Chapter 3

After that incident she didn't talk to Matteo, only a word here and there during class, but that was only out of necessity. She didn't talk to any of them anymore, instead hanging out with the golden trio occasionally joined by Luna, Ginny or Neville.

"Why aren't you talking to me anymore? Did I do something wrong? Y/N talk to me!" He begged grabbing her wrist.

She flinched, saying nothing but looking into his dark eyes that seemed to hug hers. Thinking "those are the most gorgeous dark brown eyes I've ever seen. They would never try to hurt me. They are beautiful."

She broke his grasp and ran. She went to the great hall just in time for breakfast and sat next to Blaise, who was drinking his coffee, black with 2 sugars.

"What's got you so out of breath?" He said stirring his steaming cup.

"Nothing, just went for a morning jog" You said, proud of your excuse.

"You hate running, and the outdoors" he said through small bursts of laughter.

"Morning babe!" You say as Theo sits down next to Pansy, who is watching him ever so carefully as if watching him come closer to her.

Theo said nothing.

"Hey, what's wrong?" You ask.

"Nothing!" He yells and leaves the table

Blaise starts laughing to himself. You elbow him in the ribs. "Hey!" He exclaims.

Pansy starts running after Theo. You angrily look at them, confused by Theo's whiplash response.

"What's wrong with him?" You ask, hurt because of his actions.

"Why would I know? Your brother hangs out with him more" Blaise added in response.

You left, going to find Draco. You ran to the common room expecting Draco to be there but instead you found Matteo, staring glossy-eyes into the fire.

"Hey are you okay?" You ask, sitting on the couch next to him.

"Why do you care? Theo doesn't like you talking to me, you should probably leave." He said, tears nearly bursting out of his eyes.

"I'm not going to leave someone who cared about me and saved my life to be lonely in a cold, empty room." You say, laying your arm around his shoulders. At this point you didn't care what Theo had to say about him. Matteo was sweet, just misunderstood.

You rested your head on his shoulder. He laid his head in yours, closing his eyes and drifting to sleep.

After he was asleep, you carefully shifted him so that he was laying down, head on your lap, peaceful as ever.

You thought to yourself, "How could anyone misunderstand you, your so kind and gentle."

Soon after you drifted off to sleep, only to be awaken by the sound of the old grandfather clock in the corner of the room, reminding everyone that it was midnight. You looked to see that Matteo was still peacefully sleeping. You slept that night in the common room, Matteo's head resting in your lap.
