An eight letter phrase shouldn't be so hard to say, yet it was.
Sprx tried so many times to tell Nova how he really felt about her. How amazing she was, how kickass she was yet so loving, he could list off everything he loved about her. Yet, if he were to tell it to her face, he always choked up. He always became sweaty and the words got stuck in his throat. If it wasn't his own body trapping his thoughts inside, something happened. Someone interrupted, she said he could tell her later, or they were in a situation where if something could get in the way it did.
About to be crushed up and he was about to say it? Everything ended up fine in the long run, he just couldn't get it out. If Nova asked about it later, he brushed it off with it being something else instead of what it truly was. Sprx sounded nervous every time he had to act like it was something else. It happened even at his calmest.
There shouldn't have been a reason why he kept choking up. With anyone else, it was easier, but with Nova it was like he was set aflame. He supposed being in love with a woman of fire would do that to someone.
Sprx thought of different ways to do it besides saying it to her face. Writing notes to tell her how he felt, giving her a batch of flowers that said it for him, anything that would work better. No matter what he tried, nothing worked out.
He couldn't get the right words written down and he kept throwing out paper after paper. That and if Sprx just wrote it down then gave it to Nova, she might punch him for such a stupid method. If he tried to make a bouquet, he would certainly mess up somewhere and he didn't want to ask Gibson for help. It would take only one attempt of him trying by himself before she would look at the flowers and scoff at him.
Sprx didn't know what to do at this point and it was driving him crazy. In a way, he wondered if Nova was having as much trouble as he was. Of course, he could be giving himself false hope by thinking that she might feel the same way, but it still made him wonder.
Sprx always joked and flirted, but he did it to keep himself looking cool. He never really let her get too close and he wondered if he made a mistake not doing that yet. Maybe he should take her hands and do something genuine for once, no matter how much he struggled getting the words out.
He only wished those three words weren't hard to genuinely say to Nova.
