Mr. Satan pulled the blankets over his torso. After a long day of press conferences and training, he felt he deserved a bit of rest. After all, being the World Champion wasn't as easy as those posers who challenged him everyday thought it was. There was constant surveillance on him, millions of fans wanting to talk to him, and lots of pressure from around the globe 24/7. After all that, he hoped he would dream of nothing but hot cheerleaders and unlimited kegs at a party.

Instead of that, he got his door being knocked off the hinges. Again. The pink being known as Majin Buu, "Mr. Buu" in public, ran into his room, his large feet making loud thuds with each footfall. "MR. SATAN, BUU THINK THERE'S A MONSTER IN BUU'S CLOSET!"

Sighing, Hercule leaned up. "Buu, we've been through this. There's no monster in your closet. And, if there were, you have the power to destroy a whole planet without breaking a sweat." While the champ and Buu had been living together for quite some time now, the pink blob had only recently started his nightly antics. Every night for the past week, he ran into Hercule's room, screaming about some scary monster in his room, or a weird noise he could swear came from the first floor.

"Buu doesn't like monsters, Hercule make them go bye-bye!" the creature replied, trembling a bit. With another sigh, and a bit of groaning, Mr. Satan got up out of bed and led Buu back to his room. He loved the big guy, truly, but doing this every night reminded him of the worst part of raising a child. He was pretty sure the public would be able to see his eye bags if this didn't quit now, and he couldn't have any weakness shown in front of his fans.

He came upon Buu's room, the door still open. Inside was a king size bed, a large fridge filled with various sweets, and a medium sized closet. Buu didn't need a closet to store any clothes, he materialized anything he wanted to wear, and that was mostly relegated to his signature vest and pants. But the room he had chosen had a closet installed anyway, so he was stuck with it. Hercule just kept some old suits and jackets in it, clothes he hadn't worn since The Cell Games.

While the champ walked into the room, Buu stood at the doorway, still trembling and sniffling a bit. He looked like a frightened four year old from here, even though he was an immortal being who had destroyed planets for eons upon eons. Of course, the evil parts of his being had been wiped from existence in the battle against the Earth warriors, so now all that remained was the childlike pudgy Buu.

Mr. Satan walked to the closet door and, nonchalantly, opened it wide open and flipped the light switch inside. The light illuminated various suits of varying colors, alongside some jeans and dress pants. If there were a monster inside this, they'd be pretty fashionable. "See? Nothing inside, just like last night, the night before that, and the night before that etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Now will you please let me go back to bed, Buu?"

The blob walked in the room, finally, and sat on the bed, his face downtrodden. He always kept his eyes closed, unless he was angry or focusing, but Hercule could see a tear forming in his left eye. Suddenly concerned, he sat on the bed beside Buu, placing a hand on his shoulder. "What's the matter, buddy?" he questioned.

The creature started making a few mumbles in his throat, still looking down. Some more tears formed and flowed down his face. "Buu don't wanna talk about it." he replied with a tremble in his high pitched voice. Now Hercule knew something was really wrong. Was this a result of him keeping his anger in check? Did he do something to upset Buu? "Please Buu, you gotta let me know what's the matter. I can't help if I don't know what it is. You know I hate to see you like this."

Yet more tears flowed down the majin's cheeks. Finally, Buu spoke up. "Buu miss Videl. Buu miss having Videl in the house to talk to, to eat with. Buu miss her so much…" he choked out. Mr. Satan's heart dropped at these words. Videl had moved out last week to live with Gohan, her soon-to-be husband. The champ himself had tried to man up seeing his baby girl leave him, but even being the strongest (normal) human on Earth couldn't stop his heart from aching seeing her room empty.

"Buu spent so many years by Buu's self. Before Bibidi found Buu, Buu would just sleep and destroy. But after he found Buu, anytime Buu was bad, or after a world was destroyed, he would put Buu in that cocoon. Buu was always lonely, then Mr. Satan and Videl came along." Buu explained, his tears stopping for a moment, his face lighting up a tiny bit. "You two always know how to make Buu happy, Buu not feel so alone anymore. But now Videl gone, feel emptier in the house…"

Hercule could feel tears starting to form in his eyes, wiping them away before his friend could see. He didn't know he felt so lonely now that his darling was gone, maybe even more than the champ himself. He supposed that Buu really did feel lonely after all these years being by himself, or with a terrible master. Until they had met, Buu really didn't have any one he could call a friend, or even family.

"I miss her too, buddy." the champ said in a quiet voice. "Seeing my little girl leave the nest hurts worse than any injury I've ever gotten while fighting. It's the kind of hurt that stings and lingers long after it happens. But just know that she's happy. She has Gohan, she knows how to protect herself. Even though she isn't living here anymore, we can always call or visit her, so it isn't really as lonely as you think!"

Buu seemed to think this over for a few seconds, before turning his head to Hercule with a smile. He grabbed him in a big bear hug, giggling like he always did. While the champ swore he could hear a few pops, he was glad to see his friend was back to his usual self. Despite the major age difference between them, living with Buu honestly felt like raising a small child.

"Look, Buu, how about this?" Hercule asked. "You can move your bed into my room, sleep there until you feel better. Would you like that?" He had let Videl sleep in his bed when she was younger after her mother's death, the same anxious and scared feelings that Buu was experiencing had also affected her all those years ago.

The majin giggled again, and instantly picked up the bed, along with Mr. Satan, as if it weighed nothing. Within just a minute, he had already taken the giant bed to Hercule's room, and placed it by the opposite wall. The two got in their respective beds and said goodnight to each other. While this was certainly a strange arrangement, they both were glad to be great friends.

I'll be honest, I don't think this is my finest chapter. Not that it's bad per say, I'm just not totally confident in my sappy storytelling haha. Mr. Satan and Buu are two of my favorite characters, and I love all their moments on screen. When you think about it, Buu might be one of the loneliest beings in the franchise. An immortal being who has existed since the beginning of time, only to be exploited by a wizard and kept in a cocoon for a long time after his death. Then his son/clone shows up, threatens to put him back, he kills him, makes his first friend ever, gets beaten by his evil self and taken over. AND THEN-

What I'm getting at is that Buu is basically a child who has these issues because he hasn't been able to make connections, and his friendship with Mr. Satan is the best thing to happen to him. This story is also partially influenced by real events, since I felt the same way when my siblings moved out years ago. I didn't realize that until I got to the third paragraph actually.

Anyway, sorry if this chapter is a bit of a letdown, I wanted to just take it nice and slow for this one after the big Trunks chapter last time. I might continue the Cooler storyline next, or maybe I'll do the Mai chapter next, who knows? Anyway, thanks for reading!
