Super Fire Dragon Slayer (Pt.1)

Hey guys I know I said that the Chapter would be put up next week, but I didn't feel right leaving you guys with the short excerpt of information, so I will be posting the Chapter today, though it may take some time to do so. I want to also explain, that in this story, Goku never joins the Galactic Patrol after the Tournament of Power with Vegeta, so they are a lot less prepared to face the galactic threat. So, during this time they are training on earth with Beerus and Whis respectively, so everyone gets to spend some time with their families, I know its uncharacteristic for Goku, but I wanted a more vulnerable, compassionate Goku for this story, with Chi-Chi's death affecting him more than it should, and that way he finds more motivation to become stronger, even though he would do that no matter what, I wanted to show Goku and Chi-Chi in a more romantic light as opposed to how they are in the show. I also want to Chi-Chi to show a little more support to Gohan and Goten getting stronger, but I digress. As far as pairing them with the people I did, I can kind of see their personalities complimenting each other. Anyway, here is Chapter 1, enjoy, and please feel free to leave a review letting me know what you like and dislike about the story.

Warning: Very OOC Goku at the beginning.

Chapter 1: A New World

The battle with Moro finally came to an end, and unfortunately for three of our heroes, they would suffer heavy losses that would forever change how their perspective of strength. Chi-Chi, Videl, and Pan had been killed during the battle, their life force consumed by the Planet eater. This took a toll on our fellow Saiyans, bringing a mew mindset to become stronger in order to be able to protect not only each other, but the world they lived. A few months after said battle, an Idea would come to Goku's mind something unexpected, and not in character for the fun, battle loving Saiyan at all.

"Hey, guys?" the head of the Son family called to his two children, as they sat in the lobby of Capsule Corporation. The two half -breeds turned towards their father, noting the sternness of his tone, his face showing a serious expression.

"What's up Dad?" Gohan asked, acknowledging the state of his father. Gohan couldn't bear to see his father in such a state, the once happy go lucky Saiyan, now held no joy in his expression, noting the unshed tears in his eyes as the memory of his beloved flashed through his mind. The pain that he felt was crushing, the only time he felt that pain was when Zamasu told him how he killed Chi-Chi and Goten in the future, and now she was gone, frankly speaking if he didn't have Goten, Gohan, or his friends, he may have just died from heartbreak and loneliness, luckily that never happened. Gohan knew the feeling, losing Videl and Pan had been crushing, but he could never compare the pain he felt to how his father felt. Not to say that Gohan wasn't heartbroken, but when Chi-Chi was alive, Goku always had a happiness surrounding him, not ever expecting to be hit with a crushing loss.

"Once we gather the Dragon Balls and restore my youth, what do you say about a fresh start, huh?" Goku asked as his two sons looked at him with confusion.

This time it was Goten who spoke up. "What do you mean dad?" Goten had always been the more innocent of the three, but he still looked up to his father and would trust anything he would say.

Goku looked at his sons with a gentle smile. "Well once I'm restored to my youth, I'm gonna ask Bulma to send us somewhere else, I think we need to get stronger, after our fight with Moro, and losing your mom, Videl, and Pan, I realized that there is still a long way we need to go." "Before the fight your mother and I had a talk."

Flashback:

"Goku, there is something I need to tell you." Chi-Chi said, her tone more serious than before their previous battles.

Goku who had been training had stopped his workout to turn to face his wife, he noticed the somber look on her face and noticed a hint of sadness in her eyes.

"Chi-Chi, hey what's wrong?" the Saiyan asked as he made his way to the raven-haired mother, pulling her into his arms as she quietly cried into his chest.

"Chi-Chi?" the Saiyan asked as he held his wife in his arms, never seeing her this upset before, he lifted her face to meet his. "What's wrong?"

"I….If at anytime something were to happen to me…..I want you t..to promise me something?" she quivered.

"What are you talking about, nothing will ever happen to you, I'll make sure of that." He chuckled, trying to make her feel better.

"If something happens to any of us, and we don't make it, you need to promise me one thing Goku?"

Goku just stood there, holding the crying Chi-Chi in his arms, he was growing a little worried at how she was acting, she never acted this way before, maybe Whis showed her something in the future, something that upset her greatly.

"Promise me, that you won't revive me, and that you, Gohan, and Goten will get stronger, if something were to happen. I know that you won't let anything happen, but there is always a possibility."

"Hey." He lifted her face and planted a soft kiss to her lips. "Nothing will happen, and don't worry about the boys, I'll be there no matter what, so stop having these thoughts okay?" he said, wiping the tears away from her cheeks, and planting another kiss to her lips.

"I promise, that we will get stronger no matter what happens."

Flashback Ends

Remembering the discussion they had, he felt the tears fall from his eyes, as he broke down into quiet sobs. Noticing their father's state, the two boys made their way over to comfort their father, tears of their own threatening to fall from their own eyes. Truly they were unprepared for the loss, and Goku's rage toward the titan as well as his disdain for the planet eater became apparent as he beat the got into a bloody pulp, didn't help. It was absolutely uncharacteristic for him to ever kill anyone, but now his thoughts had changed and while he would never bring harm to people who didn't deserve it, he would still end whoever threatened his family.

As they stood in the lobby, they were interrupted by a presence making their way to the three Saiyans.

Bulma had been affected as well, losing her friend, and almost losing Trunks and Vegeta, when Goku had told her about Chi-Chi's request, she was of course in shock, but still respected her wish.

"Hey guys?" the blue haired woman asked, placing a hand on Gohan's shoulder.

The three looked to meet the gaze of the scientist, noting the small, sad smile on her face. Gohan wiped the tears from his face away, before addressing the woman.

"Hey Bulma, what's up?"

"Vegeta found the final Dragon Ball, so when you guys are ready, we can summon the dragon." She said, making her way towards the front yard, where the rest of the Z-Warriors were waiting, as well as Beerus and Whis.

Following her lead, they treaded lightly, being sure not to interrupt anything. They only had one shot at this, and if it failed, they would have to wait a whole year to do this again, although maybe Whis could assist helping Goku regain his youth.

"Are you sure about this Kakarot?" the Saiyan prince asked his rival-turned-friend, making room for the man so that he was standing directly in front of the wish orbs.

Goku smiled, addressing his friend. "Yeah, I'm positive Vegeta."

Giving his fellow Saiyan's shoulder a gentle squeeze followed by a pat on the back, he made his way over to his own family, holding on to both his wife and daughter in a tight embrace, as Trunks summoned the Dragon.

A bright flash emerged from the orbs allowing the sky to become shrouded in a familiar darkness, as the dragon appeared before our heroes.

"I am the eternal dragon." The entity bellowed in his usual deep voice. "State your three wishes, and I shall grant whatever is in my power to do so."

Goku closed his eyes, and took in a deep breath, before exhaling and stating the first wish. "Shenron, I ask you to please restore me to my youth but allow me to retain my powers."

The Dragon's eyes flashed with a glow, indicating that the first wish had indeed been granted.

"You first wish has been granted, now state your second wish."

"I ask that you also do the same for my son Goten." The Saiyan stated, as the dragon complied with the request.

"What is your last and final wish?"

"Please restore the damage caused the planet eater Moro, and ensure peace for this city, in our absence."

The dragon's eyes glowed in compliance with the final wish before stating his farewell and disappearing.

"Your wishes have been granted, farewell."

As the balls flew away, and the sky became clear, everyone had a look of uncertainty on their face, as they knew what would come next.

"Ok Bulma, it's time." "Is the machine ready?" Goku asked.
