As soon as the snow had melted enough for Gaia to make her way through it, she did. She carried all the items with her that she needed. The book, the candle, the gems, and chalk to draw the symbol inside the circle. She made sure to wear gloves so she wouldn't leave any fingerprints. On her way there, she picked up a rock from a random garden she passed.
She knew how fucked up it was. She was out to kill one person and sentence another one to an eternity in hell, and yet it felt like Seth got off easy by dying after everything he had put her through. All the lies and deceit. All the heartache. All the times he swore to love her while fucking someone behind her back. Everything he took from her. Everything he stole from her apartment. He left her with nothing, and when she called him to ask what was going on, both of them had been laughing at her over the phone. Laughing and mocking her. They planned this. They planned to hurt her the day they met and started hooking up. It was that laugh that kept her angry. And on top of it, he had stolen her dog too. That was the final nail in the coffin.
She stopped outside of their house. A house that had been bought with her money. Seth had cleaned out their shared bank account, and the money had gone to buying this house with Becky. She had studied it through the seller's website and via google street view. She could get inside and get to him.
The lights were on and she snuck around the dark garden. She moved to the basement window and smashed it with the rock she had picked up. She reached inside and unclasped the window. She climbed inside and listened to the music coming from upstairs. They hadn't heard her. She was safe for now.
"Fuck you!" She whispered.
She heard Ghost whimpering and scratching on the door to the basement. Of course he knew she was down there. He could probably smell, hear and feel her.
"Stop that, you fucking mongrel!" Seth yelled.
"Lock him up," Becky said.
Ghost's whimper disappeared as someone either dragged or carried him away. He was a big dog so most likely he was being dragged. Gaia's heart broke even further in that moment and there was no longer any doubt left. She was going to do this.
"I'm coming for you, Ghost," she whispered.
She used a flashlight she had brought to draw the circle and the symbol. She placed the gems inside the symbol and lit the black candle. She picked up the book and read the old Nordic verse three times. The basement went ice cold and she heard the snowstorm shake the earth outside. Finn appeared inside the symbol.
"This is the third time," he said. "I warned you."
"They're upstairs," she said.
He looked up at the ceiling and inhaled sharply. He looked back at her and grinned.
"Clever human," he winked. "You brought me to them this way."
"It was the only way," she said.
"I quite like you, human. I wish you were the one I would take with me but a deal is a deal. I am a demon of my word," he said.
"How are you gonna kill him?" She asked.
"Painful," he answered.
He walked over to the staircase and started walking upwards. She followed right behind him. She didn't care what he would do. She had to save her dog.
"Don't hurt my dog," she said.
"I'm only here for the humans," he said.
He opened the door and stepped through it. The loud music drowned everything. He followed the sound until he found them in the living room.
"Who the fuck are you? Get out of my house!" Seth yelled.
Finn worked fast. He crossed the floor too fast for the human eye to catch. One moment he was in front of Gaia, the next moment he had his hands wrapped around Seth and Becky's throats. Gaia heard Ghost whimpering again and turned to see he was on his leash chained in the corner. He didn't even have a blanket or anything.
"Ghost!" She yelled.
She ran to her dog and freed him. She hugged him and took in all the dog kisses he was giving.
"Gaia! Help!" Seth yelled.
Gaia turned to see Finn drag both of them down in the basement.
"I have to see this," she said.
She stood up and walked back to the basement door. Ghost decided to follow. He was not leaving her side now that she had finally found him. They walked downstairs and saw Becky was standing with ice around her feet to prevent her from moving. Seth was crying in pain while Finn was scratching his stomach open.
"Gaia, please!" Seth whimpered.
"I have no mercy to give," Gaia said.
"You've been a bad human," Finn chuckled.
Finn reached inside Seth's stomach and pulled his intestines out. Gaia was surprised to see Seth still remaining alive long enough for Finn to get almost everything out. Finn let go of Seth, and the dead body dropped to the floor inside the circle.
"I've been around long enough to know they'll blame it on some random satanism," Finn said. "I can remove his organs too to make it look more believable if you want."
Gaia just nodded. Finn grinned and pulled Seth's organs out of him and placed them around him in the circle.
"There, now he has been sacrificed to some random god or devil. We don't care. No one's ever gonna hear about it unless I tell them," Finn said.
"Stop!" Becky cried.
"Right, I almost forgot about my toy," Finn laughed.
Finn walked over to Becky and grabbed her. She was crying and pleading but he ignored her and instead looked at Gaia.
"It's been fun, human," he said.
"It's been something, demon," she said.
He grinned at her and chuckled.
"Alright, you win this round," he said. "You know where to find me if you ever need me again. Take care of yourself, Gaia. Don't let this ruin you."
"I won't," she said. "Take care of yourself too, Father Frost."
"Ah, the old title hasn't been completely lost," he laughed. "I do miss the old days where everyone knew of us and feared us. Now I'm just a tale that only some people get to experience. I hope I was everything you hoped for."
"You were," she said. "And more."
She picked up the candle and held it in front of her. He winked and disappeared on his own. She still blew it out to make sure the connection was broken. She picked up the gems, the chalk and the book too, and placed it all back in her bag so that no evidence of her was left behind. She looked over at her big, white, fluffy dog who clearly had missed her.
"It's over now, Ghost. We can go home soon. We have to stay with Alexa for a few days but you know her," she said. "We just gotta stop by the apartment and clean first so that no one ever connects this mess with a symbol on my bedroom floor."
Alexa stepped inside her house and smiled at the sound of dog paws that came running towards her.
"Oh my god, Ghost? You're here?" She asked happily.
She patted the dog and walked into the living room where Gaia was watching the news.
"What happened?" Alexa asked.
"I don't know," Gaia answered. "I went home yesterday to make a list of everything I need to buy. I found Ghost chained up outside of my door. I don't know how long he's been there. Seth just left him there apparently."
"That asshole!" Alexa growled.
Alexa dumped down in the couch. Ghost jumped up to lie between them.
"A horrible murder has taken place last night. Seth Rollins has been murdered in what appears to be some sort of satanic ritual. Police is looking for his girlfriend Becky Lynch. Becky has disappeared, and police thinks she's the one who murdered Seth. If you see her, please call the number on the screen. Don't make contact. She is considered armed and dangerous."
Alexa's jaw dropped and she looked over at Gaia. Gaia looked just as shocked.
"What the fuck?" Alexa whispered.
"Holy fuck!" Gaia blurted out. "She straight up fucking murdered his ass."
"Maybe she's the one who left Ghost outside your apartment," Alexa said.
"Maybe," Gaia said.
Alexa looked back at the screen but there was no more to be reported on about the murder. Gaia scratched Ghost's ears and smiled.
"I called my aunt and asked for a loan. You know I've always been her favorite. Anyway, we made a deal. She'll pay for everything as long as I take the promotion in her business. I never saw myself as a leader type but I think it's gonna be good for me, and the pay is great," Gaia said. "I already ordered all the furniture this morning and she's paid for everything. I was hoping you'll go shopping with me tomorrow on your day off to buy everything else I need."
"Of course I'll go with you," Alexa said.
"Great, I'll pay for lunch. Pick a place and we'll go there," Gaia said.
Gaia leaned down and placed a kiss on top of Ghost's head.
"We're going home soon, Ghost," Gaia said.
"Until then you're gonna crash here," Alexa said. "We gotta buy things for him too."
"I'm gonna spoil him rotten," Gaia said.
"He deserves it," Alexa said. "Fuck, this is weird, Gaia. Seth is dead, Becky is missing, and you're here with Ghost. Well, at least they can never hurt you again."
"Thank fuck," Gaia said.
"And if everything else fails," Alexa said.
Alexa picked up the book about demons and smirked at Gaia.
"There's still time for us to try and summon a demon. I still vote for Father Frost," Alexa said.
"You're fucking weird," Gaia laughed.
"I know," Alexa laughed too. "Nah, I would never dare try to see if it's real. I'm too chicken for that. It's just very interesting to read about. You know what? You should have it. I've already read it, and I know you're way more interested in supernatural things than I am."
"Are you sure?" Gaia asked.
Alexa nodded and handed the book to Gaia.
"Take it. It's yours. And if any demon starts running free around town, I know who to blame," Alexa said.
"Thank you," Gaia said. "I promise to take good care of it."
