This was an alternate scene I wrote that would've seen PJ meet his grandfather in the past in an entirely different setting. The setting is, instead of going back to 1970, Harley and PJ would go to visit Hank Pym while still in 2012, while Jamie and Peter would go back to another time where the Tesseract would be. Then Harley and PJ would come find them and they'd all go home together.
I almost went with it, but I went ahead and stuck with the chapter in the story.
Enjoy!
***San Francisco***
After a good hour and a half of flying, mostly Harley as PJ rode on his back in his shrunken form, the two finally made it to their destination.
Harley slowed and hovered over a park before descending to the grassy ground below.
"Please watch your step and thank you for flying Air Harley." He said as he touched down.
His helmet opened and folded back into the neck of his suit and he looked around, seeing there wasn't anyone else around.
PJ's wings came out and he flew off of his friend's shoulder before growing back to normal and landing on his feet. His helmet folded back as well and he let out a breath. "No peanuts, no drinks, what kind of a flight was that?" He joked.
Harley laughed at that. The two jumped out of their suits and PJ slipped his on under the clothes he was wearing underneath. When they were done, they headed down the street to their destination.
They were in a suburban area, multiple houses all around, just outside the city. But the house they were particularly interested in was a big reddish brown house with a dark green trim.
"This is it, right?" Harley said
PJ looked to the house with a longing. A wave of homesickness washing over him. "Yeah... yeah, this is it." He said, worry in his voice.
"You alright?" Harley asked him.
PJ, not exactly sure how to answer that, shrugged and shook his head. "I don't know... nervous, I guess. Happy too, but nervous. I haven't seen my grandfather since I was a baby. He was a very different man than he would be right now. In this time I mean, and... I'm scared."
"Of what?"
"... I don't know how he'll react. I mean, what if he doesn't like me? What if he doesn't want to help us? Chances are he may not believe anything we say."
Harley felt for his younger friend. He knew what it was like to be worried about someone not liking him or listening to him. He faced that a lot as a kid after his dad left. It was something he was bullied about on a daily basis. And he felt helpless at times... but then things changed after Tony Stark showed up and he helped him. And now he was here, helping his new friends to save the world... Heck, the universe too really.
With that Harley knelt down and put a hand on PJ's shoulder and gave him a nod. "Don't worry about it, Peej. I'm sure your grandfather'll love you. You're a pretty likable kid."
PJ laughed at that and nodded. "Thanks Harley."
"And hey, if he doesn't wanna help us, then we're just gonna have to convince him to. Okay?"
The young Lang smiled at his friend's encouraging words and nodded with vigor. "Okay!"
Harley patted his shoulder and nodded to him before standing back up.
"Alright, let's do this."
Letting out a heavy sigh, PJ walked up to the house.
'You can do this, you can do this, you can do this,' he said to himself.
The two walked up the steps onto the porch and waited. PJ looked to Harley once more and he gave him another nod of encouragement.
With that PJ took in one more breath before ringing the doorbell.
"Yes?"
"Grandp-...uh, Dr. Hank Pym?"
"Yes. Can I help you?"
"Actually sir, you can. We uh... we need to talk to you about Pym Particles."
As soon as the words had left PJ's mouth, a moment passed before a look of great frustration and annoyance came to Hank Pym's face.
He then looked to PJ and Harley. "Look, I'm sorry but now is not a good time."
He didn't give them a chance to reply before slamming the door on them. PJ stood there, a little dazed. And who could blame him. His grandfather had just, unbeknownst to him, slammed the door on his grandson.
Confused, the young Lang looked back at Harley. To which his friend gave him a nod to go on. And he did.
Again, PJ knocked on the door. At first, there was no reply. But after another knock, the door aggressively swung open and an upset Hank Pym came out. "Look! I'm sorry you've been brought into this mess. It's sad that SHIELD would stoop this low and send kids to do their dirty work. But my answer is still and always will no! "
SLAM!
The whole porch shook and PJ and Harley both winced as the door closed roughly. There was silence before Harley stepped up next to his little friend. "Well, now what?" He asked.
PJ thought for a moment before another idea cam to him.
***Basement Lab***
Hank walked down into his basement lab, mumbling to himself. "Goddamn SHIELD. Now their sending kids! No damn remorse!"
He turned the lights on and walked over to the surveillance area which had multiple screens. Turning them on, he eyed the screen that showed the front porch. And on that porch was just Harley, still standing there.
Irritated, Hank pressed an intercom button that was connected to the camera.
"Get off my porch!" He ordered.
On the screen, he saw Harley look around in surprise. But he just stood there as he was. Now, Hank was getting more irritable. To the point of taking action. But since these were young people, he decided to give another warning.
However, just before he could speak again...
"I always liked it down here." A voice spoke behind him.
Turning around, Hank saw that same little boy from outside standing there. "I always thought of it like your own lair. Even gave it a name."
"How the hell did you get in here?" Hank asked, a bit surprised but totally furious.
"Front door." PJ answered with a smile.
The older man furrowed his brow at that and looked back to the security monitor that showed the front door. It was still closed. "That's impossible. I locked it."
"Oh, I think you and I both know that door didn't need to be unlocked or open for me to get in here. Sir."
Now, Hank's curiosity began to spike. This kid, whoever he was and however young he was, was brave. But cocky.
"Who are you?"
"Oh, my name's PJ." The young Lang smiled, holding out his gloved hand for a handshake.
"Well, PJ," Hank started, walking towards him, "I've been very patient, but its time you and your friend leave before call the-"
Hank was just about to grab PJ by the arm, but he froze and stopped speaking when what seemed to be a helmet came over the boy's head and he...disappeared. All that was left was the hoodie the boy had been wearing.
Just before he could kneel down to examine it, Hank heard the boys voice again.
"Dr. Pym!" Hank swerved to the right, but saw no one there. "On your shoulder."
That sent a chill up the scientist's spine. Slowly, he looked to his right shoulder and saw a small figure in a yellow and black suit-very similar to his-standing there.
"Can we talk now, please?" PJ asked.
But in reply, all he got was a few labored breaths and the sight of Hank falling backwards, fainting. Just before he fell, though, PJ jumped and his wings came out and he hovered as he observed the body of his unconscious grandfather on the floor.
"Oops."
Boom! 😂😂 This one was funny. I tried to give it as much life as I could, so I hope you guys like it. There's actually more added to this scene but I'm cutting it here just to get a reaction.
If you guys would like the rest, lmk and we'll see. 😁
Btw, I'm thinking up a new MCU Spider-Man based story and Peter will have a love interest. but I'm undecided on if it should be MJ or Ava as his love interest. If I did this, who would ya'll want to see? Please lmk.
Hope you guys have a good week! Laters!
