The LoudBusters 2

Ok my loyal readers here's crossover of a different type... This time I've added Ghostbusters to my Loud House story hybrids. But this is based off the Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters 2/Ghostbusters: The Videogame (Realistic version)/Ghostbusters: Afterlife timeline. What if during the stream crossing that defeated Gozer in the first film damaged the dimensional fabric between the Ghostbusters dimension and the Loud House? Sending ghosts into their world. Now Lisa will be the one alongside Liam & Lucy in creating the tech to capture and contain the spooks. Frankly if Elisha Gray and Alexander Bell can both independently create the telephone then Lisa Loud can develop the proton pack equipment. Rated K+ for mild innuendo, a dark tone/plot, scary monsters, or frightening monster descriptions.

- Chapter 2 - Library of Renewed Return

On the front porch of Lincoln's house, the gang made their bike ride back to the library, something Stella wasn't keen on revealing to everyone. ''If we're gonna be building our own equipment, Lisa will need more data. We're gonna have to go back to the library.'' Stella reluctantly concluded.

Gulping Rusty was totally shocked Stella would even think such a crazy idea. Last time they nearly got the heebie jeebies scared outta them. Now she wanted to go back? "Back to the library? Stella are you crazy?! I nearly ruined my pants last time! This is my last pair of clean boxers, now ya want us to go back?''

"Lisa needs data. Y'know what she said Rusty." Lincoln reminded him.

Indeed, their leader Lincoln was right Lisa wouldn't build their tech unless they gathered enough data about the library incident. And speaking of technology Stella was still putting in a few last screws and bolts into... Something she built. She told the guys to let her be until she finished. "Rusty TMI. TMI.'' Zach mumbled.

"Grrr! I don't know how I got myself dragged into this... '' The taller redhead grumbled.

"Simple you're our friend.'' Zach pointed out.

"I gotta get me some new ones... '' Rusty grumbled again, rolling his eyes.

And then Stella was finally finished. "Guys I present you the PKE Meter. Ta-da!'' Stella said grinning like a showoff.

"A PK what now? I don't get it.'' Zach yawned not understanding heads or tails of the gadget.

"Oh, I get it. PKE stands for Psycho-Kinetic Energy. It's how ghosts move physical things around themselves.'' Clyde explained.

"Say what now?" Zach said again confused. "I still don't get it."

Soon the gang went about their ghost hunting trip, with Zach still complaining, nobody explained Psycho-Kinetic Energy was. "Hey! Seriously guys I don't get it!" He half yelled chasing after his pals.

Slowly she moved the device around, hoping a signal would manifest itself. The signal she found was there... but very weak. "So, how's the ghost trail Stellers?" Liam asked her to take a look himself.

Walking along she read the signal the device was informing her of. It was still present but faint. "Hmm... Not hot. Looks like our spook is long gone. But there's enough residual PKE readings to maybe point us in the right direction.''

Eventually the trail led the teens to the card catalogs. But it seemed the spook had been there too, as heaping dollops of clear ectoplasm were slathered all over it. In fact, long strings oozed down like a nasty waterfall of goop. Some mid-sized plops even formed on the floor. In short, the slime was everywhere. Holding back the urge to puke Stella kept filming alongside Zach.

Only Clyde & Lincoln seemed immune to the ectoplasm's disgust factor, everyone else wanted to throw up. "Yup ectoplasm residue, it's all over these card catalogs. Yup what we saw here was a ghost alright." Lincoln confidently confirmed.

Naturally Rusty was as repulsed by the nasty glop as any normal person would be of it. "Ugh! Yuck! This is disgusting!''

"It's the real stuff all right. Liam or Rusty get a sample. For Lisa.'' Clyde told the two as he used a magnifying glass to inspect the goop more thoroughly.

"An elephant blows its nose here and you want to keep it?'' A voice said, Lucy of course appearing from out of nowhere.

Predictably the group jumped nearly halfway out of their skins, with Zach jumping so high Rusty ended up catching him. Thus, earning death glares between the two friends. "Lucy! Argh! You enjoy doing this way too much don't you?'' Her brother ranted.

If the young goth girl was to confirm what he said her expressionless face didn't show it. Deep down she did enjoy it a little. "The three of us well... we wanted some poetic inspiration... '' She started to say but fumbled getting it out.

Scratching her head Stella only saw her, all by herself. What did she mean by three? "Three of you? Lucy what're you talking about?''

"We're right here.'' Haiku said also popping out of nowhere with Rocky beside her.

"Yeah, what she said.'' Rocky added.

Spooked Rusty dropped Zach like a hot potato, earning him a scowl. "Dude, falling on the floor is not good for the butt. So, why're you three here again?'' Zach said picking himself up.

Nervous Rocky confessed scratching the back of his head. "Lucy heard you talking with Lisa. She figured we'd take a look for ourselves. It seemed a pretty cool idea to me at the time.''

"Could be asking you all the same question?'' Haiku asked eyeing them suspiciously.

"We were coming back here to get some samples. Like the ectoplasm splattered all over those cases.'' The Filipina gestured towards the catalog cases.

All of the younger kids' eyes nearly popped out of their heads, seeing the clear slimy residue covering the many library book catalog cases. The goop dripped on the floor piling up into a big gloppy dollop. Despite liking creepy things Rocky almost puked, somehow managing to swallow it again. "No offense bro but someone hocks a bunch of loogies, and you want to keep 'em?''

"Hmm... Interesting.'' Haiku thought gazing at it more closely.

"Gasp. That's what I say." Lucy said in agreement.

She watched as a larger dollop dripped down onto a nearby chair, frankly the stuff was some the weirdest material she'd ever seen. Seeing how the trio didn't understand the meaning of their return trip Clyde explained it. "We want Lisa to analyze them. See if we can't understand how it works. What it's made of. If we do that, we might be able to build some equipment to actually catch and hold a ghost indefinitely.''

"Gasp! Why would you do such a monstrous thing brother?'' Lucy sounded appalled; she'd said plenty of times ghosts were her friends.

Why on earth would her brother catch them and hold them like ants in a jar? In her mindset it was cruel. Still, it seemed the goth needed more information clarified, by Liam. "Just the bad one's kiddo. Not every spook is all that lovey-dovey with people. Lots of 'em just wanna scare the pants off ya. Others... Well, they want ya dead.''

That made sense to Haiku, it was true not all ghosts were so friendly. Many were dangerous and people left their haunted homes, never to come back. "Lucy... He's right. Many hauntings have only driven people away. Their locations are stained by the incidents. Not every specter is like Shanks Bogey... '' she said mentioning the ghost at Fairway University, Lori's college.

"Well, we need some more samples and readings. Why not tagalong with us?'' Zach suggested.

"Wait, study ghosts with you?'' Rocky asked just making sure his hearing wasn't failing him.

"Up close and personal?'' Lucy added, hoping hers wasn't failing either.

"Now we're talking my language, Lincoln.'' Haiku finished with a tiny smirk.

Getting into a serious state of mind Stella slowly made a sweep of the hallway PKE in hand. "The PKE is out. Everyone try to be quiet. Very quiet."

The group continued to look around the hallways, but a tiny increase of PKE pointed them towards a large reading lounge in the southern part of the basement. Mostly the books were old atlases, almanacs, historical records, even some encyclopedias. Several decades worth of them too. The bookshelves though weren't the event of interest... It was the books, desks, chairs, tables, and lamps.

In short, they were floating around levitating a few feet above the carpeted floor. With a stern look on her face Stella took scans with the PKE, with the readings rising. The ghostly librarian had definitely been here, her presence still influencing the mortal environment. Though she'd vanished off to somewhere the disturbance at the library wasn't quite over. To Liam, Stella, Zach, and especially Rusty was unsettling to say the least. "The books are floating... By themselves! Any one besides me bothered by that?" Rusty yelped his nerves completely shot.

"Cool... " Both Lucy & Haiku utter mesmerized by the sight.

"Nice... " Rocky added touching one setting it into a slow twirl.

"I've heard of these kinds of things, a full stabilizing levitation. I'd say the ghost's PKE is still pretty potent even after its gone." Clyde said looking over the strange spectacle.

"Stella start filming this.'' Liam instructed as Stella did just that.

Quickly Stella took out her old news crew equipment and started filming it, mostly for the group to watch later and partly for Lisa's research. The group walked through the staff room nearby. They got a very sloppy surprise inside. Everything was covered in thick layers of slime. By everything that meant everything. The vending machine, microwave, mini fridge, security cams, desk, even the couch!

This was a mighty big source of data Lincoln thought. "Geez! This whole room's been slimed! Look at it all! Rusty get... "

"Yeah, yeah I know. Get some samples. Get more samples, yeah I know the drill by now." The older Spokes boy grumbled knowing the drill by now.

Annoyed Rusty flung a large glop of the stuff at Rocky's face, splattering it completely in ectoplasm. "See. Not so funny, is it?" Rusty griped to his baby brother.

Scowling at Rusty then jumped and tackled his older brother. "Ooh yer so gonna get it now bro! C'mere!"

And the two got into a fight cloud Lucy got worried. "Rocky! Huh?" She said as Liam gently held her back.

"Luce let 'em fight it out. Get it out of their system." Liam said gently holding her back.

As the Spokes rolled around roughing each other up, they were also getting tuckered out. "You can't pay for entertainment like this." Stella thought to herself smiling. Soon Rocky was too tired to shove Rusty back even an inch.

"Now we need research books on everything supernatural." Stella said looking the video she'd filmed.

Surprisingly Lucy was the one who stepped up to help, out of all his younger siblings she was the one closest to him. Of the older girls he was close to Luna. "Well, I could at least. My knowledge of the supernatural could come in handy. Besides you've seen how many spirit and demonology guides I have in my book collection. Let me put them to use. While it's true most ghosts are harmless, but plenty are outright evil. You're my big brother I'll support you, just like you supported me.''

Still Lincoln didn't like the idea of his baby sister getting in league with all this, despite her macabre interest in funerals, vampires, ghosts, and everything creepy. Though Zach managed to convince him. "She's got you there L-Train. Her ghost smarts could come in handy.'' Zach pointed out.

"And I need to support Lucy. Count me in as well.'' Haiku nodded glad to help.

"And I also support my Dark Poison. Have to. Boyfriend's duty.'' Rocky also admitted, letting slip his pet name for his girlfriend.

"Dark Poison? Really bro?" Rusty said cocking an eyebrow, ready to tease his brother with this new ammunition.

The older Spokes boy even ruffled up Rocky's hair. "I'll give you a "Really bro" in a minute... " Rocky grumbled at his brother's mocking Lucy's pet name. "Let's just get this info back to Lisa."

-back with Lisa

Back in the room Lisa shared with Lily the ectoplasm sample and PKE readings, the Loud's resident mad scientist put all that her brother and friends retrieved into her computer systems. One of her robots Todd was analyzing said ectoplasm and his internal system results were very strange. "LISA THIS ECTOPLASM DOESN'T CONFORM TO ANY KNOWN CHEMISTRY SIGNATURE. I DON'T RECOGNISE ANY OF THESE PROPERTIES."

Astonished, she walked to her helper robot's results. She'd just finished a hefty upgrade of his systems a week ago, so his equipment being stumped by the tests wasn't something she'd come to expect. "Let me see them Todd."

After looking over a few chemical and electromagnetic readings Lisa quickly found something was wrong. Many of the readings didn't make sense. Tests for the ectoplasm for example showed something shocking. "Huh? Sweet ghost of Einstein! The physical examination of this "ectoplasm" don't correlate to its chemical, gravimetric, and electromagnetic properties. In short, I can't explain how precisely it works. But... but... but...? It's inconceivable! How could such a simple little plasm ever perplex the likes of me?" The family genius was in a state of shock, in fact she dropped Todd's data cartridge.

Thankfully it was Lily to the rescue catching the valuable data. Lily, who by now was four and half. She'd changed quite a bit, growing her light blonde locks to just past her shoulders (she still had that little tuft though). Her wardrobe was now a simple lavender blouse and white skirt. Just like Luan & Lincoln she had a tad bit of buckteeth. "Easy Lisa. Don't get butter fingers." Lily teased her returning to playing with her wooden blocks.

By now the family scientist was sweating bullets, she'd never expected the possibility of a scientific sample she could not explain. She was stunned, but then she recalled something important. If her brother and his friends brought back data from the library entity, she'd build their equipment. She grinned nervously at Lincoln and his circle of friends. "Well Lisa we're waiting on our tech."

The brainy brunette gulped, though in reality she was swallowing her pride, her legs somehow didn't move. It was like her legs were rooted to the spot. Even her brain was deep in a vast fog. With a frown Darcy snapped her fingers getting Lisa out of her funk. "Uh Lisa you said you'd build them if they brought back data. Get to it." Darcy said to her with lidded eyes.

There was only one thing she could of saying in response, and she did it. "Dang it." Yes, Lisa grumbled a few things unmentionable before dialing a number from her computer's mainframe. "Royal Woods community college? Yes, its Miss Lisa Loud again. I'm in need of several things and I hope you have

-to be continued

Now first off, I didn't plan for this fic to take a lot from Ghostbusters: Afterlife. But the undertones are there though. Also, this is set during the summer vacation after Lincoln's circle of friends finish 8th grade. First few chapters will be the gang starting things up: building the equipment, getting a vehicle, tools, containment unit. Then the first big job comes in at Royal Woods Spa. Yes, there will be sliming. Lots of sliming. Know that the ghosts can and will be sliming people. No firehouse though, but they'll be using some random unused bunker Lisa built sometime. As for ghosts? Many will be from the two-cartoon series, the games, and even the IDW Comics. A few will be original creatures from my own mind.

I hope you'll enjoy this story so please review it. Please read and review this and my other stories which range from: Yokohama Night Monsters, Power Rangers Dimension Legends, Loud House: Rise of Akira, ELG The Series, EL Digital Saviors, Cybertronian Invasion, Loud House Build Fighters, and Maverick Hunter KLN to satisfy your craving for bizarre crossovers. This is the bit where I mention saying good night, folks and take care this has been writer TURP signing off for the night. I hope you enjoy this new crazy story.
