So, I recently re-re played Bowser's Inside Story (The original) and beat the final boss with no damage. Yes, I'm great at the game, but then I got to thinking. I realized that we only fight Bowser as the Mario Bros and not the other way around. That sucks! And we only fight Bowser twice. The first time was a tutorial and the second was pretty cool I'll admit. And yeah, there's a third, but we don't get to control anyone. Complaining aside, I decided to turn the final fight(s) into a script. Hope you enjoy!
SPOILER WARNING!
I know that the game's been out for a long time, but if you haven't played it or seen it, then you should. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Character: All four main characters.
Music: Deep Castle.
Location (Bowser): Top of Peach's Castle.
Music: Deep Castle (Inside Bowser)
Location (Mario Bros): Pipe Yard.
It's time. Time to face destiny. The Mario Bros face each other and nod at destiny. They walk to the "Sight Seer" {Bowser's eyes} to watch what's goes down.
Bowser: I'm ready. Ain't no way that fake me is gonna win!
Starlow ponders something, but she focuses on what's about to happen.
The main characters finished what they needed to do. Each are at LV 40 as they just unlocked their max rank. They look at their items. A couple of max mushrooms. Some Max syrup jars. Some TNT Drumsticks. 2 Refresh herbs. 2 Star candys. And a retry clock. Why don't they have more items? Because they wasted some of them by grinding. They don't have the time to get more items so Bowser presses onwards. As he steps towards destiny, some blue flames arise from the ground next to them. Then… Bower faces him.
Bowser: Nice of you to be patient, fake me!
The camera pans to Dark Bowser and an unconscious Peach lying beside them. {Does the Dark star have a gender?}
Dark Bowser: The dark power slept so long, and now it wakes… It must be freed. BEHOLD!
Music: Dark Bowser!
Suddenly black clouds escape Dark Bowser's mouth. This causes a dark mist to spread all over the mushroom kingdom, capturing some of the inhabitants in dark bubbles. The dark mist turns into a windstorm. Despite being in the epicenter, Bowser manages to not get blown away, but he's struggling.
Bowser: What's this, wind? That's your big dark power? A windstorm?! Talk about wimpy!
Bowser then gets slightly blown back, but he manages to hang on.
Starlow: This must be the final battle! I can feel the dark power emanating like crazy!
Bowser: Chippy?! That you!? Everything's going nuts out here! I wish you could see this scene!
Starlow: Listen! I have a favor to ask!
Bowser: Not a good time, Chippy!
Starlow: Just listen! When you face off in battle… Don't forget you can count on us!
Bowser: Wait, what?
Starlow: We'll help you from here! We'll all work together!
Mario: Yep!
Luigi: Yeah!
Bowser gets surprised at hearing Mario and Luigi.
Bowser: Am I nuts? Did I just hear Mario and Green 'Stache? {Poor Luigi}
Starlow: That's right! I didn't help you alone in here!
Bowser: What was that?!
Mario: We are here, too!
Luigi: We were helping you!
Starlow: Mario and Luigi are in your body too! MARIO AND LUIGI!
The scene gets darker as the wind intensifies, but Bowser still hangs on.
Bowser: What!? I can barely hear with this wind! Don't leave me hanging! Who else is with you!
Starlow: Never mind! Just remember that we're in this fight too! DON'T FORGET!
The scene flashes in darkness, but Bowser still sees his foe before him.
Dark Bowser: Still here? Has the dark power not crushed your puny hopes? Soon this kingdom will vanish along with all who dwell within. And you, too, will sleep entirely in the dark power's embrace!
Seeing how Dark Bowser threatens his life, Bowser laughs.
Bowser: Great dark hurricane! Seriously, perfect backdrop for awesome final battle! You really sweat the details! Listen up! You're saying the kingdom will vanish? NOT TODAY! THIS KINDOM IS ALL MINE! SO YOU VANASH!
They begin the final battle with a fire breath clash.
Bowser and Dark Bowser: SHOWTIME!
Music: In The Final
Dark Bowser starts the battle with chucking a boulder in the air and destroying it causing rocks to fall. Bowser uses his shell to block the falling rocks, but while he's distracted, Dark Bowser starts charging a fire breath. Bowser doesn't realize this until it's too late. This does sting, but Bowser is still ok.
Bowser then takes his turn. He doesn't want to go all-out from the start, so he starts with a "Goomba Gambit" {Cuz I love alliteration} but it doesn't even faze him. The he tries the "Shy Guy Squad" which does starch him but isn't enough.
Dark Bowser then charges a punch which causes Bowser to do the same. They clash, but it's not impressive as Dark Bowser is stronger. This causes a bruise on Bowser's arm.
Bowser tries "Koopa Corps" which seems like it would work, but Dark Bowser cruses each Koopa under his foot. Lucky he only breaks their shell and not their life. Then Bowser tries "Bob-omb Blitz" which cause Dark Bowser to be dizzy. This distraction allows Bowser to use "Magikoopa Mob" which does some decent damage. Bowser chuckles much to the anger of Dark Bowser.
Dark Bowser summons a cage. He rases it high in the air.
Dark Bowser: I will rise, and the stars will fall!
Bowser is confused until he sees a giant energy orb charging below him.
Dark Bowser: All who dare to stand shall be made to crawl!
He punches the cage multiple times furiously which frees him and causes the cage and him to fall on Dark Bowser and dissipate the orb. Bowser was about to try the "Magikoopa Mob" until a Magikoopa faces Bowser.
Magikoopa: Your badness. Perhaps you should try a different approach. You can't use us forever.
Bowser: But you guys are the elite force!
Magikoopa: True, but you still have someone else, your crudeness.
Bowser then realizes that he's right as he forgot about "Broggy Bonker." He unleashes the dog which does A LOT of damage. So much damage that it causes Dark Bowser to faint. Bowser laughs in victory as he thinks he won, but Dark Cure Fawful uses his power to heal Dark Bowser and cause him to grow in size. Bowser still thinks he's won until he is hit by dark versions of his minions. It pushes him away from Dark Bowser. This doesn't do damage, but the dark minions try to attack Bowser. Bowser laughs at this pathetic onslaught. He punches and doges his way back to Dark Bowser who does a sky ward attack which catches Bowser off guard. Bowser is relatively ok, but he can't delay that hurt.
Bowser is angry. He was about to punch the Giga Dark Bowser in the nose, but he realizes that he can't reach so he decided to punch him in the stomach. Giga Dark Bowser coughs up Dark Cure Fawful who scurries away. This cause Giga Dark Bowser to shrink down to normal size. Bowser notices this and smirks.
Bowser: What's wrong there, critter? Are you just a little parasite?
He then uses his inhale ability, but Dark Bowser does the same. Both try their hardest, but OG Bowser wins.
Bowser: Hope you don't mind that fighting tends to build an appetite!
Music: In The Final (inside Bowser)
Location: Gut Check
The scene transitions to inside Bowser. Mario and Luigi look at Dark Cure Fawful who transforms into Dark Star Fawful who is much larger and has 3 tentacles coupled with the Dark Star on his head. Mario actually doesn't seem eager to fight, but Luigi has something to say.
Luigi: Mario! Look at the Dark Star! That must be its weak spot!
Mario is surprised at Luigi's bravery. He then realizes that even if it's a hard challenge, he won't face it alone.
Mario: This is our chance, Luigi!
Mario and Luigi: Let's finish off this star! You ready, bro? Let's-a go!
They see that Dark Star Fawful has different segments like the previous final boss fight the Mario Bros endured. Suddenly, two creepy hands look like they're about to punch the bros which they try to block, but it does do damage. Mario pulls out the Bros Attack, "Mirror Magic." {I thought Magic Window was a little on the nose."} This causes the eyes to crack and one of the tentacles to dissipate. Luigi takes care of the remaining two by using "Sweet Slam." Now that the body parts are gone, The bros can focus on the Dark Star itself.
Luigi: If you're still in there, Fawful, know you still made one mistake.
Mario: Thinking that we could never Find a way to save the day!
Suddenly, The Dark Core charges an massive attack. Both Bros know that it'll be deadly. Starlow then allows the Bros to hold on to her to avoid the attack. The Bros are shocked by the power of the blast.
Mario and Luigi: We will rise! Brothers hand in hand! We will never crawl! And here we stand!
Mario uses the power of their current badges "Excellent! Bros Badge" and "Powerful Badge" to increase the power of their next attack, "Spectacular Star Fall." It does a lot of damage. The Dark Core looks like it's Ko'ed much to the minor pain of Dark Bowser and the confusion of Bowser. Both fights are shown at the same time.
The Dark Core is done, but what's left of Fawful doesn't give up. He then heals himself as he powers up himself and Dark Bowser. He then turns back into Dark Star Fawful much to the shock of the bros. It looks like Dark Bowser and Dark Star Fawful are in sync.
Dark Bowser and Dark Star Fawful: Inside the hearts of man, I see the darkness beckoning.
Bowser and his minions: You are a fool to try and stand against the Koopa King!
Starlow, Mario, and Luigi: To save the kingdoms Fight for everyone and everything.
Everyone: THE FINALE APPROACHES! NOW A VICTORY WE'LL SING!
They throw a punch to Bowser and the Bros respectively. Their speed and power are insane. It leaves the 3 of them with 30 HP remaining for Bowser and 15HP for the bros. They use their respective healing items, but it's clear that they need to finish this. Both do their strongest attacks, but they don't do a lot of damage.
A while later, all hope seems lost as they ran out of syrup jars and only have 2 healing items left. The bros have 5 BP left while Bowser doesn't have any left. Luigi is at 25 HP while Mario is at 20 HP. Bowser is at 50 HP. Luigi then pulls out his Hammer much to Mario's confusion. He then repeatedly whacks Dark Star Fawful's tentacles. Mario does the same and their teamwork and the damage they did before hand, they manage to see The Dark Core up close again. They are left with only one bros attack that they can use.
Back to Bowser, he's pissed off now. His minions are tired. He is starting to get tired. He starts to lose hope until he sees Peach still unconscious. He then gets fire in his eyes! Determined to capture her again, he is powered up with Fury! He throws a punch at Dark Bowser which does some damage, but he needs to keep the fight going to win.
Back with the Bros, Luigi decides to pull out the only bros attack they can use, "Shell Shot" even though they can't use it as their enemy is in the air. Luigi decides to throw the shell which bounces off the Dark Star Core. The shell falls in front of Mario who sees what Luigi is doing so he kicks it back which causes a chain reaction. This does do damage, but Luigi keeps breaking the game mechanics by pulling out his hammer. Instead of kicking, he uses his hammer to do more damage. Mario does the same.
Mario and Luigi: We will hold our hammers high! Watch a star fall as we soar through the sky!
The Dark Star Core can't handle the game breaking mechanics. Literally. The remains of Fawful's face breaks apart a little. This cause Dark Bowser's head to also break apart. This moment of pain is a perfect chance for Bowser to land some good blows.
Bowser and Dark Bowser: Dreams in darkness crash and burn.
Dark Bowser groans in pain.
Bowser: Now it's time you learn! Now it's my turn!
The Dark Star Core falls off of Dark Star Fawful. Mario stands in front of the Dark Star Core while Luigi stands in front of the remains of Fawful.
Mario and Luigi: We will rise! And the stars will fall! We will bring the light back to all!
Both then slam their hammers as hard as they could on top of both villains. Fawful didn't look fazed, but the Dark Star Core is. The core gets ready to explode. Mario and Luigi run away to avoid it. The destruction of the core cause Dark Bowser to hold his head in pain, but he continues fighting.
Bowser: Looks like it's time to end this.
Both charge at each other with a powerful punch. With their injuries, Dark Bowser being stronger, and Bowser having Fury, they are evenly matched. Mario and Luigi go back into "Sight Seer" and watch the display. They then give some encouragement.
Starlow, Mario, and Luigi: And in the final hour of fading light. Stand tall against the night.
Starlow, Mario, Luigi, and Bowser: While our hopes burn bright!
Starlow, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Bowser's minions, and Dark Bowser: And in the final hour, my/our star will shine! Starlight and powers aligned! In the final fight!
Bowser's minions decide to help despite being tired. They push Bowser so that he can win.
Bowser's Minions: The Koopa King will strike you down! He'll put you back in the ground!
Bowser and his minions: LEARN WHY I/HE WEAR(S) THE CROWN!
With all his might, Bowser punches through Dark Bowser's hand. Dark Bowser is shocked, but then he receives a rush of pain. Bowser then ignites his hand with fire. He charges one last KO punch. Once it lands, it hits Dark Bowser's stomach. Bowser roars in fatigue and victory. Now Dark Bowser's stomach is cracked. Even though he can't fight anymore, he can still speak.
Dark Bowser: (Panting) I have fallen... To come so far… So far… To lose…
Bowser looks kinda sympathetic as not even a fake version of him can win.
Bowser: Hey… Listen. Just because you act and fight like me, doesn't mean you can beat the real deal.
Dark Bowser: Dark… Even with the dark power completed… The unthinkable happened…
Bowser: Yeah… YOU LOST!
Dark Bowser then transforms into a weaker version of the Dark Star. He rises in the air and explodes. This causes anything that Dark Bowser did before the final fight started to be reversed.
Starlow: The Dark Star… It's finally gone.
Bowser: Yeah. Gotta admit. It wasn't easy.
Goombas: But we showed him, huh boss!?
Shy Guys: He never stood a chance against the might Bowser!
Koopas: King Bower would've never lost to a copycat!
Bowser: (Laughs) You got that right!
Bowser is still injured though, but he keeps his composer.
Starlow: Is Princess Peach ok?
Bowser: Oh. Forgot about her.
He then sits on the floor.
Bowser: I'll kidnap her when my legs no longer hurt.
Starlow: Oops. I said too much…
Suddenly, a weak, but still noticeable voice is heard behind Starlow and the Mario Bros.
?: Why… The failing…
This voice is actually what remains of Fawful.
Music: Fawful is There (Fawful Theme)
Starlow: What? You're still alive?
Mario and Luigi prepare to take on the weak Fawful.
Fawful: You…mustaches…with…why…fury…whatever… Fawful…just wanted… some kingdom conquering… Fawful tried… Fawful gave the 110%'s… Fawful worked the overtime… Fawful was the team player… Fawful put in the hours… Fawful got the hands dirty… But every time… Always… The mustaches… arrive… Always in Fawful's way… Alwaysalwaysalways…
Starlow: Just give up already… Seriously. Get over it. Just be done with evil. Since you're so bad with it.
Fawful: I have remorse… Fawful understands… Fawful gives up… (On everything…) Fawful will disappear with no troubles…
Having said that, Mario and Luigi relax.
Starlow: Sounds good. No more doing evil. Ok?
Fawful: Here Fawful goes… The Disappearing… Forever disappearing…
He then smirks.
Fawful: WITH YOU!
He then explodes. This explosion causes Bowser's mouth to hurt. When he opens his mouth with a mighty roar, everything he inhaled before the adventure started was released. This roar also wakes up Princes Peach but now the bros are knocked out.
Peach: Mario! Luigi! Starlow! You guys are ok!
Mario wakes up to Peach's voice and cheers. Starlow nudges Luigi to wake up. He does so and also cheer with Mario. Bowser reads the area.
Starlow: We made it out of Bowser's body! Looks like Fawful saved us. Maybe he can be good after all.
The Mario Bros laugh at Starlow's joke.
Peach: Thank you everyone… Thank you for saving the Mushroom Kingdom…
Bowser: What… In the… WHAT IS THIS!? WHY DID GREEN 'STACHE AND MARIO COME OUT OF MY GUT?!
Starlow: Listen. I'd advice you to not think about it so deeply. It's in the past what you don't know won't hurt you!
Bowser: Wait… That voice… CHIPPY?!
Starlow: Yep. Your minion. And by the way, not interested. I would rather hang out with Shy Guys then work with you.
Shy Guys: What's that supposed to mean!?
Bowser then screams in rage. Everyone that's in the area becides Starlow, Peach, and the Mario Bros run away from Bowser's rath. Mario and Luigi get into a fighting stance.
Mario: Ready bro?
Luigi: We just saved the world. One more victory won't hurt.
Peach Good luck you guys.
She then also runs away.
Bowser: Having yourself some kind of hoedown in my body! MY BODY! I have never been so disgusted! NO WAY do I stand for this! This time. I WILL WIN AND TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS PRINCESS!
Mario, Bowser, and Luigi: CHARGE!
Bowser does a sliding punch at the bros at the bros jump towards him. Weaken by their fight beforehand, it doesn't last too long, but Mario uses the last of his BP to use "Shell Shot" and beat Bowser.
Bowser's minions bandage and carry him back to his castle while Mario and Luigi head back so that Peach could heal them. Since Fawful destroyed both their castles, the Toads and Bowser's minions fix up their respective castles. As Bowser is healing from his injuries, Peach feels bad for Bowser, so she sends him a gift via messenger bird. Bowser lies on his bead in shame and pain until his former minions arrive: Sergeant Guy, Corporal Paraplonk, and Private Goomp.
Private Goomp: So… Uh… King Bowser! How are you feeling?
Corporal Paraplonk: Listen… We… We wanna rejoin as minions…
Sergeant Guy: Sir, it was an extreme error of judgment to trust Fawful. We offer our unflinching allegiance back to you!
The messenger arrives to drop off Bowser's gift. Bowser gets up and is annoyed by the bird.
Bowser: Who disturbers me?!
Bowser reads where the gift came from, and he gasps. Suddenly Starlow flies out of the gift.
Starlow: HELLO YELLO!
Bowser: What the… YOU! What do you want?!
Starlow: I thought you might attack Peach's Castle, so I thought I'd check up on you.
Bowser: My castle got wrecked too! Remodeling's not evil!
Starlow: True. And by the way, that's a great attitude!
Bowser: Just shut up and go away!
Starlow: Fine. I'm going... Enjoy your present from Peach.
Starlow then flies away.
Corporal Paraplonk: You won't open it?
Bowser: Quite minion! Get back to work! All of you!
Private Goomp: You called us "minions?" You mean… We're back in?!
Bowser: Fine! Yes! Just go! Next time, pull your weight in being Mario!
Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk, Sergeant Guy: THANK YOU! SO MUCH!
They happily run away. Bowser checks if he's alone. He then opens the present which is a cake.
Music: The End
It has streamers and pictures of Bowser's face, Mario, Luigi, and Peach. Bowser doesn't know how to feel. On one hand. He hates anything with Mario, but on the other hand, it's a gift from Peach. For now, he just smiles as he gets ready to eat.
And that is the end! I really love this game. I never really played an RPG game till I played this. Although when I first played, I didn't really understand the story and got stuck on the train fight, but I still had fun.
Also, credits to MOTI for the amazing lyrics from "In The Final". I used some of the lyrics just to make the battle even cooler.
