable his hearing. Cooler had never felt pain like this before. Every wound he had been inflicted with in battle was always on the outside, ready to be ignored or healed soon after, but this pain was inside, reaching the very depths of his brain.

The small drill the doctor had on his finger began to slow before he pulled it out, his patient nearly passing out from the experience. "That was the hard part, now comes the fun part." he laughed out, before he picked up a pair of tweezers. The small chip he had been experimenting on earlier was picked up, and he slowly started to move it to the base of Cooler's skull. The demon was beginning to lose consciousness, before he felt the chip scrape the bone. He let out a sharp squeal of pain, to which the doctor pulled the tweezers out fast.

"See? That wasn't too bad, we're already done!" Mu said. He walked back in front of Cooler, staring into the crimson irises of the prince. "I know you hate me for all of this, but I promise you that this will allow you to attain a power unlike anything in the universe. You will be stronger than Freeza, stronger than your father, stronger than Son Goku. Everyone in the universe shall bow before you, or be rendered to ash beneath your heel. In time, you will learn to thank me."

If the dampeners weren't on, Cooler would shoot eye beams into the doctor's skull right now, not caring how much energy he'd expend doing it. Mu then placed some green metal in front of him. "I want you to imagine an arm. It can be doing anything, flexing the fingers, twisting the wrist, punching me in the face, just try to imagine it doing that." he explained.

He didn't have to tell the prince twice, ever since he'd been taken to this place, he'd imagined torturing the cur in every possible way imaginable, then in ways only his dreams could think of. He thought of an arm seizing the doctor by his throat, tightening his grip just enough to see him squirm beneath the fingers. To his surprise, he noticed the metal in front of him moving. It had a weird consistency, some sort of cross between liquid and solid, nanotechnology perhaps? His army had experimented with that before settling on the Saibamen. It slowly began to morph into… his arm? Before he could open his mouth to exclaim how bizarre this was, it made its way around the doctor's neck!

Mu reacted with a mild hint of surprise, before slowly grinning with malice. "Oh, that's good. That is VERY good!" he said, before he pressed a button on his wrist, the arm dropping to the ground. "I activated a negative signal, it blocks the signal the chip sends." Cooler quickly regained his cool. "What is this? Turn that damn thing off, now! I demand it!" The doctor laughed in response.

"In time, your majesty. Allow me to explain. That chip that is now implanted into the base of your skull will allow you to control nanotechnology. Right now, it is weak, only allowing you to construct and control a single limb." he said, kicking the arm away for effect. It landed across the room with a loud thud. "But soon, you will be able to make a whole body, then another, and another, and another. Soon, you could command an army itself!"

This got Cooler's attention. He turned the thought in his head again and again. He couldn't lie, the thought of controlling a whole army by himself was tantalizing, even if it was the result of some mechanical torture. "And what do you demand in return? Do you take me for a fool? I know no one would just give someone this power for nothing."

Again, Mu laughed. "I want only revenge on the saiyans, same as you. I'm giving you this so you can exact the revenge so many others seek on that miserable race of barbaric apes. They eliminated my entire race just so they could take our planet, and they did it again and again under your brother. You never hired them to do your dirty work, so I have nothing to do with you beyond this. I only hope you can help me attain my vengeance."

This took the prince by surprise. Here he was, one of the supreme rulers of the universe, defenseless on a table, being given the means to exact his revenge by someone he didn't know. He briefly wondered if he was dreaming. "And that's all this is? You handing me the keys to slaughter Son Goku, not expecting anything in return? How do you expect me to spare you, I could easily kill you and take the technology you've given me anyway."

"Well, in addition to some precautions I programmed into the chip, I know you're better than your brother." Mu replied. "I know you keep your word in the end, and I fully intend to help you recover now that we've made progress. Do what you want after, as long as you kill those monkeys."

He pressed the button on his wrist again, deactivating the energy signal. He held out his hand, posing for a handshake. Cooler looked at the doctor, to the metal arm, and back to him. Slowly, the arm made its way back to Mu and shook his hand firmly. A deadly alliance had been born.

Hey everyone, here's a first for the series, I got a review from a guest! It isn't long, but I wanted to feature it anyway because this is so nice to see.

"I really like these little one off stories because they can easily be slid into Canon without much problem. Thank you for writing this."

This is just awesome to see, thank you for leaving a comment! I should say though, Z-Write is its own canon, so it can't totally be slid into the main Dragon Ball canon, it would be too limiting. But I seriously appreciate seeing this, it made my day when I saw it.

Anyway, this chapter is basically the start of the first 'arc' I'd say. I don't like the idea of writing fight scenes, I find them to be repetitive after a while, but I do wanna eventually adapt a bit of The Revenge of Cooler later on down the line. I also have another HUGE arc planned that I might start in a couple chapters, though it would be an Infinity War-like thing. So anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you next time! See ya!
