The LoudBusters 3

Ok my loyal readers here's crossover of a different type... This time I've added Ghostbusters to my Loud House story hybrids. But this is based off the Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters 2/Ghostbusters: The Videogame (Realistic version)/Ghostbusters: Afterlife timeline. What if during the stream crossing that defeated Gozer in the first film damaged the dimensional fabric between the Ghostbusters dimension and the Loud House? Sending ghosts to their world. Now Lisa will be the one alongside Liam & Lucy in creating the tech to capture and contain the spooks. Frankly if Elisha Gray and Alexander Bell can both independently create the telephone then Lisa Loud can develop the proton pack equipment. Rated K+ for mild innuendo, a dark tone/plot, scary monsters, or frightening monster descriptions.

- Chapter 3 - Royal Woods Ghostbusters

-begin Sunglasses At Night by Corey Hart

Now that their equipment was being constructed the gang still needed a few more things to take on the forces of the supernatural. Like a proper uniform to wear. Even Rusty knew that was a stupid idea. "Well, if we go running around in these... The ghost slime stains might never come out. My dad'll murder me if I even smudge one of his suits. Though he would know my measurements... "

The mention of suits and measurements had a lightbulb switch on over Lincoln's head. He knew exactly who to get ahold of it was so obvious why didn't he think of it before? "Measurements... That's it! I got it! Leni can help us! I'll call her... Just hope she's not busy or on some date." Lincoln realized swiftly dialing her number.

If there was anyone who could make well-fitting outfits from basically scraps... It was Leni Loud. In most cases she was a complete bubblehead, but when it came to fashion, stitching, sewing, even wood working she was a wizard. She was a 19-year-old freshman at the local college of Great Lakes City, a long way away from Royal Woods. "Leni this is a real fashion emergency we need you to get our sizes for some uniforms."

Luck was on their side as the ditzy blonde answered. "Huh? You want me to get your sizes? OK I can drop by Linky since it's a fashion emergency. I'll get there as fast as I can!'' She said over the line, hanging up.

"Now we wait." Lincoln said smirking.

-two and half hours later

It was a long two and half hours when finally, Leni arrived, no doubt managing to find every short cut she could to get back home as fast as possible. Considering she drove all the way from the city, she was fast. But what they told her upon arrival baffled even her airhead brain. "Like, you guys are doing what and want me to what?" Leni asked hardly believing what the group just told her.

"We want to catch ghosts. We need some jumpsuit type uniforms made.'' Zach repeated.

Not really following their ghost catching angle, Leni blinked confused then realized if fashionable but functional uniforms were what her brother and friends were after well, she'd do it. "Well, if you need outfits made, I'm the master. Like, I think I am. Yeah, I am. I just so happened to bring a huge haul of fabric with me. Alright everyone line up so I can get your proper measurements.'' She told them.

Thus, on cue was a uniform making montage with Leni getting her brother and his friend's measurements for the new business uniforms. The bubbly blonde made sure she brought her sewer, stitching tools, fabric supply, and especially her skills with a needle that bordered on wizardry.

Carefully she cut and sewed every piece of cloth into place, keeping in mind the exact measurements each of the younger teens had. Leni slowly stitched everything and kept focused still stitching and sewing away.

Until finally after what seemed an eternity, she was done. "And viola! Here they are your new uniforms. Linky I made yours in orange just like your polos. C'mon, c'mon try it on Linky." She begged him.

Seeing no reason not to the lone boy of the family tried it on. It was fitting but loose enough in just the right places, so he looked in the mirror. "Hmm not bad. I look good Leni. This is probably your best work yet."

Happily clapping Leni was overjoyed over the fact Lincoln liked his suit, then she glanced over to her brother's best friend Clyde. She'd made a light blue uniform for him. While she'd dyed the fabric pale blue, she worried it wasn't left in the dye long enough. But now dry it seemed ok. "Here you go Clyde, like wear it well."

Giving her a quick hug Clyde was always surprised by Leni's kindness, despite her ditziness. Her work was top notch he thought, no wonder she was going to college for fashion. "Thanks Leni you're a real help. This looks really nice on me. You'll make a guy a very happy hubby someday.'' He said as she was rendered speechless, simply blushing beet red.

Next Rusty was slipped his jumpsuit on, looking his new threads over in the mirror. "Ooh, these look nice. I look like a professional.'' Rusty said liking the rich shade of earth brown Leni made for him. It was a shade like his dad's finest business suits.

Following his lead Zach did the same. "Gotta agree with Rusty, I could get to like this.'' Zach admitted liking his dark grey suit.

Slipping his beige uniform on Liam also looked himself over in Leni's mirror. "Not bad... But maybe next time. Fellas I'll hang back in case you need reinforcements."

Even the tan outfit for Stella was made just as good, again it had the best flexibility in all the right places. "Leni this is five-star gold work. Thanks."

With their threads finished now the gang needed a few more things. "Now we need a name. For franchise recognition." Rusty said wiggling his eyebrows. "And a real cool logo."

The older blonde was about to say something, but Lincoln naturally had that detail covered. "Oh, I got that one covered Leni. I've doodled a bunch of them... tinkering around and see which of them is best."

One of his concepts was a simple logo which in shape of a firefighter badge with a red lightning bold going through a cartoony ghost. Another was the same except for a yellow bolt. Another was blue hued. Another design was just the ghost with a lightning the bolt through it, first left, then right and right through the center.

She flipped through several more concepts with a ghost in a ring, with the bolt going from top right to bottom left. Another version was black. Two more designs were deep blue and yellow. But one stuck out to Leni... with a simple looking Prohibition Road sign. She knew it all too well. The cartoony ghost was set inside it. This was it; it was perfect she thought, and she let Lincoln know it. "Linky I think I like this one the best. It's kinda plain but you guys didn't settle on a name yet... It like kinda works."

"Thanks Leni." Lucy said giving a small little smile. "True. We haven't come up with any names yet."

With at least the logo was taken care of now the group needed a name. A name to strike terror into the most powerful of the supernatural forces. But that's where even Lincoln was getting stumped, for once he had no plan to follow. "Ok everyone I got it. Call us "Ghosts R Us''. Huh? How's that one?'' Even Zach suggested throwing out ideas for names.

That one only made everybody shake their heads 'no'. "Tough crowd... " Zach muttered.

"Sorry Zach not quite catchy enough. Keep trying.'' Clyde pointed much to Zach's chagrin.

"Critter Getters? Totes catchy." Leni suggested.

Again, everyone simply shook their heads 'no'. ''Ok fellers how about Poltercatchers?'' This was Liam's idea. "Yeah, like Zach said tough crowd."

Everyone for a third time shook their heads. "Spook Busters?'' Lincoln suggested.

For a fourth time everybody shook their heads 'no'. "Call this cheesy or what will you... But Ghost Smashers perhaps?'' Haiku suggested.

At that point Stella had an epiphany of inspiration, having the exact line of thought necessary Stella had something in mind. "No. No. Busters is fine. We need something with Busters. How about we combine Busters with Ghost. Ghostbusters. How's that sound? Everyone think it has a good ring to it. All in favor?''

"AYE!'' Everyone agreed that name was perfect.

But then Rusty brought up a good point. "But where we gonna make home base at? Guys as much I hate to say it, I doubt some apartment building is gonna let us rent it with the spook stuff we're constantly hauling around.''

That was a good point, as the group mumbled and grumbled several things, as much as Lincoln hated to admit Rusty had a good point. It wasn't very likely the apartment renters would allow that kind of thing, much less the group buying an old building and remodeling it, all on their own mind you. There wasn't enough money for it. Just then walking down the stairs Lisa recalled something that could prove useful. "If I may interject, I happen to have constructed an extra bunker. Several in fact all across Royal Woods. This one just so happens to have a fully functional hanger bay door system, robotic assembly arms for mechanical maintenance, plenty of available space, fully functional kitchen, bathroom, rest quarters, and then some for research and development.'' She said ever so casually adjusting her glasses.

"Really? Lisa, you built extra bunkers all over town?'' Clyde asked her confused by the idea.

"I did.'' She replied flatly.

"Why'd ya build another bunker for?'' Liam asked not getting her reasons.

Tilting her eyebrow Lisa shivered explaining to the farm boy the reasoning. "Just in case Luan had any potential April Fool's antics planned for us, especially since Lily reignited her passion for pranking. Never hurts to be prepared Mr. Hunnicutt.'' And she was right on that account.

Well now they had a name, the clothes, the insignia, home base, in fact they'd checked every box for a business. But they were still missing one key part for this whole ghost catching business. A vehicle to drive them everywhere. A car. "Let's see now all we need is a ride. No offense to the bus service but we can't rely on that or carpooling from our parents. You remember last time we tried? We'll need our own set of wheels.'' Stella pointed out.

"What? Seriously? Yer nuts." Rusty scoffing at the idea.

"Hate to say this but Stella's right, we need our own personal ride. But where?'' Zach thought stumped for ideas.

"I know someone who can help us with that too, Lana of course.'' Lincoln suggested.

"You think the little grease monkey can do all that?" The Filipina asked concerned.

"I don't think she can, I KNOW she can." Lincoln replied.

-later

After finding the nine-year-old mechanic Lana was given her role in this massive project, why they wanted lots of junk she questioned. The gang even explained what kind of vehicle framework they needed. "Oh, uh ok... I am on good terms with the current manager of the salvage yard. I'll see what I can scrounge up. Besides a car-carrier trailer tipped over a few days ago. Completely wrecked everything it hauled. Might be some good parts.'' She said wiping off some of Vanzilla's motor oil from her hands.

The little blonde was almost covered head to toe in the stuff, not that she really cared about being clean all that much. Somehow able to still ease her stomach Stella explained to her. "Well, if you can find an old garbage truck or armored car that would be fine. It'd be just big enough.''

"Well good luck kiddo." Her brother told her as Lola drove her there.

-eventually

Eventually the young blonde managed to have the giant trailer of junk, parts, truck bed, scrap, and other assorted refuse hauled to the bunker. The huge number of parts the Ghostbusters could use from it all were insane. It was exactly the kind of leftover scrap they needed. Disgusted by all the dirty junk Lola grumbled to herself. "Note to self never drive Lana to the junkyard. Because then she'll ask to haul back tons of it."

"Uh couldn't find a garbage truck or armored car chassis... but I did scrounge up this. A bed from an old 1952 pickup truck. Plus, loads of electronic scrap.'' Lana said wiping off a bit of grease from it with her hands. "So, what do you want me to do with all this junk anyways?'' The young grease monkey asked the group.

Frankly it made no sense why they wanted all this mechanical scrap; they weren't mechanics like herself. So, why'd they need it? It was then Lincoln explained why. "We need a ride. I mean we need you to build us one.''

"You want me. To build you guys a car?'' She asked tilting her head her longer pigtails swaying slightly still not figuring out their reasons why. "Ok... "

-Lisa's bunker

Once the group well regrouped in the bunker Lana was in for a big shock but seeing all the heavy junk it made even Lana cringe, especially after she barely managed to transport it underground to Lisa's bunker complex. Her work was cut out for her, but still she saw a problem. "How the heck am I supposed to lift all this? I'm good with a wrench but I can't bench 200 some pounds! That's Lynn's job.'' She complained.

"As I stated before luckily, I installed these.'' Lisa said pressing a button on the walls as a huge array of robotic arms emerged from the ceiling, flooring, and even wall panels. Naturally everyone was in shock over them even being there in the first place. "Robotic assembly arms. In case I needed to perform extensive repairs on my robots or construct new ones. I have welders, hydraulic riveters, screwdrivers, soldering tools, bolts, screws, nuts, and anything else I need for my constructive purposes.''

"Alright Lana let's put this puppy together, would ya do me the honors and mind helpin' me?'' Liam asked the grease monkey twin.

"Proud to Mr. Hunnicutt.'' Clanking her wrench on his.

"Uh check back with us in a... In a few hours give or take I guess.'' Lana told them just how long she & Liam might take.

Sometime later after they finished, the group laid their eyes on their brand-new business car. It was some kind of large truck with a camper backing modified into a roof topped with a large proton gun cannon, generator, extra power cables, cowcatcher with wench assembly, and PKE radar system. Its bright white paint scheme glistened having just recently dried. Large red spoiler fins decorated the rear. But its massive rocket-like exhaust pipes stuck out on the camper sides. But its biggest oddity was the huge tires Lana installed. The kind you'd see on a monster truck.

"What's with the ginormous tires Lana? We needed transportation not a monster truck.'' Zach pointed out taken back by the odd design choice.

Naturally Lana had to explain the odd equipment she installed. It was a bit odd though. "Oh that, well with all the gadgets and doodads you wanted put on it really weighed it down. So, I added reinforcements to the end of the chassis. But found out regular tires can't support the load. So, I modified some medium grade monster truck tires to support it.''

The Filipina stared at the tool savvy Loud sister before her mouth turned morphed into an "O". "Ohh... I get it. Basic weight distribution, good call Lana."

The vehicle now stood there almost as if it was beaming with pride over the hard work Lana & Liam put into it. "So, we have the tools, the uniforms, the talent, team name, HQ, but what do call this baby?'' Zach asked hopping onto a stack of crates.

"Just one thing guys. Ecto-RW. As in Royal Woods. What do you all think?'' Lincoln asked them all.

"I like it fellas. Has a nice ring to it.'' Liam agreed.

"Sigh. Cheesy. No, it's really cheesy, but I also like it. Ecto-RW it is.'' Lucy also agreed.

It was very cheesy but sometimes you needed things to be that way. Things being overly serious all the time wasn't good for your mood. "Gotta say I like it too.'' Rusty said next.

And so, the Royal Woods Ghostbusters were born!

-to be continued

Now first off, I didn't plan for this fic to take a lot from Ghostbusters: Afterlife. But the undertones are there though. Also, this is set during the summer vacation after Lincoln's circle of friends finish 8th grade. First few chapters will be the gang starting things up: building the equipment, getting a vehicle, tools, containment unit. Then the first big job comes in at Royal Woods Spa. Yes, there will be sliming. Lots of sliming. They ghosts slime a lot. Know that the ghosts can and will be sliming people. No firehouse though, but they'll be using some random unused bunker Lisa built sometime. As for ghosts? Many will be from the two-cartoon series, the games, and even the IDW Comics. A few will be original creatures from my own mind.

I hope you'll enjoy this story so please review it. Please read and review this and my other stories which range from: Yokohama Night Monsters, Power Rangers Dimension Legends, Loud House: Rise of Akira, ELG The Series, EL Digital Saviors, Cybertronian Invasion, Loud House Build Fighters, and Maverick Hunter KLN to satisfy your craving for bizarre crossovers.
